Fan favorite Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer, OLTL & GH) took to her blog on her website KassieDePaiva.com to share her sentiments and the outpouring of love she has felt from her fans, and getting to work with the cast and crew of General Hospital, as she just taped some new scenes that she teases! In addition, Kassie also touches upon the devastation in the New York area from Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy!  Below are Kassie’s words …

Kassie DePaiva: “What tough week New York City had and the surrounding areas.  Such loss and devastation to one of the greatest areas in this country.  But New York is great and it’s people are resilient and it will come back… We were safe and had power. Susan Batten and Truitt stayed for a couple of nights until their power was restored. My time at General Hospital was postponed for a week… Which gave me more time to learn my lines … But I was eagerly awaiting a flight to Los Angeles.  I finally flew out on Sunday and I worked all day on Monday. I must say I was deeply moved by the show of appreciation from my fans this time around at General Hospital. ”

“I received three dozen gorgeous longstem red roses, a cute little stuffed animal, a box of chocolates, many beautiful balloons, and another bouquet of gorgeous flowers. I don’t think in my 19 years at One Life to live I have ever received that much love in one day. I can’t thank you enough. Here is what one note said:  ‘Always remember your fans recognize and appreciate all your work that you put into creating Blair Cramer.  We love you and welcome you back to the role that was meant for you. Team TnB’ers Unforgettable.'”

“It was truly too sweet and I so appreciate it. You guys are unforgettable!!!! You know I love soaps. You know I loved One Life to Live. You know I love playing Blair. Thank you all for supporting my career for so long. I hope everyone will be happy with this next little stint on General Hospital.  Most of the time was spent with Robin Christopher (Skye), Florencia Lozano (Tea), Laura Wright (Carly)…. Three incredibly talented powerful women that I have so enjoyed sharing the stage with And most importantly my life with. I have truly been blessed and this week I am feeling most grateful for all the goodness and good people in my world.”

So are you happy to know that Kassie has taped more scenes in Port Charles?  Are you looking forward to seeing scenes between Blair, Skye, Tea and Carly?  Let us know!

Skye? Was that an oops?

No. Robin Christopher IS doing a return stint on GH.

Blair and Tea scenes are long overdue! I’m surprised they haven’t shared scenes on GH yet. Miss them on OLTL and miss OLTL beyond word.

Dear Danielle:

Believe me you are NOT the only one. I ha been watching it MOST of my life and as you watch them everyday they are kinda like or become like family. I miss the entire ast but Especally Vicki, Dorian, David Vickor-Buchanan, Danielle, Sam, Clint & Asa’s Butler too the English guy, Hi name escapes me at the momment.

incerely, Joe

Kassie DePaiva rocks and so does Blair! My fave character for years. Can’t wait, sounds so good!

Skye is probably returning for Edwards funeral.

I can not wait to see Blair’s return to General Hospital. Blair and Tea have a love/hate friendship so the scenes should be fun to watch. Also with Skye and Carly in the mix… Watch your back Blair! Kassie DePaiva needs a contract on General Hospital and needs to show Carly who Todd’s heart belongs to!

YEP!

Now you’re talking! Would love to see a contract be put on the table for Kassie. I’m thinking what’s brewing between Carly and Todd is the prelude to that happening.

I am looking forward to seeing more of Blair on General Hospital!

Well im glad Kassie had a good time, im just wondering why so many characters that have NOT been a part of the show are now coming back, id like the usual storylines to continue and ONLY the week before the anniversary have people back!!!

I am happy that the old timers have returned that is what is really making the show now!! i want them here now and always, not just for Anniversary week!

I agree we want the so called old times now and always not just around the anniversary. GH is now the oldest daytime drama still on the air, it needs reapect and love to be shown for it. I have watched it since I was a toddler of the age of 2. I remember it well from age 3 on. I wish the beloved characters from the beginning were all still alive to be a part of the Anniversary, I also love that our beloved OLTL characters are still dong their part to keep it going through GH. We now want them to put on some of the beloved stars from AMC too as well as the stars of OLTL and the current and former GH stars. We love all of you and want to see you now and in the future!! GH lover almost from the very beginning!!

Love Kassie and wish Blair was on GH all the time. They need a bitch with a heart over there. Can’t wait to see Kassie on GH again. I wish she had more scenes with RH. Todd and Blair forever!!!

Couldn’t agree more!!

For sure 100%

I’m so very excited to see Kassie DePaiva return in the role as Blair Cramer! Missing OLTL beyond words can express but so happy for her recurring return appearances on GH! May there be many more of them! She is a very talented actress & a beautiful person with a heart of gold I’m happy to have met & know.

Can’t wait to see Kassie DePaiva’s Blair arrive in Port Charles! Wish she would be put on contract at GH…

Me too JoAnn!

Kassie is such a classy lady and a wonderful actress.
GH would be so much better with Blair in town permanently.

So excited to see Kassie reprise her role, and be back on screen with Florencia and Roger. Awesome news, cannot wait to hear when Frank finally realizes the gold mine he is sitting on and brings her back full time when he can.

I have been waiting for a Blair and skye cat-fight! It has been over 10 years and now they will meet up again in PC.

Get her a full contract!

I cant wait for Kassie to bring blair back to gh. Blair is one of my favorite soap characters an i love TnB together. Blair, Skye, and Carly, Tea in scenes together is a dream come true. While i am not a carly fan i did LOVE the friend chemistry between blair and carly. I hope they can become like Viki and Dorian on oltl Frenemies!!! This sounds good cant wait!

Patiently waiting for that to happen.

Love Blair! I’ve missed her so much, can’t wait to see her on GH! They need to bring her on as a permanent character.

As much as I love T&B, and the magic Kassie and Roger create together as Todd and Blair, it’s good that she’s getting to mix it up with others on GH. Am especially looking forward to Blair’s scenes with Skye, and would love to see Blair have a storyline mixing it up with the Qs. We adore Kassie and she gives Blair so much heart and warmth…I hope General Hospital makes her a regular member of the cast soon.

Blair lovers united for her return to full time status if possible!

Blair and Skye together again, along with Todd, I hope? Those three are freaking funny together, they all hate one another so much. xD

I was catching up on old Todd/Blair/Max/Skye scenes on YouTube. This reunion is one that was a no brainer when Todd moved to Skye’s stomping grounds.

I love Kassie and am glad she is visiting GH. I wish Frank V. would give her the contract she deserves!

Love having Kassie back for what I hope is just the start of many stints. Kassie and Roger are pure magic together and GH needs to hire her on a permanent basis. Going to love seeing Blair mixing it up with Skye, Tea and Carly as well.

Blair….has to be back. ABC has to be either stupid or dealing with some kind of red tape for waiting this long….Todd and Blair cannot be matched on any network or any show.

Hope there is so much more in store for Kassie DePaiva. Her fans love her, the enthusiam she brings to her role as Blair Cramer is contagious! I can’t wait to see her on the screen where she dominates and embodies the spirit of her craft. Wonderful addition to the show, wonderful asset to General Hospital and truly a joy to behold.

I’m incredibly happy that Kassie has taped scenes for GH. If only they would realize that having Kassie on contarct would bring so much more to the show!!!!!

Can’t wait to see Kassie again. I am so looking forward to scenes between such powerhouse women as her, Robin and Florencia. They are all fierce and I love to see a showcase of strong women.

I also hope to see Kassie’s Blair return and face off with Todd because there is simply nothing better than those two. Todd is a freaking mess and Blair needs to come back and help straighten him out again. Todd’s always going to be bad but does he have to be soulless, too? Not as long as Blair is around!

More Blair!

Gorgeous post.

Love Blair and Kassie sounds like the sweetest woman. Four episodes is not enough! Todd and Blair’s one of a kind relationship and a potential feud with Skye could entertain fans throughout GH’s duration. I hope the show-runners make it happen.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Kassie and Blair! She seriously deserves a contract!!!! Looking forward to her scenes with Skye – Todd & Blair vs. Skye was fantastic on OLTL back in 2000/2001. Not a fan of Tea or Carly, but I’m all for their scenes together if it means more Blair coming… and a bonus would be if she shoved them both out the window! Can’t wait for her first scenes to air, and especially for Todd to be in character again. Carly best watch out – she’s got NOTHING on Blair! T&B Forever!!!

I adore her and whenever she is on GH it is the only time I tune in. I have followed her from her beginnings at OLTL and will follow her to GH whenever she is on. Thnx for all the great performances KDP. I can’t wait for her stint this time and just wish GH would keep her on all the time.

Love KDP & I LOVE her portrayal of Blair. I can’t, for the life of me, understand why GH won’t give her a full on contract. I’m fan of both GH & OLTL, but ABC really jipped OLTL fans by promising them Mannings and then only putting RH & KA on contract. And no, putting Todd with Carly is not putting him with a Blair substitute. Blair has a million more heart & growth than Carly while being able to retain her bitch-like qualities. I’m glad RC/Skye is coming back to the show because this would have been the perfect character through which the Mannings could have been introduced to Port Charles from the start, considering the past Skye shares with both Todd & Blair. I’m glad to hear that they’ll all be sharing scenes though. I also think that Carly deserves a smackdown from Blair because obviously, she doesn’t have enough class to not put the moves on her friend’s exes or at least someone she instantly friendly with.

GH has improved a great deal recently; I especially like the resurrection of the Quartermaines.

But a full time return of the Manning family is what would make the show must watch. Todd and Starr aren’t Todd and Starr without Blair; they’re depressing instead of fun.

PLEASE let this be KDP’s last guest stint and her next return be full time’

Honestly I’ll be happier to know that she will be on GH more regularly. I stopped watching GH when the storylines changed from family, drama, action and love to mobster, guns and violence. I only tuned back because it was announced that some of our favorite characters from OLTL were headed to GH. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was that Kassie was not part of that cross-over. But like they say, it’s never too late to fix this so here’s hoping the people at ABC make good on their promise and bring Blair Cramer to GH ASAP.

Love Kassie being back on GH but 4 days is way too short. Kassie needs to be on GH full time. There is too much Todd and Blair story left to tell, they just found each other again after 8 years of Todd being in captivity and have had obstacles ever since, starting with OLTL getting canceled. TnB and their fans deserve a well told reunion story, and the Mannings should be a new cornerstone family on this show. GH contract for KDP please!!!

Looking forward to seeing Kassie again on GH soon. Wish she was appearing permanently, one of the loveliest and most talented actresses in daytime.

I’m extremely Kassie is coming back to GH. I really think RC and FV are missing out on great story lines that could be created by adding KDP to the GH contract! She’s a wonderful actress watch her grow up as Blair Cramer , I’m sure there would be fireworks if they brought back super couple Todd and Blair!!

Four words….. HELL YEAH I’m happy. Now when is she coming back? Better question, when are they signing her?

bringing Kassie DePaiva full time to General Hospital would only be in the show’s best interest. This is not to say I’m particularly a fan of GH but if she comes I will be. There’s nothing like the couple of Todd and Blair which you obviously can’t have without her and I’m willing to hang in there until she appears and then start watching. Hopefully, the powers that be will realize what they are holding right in the palms of their hands and that is a pot full of gold in the form of the Supercouple T&B. ABC has this couple, both actors still intact, clearly willing to do the story, and complete with a huge fan following. Wake up ABC, Frank Valentini, Ron Carlivati and whoever is responsible for the wasted 10 months.

Ecstatic is more like it. I was happy during her March visit and overjoyed during her July visit. Can you imagine my feelings if she was on permanently? Kassie DePaiva is one in a million and Kassie and Roger together or better known as RoKa and TnB to the many fans that fell under their spell is GREATNESS ON SCREEN.

What a class act… That is why we love KDP and Blair

We need Blair FULL TIME!!! Love seeing more of the Quartermaines! Love GH again. Love the variety of actors! Great Job RV/RC except for one big mistake! Joe Scully should have been kept!!!!! Bring back Joe Scully and hire Blair full time! Too much talent to waste!

OMG. Blair and Skye. Can’t wait!

yeah, sky is back too, omg gh is awesome!

I’m thrilled beyond words that Kassie’s making a return trip to Port Charles and hope this will lead to a contract. Anyone who watched the Todd and Blair scenes last July could see the chemistry Kassie and Roger possess, as well as Todd’s love for Blair and vice versa. It’s criminal they’re not working together full-time on GH.

There aren’t many supercouples left on daytime, but if Kassie gets a contract then one of the few remaining supercouples will have a chance to shine again. Come on, GH, put Todd out of all of his misery…permanently bring back his One True Babe, Blair Cramer.

Good news for OLTL fans. Kassie coming back to GH will likely break up Carly and Todd. I’m happy about that. Roger Howarth is doing the best acting on GH right now. He is consistent in his role. You hate him and you love him.I don’t think he will be leaving GH any time soon……

So great to hear that Blair and Kassie are coming back to Port Charles. Todd really needs her. She calms the voices in his head, truly.

I’m excited to have Kassie/Blair and Robin/Skye back, but not too sure about Florencia/Teá. However, those three women, along with Carly, could make for some dynamic story-telling. Just hope they don’t screw it up…

I’m also hoping the ONLY reason Teá is back is to finally get the truth out about Todd’s involvement in the baby switch; then she can go away and never come back. Teá was pretty much ruined for me during all her GH visits with the over-acting, weeping and wailing. (I feel bad about that because I used to like her most of the time on OLTL.)

Blair on GH is like heaven on earth. Fans have been waiting for years for a Todd and Blair payoff. That can only help GH by keeping the One Life to Live fans. Since One Life was cancelled, but actually had the best ratings of the three shows, it makes sense for the TPTB to do this and draw One Lifers in. When GH fans complain about that, I just shake my head. It’s saving the genre and your show to have the MOST fans possible watching! Go ahead Kassie, sign with GH as soon as you are offered, help save the genre on ABC, and bring us back Todd and Blair in full force.

Yep!

A GH viewer asked me on twitter why do I continue to campaign when it’s quite evident that ABC will not sign KDP. For a few hours that statement weighted on me and then something amazing happened. Obama stood before thousands in Chicago and appeared before millions on TV and said, “Hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us, so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting.” With one campaign down I am now, more than ever, hopeful and determined to kick up the Bring Blair Back campaign. For, too many of us do feel that stubborn thing inside that pushes us to keep reaching, keeping working and keep fighting for Kassie DePaiva on General Hospital.

The campaign is already back and in swing! Many are involved!

Maybe Edna has her own independant plan of action.

Ditt

You seriously just compared campaigning for some spoiled diva to get a part on soap to the president? smh

Maybe it’s just me, though I doubt it, but I didn’t read this and thought the poster was comparing campaigning for an actress to be signed to a daytime show equivalent to campaigning for the office of the Presidency. It seems to me that Edna has been campaigning for KDP while at the same time doubting if it was all worth it. I got from her post that on Tuesday she was reminded by a re-elected President that when you feel like giving up or doubting whether something is worth it, if you still have that something inside of you that is telling you differently then keep at it. But, like I said that’s what I read.

you rock edna!!! those of us who have watched kassie for DECADES feels she’s like family — and that’s worth fighting for. ron carlivati does not seem to want to write for her, but he should listen to her ginormous fan base.

I love all the old returnees and backstories that are being filled in currently on GH. I especially like the stories coming out about AJ but I think Frank and co. need to consider letting the audience in on more of Todd Manning’s background too. Bringing on Kassie De Paiva full time would give the audience a chance to see Todd with his one true babe and learn more about the man and his complicated life. He’s been existing in a bubble. With his “wife” beside him, they could turn Port Charles on it’s ear and face off against AJ and the strengthening Quartermaines. GH would be smart to take advantage of the chemistry between Roger Howarth and Kassie DePaiva . Kassie is a talented actress and I’m sure she’ll shine in this stint. I just wish they would make it permanent.

ITA

Can’t wait! Kassie’s last visit was amazing and I expect this one will be no different. Todd seems adrift without Blair and Carly is not the answer. There’s more story to tell between Todd and Blair…come on GH, tell it!

I cant wait to see the lovely Kassie DePaiva back on Air. i am so looking forward in seeing what in store for Blair just wish Kassie could stay on GH for good. Kassie is amazing Actress and beautiful person inside and out who i love so much!

MSE. She is indeed a beautiful person inside and out. I want to see her there at GH permanently.

I wish GH would give Kassie a contract! I miss OLTL everyday! I want it back!

I agree with you on everything you said….

Hope they bring Blair on in a more regular capacity. Todd is boring on GH without her.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
