And now for some more mamma drama! Judith Chapman is set for another return to The Young and the Restless in her role as Gloria Fisher.

That means that we hopefully will see scenes between Chapman and her two on-screen sons, Greg Rikaart (Kevin) and Christian LeBlanc (Michael).

Soap Opera Digest broke the bit of casting news.

Chapman was last seen in the role in 2018 and then headed over to Days of our Lives to play Diana for awhile.

Judith took over the role of Gloria in 2005 replacing Knots Landing favorite, Joan Van Atk.

Glad to hear Judith will be back on our daytime screens? Comment below.

I wish they would bring Jeff along with her but I am happy that she will be in town to mix it up with Michael and Kevin. Y&R is in need of SOME kind of CPR! The show is flatlining!

I haven’t recognized this show for quite a while now.

Agree. B&B is on fire and can’t miss. Y&R is the opposite but I stay tuned in. Gloria will be welcomed back when she arrives in town.

HI Timmm- long time
Perhaps Gloria and Jack will hook-up..
He needs a side.. poor Jack-
he has gone a decade without sex LOL
And– Y&R has become very STINKO BLAH, what happened?

Hi Su000-long time, indeed! Jack needs a younger women who fans the flames and brings excitement! Not just sex, I mean maybe someone out to scheme him and disrupt the Abbott fortune. He and Gloria wouldnt be to interesting now because of all her backhanded behavior. Gloria and Ian Ward would be GOLD!

Timmm
You may just be on to something! I hear that Kristan Alphonso/ Hope is coming to Genoa City. She might be the right one for Jack. At least she’s closer in age, especially after that young gal they paired him up with last.

Huh? I wonder who she will play? Maybe a recast of Lola’s mom? I liked Jack and her together.

Jack? A decade without sex? Um…Emily, Genevieve, Nikki, Kelly, Phyllis, Kerri….

For some people that’s a lifetime…not a decade!

Oh, SusieQ!!–you kill me!!!!! Is that all you think about ? Sex?? LOL—-I do agree. Jackie-boy must be climbing the walls. Ha!!
I have a great idea—-why not bring back his son, Kemo? He must be in his 50’s by now—-but, TPTB can always ” rejuvenate ” him. I think Christopher Sean (Paul Narita, Sonny Kiriakis’ ex on DOOL) would be perfect!! Great actor —-and so hot!!
At least, there would be some diversity—-go off the monotony of this beaten path —

Suddenly, Amanda is a victim because she misses the sister she never knew. is this where we’re supposed to shed a tear or two?
Also, I must have missed the part where Phyllis had a sister????
There you go, su—–a perfect mate for Jack,

Hi, T—-I so agree with you. I am having a hard time getting back into my favorite show ( Y&R)—there’s no meat on my plate. All the storylines are bland—no flavor, no drama, no passion, no anticipation.
So, I hope Judith, whom I love, brings back that spark and intrigue which the show has lost along the way, and desperately needs.

What do you think of Billy and Lilly? You know its inevitable! I dont mind. I hated her with Cain!

Yes, T—-I do like the idea of Lily and Billy as a couple. For the first time since Thompson joined the Y&R cast, I have finally come to accept nuBilly —he,belongs, per se.
T&T, LOL—Tognoni and Thompson never did it for me—-even their incessant amorous sessions didn’t grab me—-That relation ship sort of turned me off and made me gag—-her brother-in-law?? —same with Victoria. I am yet to get used to the interchangeble bed-partners on soaps.
But, the sexual tension is definitely tangible with him and Lily—–I do hope TPTB are biding their time with these two—-that’s part of the fun.

PS—hey, T—-I wanted to add that Thompson, as Billy is finally showing character—a strong side of it. Good or bad, I don’t take to screwups and wimps much. —-that’s what I saw in Billy.
Thompson managed to take Billy out of that phase and mold him into an adult. with purpose. It remains to be seen what he makes of Billy, the man.

Thats a good observation and I coulndt agree more. One that I am still hung up on though is Adam. I still like Michael Muhney better than any of the others. He just had that inner demon-like quality like Victor has. This current Adam, good actor, but I just dont believe he could take over Newman and be good at it.

I know exactly what you mean, T.—-nuAdam has turned into a drooling misfit with Chelsea as his mother. Grow up—-
Why is he coddled? This storyline is convoluted. And, yes—-no one can walk in Muhney’s shoes in the role of Adam. As twisted as Adam was/is, the viewer couldn’t help but like him—-or at least, come to accept him—-just as it took me a long time to like Victor—-
NuAdam is too young, I think—-It’s hard for me to regard him as a man, husband and father.
Then, there’s Chelsea—I make it no secret that I vehemently dislike her— bad influence—enabling and cradling Adam only stumps his “growth”.
The only story that I like at the moment, is Abby’s and Chance’s. I love them together!! Now, all we need are Nina and Ronan. Imagine the friction—Phyllis, Nick, Ronan–Yeah— appealing…..

OMG, Abby and Chance are royalty!

I’m so thrilled Judith is returning to Y&R, this is fantastic news. I find Y&R boring, especially with Amanda being Hilary’s twin, I am tired of these twin stories, been there done that too many times. Come on Gloria, kick some butt girl!!!

Lorraine
I agree.I for one did not like Hilary. She certainly wasn’t the goddess Devon believes she was. Look what she did to his father, marrying him than taking up with his own son while he was still blind yet! Shame on both of them and isn’t it funny that they never bring that part up of betraying Neil?
At least Valerie seems like a good person. I don’t like the twin part either and Iam pretty sure the whole idea of her twin thing is to break up Devon and his girlfriend.

Best. News. Ever!! We have needed her forever. What great chemistry between Gloria and ck. Peter and Judith bring it…in spades. She has been sorely missed as much as Peter having a romantic story. Please, writing team; do these two goldmines justice!

Lets hope it is permanent and not just a ten-line visit.

They need to get her back permanently! Replace three of the younger, embarrassingly unskilled actors with Judith Chapman.

We need the Baldwins back to the days when they were stirring the pot and scheming from the rest of the uptight genoa city elitists
The Baldwins were always the darkhorse of society
This slapstick routine of kevin and chloe is lame, Michael Baldwin has fine and upstanding and popping in and out of other peoples scenes kissing ass with his goofy grin is complete bullshit and Gloria hitting the sheets with longtime nemisis Jack is out of character
Make them all villians again and in trouble and for heavens sake get some real drama in genoa city again
Josh Griffith is writing this show from a coma it seems! How does he still have a job. Or any job writing is pathetic. It should be illegal for this man to have a job
Watching y n r these days just makes me mad. #fireJoshGriffith

I agree with you Damien. I loved watching the reruns when they had Fisher Baldwin week. It left me wanting so much more. What they are writing now doesn’t compare to the good old days. I started binge watching the 1960’s soap Peyton Place and it is actually better than wbat Y&R is showing now. On a side note, I had a good laugh when Victor and Nick were discussing Kyle and his still being married to Lola. Victor has for kids by three different women, and Nicholas changes women every 5 minutes and they are handing out advice. You gotta love it.

The Baldwin-Fisher week was gold!!!!

About time! I hope it’s for a long time. Y&R needs Gloria.

This is great news, Y&R has been very average in recent weeks. Gloria is a welcome return, perhaps she and Jack can get it together and she could stick around for more than a short stint. This show needs help and Judith returning is a good start.

Y-E-S!!!!!

Oh thank God! I might actually start watching again.

I NO LONGER watch this so called, what they call Y&R, NOT…I said it before and I will say it again, WAKE UP CBS/SONY…but the higher ups haven’t listen to the fans so you know what, I am finished wasting my time in saying anything…this is it for CBS/SONY DO NOT LISTEN…Let me tell you, there will be NO MORE Y&R if you don’t do anything to correct what’s wrong…

Well that’s a reason to try watching Y&R again… at least for Chapman’s scenes. That 5 month break changed nothing. What the eff are the writers doing over there? Y&R is absolutely unwatchable. I have never said that about a soap in 40 years of watching. Haven’t been able to get through a full episode in 2020.

Chris McKenna Speaks Out On His Final Day as ‘General Hospital’s’ Jack Brennan with Words of Wisdom to ‘Finish Strong’

Chris McKenna

When Jack Brennan was found dead and floating in the Metro Court pool on the September 1 episode of General Hospital, it unfortunately meant the end of the road for Chris L. McKenna, who had returned to the soaps to play the WSB Port Charles Bureau Chief.

As with any death on the soaps, and a litany of subjects in this whodunit, Brennan’s death opened the door to more story, as fans are still grappling with the decision to kill off the character.

The bittersweet exit was not the first time Chris had been written out of a soap. On The Young and the Restless, Chris played detective Mark Harding from 2014-2015, who ended up dead, and guess who was in that scene? None other than GH’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) when he was over at the CBS soap opera taking on the role of Dylan McAvoy.

Now. on an all-new episode of the That’s Awesome podcast with Burton and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli, GH) released on Friday, September 18, the duo welcomed Chris McKenna direct from Clearwater, Florida.

MAKING SURE PAIGE HERSCHELL WAS OK

During the conversation, Chris explained how his last day went and how he went about lifting the spirits of the GH cast and crew with very special attention to Paige Herschell (ex-Jacinda Bracken).

McKenna shared how he knew for a bit about his departure, before the rest of the cast knew he was exiting the show, explaining. “I had time to process it. It had been a surprise to many, to me, and to many people in the building when it first happened. But by this point, Paige Herschell found out at the same time that she wasn’t going to be coming back. She had her last day, the day before mine.”

“Paige hadn’t been through this before. I had,” shared the soap vet. “I had a show that was on the air and it was in primetime, and then it got canceled. I thought it was devastating, and that I was never going to work again. So, this has happened so many times to me (throughout my career), that I don’t get rattled anymore by it.”

WHEN YOU GET BAD NEWS …

McKenna said he wanted to go out on a high note: “It was important to me to make sure, first of all, everybody else felt comfortable because everybody felt bad and felt sad and felt upset. I was like, ‘It’s fine. We’re okay. I’m going to be fine. So, let’s make sure everyone’s okay.'”

Out of concern for his exiting co-star, Chris recalled, “I wanted to make sure that Paige got her flowers, and she had her attention and got her send off appropriately. I wanted to make sure I hugged her and told her to finish strong. It it was important to me, and also I was working with the kids (Scarlett, Danny). I try to be a mentor to some of the younger actors as well.”

LEAVING PORT CHARLES

The message Chris wanted to impart before he left the GH studios for the last time was, “I’ve been doing this so long, so I wanted to show them how to handle it. When you get bad news, it doesn’t have to devastate you, and it’s not the end of the world, and to make sure everybody’s laughing and having fun. I tried to make the the last day fun for everybody else, so that everybody could enjoy it with me.”

You can check out the full discussion with Chris with Steve and Bradford below.

Now let us know, are you still sad over the departures of Chris McKenna and Paige Herschell? What do you think about Chris’ motivational message to “finish strong?” Share your thoughts via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Casts Australian-Born Wil Traval as the Mysterious Jude

Published

Wil Travel

General Hospital is welcoming yet another new face to the canvas when Australia native Wil Traval join the cast as a mysterious stranger named Jude, who will arrive in Port Charles come October.

Traval becomes the second new Australian-born actor to join the cast. It was back on July 13, that GH viewers first saw Dean Geyer in the role of Dr. Tristan Roberts, whose name is an homage to the late Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio, GH). Could Jude and Tristan be related?

If not that theory, might Jude join the mystery involving JJE (Jasper Jacks Enterprises), which is currently under the investigation by the WSB? Since Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) father, Jasper Jacks, is from down under, could Jude be connected business-wise or otherwise, to the mysterious Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel) who came to Port Charles with several agendas?

FROM DOWN UNDER TO PORT CHARLES

Traval is a native of Victoria, Australia, who had a recurring role in Season 3 of The CW’s Dynasty. In the primetime soap reboot, Traval played Father Caleb Collins, whose faith was put to the test when he developed feeling for Cristal Carrington (Daniella Alonso).

The GH newcomer is no newcomer to TV and film roles with an extensive credits including: Netflix’s Messiah and Jessica Jones, ABC’s Red Widow and Grey’s Anatomy, Arrow, Chicago P.D., Grimm and Once Upon a Time, to name but a few.

In his homeland of Australia, Traval is best known for portraying Dr. Jack Quade in the medical drama All Saints, and Detective Peter Church in the crime drama White Collar Blue.

So far in the last couple of months, General Hospital had brought on the following casting additions, the aforementioned Geyer and Appel, plus Kayden Brenna Tokarski (Scout Cain), Kelly Kruger (Serena Baldwin), Alimi Ballard (William Baines), Kearran Giovanni (Dr. Nichols) and Blythe Howard, who will debut next week on the Wednesday, September 23 episode as Monet.

So, with all the newbies hitting the screens on GH, is hard for you to keep up, or are you excited to see how Jude fits into the storyline with the arrival of Wil Traval this fall? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section.
