Kim Matula's Final Airdate Revealed As December 12th On The Bold and The Beautiful!

So many of you have posted comments upon learning the news that Kim Matula has wrapped at The Bold and the Beautiful after four years as the central young heroine of the series, Hope Logan. Matula, who finished taping last month, decided to depart the series to pursue other opportunities within her acting career.
Now comes word via this week’s Soap Opera Digest (on newsstands now) that Kim’s final airdate will be next Friday on the December 12th episode of B&B. Next week, be on the lookout for emotional and heartbreaking scenes in story for long suffering star-crossed lovers, Liam (Scott Clifton) and Hope.
As to the big question of whether Hope will be recast, the series EP and head writer Brad Bell had this to share with SOD on Matula’s exit: “Hope Logan is a critical and central character to the show. Hope will continue to be on the show. We’re losing Kim Matula, who is a brilliant actress, and I am hoping, at some point, she will return to the role – but the role will continue.”
So how do you think Hope will exit the canvas? Are you looking forward to Matula’s final scenes? Are you glad there may be a recast coming as teased by Bell? Comment below!
I have a feeling Quinn is going to cause her to miscarry.
Sad to see Kim go, especially since I felt like she’d be a long-time permanent fixture in the series. I do wish her the best, and hope Hope returns in 2015.
I’m sad to see her go to. I sure hope she will return, I just love her she’s awesome.
I Love Kim As Hope it will be hard to fill her role as she owns it . I wish her well in her adventure. But truly wish that she returns soon. Her and Liam deserve their fairy tail wedding its the way it was ment to be.Will not watch as I once did.
I will miss Kim Matula, as Hope Logan, I wish her luck in the future. She is a very pretty young lady and a wonderful actress.
Best case scenario: Kim misses the show and returns! Nobody will be the same in this role, and her chemistry with Scott Clifton and the beautiful work they did together can’t be replaced. But, if she decides to leave The Bold and The Beautiful behind for good, I am happy that Hope will be recast. It needs to be an outstanding bit of casting…get it right Mr. Bell!
Wow… that is certainly different from what he originally said a few weeks ago when he said the role will not be recast… I am glad though… hoping the nuHope is more likeable…but that’s up to the writers of course….
Lots of great talent out there to choose from.
She’s ok, has gotten a lot better, but there are lots of talented actresses who will make that part sizzle. If that was me though I would never leave a gig like that.
Very sad that Kim is leaving the show. I don’t watch The Bold and The Beautiful that much anymore. Maybe twice a week. The show has the same repeated storylines. I miss Stefanie so much. Susan Flannery is very much missed. I love watching Days, Gh and Y&R. Very happy that Melanie is back at Days.
Another miscarriage would be sad. So would a mysterious disappearance. I pray there is a close to logical turn of events. She goes to be with Brooke? Heck, I were Hope I’d run from LA and her near incestuous family and relationships and never look back.
Well after watching today’s episode it’s apparent that Hope will lose her spawn. She will go away to regroup and come back as anther actress. Hope to god it is someone pretty and talented and has fab chemistry with Scitt. Heard a rumor that it’s Julie. Hope not as I am not a fan. Oh well, that’s soap land for you!
Julie who?
Julie Berman, she played LuLu Spenser on GH,, Another soap star who went in search of greener pastures. Not too many of them actually make it in the movie world. They usually go back to the soaps.
Kim is a good actress, not one of the best, but she is talented. She and KKL look like they could really be mother and daughter, and her chemistry with Liam is great. Too bad their story was milked to death by Brad Bell over the last 4 years, to the point where entire weeks were devoted to this mess. Seriously, the story ran its course years ago, and I know there isn’t a single person that still cares who Hope winds up with, except of course for every other character on the show, since everyone talks about her love life as if its the weather.
Moreover, character of Hope has become everything she once stood against, playing brothers against each other, flip-flopping back and forth for months, and loving all the attention. This is NOT the Hope from 2010 when she was with Oliver and at the very beginning with Liam. She has changed so wholly into the opposite of her original moral code, and has become this nearly unbearable puddle of mush, who is either constantly longing for a man she isn’t with, or crying because of the man she IS with. I cannot stand her anymore, so I bid good riddance! I “hope” whenever they bring Hope back, she’s a much stronger, smarter and committed character that she is now.
I completely agree!!!! You said it!
Just wished they would say the baby was liams before she left they went bk and forth he deserves that atleast
They can have the new actress who plays lulu on general hospital
Will the recast be required to constantly look into the camera too?
Shut it Jb! Just kidding we are all entitled to our own opinion, but I love Emme Ryan as Lulu!
will julie berman take her place
Yes thats the big rumor right now natalie, Julie Marie Berman might be the new Hope Logan. I hope that happens, Julie is a wonderful actress. Another suggestion I have is Martha Madison ex Bell Black on Days Of Our Lives. She is a terrific actress too.
I really hope not but I heard that rumor. Can’t stand her and even though she worked with Scott Clifton on GH, I didn’t care for their chemistry.
I’m hearing that Julie may be cast, but nothing is in stone. I don’t think I’d enjoy her as Hope, especially since I hated her Lulu.
I think Qinn is going to do something to her because she always over the deep end
I really want Quinn to pay, and H n L get back together W is scared of his mother.
I watched Fridays episode Quinn will nit leave Hope alone at all, but I do agree with you Quinn will cause her to miscary because Hope fell down the steps. It wouldn’t of happen if Quinn didn’t show up at Brooks house .
I will miss Kim Matula as Hope…she grew as an actress despite having terrible material to work with. This storyline with Liam was contrived and had every OLD plot cliché that has been used before on this show and others. I also feel that by February the latest BBell will have the part of Hope recast to continue to drag out this mess with Liam/Ivy/Wyatt for a few more years. Best Wishes to Kim Matula she gave it a good shot!
As far as a recast is concerned I think BBell will go with an unknown. That is usually his casting strategy.
Hopefully the show will go in a new direction with a re-cast. I’m so sick of Hope’s nauseating relationship with Liam and her equally nauseating relationship with Wyatt. Kim is a pretty girl, and I’m sure she’s very nice, but not terribly talented. I doubt she’ll go too far in primetime if that’s what she’s aiming for.
I’m thinking that the Fuller Family just may be written off in the near future. They’ve pretty much been written into a corner. Too bad because I love Quinn and Deacon and Quinn is the most interesting character on B&B right now.
Sorry to see Kim go, but think a great replacement would be Alex’s Havins who played Babe Chandler on All My Children–she could really rock the part!
That’s Alexa Havens.
I so agree that Alexa Havins would be the best actress to play Hope!
Personally I thought Hope had more chemistry with Wyatt. I love the fact Wyatt got a restraining order for Hope. Liam just needs to move on. Liam and Hope just don’t mesh. Liam seems too old for her. They way he is fawning all over Hope is so disrespectful to ivy. Hope does have a husband.
I agree. Liam & Ivy just have better chemistry. He ruined his relationship with Hope too many times in the past by choosing Steffy over her.
I used to love “Hott” together, but now she comes across as a fickle tramp. I hope Wyatt divorces her and can get together with Steffy when she comes back.
I wish that hopes baby is Liam’s not Wyatt’s. Hope and liam sshould get back together and get married finally.
Hopes baby should b Liam’s and they should be married finally.
It fine that she leaving I really got burn out on the Liam and hope last year and it still going on I do not care to see hope and Liam together again look like that a be what they are fix to do at least it will be a new face I do wish they let Liam man up and get off the hope roll coaster it continues every year I like ivy but really would enjoy seeing Steffi and Liam back together anything but the same old Liam hope and Wyatt another year I hope not but that just my opinion and I sure others may view different but it been dragged out long enough
You know Hope will lose her baby after Liem touched her belly. I wish the actress good luck. I read Steffy was coming back and I was sick of her chasing after Hope’s men. So I hope she doesn’t come back doing the same Boring part! And I hope Ivy and Liem make it together because Hope turned out to be just like her mother sexing through two brothers going again ALL her correct beliefs. If they continue with these terrible scripts, I won’t be watching any more.
I agree
I’m sick of the same storyline, and if Hope and Wyatt’s baby dies, I won’ t continue to watch, same old story for years and years!
I think Kim Matula is a good actress, and I wish her the best. That said, I’m not sad to see her go. The character of Hope has been completely trashed these past few months. She married Wyatt out of love, yet is acting like she still wants Liam, and vice versa, even though Liam is now with Ivy. It’s weird, because the majority of fans do NOT want “Lope” together anymore–it got old, played out, and boring.
I know Steffy is coming back, and I’m really hoping that she can get together with Wyatt. I like Liam with Ivy; Steffy was too conniving for him. But Steffy & Wyatt would be a fun couple, just like Quinn & Deacon are.
I too have had enough of the Hope,Liam, Wyatt Show. Sick and tired of the the same storyline over and over again. Get some new material. Don’t even bother to recast the role of Hope for fear of subjecting us to more of the moronic trio.
I think LIndsey Fonseca would be a good choice as the new Hope
I think Lindsey Frost might be a little to old to be believable as Brooke and Deacons daughter She was a Betsy years ago on As The World Turns
I think he is talking about Lyndsey Fonseca who is 27 and played the first teenage Colleen Carlton on Young and The Restless she was absolutely wonderful. Her chemistry with Thad Luckinbill/JT was off the charts they were that good.
I agree with you. Although, the Liam and Hopd story, in my opinion, was hindering the other wonderful talent on the show, I enjoyed Kim in the role and wish her luck in her future endeavers. Maybe now tbey can get back to the Rick and Caroline story. I am dying to see more of Maya and Czroline’s catfights. I am wondering if Maya is going go be the next one to crack. She csn share a psdded cell with Quinn
I am hoping now the show will start to move forward in putting some of the dangling storylines together. I am waiting to see how the situation with Rick and Caroline will turn out, as well as Katie and Ridge I am hoping that with the return of Steffie, however brief, could also mean the return of Taylor. There is plenty of talented actors on this show that I feel are getting pushed aside to be outshadowed by what I jokingly refer to as the Hope and Liam show
So sad to see Kim exit as Hope, its not going to be the same seeing someone else fill her role. Please say she will be turning some time in the future, otherwise I just don’t see the point in watching the show. I only switched the TV on to watch her and Liam………by the way, that baby should be Liam’s and I really hope it turns out to be as there’s still time to spice things up in that way and make a lot of fans happy. They so deserve that break, she doesn’t fit with Wyatt. PLEASE RETURN TO THE SHOW KIM, DONT LET THIS BE THE END!!!!!!
I want kim to come back to the show. It isn’t the same with out her. Her and Liam is what makes the show. I have watched her ever since she started the role of hope logan. I hope she decides to come back. Have in someone else play her role isn’t going to be the same

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast
After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.
The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.
In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.
Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Photo: NBC
Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”
As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”
The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). ‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Courtesy/ABC
Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”
So, who do you think will be the person to blow Cassius’ cover? Will it be Britt herself? Josslyn? Liesl? Brennan? Nina? Lulu? Rocco, Maxie, Cullum or someone else? Let us know your pick in the comment section.
