Days Of Our Lives
Kassie DePaiva Heading To Days Of Our Lives?

Some more great news could be officially forthcoming from NBC’s Days of our Lives, and it would be involving one of the most beloved stars of One Life to Live, Kassie DePaiva (Blair).
DePaiva had hinted that something was in the work in her recent blog on her website right after the New Year stating, “Good things are ahead this year and I hope to have more to report very soon.” Meanwhile, TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan seemed to all but announce that the “good things” DePaiva was referring to is landing a role on DAYS. Logan tweeted: “DONE DEAL? I’m hearing it’s OFFICIAL! @KassieDePaiva @nbcdays @DaysofourLives #DOOL #Days #daysofourlives”
This would be an excellent talent acquisition for the longest running scripted series in NBC history, not only because of DePaiva’s talent, but because of the strength of her fan base, who would tune-in to DAYS perhaps for the first time, bringing the series some new eyeballs.
So, what do you think of Kassie in Salem? What kind of role do you think the powers-that-be have mind for her? Let us know!

ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

Great News!
I was hoping GH would offer her a job. Franco and Carly, just does not work. I was hoping they would set her up with Franco. Meantime, I do not watch any other soaps, just because someone I love is on them. If I did that, they would get more neilson ratings, and then GH would go off the air. I am still fighting for abc to see the mistake they made by cancelling all my children, and one life to live. If I watch other soaps, that will never happen.
Well, technically, by watching DAYS OF OUR LIVES, an NBC-TV show, the so called genius Execs at ABC SHOULD get a message, and that message is it was a huge mistake taking All My Children off the air. Many fans have crossed over to NBC already, since DOOL is a “true” Soap set in a “true” little soap town, not unlike Pine Valley. ABC has lost it’s Afternoon Line up edge and I’m sure they know it. So, I’m a fairly new viewer to DOOL and it is well acted and holds my interest so I have no reservations about watching it – believe me, like many other loyal ALL MY CHILDREN fans I will never forgive ABC for what they did – and although I can appreciate that there was a brief On-line relaunch which I did watch, I was not overly impressed with the OnLine inceptions – long and short of it is I’m not watching ABC programs and at one time ABC Soaps were ALL that I watched, back in the day. I am sure as time moves along other familiar actors will show up in Salem.
Abc would love to get rid of GH also. If you start watching other soaps, and GH loses in neilson ratings, then abc gets what they want. I use to watch everything on abc, then watch young and restless, bold and beautiful, and days, when they were on soapnet. The only interesting person on days, was always the phenix ( demiero) and Marlena. Never held my interest, not even then. But once abc cancelled the two soaps, and said they would be cancelling GH the next year. I never watch anything on abc, except GH, and had to stop watching any other soaps, so that we would not lose GH as well. Your thinking is way off, that by watching other soaps, abc will realize their mistake . By watching other soaps, abc will resize , they were right to cancel our soaps. I will never give up on all my children and one life to live, and will do anything , to make sure we don’t lose GH too.
Had she gone to GH…i wouldve wanted her to play Nina, Silas’s wife, who suddenly wakes up from her 20 year coma and struggles to adjust to so much lost time. Scenes with her fighting with Ava wouldve been awesome!!!
Who would she play? Seems like Days’ plate is already quite full.
I want days to stop adding people and use the people they already have to, Enough is enough, days is beginning to feel like the show that takes all the cancelled soaps discards/rejects. I don’t want to see her or Daniel Cosgrove(who is on contract, but should be reoccurring) would love to see more Mark Collier (who is reoccurring but should be on contract) I have enjoyed the additions of Chrishell Stause & Greg Vaughan over the past year Bring back more of the vets and give them air time, instead of adding all these new characters/faces. The way things are going we see Deidre Hall about 3-5 minutes a week and I bet the same will be true for Drake Hogestyn, which will be a huge disappointment to many fans of John and Marlena! Would love to see James Reynolds involved more again, the Hayes, Patsy Pease, Charles Shaughnessy, Catherine Mary Stewart.
Well, I guess Daniel is Hope’s new love interest.
It’s been nice to see Julie more, even is she is channeling Jessica Fletcher, whom I love.
Who did Catherine Mary Stewart play?
When you say Catherine Mary Stewert, do you mean Mary Beth Evans?
I think you should mean Mary Beth Evans. Not Catherine Mary Stewart.
Yes….sorry….how did I do that, I thought I even checked to make sure I got it right… although I really liked the original Kayla also, I thought she was one of the few people who really worked well with Josh Taylor, Chris Kositchek. I could have shipped them back in the day. LOL
Great news for DAYS fans! Would love if DePaiva was playing a woman who was connected to Marlena somehow– where is the rest of the Evans family anyway?
Marlenas sister named Samantha was murdered by the Salem strangler in the early 1980s…she was her twin sister who the killer mistakenly thought she was Marlena…she was played by her real life twin Andrea Hall!
Yes, I know about Samantha. And wasn’t her cousin also killed? But what about her parents who raised Eric and Sami for a while? There must be some other family, too.
I think her cousin was Trista who was murdered in a different storyline…but not by the Salem Strangler…also, Marlena’s mother was briefly shown in the 1970s when her sister Samantha was causing trouble…other than them i dont recall any other family members…she did have a son from Don Craig years before she married Roman but he died when a few months old…she also had another stepdaughter besides Carrie Brady…Donna Craig, Don’s daughter, who was played by Tracy Bergan-Y&R’s Lauren!
Once in a while, it is mentioned that Marlena’s parents live in Denver Colorado.
I remember Marlena cousin was Trista, she married Eugene Bradford, but later was murder by the Salem Slasher, so that another part of Marlena family who is gone.
If KdP does come into Marlena picture, I wonder if she might be one of the Orpheus childre..Or a character who took care of that baby Roman & Marlena suppose created during their sizzling romance in 1986 😉 lol
I wonder would she play a new character or someone from the past? I could almost see her as a Samantha Brady recast but that would be waaaaaaaaaay to soon.
No, she’s too old.
Too old for that part…maybe shes Kristen with a makeover but i doubt it…
I don’t know her that well, but the little I have seen of her she could bring some new energy, pizazz, sass, and spark to Days since Sami is leaving. We shall see…
I think it’s awesome!
Very stoked that Kassie DePaiva will be joining “Days of Our Lives”, it is helping my mom and I deal with Alison Sweeney’s devastating announcement that she is leaving.
21 years of Sami is more than enough. Let’s take a break, regroup, and refocus. Life goes on.
I agree! An average character would have to stay for forty years to equal her airtime. This makes room for others!!!
I’ll watch for the first time ever the day she appears!
Hi Margie, You may want to tune in as soon as possible to know everything you can, so you’re not lost. She may be part of an existing family. No soap does family drama better DAYS!!! I hope you have fun in Salem!!!
The HOTTEST woman on SOAPS
E.V.E.R. !!!!!!!!!!
The new Sammy??
Kassie DePaiva is too old to play Sami Brady!
Too old…
Not really. Alison Sweeney looks older than her age (37) and Kassie DePaiva looks younger than hers (52) so it would be a perfect fit.
Plus, DePaiva is ten times hotter!!!
I completely AGREE! Can’t you just picture Kassie with EJ?? Now that is what I call HOT!!
she needed to come back to GH
No Thanks! Her character would be horrible just like SilAss, Kaka and FrancoTodd….
Oh no!
it would be a good thing!
I previously said they should introduce Jordans family…so maybe Jordans mother unless Eve returns and is her mother like some suggested…or maybe she’ll be Liams estranged wife…or a blast from the past like Trish, Julies daughter in law or Sandy Horton…im fine with whoever she plays!!!
She’ll be playing Susan Banks, after a makeover!
Great news, maybe she can be a kristen dimera recast.
Id like her real life husband James Depaiva to join as Peter Blake, ,Kristens brother…i had other choices but now he’d be good in the part…Peter had drug dealings in the past and could be behind Salems current drug problems!
Happy for her, but I want to see OLTL on ABC with Kassie DePaiva as Blair!
ABC does not own OLTL!! With over 95 million dollar lawsuit on the line… AMC and OLTL are gone from the network for good!! Thanks ABC for ruining your agreement with PP!!
good lord… so many good ideas!
could we see her as a bad girl DiMera! Kristen? I like the idea that she could be Jordan’ Mother…. fighting for her daughter.. with whomever… so Jordan, doesn’t have to be on the lam… with all these identities…
or… kin to Marlena…. or Susan….
I just want that DAYS of OUR Lives continues on… as it has…. expertly weaving intricately shared cast story line.
LOVE THIS.
all I really know her from … is from her short stint on GH… and the nuOLTL on line. and I loved her with Roger Howarth’ Todd.
Absolutely great news. It will be amazing to see her on tv again.
Fantastic news. Sweet lady that I met in the Nashville airport. I hope she is a character that comes on and makes an immediate impact. I would love to see her come back as Sarah Horton, Maggie’s adopted daughter.
There are too many secrets relvolving Jordan’s character and it is time for some of them to be revealed. I hope she is running from a dangerous ex-husband. I love Jen Lilly, but the character of Theresa does not seem to have any redeeming qualities except when she has a scene with Caroline.
I agree it is time to let us know who Jordan really is– but I doubt she be running from an ex— with all those identities it seems more like she is in a witness protection program or the child of con artist or spy parents. Also they did the dangerous husband thing a couple years ago with Madison, the lady Brady was engaged to, but died. As for Theresa, all the bad girls start off the same way, with no redeeming qualities, but if they become popular they usually start making more human, more misunderstood rather than just bad— and if they find romance– it usually with a hero type who will try to reform her.
I actually suggested Jordan should be running from an abusive husband…a Sleeping With The Enemy type storyline…several posts ago…it could be Liam or Aiden, the two new men in Salem. Good others think the same!!!
Hopefully it’s someone new and not a recast.
Love Kassie DePaiva. Look forward to seeing her on Days.
She will be the next Allison Sweeney!
well, good for her! but, guess that means OLTL 2.0 is gone for good! I hate that PP did that to the cast/crew and us. First it’s online (before it ended on tv), then wait no, not online. Then yes online, but short “seasons” and trouble with unions, might move to another state/studio, no wait, we’re staying. Writers let go. Short season #1, hiatus before #2… no wait, let’s sue ABC for our failures, and then **Poof** — gone!
so good for Kassie, move on girl! She’s a hot commodity and she shouldn’t put up with that nonsense and wait and see… all over again!
No, OLTL is not gone forever. Do we even know how long Kassie’s contract is?
OLTL could reboot and T&B are off on their honeymoon and a year abroad.
Go, PP. I’ll always support them for trying so hard.
Count me in as delighted! Now THIS is A-list casting I was talking about in a post weeks ago. Daniel Cosgrow, Mike Collier etc, no disrespect WHATSOEVER, but DAYS needed to cast a HEAVYWEIGHT in the soap world.
Of all the soaps, DAYS is probably the only one that doesn’t pick off big names, or at least does it the more infrequently. YR (especially under MAB) does it the most (Debbie Morgan, Genie Francis, Tristan Rogers, Steve Burton to name a few) but BB and GH do it a lot too (Crystal Chappel, Scott Clifton, Heather Tom, Maura West, Emme Rylan respectively). While in theory it’s smart of soaps to use big names with big fan bases, as we’ve seen so many times, it does not always equal a home run. More often than not because they write in a role just so the newly acquired actor has a part. DAYS to me seems like they do it the other way around- they hire based on talent and who is right for the role. They don’t create a character for anyone. So with saying this, if true, it would lead me to conclude they feel Kassie is the best person for an upcoming role, and it would just so happen that she is a major player in the soap world with a pretty loyal following. Two birds. Love it!
Hope she kills it on DAYS!
@ MO and 4EvaDays: Catherine Mary Stewart was the first Kayla in 1982 and 1983. Mary Beth Evans took over in 1985.
I’d like to see Kassie play Sarah Horton. I’ve always thought there was more story there to tell.
My guess would be possibly she would be the new Kristen since the previous actress has vacated the role. Seems that she would be in that age-bracket for the role and I could see her as the new Sammi but she’s a tad mature for the part and I don’t mean that unkindly it’s just a fact.
I’m just curious – would most Fans prefer to see her appear as a Brand New Character in Salem?
I thought of her in some recast roles or a new one as Jordans mother!!! I also think why not as a recast Jessica, Nicks mother!!!
You always have good ideas Jim! The good thing about DAYS is that there so many ways to weave new characters in while rooting them solidly. There are so many Hortons we havent seen or heard from in years, and there is no reason why Jordan couldnt be related to half the town. There are decades of time gaps and rich history waiing to be mined. Whoever the bring Kassie on as, I hope they dont make he “MADISON MISTAKE” and bring her on as a nobody or as some random bitch. Whoever she plays, though…is anyone else salivating of a bitchfest smackdown between DePaiva and Koslow??? Id pay for ringside seats.
Yea!!!
That would be frickin awesome!!!! I think she should play Sandy Horton. I just watched some vintage clips of DAYS…there was this character Sandy Horton…DePaiva could easily play her. they both had dirty blonde hair. That would root her into the history of the show. Best I knew…this Sandy character was pretty much a non-entity…she could be besties with Hope and Jennifer…she could have relationships with ANYONE…Roman, Daniel, etc…..Pamela Roylance was the name of the actress….if any of you want to google her. DePaiva would rock in that role.
I suggested Sandy too…or Julies ex daughter-in-law Trish originally played by Patty Weaver…Trish was a singer on the show from the mid 70s to early 80s and since Kassie is a singer and sung on OLTL she could perform on Days too!!!
GH’s lost is DOOL gain! Big mistake FV & RC.
I was just reading some tidbits about Days and discovered a cast list from the early years to today….maybe they could introduce DePaiva as Donna Craig and they could bring back Don Craig (Jed Allan), Marlena’s first love, before the Bradys hit town…..or possibly as Melissa Horton, she could interact with Maggie and the other Hortons, plus she’s been living in Nashville and she could come on the show and sing country…..she has a great voice…..just some thoughts!!!!!
“ooh” I like your wordage
“excellent Talent acquisition”
kudos to DOOL.. and production… for helming my favorite show… all cylinders… on go… onward and upward
I’d welcome this lady…. with her legions of fans…. to help elevate
Big fan of Kassie’s and will be happy to see her on Days. It would be fun if she could come on as Rebecca, Daniel’s deceased (ahhh, maybe not?) wife. God knows she would be a better match to him than Jennifer and the man-hungry Theresa.
