Kimberly McCullough and Finola Hughes Interview – General Hospital

In a heartfelt, emotional, and nostalgic chat with Michael Fairman, and in her final video interview with On-Air On-Soaps as a cast member of General Hospital, Kimberly McCullough says farewell to decades as Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake alongside her on-screen mom, Finola Hughes, who just returned to the series as Anna Devane.

I’m so glad you had this last interview with Kimberly and Finola, Michael. I also have followed Kimberly since she was a child, and what an amazing career she has had.She will be missed as a kind of pioneer of her own. So much has been with Kimberly being the center piece of many, many stories. I wish her good luck with her new endeavors……

I have loved Kim/Robin since their first day on GH. They grew up onscreen in front of me. I was a young teenager and it was nice to see a child like Robin being written into the show as she was. I understand Kim wanting to leave and wish her the best and will continue to follow her career in whatever path it takes her. However, I will deeply miss Robin she is so much a part of GH. I am sad that we never got to see Robin and Jason reunited. They were so amazing and I always held… Read more »

Thank you Kimberly… and Michael for introducing us to them. Want more! Can’t wait to see one with Finola and Tristan! Wish she could do one with Kirsten Storms! Want one with everyone on GH! Those will be great to watch for years! Thank you!

Since I have watched GH from the beginning, I have watched Kimberly grow up. I will miss her. I wish her well. Hopefully, I will get to see her in Tampa at the end of March. NGFL was accepted in the Gasparilla Film Festival. As a fan, I will show her support any way that I can.

I have been waiting for this interview, Michael and it didn’t disappoint. It was a wonderfully sentimental walk down memory lane. I’m going to miss Robin Scorpio-Drake and more importantly Kimberly McCullough on our GH screen. I look forward to watching her become an even more amazing director. Heck yeah Soap Fans Rock!!

love Kimberly and Finola and my favorite interviews have to be with Jason Thompson because you can see how close he and Kimberly are. For me this is bittersweet that GH resorted to killing Robin a character I grew up with. There was many ways to write Robin out but death isn’t it. I much prefer Robin, Patrick and Emma leave for Robin’s birthday trips. No couple will even compare to Scrubs and you can blame Kimberly M and Jason T for that. Bringing back all the vets (who Kimberly starred with) won’t make it better.GH died today.GH missed opportunities… Read more »

It was actually Kimberly McCullough’s decision that her character should die – and she presented it to the show, not the other way around. She felt that, as a legacy character, it would be best this way and there wouldn’t be a need for a recast.

I am so pissed, sad and confused as well. I just do not understand why, Robin is leaving the soap I wish General Hospital would just let one couple be happy on there for once. Robin will be missed so much by my mother and my myself. I have watched GH sense I was 4 and my mother has watched it sense the beinning.

Michael, as always, when it comes to interviews with our favorite soap stars, you have put together another amazing interview. I love any interview with Kimberly, and with Jason Thompson, but I especially enjoy a Michael Fairman interview! I am sad because I will miss Kimberly working with Jason Thompson on General Hospital, but I know that she will continue to take the movie world by storm, just as she has with Nice Guys, just as he will continue to shine on GH. I wish Kimberly the best of luck in everything the future holds for her! Thank you, thank… Read more »

She truly is. Gosh, will I miss her. She got killed off. Robin was such a stoic character, should she ever decide to come back, it would be so fake if its a twin or lookalike. They would have to go the bad dream direction. *Chow

thats why they cant kill her, shes hiding somewhere afraid to come out because she has no memory of anything ,she gets a hold of a few dollars ,buys a ticket and flies out of port charles,or my original plot ,gets on grey hound bus.I agree with you ,we dont want a twin or a look alike ,a recast maybe, thats hard because she has been our robin since she was 6 .hopefully we get a clue at the end of week cliff hanger, then I spent the weekend figuring out more ways to save robin.star shows up today, next week the mannings ,I… Read more »

I have watched Kim grow up on GH along with my Grandmother…I Can’t imagine GH without Robin!!! I wish you Kim all the luck in the world, and hope that your happy and sucessfull in your new adventures 😉 I just wish and hope that they give you the recognition and respect you deserve, ie..give Robin the funeral she deserves NOT one with over half the show devoted to Sonny, Jason, Sam, Carly, Johnny etc.!!! Like your death show was…I didn’t think that was fair or respectful to the character or to you the actress!! Again, I wish you all… Read more »

The interview was wonderful. I was disappointed in Anna’s reaction to finding out her daughter was killed. I expected , Shock, disbelief and hysteria from Anna. She missed out on her daughter for years being away, haven’t spoken to her in a long time and brushes her tears away as quickly as they appeared. “Ok, Patrick go see your daughter.” Does anyone agree with me.?

Shirley Miller

I agree, Karen. I really thought Anna would show more hysteria, tears upon learning that Robin had died. Maybe when she and Robert were involved in a lot of thrilling escapades, she has learned to control her feelings better. Also, she could be in shock and once Robert arrives and someone is with her to stay with Emma, she may break down. If not, it does seem very strange to me also!!!

It was wonderful to see Anna (Finola Hughes) back on GH but soooo very sad to see the way the writers handled the demise of Robin (Kimberly). I have watched Robin since she was a little girl on the soap – one of her finest performances as a little girl was in the Asian episode. I can’t believe that Robin would have left the lab to see her Mum & daughter when she was in the midst of seeking a life-saving cure for Jason. She was just too dedicated a Dr for that. It seems that the fire in the… Read more »

stay tuned, I dont think she is dead, clue, fire was to hot for anything to survive, like melting a human body,I say the explosion made her loose her mind and forget who she is,robin would never leave her baby or patrick,at least thats what I hope.My version ,she hops on a greyhound bus and leaves town.so the robin character can always come back.it doesnt have to be a greyhound bus.

I too have seen GH on and off since the first few years. I have sen Robin grow up before my eyes. It is interesting to have heard Robin say that they changed how she was exiting four or so times. I get the impression with everyone involved that they all do not like this way and you can tell in the acting and how it is being handled on screen beginning with Robin. When she left the lab she was not playing it well and with Patrick too… it just wasn’t right. And… Anna… agreed she has not handled… Read more »

Agreed… I loveabcsoaps! Thanks! It is such a shame and a missed opportunity. Ron and others had been tweeting and FB’ing that this was supposed o have been such a great week and tune in… very disappointing in terms of Robin’s death. Might be better with the Cassadine storyline moving forward and the car crash with AZ and Starr & Cole. I would hope RC can rectify the Robin storyline next week with Emma and Robert and a funeral. GH’s Avery Pohl on Esme’s Return: “She’s Using Her Time Wisely and Waiting For The Right Moment to Strike”

Next week, Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) is back lurking around Port Charles.  When viewers last saw Esme, she went over the parapet at Wyndemere during a showdown with Ava (Maura West).

For months, GH fans have been eagerly awaiting to see just how and when Esme would return to get revenge, or find out what she is after.  From the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, it looks like the wait is over.

In dishing with SOD on her on-screen return, Pohl shared that Esme is, “essentially on the run.”  However, she adds, “Esme is aware of the circumstances she’s put herself in.  She is aware that people are going to to be after her.  She’s not dumb.”

Just what’s in store for Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), Ava, Trina (Tabyana Ali), Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) now that Esme is back?

As Esme’s plan begins to reveal itself, Pohl shares: “Before she goes right back into the thick of it, she scopes things out.  She’s using her time wisely and waiting for the right moment to strike.”

So, are you glad that finally Avery Pohl is back on GH as Esme? What do you hope happens next? Who do you think is Esme’s biological mother? Do you want her to get her comeuppance from the Cassadine clan and Trina? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn Shares Excerpt From Her Upcoming Memoir

In celebration of beginning her 27th year as Alexis Davis on General Hospital, two-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Nancy Lee Grahn, decided to mark the occasion by revealing to her longtime fans an excerpt from her upcoming memoir due out in 2023.

Taking to her official Facebook page, Nancy shared the excerpt starting with contained some of the back-history of her soap opera alter-ego : “I play the role of Alexis Davis. I am a public defender, prosecutor, personnel injury, civil, malpractice, tax and family attorney. I am the bastard child of Mikos Cassadine who died after being thrown into his own weather machine which he designed to freeze the world. My mother, Kristen Bergman was a famous opera singer whose throat was slit by my father’s wife, Helena. Unhappy with the turn of events, I hurled my frail 75 year old stepmother off a five hundred foot parapet slamming her onto jagged rock only for her to walk away unscathed. Even more determined, I shoved her off a thousand foot cliff into the frigid subzero ocean. Helena not only survived unscathed, she apparently scaled 1000 feet up the cliff and continued to wreak havoc on Port Charles.”

Nancy closed the excerpt with some special acknowledgements: “Always so grateful to have an ongoing contract, my own parking space and people I’ve never met who come up to me regularly and tell me how much younger I look in person. It’s a gift that I have been able to and still get to do what I love to do for such a gloriously long time. I love my job the most because it is the job that gave me the security I needed to greenlight Kate as a single mother, raise her while being able to give her the things I dreamed of giving her, put her through school all the way through college, and will hopefully allow me to spoil my grandchildren. The enormous love & gratitude I have for ABC and Disney for allowing me the privilege of working for them is immeasurable. But the real truth is without the support from all of you, this day would not be what it is. As always, I see you and thank you.”

Make sure to read the entire excerpt.  Now let us know, are you looking forward to what Nancy will share in her upcoming memoir? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Diane Poised to Be Attacked by the ‘Hook’; Elizabeth Knew Finn’s Late Wife, Reiko?

On Friday’s cliffhanger of General Hospital, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) looks to be the next victim of the mysterious ‘hook’.  We won’t know till Monday how it plays out, but things are not looking good for the legal eagle in a preview for the airshow.

In story, Diane dropped by the garage that Brando worked at, looking for Sasha (Sofia Mattson).  At first, she bumps into Sonny (Maurice Benard) who is not pleased with Diane for trying to take him down on the witness stand during Nina’s hearing.  She shares she was helping her clients Michael and Willow as best she could.  Sonny says it was personal for him and he can’t forget what happened.

Next, Diane tells Sasha that she’s serving as her interim lawyer since Martin is unavailable and is there to discuss her guardianship. Sasha is scared that she’ll wind up behind bars now that Brando is gone.  Diane assures Sasha she will file a continuance to keep the process going to keep her out of jail. Diane asks where the guardianship papers may be, and Sasha tells her to check Brando’s office.

Dex (Evan Hofer), who is looking suspicious (but it has to be a red-herring, right?) is going to take Sasha home per Sonny’s orders, but Sonny also tells Dex to lock up when Diane is finished with her business.

Later, Diane in the dark, goes to Brando’s office to find the guardianship papers. Next, a figure appears in the doorway with the hook.  This time the ‘Hook’ looks to be of smaller stature leading many on social media that the person behind the violence could be Esme.

In other developments, Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) convoluted storyline, just got even more convoluted.  Liz looks at the photo she’s drawn and suddenly has a flashback revealing the woman’s face at the bottom of the stairwell.  She then tells Finn (Michael Easton) that after her recent session with Kevin, she recalls seeing the woman’s face. Conveniently, Finn was just talking about his late wife, Reiko with Gregory (Gregory Harrison).  So, when Liz talks to Finn, she sees a woman’s face on Finn’s phone.

Courtesy/ABC

Finn explains that the picture is of his late wife, Reiko.  He tells Liz he is working on a case that reminded him of Reiko, and he mentions being in the Mariana Islands with her. That makes Liz frantic and she decides to leave. Next, she heads home, where she locates a photo of her and her sister, Sarah. The photo is titled, “Elizabeth and Sarah, Mariana Islands, 1997.”

So, do you think Diane will perish or survive the attack by the ‘Hook’? Who is the ‘Hook”? What on earth is going on with Liz’s storyline? Share your thoughts and theories in the comment section below.  But first, vote in our latest ‘Michael’s Poll’ below by voting on which character is the culprit behind all of the bloodshed?
