And Guiding Light’s Alan Spaulding the multi-talented Ron Raines scored a huge get when he landed a Tony nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical!  Ron was nominated for his role in the revival of Follies!  He will compete against Danny Burstein – Follies, Jeremy Jordan – Newsies,  Steve Kazee – Once, Norm Lewis – The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess.

Also of note:  Latin and Pop singing sensation, Ricky Martin did not receive a nomination for his role of Che in the revival of Evita, which is getting him mixed reviews.  For the complete list of Tony nominees click here!  Once again the Tony telecast will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

I love Broadway. Daytime drama was best in NYC with theatre actors working days on TV and nights on the boards. these two — Light and Raines — are among the best.
