Kassie DePaiva posts statement to clarify reprising OLTL's Blair on General Hospital!

Kassie DePaiva took to her website to let fans what she knows about her upcoming appearances on General Hospital in February to reprise the role of Blair Cramer. From what Kassie shared, it seems that DePaiva may be on for just a short stint, when the Mannings head to Port Charles, but there could be more in store for her in the future.
Kassie stated, “Now…on the General Hospital…Yippie. I must say the ads and press release by ABC is a little misleading and I feel I need to clarify to all my friends, family and fans that are emailing and calling wondering when I’m moving to Los Angeles. Frank Valentini, GH’s EP, asked me to come out for a couple of shows in February and I’m thrilled. Not only will I get to work with a fantastic cast…but a little piece of OLTL will live on. That makes me very happy. And who knows where it will lead. Once the Mannings come to town anything is possible.” I wish everyone at GH the best. No one loves daytime more than Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati and no one works harder than these two men. GH is in good hands and hopefully ABC will let GH live on!!!!! See ya’ll soon in Port Charles!!!!!! – Kassie”
So, what do you think will happen when the Manning clan hits Port Chuck? How would you feel if Kassie is only coming to GH for a short-arc run? Let us know!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

i think its great she will show a guest appearence but in all reality i much rather have OLTL than GH . Yes i like both but OLTL has a certian spirit about it that keeps all loyal dedicated viewers
So true! OLTL was the best soap on T.V.! I really miss it!
You are so right. OLTL is a show like no other & I am getting very depressed right now because normally at this time of day I start getting excited thinking about it fixing to come on in just a little while but not today . . . .
the wrong soap got cancelled.. Love em both but OLTL is/was heads and tails above the rest.
how could a soap lover say any soap should of been cancelled, neither AMC or OLTL should of been cancelled nor should GH.
I agree with you, Brandy. They should leave our soaps on the air.
Well, as Todd would say, this sucks! If Kassie is going to be on GH for only a short time, I’d assume the same woud be true for Roger Howarth. If they’re only going to be there to bring Starr and McBain into the story, I’m afraid I won’t be sticking around after they leave. Starr only seems to have spunk when her father’s around to cause trouble and McBain is such a monotone character in his eternal black, that I don’t see HIM being a ray of light for the already too dark GH. And If they’re only coming for a “couple of shows,” shame on ABC for publicizing it look like they’re to be major players in a storyline, using them to get people excited about the possibility, and once again deceiving the viewers.
I’ve heard that John is permanent. It’s only the Mannings that are temp.
Exactly, It’s McBain the boring and Starr who will be permanent.. and I won’t. I’d stick around for Todd and Blair, but not for John and Starr. I know there those who think MxBain’s great, but I’m not one of them. And no, I’m not threatening to “quit watching” the show – I haven’t watched in years, since the mob took over.
Im thinking its to test the ratings, it would be foolish to let 2 million fans go without trying to attract some of One Life to Lives audience. Im not a fan of GH at all but I fully intend to see what Ron and Frank have in store for OLTL fans.
I agree Rob!! 🙂
Here we go again. People ‘threatening’ to stop watching if they don’t get their own way. Then STOP!
How can Ron sign any of these characters on long term with the uncertainty of GH future?? IMO he is being causious but hopefull.
Causious not to sign on to many, hopeful this will be a success and GH will draw in viewers. Thus no end to GH. However nobody can make such promises at this time.
Glad to see Kassie clear that up. I read on some site that NLG sent Blair a list of schools for her son. Obviously, there was no truth to that.
Didn’t Cassie look fantastic on The View Friday?
She did!
Seriously gorgeous. I don’t think she’s human.
What is John McBain without Natalie and his son? I would love to see the Manning’s join GH what a hoot that would be, but please for heavens sake please bring us back the original Cole, sorry I did not like the one you tried to pass off on us, sorry no chemistry there between him and Starr. Don’t get me wrong I love my people on GH but we are losing some of them. I also want Kirsten Storms to return and soon, boy do I miss her, hopefully they are not replacing her with that new girl, although she has done an okay job there is no one like Kirsten Storms.
Right there with you. John just got Liam & Natalie back, why would he leave them? How is GH going to make this work and with Sole? I was so happy to see them have the happy ending. I will only really watch & stick around if they have Brandon Buddy, the orginial Cole come to Port Charles with Starr. Again, how is GH going to make this work? Starr just comes to Port Charles for her father & leaves Hope in LA with Cole? I can’t see Starr coming to Port Charles without her “bodyguard” or Hope. I will only really watch GH if Cole is there with Starr, especially if it Brandon playing Cole again. Van was great and all but you’re right about the chemistry. The chemistry is much stronger with Kristen & Brandon across the screen. It was weird to watch and not the same with Van as Cole.
I’m very curious to see how this will all play out but I realllllllly hope Brandon comes back as Cole, if the writers have Cole come to PC anyway. Also, I agree with you about Kristen Stroms. Hopefully she’ll come back. Big fan of hers too, GH isn’t the same without her either.
Your right Amber..Bring Back the orginial Cole…And Please GH Bring Back Kristen Storm!!!!
It is not that I am threatening to quit watching if I don’t get my way, I never have watched GH and was thinking of trying it since some of my favorite actors and actresses are heading over there. If they want to save the show incorporating some of OLTL’s popular characters is a good start. I hope more head over to GH!
It did seem like you were , i tried OLTL for a month i couldnt stand it, i have watched GH for 20 years it is by far the better soap , i watch/ watched other soaps, AMC, Y&R DOOL but really couldnt stand OLTL GH beats them all, just ant to clear that up for the 5 people that said they never watched GH, its by far the best out of the to that are gone on ABC it is VERY fast paced – you should like it alot, I am very happy these amazing actors are joining the show, i really liked the what IFs they did, I am worried about my favorite couple Ja son and sam though becau se the one that play JOhn was her love interest on Port Chuck i dont want that pairing on GH
I don’t know what you’ve been smoking, but OLTL is by far a superior soap to the others on ABC. Even AMC (which I loved) had slipped to mediocre in the last five years but I stuck with it out of loyalty. I TRIED to watch GH when Luke and Laura were hot to see what the hoopla was all about. But freezing Port Charles, searching for the Ice Princess…?! Really? Couldn’t get into it. And, now GH has glamorized the mafioso with Sonny and his gang of thieves and murderers. No thanks. People should like what they like, but GH, although it has pulled away from a lot of the silliness of the 80s, it’s veering too much into the darkness. I’d rather watch “The Godfather”.
LOL, michell1660 what are you smoking, first of,all these show have been on for a long time and if you look at their history they’ve all done storylines that have been over the top and silly. and for you to make it sound like oltl has been master piece theater is laughable. OLTL certainly has been by far more campier then GH especially these past few years. And theres nothing wrong w/ being campy. So lets all be real.
I’m VERY disappointed that Kassie is only going to GH for a few shows. I was hoping for a OLTL/GH merge so that our favorite characters could live on. I’ve never watched GH but would have started watching if enough OLTL characters would make the move.
So, I have a question…..Is John McBain just going to leave Natalie and Liam and move to Port Charles right after finding out Liam is his son and confessing his love to Natalie???
Thats why you have to tune in to find out, everyone is trying to figure out whats going to happen before it happens, but obviously it will most likely be that the character will go there on a work related case, and not with the intent to move there. Then if things work out better, i.e, the storyline, then maybe down the line if the character decides to move there then he would be joined by natalie and liam, but if what brings the character to town is work related, so why would the character show up w/ his family? get my point?
Thanks for your response Aria. I thought that Michael Easton (unlike Kassie DePaiva) had signed to “join the cast” of GH—with a permanent possition. Am I wrong on that assumption?
I think it is only because they dont know the future of the how they dont want to be handing out contracts the fans of OLTL seem happy high ratings mean she stays, GH already has a Blair though Carly
Thanks Cindy—-but I’m still wondering—-Did Michael Easton “sign” with GH??? That’s what I read…
Apparently, ABC will do anything to get people to watch GH, even stunt casting with members from OLTL.
Hey Sharon, I’m not sure if any of the contract status of anyone who is returning has been revealed, also other actors are returning for other storyliines, like Holly, Robert and Anna, and some have been describe as open ended, so they could be on for a short appearence or longer. So who knows, I guess it depends on what the Actors are offered and what they agree to, so far only Kassie Depaiva has revealed that she’s been ask for (now) a brief appearence.
Thanks Aria!!
I’m still holding out for the revolution to bomb and they find a way to bring OLTL back to daytime tv or cable or internet.
In the meantime, I have change my dvr to record GH, but I have not watched since Luke & Laura / Robert and Anna stories.
Thanks for keeping us fans in the loop!~
I wont watch it Sorry , Since I’ve boycotted abc totally. as have many others.
THAT WONT HELP GET OLTL BACK
OLTL is not coming back. Wake up.
I’m a long time OLTL fan since the early 80’s and GH is a great show that I’ve also been watching since then it bad enough we lost one show ! We have to come together as fans an watch GH now more than ever!! It can only get better with the addition of the OLTL characters!! So to all u septics just watch !!
I have tried to get into GH for years. I watched AMC and OLTL & watched GH w/my mom when I was little, but no can do… w/the addition of anyone from OLTL, I can watch and maybe even start to love the show, IDK. If it is a short term stint, I will stay while my favs are on.. when some from AW moved to ATWT in 99, I watched for 3 years & I did fall in love w/a lot of the characters. When my favorite AW character was killed off, I stopped watching out of love and respect for the character, actor and history of AW. I will do the same in this case.
Some of use prefer One Life to Live, others prefer of General Hospital. Some of us prefer ABC soaps, other prefer CBS soaps. But in the long run, we are all a big soap opera family. So please, let’s us stop these OLTL vs GH childish fights. One of the reason why the whole genre is dying is because of this division within the soap opera community. So as of today, everybody should respect everybody regardless of tastes and preferences.
IMO ABC is just trying to quiet the fans by bringing us a little bit of OLTL. They want to keep us at bay and then ABC will announce the cancellation of GH. IMO ABC
doesn’t care about rating in Daytime. They just care about the $$$$. ABC doesn’t care what viewers think. CBS and NBC is laughing about this and enjoying the fans coming over. The replacement shows are garbage and after GH goes I will never, never watch ABC again. ABC misleads and lies to fans.
ABC/Disney wants out of the soap business!
Exactly.
Only a couple of shows?! DePaiva is right about the misleading appearance of ABC’s promotions. The people at ABC never tire at teasing and jerking the fans around.
Bring ’em on! GH needs a major overhaul. It’s like on pause right now…
Also, these four had a solid commitment from PP, so who knows what the plans are……
Actually, only two actors had signed with PP: Blair and John.
Todd never gave any answer to PP, and Star openly declined to go to the online version.
I hope it turns out to be a long term gig for all of you!!! ((hugs))
I’ve watched GH a few times but never liked it. Hearing that Kassie would be on the show as Blair, I was so excited! But only for a few shows? Bummer. I would keep on watching if Kassie was full time. Once she goes, I do too.
I’m glad to see 4 actors from OLTL coming to GH, because as many have said, the mob-based storylines are dominating the show, much to many peoples’ disappointment. I am disappointed that Kassie DePaiva’s role is being described as short term, because she’s a multi talented actress that I feel would be a huge asset to the show. I’m hoping that Mr. Valentini and Mr. Carlivati will change their minds, and make Kassie’s role long term.
The mob-based storyline is the reason I am not watching GH regularly. However, that will change as long as Kassie DePaiva is part of the GH cast, I will watch GH.
God bless, Kassie! It’s not enough that they cancelled THE BEST SOAP on air , it’s not enough they played us with the prospect park deal, now they want to mislead us by promoting Kassie and Roger as permanent players on GH (the soap that SHOULD have been cancelled in the first place)? Well , two days or one week of T&B on GH won’t help them if they want to raise the ratings and bring OLTL viewers over that depressing, gloomy, really bad show… Most of us will be watching as long as Kassie is on GH…We’d have enough of the ABC stunts and lies…
I’ll watch as long as she’s there! I’m definitely hoping it turns out to be more long term, but I’ll tune into GH for as long as Blair is on screen.
Bless You, Kassie. We Love You! 😀
Can’t wait to see Cassie on GH. I feel no connection to the show at this time and need my peeps from OLTL to keep me watching.
Personally, I would love to see Victor Lord, Jr. escape and show up at General Hospital delirious and asking for Blair. Not remembering anything after they were married. I’d like to see John show up in Port Charles chasing Allison and the secret that Steven Webber and his ex-girlfriend from the previous hospital had something to do with a collaboration with Dr. David Hayward from AMC.
I say call it All My Life to Live in Port Charles!
I have loved watching One Life To Live for many years since I was a boy.I really miss it.Shame on ABC and Disney.I hope One Life To Live will return on another network.
I am upset, I thought Blair was going to GH permantly!!! This was very misleading, to now hear she isn’t. I feel I should give up on the soaps. OLTl was my favorite and it’s gone. I had some hope when I heard the Mannings were going to GH and now I have heard no Blair. Todd and Blair need to reunite, I guess that will never happen. Todd on GH is not the same without Blair. : (
Please get Blair on GH permanently. She is fantastic with todd and starr. WE need her on gh. Your GH ratings will shoot thru the roof with her on with todd.
Thanks
Mike
