Kelly Frye To Debut On General Hospital In Recurring Role!

Courtesy/IMDB
There have been rumors circulating the Internet, plus an item in the December 22nd issue of ABC Soaps in Depth on newsstands now, that actress Kelly Frye is joining the cast of General Hospital in the recurring role of Ivy, and will be on-air by the end of this month on the ABC soap opera.
SID related, ” GH confirms that actress Kelly Frye has been cast in the recurring role of Ivy. Although no other details were available at press time, Frye will make her Port Charles debut on Tuesday December 30.”
Some are speculating that since a casting call went out a few months ago for a new female doctor, that this could be the role.
Frye recently appeared on the CW series, The Flash in the role of “Plastique”. She has also appeared on the CBS drama series, The Mentalist, and FX’s Anger Management.
So who do you think Kelly will play on GH? Comment below!
Would be interested to see Kelly paired with Ryan Paevey.
What did she ever do to you!
ELLIE TROUT, ELLIE TROUT, ELLIE TROUT
I feel REALLY SILLY for not guessing this already-long red hair, same age minus 7 months or so, a doctor or hospital employee. Emily Wilson has been doing an HBO Show called The Newsroom I think. Most importantly Spin will be back in town next week w/Georgie in tow, ALLEGEDLY. She would come to help w/Georgie. ?
But maybe she’s her evil twin Ivy who has come to PC to reek havoc on all those who have ever done her wrong, starting w/her newly found birth mother Nina Clay
I know it’s unclear if it’s supposed to be a recast, but I’m going to say Ellie, final answer Regis!
Ellie Trout is a good call. Another person I thought of is Christina. Wouldnt she want to see her dad since he is in Pentonville?
On second thought, she looks to old to be Ellie. Could be Nina’s daughter?
Dr. Serena Baldwin…
This would be cool – I would love to see Serena Baldwin back on the canvas.
Could be Kailey Cassadine, Brook Lynn Ashton, or Nina’s long lost not miscarried after all daughter, as the actress does have red hair. The actress is 29. Unless she’s playing younger that would be too old for Nina’s daughter.
Could be Serena. I see a lot of actress suggestions for Serena Baldwin but why wouldn’t they just bring back the original Serena Baldwin, Carly Schroeder, though? The actress is 24 and pretty.
This actress is 29 & though she doesn’t look it, she seems too old for a Morgan or Michael love interest. They clearly both like older women, though-lol.
Sarah Webber is older than Liz so she seems too young to be her, but that would be fine w/me.
A Robin recast would be great, but seems too young.
Even though I’ve listed 20 possibilities, I’m never right when it comes to this regime. They fool me every time. More than likely she’ll be Nathan’s ex who shows up to make trouble for Nathan and Maxie now that the obstacle of the crooked judge is about to be gone when Maxie gets her daughter back next week. Can’t go a week w/o an obstacle, right?
I don’t mind new characters, but I don’t like that current great ones like Maxie have been pushed aside for months at a time.
Hey Jim,
I think it’s may be Ellie Trout.
Maybe Ellie is Agent Sloane’s long lost daughter that he didn’t know existed, since she was conceived when he was a young, 18 yr old, punk, who her mother never told after he cheated on her w/an older Anna Devane..RME!! I gotta stop!!
All I know is that “Red” & “Agent Sexy Pants Sloane” may be arriving in PC on the same day, no idea if they are in the same sl. Could mean nothing. Could mean everything.
BRIT
Not Britt…maybe a recast Robin???????????????
But you could be right
Wow, she is beautiful! She could be a doctor, decorator, or connected to Nina? Anyway, possibly a new love interest for Prince Nicholas. A nanny for Spencer? With everyone getting arrested maybe an attorney. Could be Serena. Like I’ve said, Scott is not in the forefront right now and he needs to be a father Franco never had. Would there be room for a daughter? Maybe Ethan can come back and wink in her direction. The next generation of the Baldwins and the Spencers!
Dear Lord, in the name of everything that is good and holy, please NO more love interests for Nik!! His bed’s still warm from Britt & his 8 year old son is skipping school, declaring his hate for him and yesterday was hanging at pier 4 w/2 murderers-Liesl & “snakes in her hair” grams! Dad, none the wiser, was too busy beelining it to Liz’s & scolding her about who does or doesn’t warm her couch! The absolute LAST thing he needs is a woman! He has plenty enough $ to pay for hookers if necessary while Spence is at school instead of dragging yet another woman into his young son’s life right now. I almost melted down when Brit told Spencer what a good dad he was yesterday. Okay, I’m done!
Timmm, you gotta stop picking on my Nathan-tee hee! He’s not that bad! I’d rather have a stiff Nathan than..(okay, Mr. Fairman’s going to snip that!)
Okay Laurie, perhaps I’m a little jealous of “Magic Nathan!” I’ll leave him alone. [Today]
Ivy my foot I bet she’s the new Sarah Webber.
Could be – Sarah has been mentioned a few times and Lizzie could use family.
(Sarcastically) Yay, another new face in another new role. I might could get excited if this was a long lost Q– like Jimmy Lee Holt’s daughter, but doubtful. I will do my best to give her a shot as I know it has to be hard for new actors with brand new, unconnected roles. Just wish the powers at be would listen to our request to bring back missing characters than create new ones.
Maybe, a possible love interest for Morgan. Morgan & Ivy? Though, I’m hoping Morgan and Ava will find their way back to each other once the baby is returned and revealed as Morgan’s.
I’d like to see Ivy as a long-long daughter of Laura (Genie Francis), and maybe Helena has been hiding her all these years. GH, bring back Genie!
*long-lost daughter
I don’t know how Morgan and Ava are going to have anything other than conjugal visits…I don’t see how they’ll get her out of going to jail for Connie’s murder…though I’ve heard she’s not leaving the show. Should be interesting to see how they handle it.
Either a Brit recast or we are finally Lucy’s daughter Christina
Nina and Silas’ daughter
Having given up on Kiki, that is the best guess yet, Ms Quartermaine…
I do not think Kelly is a recast..
Being she will be with the hospital, I think she is long lost offspring of …??
It could be just me but-
I see RC and FV trying to revive the Q’s..
Ned is being seen and Michael has now become a Q and I think Jake/Jason this time around, eventually, will return to his Q roots, also..
Perhaps Kelly will be of Q blood..
I wouldn’t be surprised if she were in fact a Brit recast, rumor had it the actress playing her now will be the new Stephie Forrester on B&B!
JMW is headed back to B&B for February sweeps, so that’s false!!
Doubt it she wants to try out for movies and prime time work not work on another soap.
She isnt headed to B and B. Not enough talent there.
See, and I think B&B has the LEAST talented cast on daytime, except Hrather Tom and Rena Sofer who are amazing! The ex-Brit would be a huge improvement of talent.
I believe u misunderstood my comment. When I said not enough talent,,I was referring to Kelly T. BRITT as not having the talent to play a role like Hope. B and B has a lot more talent than Heather and Rena. Jacob, Don, Thorsten, KKL, John, Windsor, Jennifer
I hope Ivy is a new doctor . If the writers are not going to put Patrick back with Sabrina where her belongs than maybe Ivy can be a new love interest for him.
where he belongs not her belongs
maybe Sean Donnely’s daughter !!
Never heard of the actress before, and quite honestly, I don’t think we need another new character on GH right now. Hopefully she turns out to be Sarah Webber, but if not, maybe she’s Sean Donnely’s daughter.
I doubt she’s a Britt recast, though, because Britt just exited the canvas and she has no story at this point. Britt, (like Sabrina, Carlos, Brad, Felix) is an expendable character that serves no real purpose so I wasn’t sad to see her go and I don’t wish for her to return.
Characters don’t always need a “purpose.” They’re people we fall in love with and immerse ourselves in…just as many of us have with Britt, Brad, Dr. O, Nathan, etc. And, Britt did have a story. She was a doctor, she was a mom figure to Spencer, she was Brad’s best friend, Nina’s cousin, Dr. O’s daughter…and a complex, sympathetic character. Just being on the canvas, mingling in the town, interacting, being a part of this make-believe world, is sometimes satisfying in and of itself til the next adventure comes along into which tapestry they are woven.
Britt was a dropped stitch and hopefully will remain one!
Lol, Eileen.. I think Britt will be back in the tight KNIT community at some point… Hopefully sooner rather than later. To each his own…
This is SO Sarah Webber, Liz’s sister….i hope she comes on and catches Nikolas’ eye!!!!
Sarah is older then liz this actress is younger the Rebecca.
Change my mind she could be sarah the actress is 30 not 20s like I assume so sarah charater is possible
i’m thinking she’s Annie Donnely, Anna’s goddaughter. She is a red head like the previous actress who played her briefly.
#gingerpower! I doubt that she’s a legacy character as the actress is on recurring. The story has a void with Britt leaving so they need another female doctor for some scenes. I imagine she’ll move around the cast a bit until they lock in the chemistry with a male co-star.
I had seen a rumor that a female doctor last seen in 2002 was returning soon. The only character that fits that description is Sarah Webber who was last seen in 2002 played by Sarah Laine. Hope there’s a bigger plan in place now for the character. Liz could use the family, and Sarah’s oldest history is with Nikolas, so what better obstacle than Sarah now that Britt is off canvas and Jason is a lingering mystery. But what about Ric? Can’t he also come out of witness protection now?
Hes out of witness protection.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Announces Upcoming Release of His First Single, ‘If You Need Me’

In a surprise move, Daytime Emmy winner, Chad Duell (ex-Michael Corinthos, GH) is getting ready to unveil a new chapter of his career in music.
The former GH star, where he played the son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) for 15 years, has announced his new single, “If You Need Me” will drop on Friday, June 26. The single is now available for pre-order on Spotify and major music streaming platforms and is distributed by DistroKid.
Taking to his Instagram story over the weekend, to announce the pre-save of his new single, Chad expressed, “I’ll make a full post about what I’ve been up to and my music once it goes live next week, but you can pre-save my first single so it goes straight to your Spotify once it drops next week.”

SINCE LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL
Previously, since his departure from the ABC soap opera. Chad starred alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play written by Bruce Reisman. Duell last appeared on General Hospital on the January 21, 2025 episode.
The part was recast with Rory Gibson who debuted as the new Michael in May of 2025 during the Nurses’ Ball episodes and who has remained in the role since that time.
In an interview earlier this year on The Able Show, Duell said on his decision to exit the soap opera, “I was blessed to be part of that (show) for as long as I have, but what happens sometimes is if you’re doing the same thing, especially in a creative field for such a long time, you can get a little burnt out in a way. It can make you a little depressed, so that’s kind of what happened. On top of that, I had other things going on in my life at the time. My father passed away recently and I just needed a reset. So, I stepped away. A lot of times you have to go through some stuff to really step into that next level. I needed to kind of feel uncomfortable.”
So, what type of musical genre will Chad’s new song be? Country? Pop? Rock? Dance/Club? Something else? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below, and if you are eager to hear the new single next week via the comment section below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Reflects on Dante’s Guilt for the ‘Atrocity’ That Happened to Michael Which Kept Everyone From Telling Him the Truth About Rocco (Exclusive)

On recent episodes of General Hospital, acting PCPD commissioner, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was the last to know when his ex-wife Lulu (Alexa Havins), his cop/friend “Nathan,” (Ryan Paevey) and his son, Rocco (Finn Carr) kept him in the dark from learning that Rocco actually shot WSB director, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). That, set off a chain of events leading to Rocco joining Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and going on the run from Port Charles.
However, what led to everyone being so secretive and keeping the truth from Dante stems, in part, to what happened back in 2010. In story, Michael Corinthos (then played by Chad Duell) was brutally assaulted and rape by his prison inmate, Carter (Josh Wingate). Michael went to prison when his brother, Dante, then a PCPD detective, forced Michael to testify in court about killing his stepmother, Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Brown). That testimony resulted in Michael being sentenced to prison for manslaughter.
In early 2011, Michael admitted out loud to Jason (Steve Burton) for the first time that he was raped. The guilt of that situation has plagued Dante for years, and fast-forward 16 years later, it’s still very much alive in Dante’s character life as explained by Dominic Zamprogna in his recent interview on the Michael Fairman Channel.

RORY GIBSON RECAST WAS PERFECT TIME TO BRING BACK THE STORY POINT
Zamprogna spoke of Dante’s son current plight, and how it dovetails into the past for the acting police commissioner. “The situation with Rocco is just this awful scenario that this kid is in and wanting to try and do the best for him. The other thing I liked too was from the other people’s perspectives of Dante in the past, he kind of did right by the law, not by the people, or put too much faith in the law, and expected it to work out for the people he loved, and it didn’t. So, it gave them a reason for keeping things from him as well.”
The five-time Daytime Emmy nominee shared it’s important to remember things in the history of the character you play. When GH decided to recast the role of Michael Corinthos with Rory Gibson on-screen in May of 2025, it was the perfect time to remind viewers of what happened all those years ago.
“The idea that when you’re on a show this long, I do think about those elements because there’s so much story. The scenes that I think of immediately with the Michael situation was with Chad gone, and then Rory came in. They (the writers) chose that moment to kind of literally say in the dialogue when we were at the Quartermaines, ‘You’ve changed since you came back from Europe, and you’re a different guy and you’re darker.’ I think I said all these things. Frank Valentini (executive producer, GH) calls (Rory’s version) ‘Dark Michael.’ It’s true.”

DANTE’S GUILT OVER MICHAEL’S BRUTAL PRISON ASSAULT LINGERS
“That was the first time my character brought that up in what had happened to Michael so long ago. I’d love to play those beats more often. You can’t beat that to death, because it was 16 years ago, but you also can’t act like it never happened. Sometimes in the world that we live in, the soap world, you do act like things don’t happen because how could people carry on with that kind of guilt, you know? Every time I looked at Michael, Dante would feel responsible for the atrocity that happened to him. So, there’s a balance. You can’t think about it every time, but you definitely have to acknowledge it. This was the perfect time to acknowledge it with the character of Michael because of the recast.”
Now over the last several months, Dante was kept from the truth all stemming back to that moment. Zamprogna recalled, “It was the first kind of domino that fell in bringing back that history. Then, you had Britt coming back and that brought back that history of the embryo with Dante and Lulu. It was fun to be able to play pissed-off with these people who I love. So, you got to play the love underneath and the anger on top, and it was all because of his past. So, it all kind of brought things back and it completed something.”
CAN LULU AND DANTE FIND ROCCO AND BRITT IN TIME?
At the end of Friday’s June 19 cliffhanger, Dante and Lulu learned from “Nathan” where Rocco and Britt are hiding out and take off to find their son. How will that go? Can the execs get along for the sake of their son? Stay tuned.
In case you missed our conversation with Dominic Zamprogna you can check it out in full below.
Do you believe, given what happened with Michael Corinthos in the past, everyone had the right to hide what happened to Rocco from Dante? What do you remember from the harrowing story of Michael’s rape in prison by Carter? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Finola Hughes First Airdate Back to ‘General Hospital’ Revealed: But What Will Be the State of Anna Devane’s Mental Health?

The highly-anticipated return of Daytime Emmy winner, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) to General Hospital is just around the corner. It’s next week! Anna’s back starting with the Wednesday June 24 episode of the ABC daytime drama series.
Hughes has been off the soap opera on-screen since February. Now, the question becomes, when viewers see Anna, will she be in the same condition she was when we last saw her? Believing Cesar Faison is alive, and traumatized from the hallucinogenic drugs she was served up from Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and company while held captive at Wyndemere?
Anna was last seen in a mental clinic in France, but also left word of her captivity on the wall inside the secret room at Wyndemere where Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) are now being held against their will, too!

ANNA ON HER WAY BACK TO PORT CHARLES?
Even though Finola Hughes has not been on the canvas for months, Anna has certainly been talked about. In fact, super spy Anna, nearly escaped and made it as far as Switzerland before being recaptured. Since that time she is said to be housed at a high-security institution. We were then told that Congresswoman Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) went to bat for Anna with the authorities overseas, and had her transferred to a more comfortable facility.
How will Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) play into saving Anna? We know he flipped out after learning what was happening and tried to phone the facility as Dr. Kevin Collins, but that backfired making him public enemy number one with the WSB.
Here’s what to look for on episodes featuring Finola Hughes on her first week back below:
On Wednesday, June 24 official General Hospital spoilers share: Anna meets with her doctor. Carly makes a stunning confession. Britt extracts a promise. Cullum pulls a fast one. Gio and Emma hit the pool.
Then, when we next see Anna on the Friday, June 26 episode, official GH spoilers add: Anna takes a huge risk. Britt is in grave danger. Willow is in disbelief. Danny must act fast. Curtis jumps to the wrong conclusion.
ANNA/VALENTIN/CARLY
In addition, General Hospital co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten teased summer story to Soap Opera Digest, including some intel on Anna’s return to Port Charles. The scribes shared that Anna’s presence doesn’t mean that Rocco (Finn Carr) is out of the woods for shooting Cullum, and that Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) would face some hard questions from the super spy as well, plus a major decision made by Jason (Steve Burton) is said to have big implications for Anna.
There is also the fact that while Anna was in a mental facility in France, Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin have become lovers and developed feelings for one another while in Port Charles. Will a triangle ensue? Stay tuned.
So, what do you think will be Anna’s mental state when viewers see her next week on GH? Will she be OK? Suffer from PTSD? Be faking it at this point, or be a changed woman? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
