Kelly Frye To Debut On General Hospital In Recurring Role!

There have been rumors circulating the Internet, plus an item in the December 22nd issue of ABC Soaps in Depth on newsstands now, that actress Kelly Frye is joining the cast of General Hospital in the recurring role of Ivy, and will be on-air by the end of this month on the ABC soap opera.
SID related, ” GH confirms that actress Kelly Frye has been cast in the recurring role of Ivy. Although no other details were available at press time, Frye will make her Port Charles debut on Tuesday December 30.”
Some are speculating that since a casting call went out a few months ago for a new female doctor, that this could be the role.
Frye recently appeared on the CW series, The Flash in the role of “Plastique”. She has also appeared on the CBS drama series, The Mentalist, and FX’s Anger Management.

I feel REALLY SILLY for not guessing this already-long red hair, same age minus 7 months or so, a doctor or hospital employee. Emily Wilson has been doing an HBO Show called The Newsroom I think. Most importantly Spin will be back in town next week w/Georgie in tow, ALLEGEDLY. She would come to help w/Georgie. ?
But maybe she’s her evil twin Ivy who has come to PC to reek havoc on all those who have ever done her wrong, starting w/her newly found birth mother Nina Clay

Ellie Trout is a good call. Another person I thought of is Christina. Wouldnt she want to see her dad since he is in Pentonville?

Dr. Serena Baldwin…
This would be cool – I would love to see Serena Baldwin back on the canvas.
Could be Kailey Cassadine, Brook Lynn Ashton, or Nina’s long lost not miscarried after all daughter, as the actress does have red hair. The actress is 29. Unless she’s playing younger that would be too old for Nina’s daughter.
Could be Serena. I see a lot of actress suggestions for Serena Baldwin but why wouldn’t they just bring back the original Serena Baldwin, Carly Schroeder, though? The actress is 24 and pretty.
This actress is 29 & though she doesn’t look it, she seems too old for a Morgan or Michael love interest. They clearly both like older women, though-lol.
Sarah Webber is older than Liz so she seems too young to be her, but that would be fine w/me.
A Robin recast would be great, but seems too young.
Even though I’ve listed 20 possibilities, I’m never right when it comes to this regime. They fool me every time. More than likely she’ll be Nathan’s ex who shows up to make trouble for Nathan and Maxie now that the obstacle of the crooked judge is about to be gone when Maxie gets her daughter back next week. Can’t go a week w/o an obstacle, right?
I don’t mind new characters, but I don’t like that current great ones like Maxie have been pushed aside for months at a time.

Maybe Ellie is Agent Sloane’s long lost daughter that he didn’t know existed, since she was conceived when he was a young, 18 yr old, punk, who her mother never told after he cheated on her w/an older Anna Devane..RME!! I gotta stop!!
All I know is that “Red” & “Agent Sexy Pants Sloane” may be arriving in PC on the same day, no idea if they are in the same sl. Could mean nothing. Could mean everything.

Would there be room for a daughter? Maybe Ethan can come back and wink in her direction. The next generation of the Baldwins and the Spencers!

His bed’s still warm from Britt & his 8 year old son is skipping school, declaring his hate for him and yesterday was hanging at pier 4 w/2 murderers-Liesl & “snakes in her hair” grams! Dad, none the wiser, was too busy beelining it to Liz’s & scolding her about who does or doesn’t warm her couch! The absolute LAST thing he needs is a woman! He has plenty enough $ to pay for hookers if necessary while Spence is at school instead of dragging yet another woman into his young son’s life right now. I will do my best to give her a shot as I know it has to be hard for new actors with brand new, unconnected roles. Just wish the powers at be would listen to our request to bring back missing characters than create new ones.
Maybe, a possible love interest for Morgan. Morgan & Ivy? Though, I’m hoping Morgan and Ava will find their way back to each other once the baby is returned and revealed as Morgan’s.
I’d like to see Ivy as a long-long daughter of Laura (Genie Francis), and maybe Helena has been hiding her all these years. GH, bring back Genie!

I don’t know how Morgan and Ava are going to have anything other than conjugal visits…I don’t see how they’ll get her out of going to jail for Connie’s murder…though I’ve heard she’s not leaving the show. Should be interesting to see how they handle it.

Never heard of the actress before, and quite honestly, I don’t think we need another new character on GH right now. Hopefully she turns out to be Sarah Webber, but if not, maybe she’s Sean Donnely’s daughter.
I doubt she’s a Britt recast, though, because Britt just exited the canvas and she has no story at this point. Britt, (like Sabrina, Carlos, Brad, Felix) is an expendable character that serves no real purpose so I wasn’t sad to see her go and I don’t wish for her to return.
Characters don’t always need a “purpose.” They’re people we fall in love with and immerse ourselves in…just as many of us have with Britt, Brad, Dr. O, Nathan, etc. And, Britt did have a story. She was a doctor, she was a mom figure to Spencer, she was Brad’s best friend, Nina’s cousin, Dr. O’s daughter…and a complex, sympathetic character. Just being on the canvas, mingling in the town, interacting, being a part of this make-believe world, is sometimes satisfying in and of itself til the next adventure comes along into which tapestry they are woven.
Britt was a dropped stitch and hopefully will remain one!

#gingerpower! I doubt that she’s a legacy character as the actress is on recurring. The story has a void with Britt leaving so they need another female doctor for some scenes. I imagine she’ll move around the cast a bit until they lock in the chemistry with a male co-star.
I had seen a rumor that a female doctor last seen in 2002 was returning soon. The only character that fits that description is Sarah Webber who was last seen in 2002 played by Sarah Laine. Hope there’s a bigger plan in place now for the character. Liz could use the family, and Sarah’s oldest history is with Nikolas, so what better obstacle than Sarah now that Britt is off canvas and Jason is a lingering mystery. But what about Ric? Can’t he also come out of witness protection now?

The ceremony which celebrates nominated lifestyle programs and dramas will also include presenters: Eva zu Beck (Superskilled with Eva zu Beck), Danielle Chang (Lucky Chow), Sunny Hostin (The View), Derek Hough (Extra), Pati Jinich (Pati’s Mexican Table), Star Jones (Divorce Court), Michael Jr. (Stand Up and Do Something), Judge Greg Mathis (Mathis Court with Judge Mathis), Keke Palmer (Glam Through the Ages), Nischelle Turner (Entertainment Tonight), and Andrew Zimmern (Andrew Zimmern’s Wild Game Kitchen).

Matthew Hoffman (Love Island USA, Cheap A$$ Beach Houses) will serve as the ceremony’s Voice of God, bringing his signature comedic narration to the evening’s celebrations. As previously announced, Lifetime Achievement honoree Genie Francis (Laura, General Hospital) will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by her husband, Jonathan Frakes.

General Hospital fans took to social media following the airing of the Wednesday, October 21 episode of the ABC daytime drama series. In story, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) reveals to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that she has received an offer to join the top law firm in Chicago that practices civil law. She says it’s her dream job.
The problem Molly says is relocating from Port Charles and uprooting her life and being away from her mother, Scout and boyfriend Cody Bell (Josh Kelly). Wistful that she may lose another daughter to a long-distance situation (Kristina left a few months back to go to medical school in California), Alexis urged Molly to get Cody to go with her.
Molly still seemed concerned and has trouble committing to the idea. Alexis tells her to talk it over with Cody. Meanwhile, Cody asked Tracy (Jane Elliot) is he can have Thanksgiving off because he and Molly planned to spend Thanksgiving together with their families. After initially balking, Tracy agrees.

Later, Cody shows up at Miller & Davis and the conversation turned to Thanksgiving dinner that Alexis is hosting. Molly and Cody asked her not to cook anything. Cody hugged Molly reassuring Alexis that he and Molly would take care of whatever was needed on Turkey Day.
So, this raises the question, why out of nowhere are we learning that Molly received an amazing law offer in Chicago, if the character was not being written out? If Molly leaves the canvas, would the character of Cody make his exit too?
Kristen Vaganos joined GH as a recast Molly Lansing-Davis back in September of 2023 and went on contract in August of 2024. Josh Kelly began playing Cody Bell back in June of 2022. Initial reports were that Kelly joined the show on contract and then as of June 2025 went on recurring status with the show per his choice.

It’s been over two-years since his last appearance on General Hospital, now fan favorite Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) has taken to social media to share his thoughts on the casting of his grown-up TV daughter, Serena Baldwin now played by Kelly Kruger.
Kelly took over the role of Serena on-screen starting with the July 30, 2026 episode and has been ensconced in the storyline with her mother, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), in trying to win back full creative control of Deception for her.
In fact on the Monday, October 19 episode of the ABC soap opera, Serena tried to dupe Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) into signing over Michael’s (Rory Gibson) shares of the company. Jason caught on and wondered why she was doing this. She claimed she just wanted to help her mom gain creative control from Tracy (Jane Elliot) rather than full ownership, and begged Jason to keep quiet about it, which he agreed to for now.

WHERE IS SCOTT?
On Monday, Shriner also took to X and said, “I think Kelly Kruger is doing a great job on General Hospital, and she and Lynn Herring work well together.” That was followed by comments in his thread about the show needing to bring back Scott too.
In fact, back on August 25, Shriner also took to X with a reminder that Scott is still around and ready to come back to Port Charles, sharing, “Scotty Baldwin always fits in he just needs the right sport coat !!!!”
The last time Serena mentioned her father Scott was when Kruger made her debut and informed Lucy that her father was, “living his best life in Key West.” Meanwhile, Shriner posts on his X account continually and shared back on August 2, that it has been 49 years since he made his on-screen debut as then teenaged, Scotty Baldwin and thanked the fans for al the love and support.
