Jophielle Love on Her GH Exit and a Future ‘Violet’ Return: “It Would Be Great If I Could Come Back with My Dad”
On yesterday’s, October 21st episode of General Hospital, Violet shared some very heartbreaking goodbyes with her loved ones as she leaves Port Charles to join her father, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) in Seattle. Those moments signified the end of Jophielle Love’s run on the soap opera, for now.
In tears, Violet told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) she would miss her the most, told Brook Lynn and Chase (Josh Swickard), she knows they are going to have a baby girl someday, because they are good at raising girls, and that she and Tracy would have a virtual tea party, once Tracy (Jane Elliot) gave her Lila’s good china as a parting gift.
Jophielle spoke to Soap Opera Digest on her exit, where she shared that her final day on set was, “very sad,” but added, “It was fun to end it with a tea party, which is Violet’s favorite thing to do. But the long good-byes … so hard. I think I was already crying before they called, ‘Action!’ ”

Playing Violet’s inner-conflict of being excited to being reunited with her dad, but in the process saying goodbye to the other members of the family, she has grown to love, gave Jophielle all the feels and emotions. “It’s weird to feel so happy and so sad at the same time,” she explains. “Violet was happy to be on her way to see her dad, and also incredibly sad to leave her new home and family at the Quartermaines. And I felt just like that on this last day. It was almost like crying while smiling… and then I realized I was the one going through that door!”

When GH scripted Violet’s exit, the door was left open for her to make a return down the line, which could be sooner than later, we just don’t know. Taking the decision as best she could, the young Daytime Emmy-nominee, said just how she would like to come back, if given the opportunity.
“I don’t know how or when, but I hope it is not in too long from now, said Jophielle. “It would be great if I could come back with my dad but as we saw, there is no way of knowing what the story will be. I could be back next year or in 10 years!”
So, do you want to see Jophielle and Michael Easton return to General Hospital together as a father-daughter unit? Are you sad to see Jophielle leave the show? Comment below.
I really have enjoyed Dr. Finn and Violet’s relationship on the show. I’m looking forward to their sooner than later RETURN.
Great little actress There are more thins in the future for this Brilliant Beautiful Young Lady
I would love to see her come back with her dad or without. I am tired of them recasting great characters and killing off ones. i don’t like the writers
And WHEN the character comes back, please have her mother Hayden come back too.
Great little Actress
Yesssss!
She didn’t say goodbye to her aunt Elizabeth who was more involved in taking care of her for years than Chase. Ridiculous.
Yes bring both back please♥️
I just don’t like the writers anymore. I have stopped watching because they just irritate me with all the firing of good actors! When GH gets new writers I will come back but until then I am boycotting watching my favorite and only Soap!!!
When did g/h turn to diversity look people slavery is in the past! Holocaust is in the past ! For all you that can’t see we are human we bleed red no matter what color we are ! Sure we have a lot of dumbasses be stop feeling sorry for yourself cause of color or religion ! Bring back good soaps or I’ll watch some stupid game show ! I’d watch g/h in the 50s with my dad now I see it deteriorate shame on the writers
Michael Ryan, you best check yourself before you start saying we censor American History textbooks. I have no idea why you brought up Slavery or the Holocaust because no else did. Your viewpoint is chilling and doesn’t belong in a soap comment section.
I agree. Stop with the racism! I am so tired of it.
I also would like to see more black actors being employed!!!!
Yes I would like to see them both return soon. Miss Violet already
Absolutely
Yes I want them both back. They were both great actors. I will miss them.
I would love to see Dr. Finn return to the show and re-connect with Elizabeth.
There are a lot of other actors or actresses on General Hospital that they should be getting rid of. They always seem to let the good ones go. I really hope they rethink some of their decisions. And it’s really very sad that they killing off Sam.
Portia should go, Holly too
The writers need to stop writing out all the good characters!! You are going to keep this up and run out of fans. I’ve been watching this show since it came on in the 60’s and l really hate to say but the quality of story lines is really declining. Too many comercials and too much re-telling of the lines instead of a good script. I and most of the fans already know the story we dont need to hear a 5 min replay before we get today’s story. Thanks for listening. Signed A loyal fan.
Bring them both back. They both had good storylines and are phenomenal actors
They will both be missed. They are both very good actors, but she is very special and will be a great ⭐
I love the little girl & her beautiful singing voice. Finn is a great character.
I am so sorry to see her leave as well as Michal but at least the writers didn’t kill off Finn as he left the rehab hospital to return home. I had early on read they were going to have him die in a car wreck after checking out of rehab so I am grateful that didn’t happen. Hopefully they can both return.
I so enjoyed watching this young actor grow up on GH. She has come a long way. I hope she returns to Port Charles sooner rather than later. So enjoyable to watch.
I am very sad they took Finn and Violet off. I hope they do come back.
The actor portraying Finn quit GH. He said he needed a break. Remember he was on All My Children.
Between the firing of Kelly Monoco, loss of Violet, loss of Marshall I don’t even like the show anymore. Not sure what is driving all this. Kelly gave up part of her salary and was fired anyway. Between bad business decisions and poor writing this show is being run into the ground
Violet is such a wonderful asset to GH. Having her leave would be a tragedy.
i have watched GH since its inception. Violets leaving would be awful
I loved Finn and Violet and it would be awesome to see them return
I cried when she left!! Great lil actress!!
I love the father , daughter. Fillet and fan just fit. Please bring them both back. I loved them and broke my heart when they left.
Mark Teschner has a great track record in finding young talent. Jophielle was one of the best finds since Kimberly McCullough. Miss Love held her own with veteran performers.
Here’s wishing her a lifetime of happiness and success.
Finn and Violet come back
- Yes I would like to see them return to GH.
Yes, bring her back along with her dad and her mom. Sooner than later.
She’s been such a delight to watch grow up. The first sight oof her in the hospital bed – she looked like an angel. I hope she comes back. I miss her already.
This little actress is one the best actress for her age, not to mention the absolute cutest. I hate to see her go, but I think they should definitely have her visit Port Charles during the summer or when Finn does doctors without borders or something like that. Not to kill him off, but to have him missing or something. GH still needs to finish the storyline with Violet’s mother. Leaving open for so long is irresponsible.
Yes I would love to see them return please and thank you
Don’t miss Finn at all. Will miss her!!!! Storylines need to move along!!!!
I hope Violet and Finn come back together. I really enjoyed watching their relationship blossom.❤️
See, this is another reason I’ve stopped watching for almost a year. Either same storylines with different characters, or changes with characters. Not as good as it use to be. Disappointed since I’ve watched from the very 1st show.
Would love to see Violet return with her Dad…absolutely!
Yes let them both come back
I’m upset about violet leaving I think she does a great job and she is so freakin cute!!!!
I look falward to ther return ,sooner then later.
Yes. Bring her back. They are getting rid of good people and bringing killers back on the show. In this world we are living in today keep good things on GH. Not killing and drugs etc. it’s all to real and stressful. It’s too much. Not enough good.
Josephine is phenomenal
Never should have let her go
She will be picked up by another show so fast
Michael Easton is also absolutely outstanding
It is getting ridiculous how the writers are writing off so many wonderful wonderful and important actors and actresses from this program. You are ripping out our hearts with Finn and Violet. I’ve loved Finn for a long time but bringing on Violet to be his daughter brought his character to a new level of greatness and she has added so much love to the show making such a positive difference in so many relationships. Why do we get so involved these characters for you writers to so swiftly dispose of them? Also removing Sam (Kelly Monaco) after all of these years is cruel to her an us. It’s getting hard to get to involved now, knowing that they might be gone as quickly as they came. I do hope to see them back soon.
I liked Finn with Anna, his relationship with Tracy, Alexis, Chase, and especially with Violet. I did not like the pairing with Elizabeth as there was zero chemistry between them. (It was agonizing to watch them together.) So yes, I’d like Finn & Violet to come back; however, he needs to have chemistry with his love interest & that won’t happen with Elizabeth.
Yes, I want to see Jophielle Love return to General Hospital and Michael Finn. Today;s show was a tearjerker, and a heartbreaker.
Bring violet back and finn
I could live without Finn, but Violet was a delight and a wonderful little actor! She was one of my fave characters and I’d love for her to come back— with or without Finn!
Both finn and violet need to return. It is not displaying without them and their relationship
Bring them back

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
