Friday morning according to Soap Opera Digest, ABC has now officially confirmed the first airdate back for Kirsten Storms in her pivotal role as Maxie Jones!

Storms, who took a short leave from taping the series and was replaced temporarily by Molly Burnett, will be back in action on-screen on the upcoming Wednesday, August 3rd episode.

That is good news for GH fans, who have been excited to see how Kirsten mixes it up with new cast member Bree Williamson’s Claudette as their story with Nathan (Ryan Paevey) and Griffin (Matt Cohen) begins to pick up steam.

So, excited about the news of Kirsten’s on-air return in just a few weeks? Comment below.

I like MB’s more mature and measured portrayal of Maxie better. I hope KS adopts some of that into the Maxie character when she returns.

YES! Me too–thank you.

awwww.. I’m liking the substitute Molly Burnett Maxie.. she is not as ditzy juvenile as Kirsten’s Mixie.
0ooh well, at least I enjoyed sub Maxie lol ..

Oh damn, kill me now. I keep agreeing with suooo as of late.
For me, it’s like agreeing with Sarah Palin.
No offense, su00.
Can you see Russia from your house?

🙂

So excited to have Kirsten Storms coming back very soon! Missed her Maxie with Claudette.

Good. Molly filled in well but Kristen IS Maxie. Now a suggestion. Nick Stabile has been on fire as Nick. We all assume TC is coming back? Thats fine, Tyler is great as the Prince. Could ABC PLEASE use Nick Stabile as a recasted Nathan West? The character is in a big story and he CANNOT handle working with all the talent around him! He is ruining important scenes! Nick Stabile will knock it out of the park!

Ahhh, my Timmmbo. Firstly, I’d be heartbroken. I say; Do you want that on your conscience?
Secondly, he is too old to be Nathan!!!!! But, I do want him with Maura…..in whatever capacity.

Be sure to circle KS’s return date for your little man, Nico! He’ll be over the moon that “RealMaxie” is back!

@Shay.
LOL. Done and done.
Nico whined a bit here and there because he didn’t see Maxie. He recovers quite nicely as soon as his cousins come around. Playtime is apparently more important.
At least, she’s coming back before the school year starts and before he goes to day-camp.
He asked me if Maxie could come to his birthday party…LOL. Out of the mouth of babes.
Wow, Shay!! You remembered my son Nicholas’ moniker. Sweet.

Great idea, Timmm! The current Nathan is a snooze.

I suppose Maxie will sleep with Griffen after Claudette drugs Nathan and gets him to sleep with her…Maxie has also slept with Nathan and Claudette has slept with Griffen…here is the shocker…both women get pregnant…Maxie doesnt know if her child is Nathan’s or Griffen’s…Claudette doesnt know which one is the father of her child…one is Griffen’s and one is Nathan’s but which lady has which father’s child…oh, no…there was a baby switch at the hospital…Maxie thinks she has Griffen’s and Claudette’s is Nathan’s or is it the other way around?…they could easily figure out the baby switch-Maxie had a boy and Claudette had a girl but this is GH and both women dont recall the sex of their child-it will take two years to figure it all out-lol

I like this idea!!

Aha…I can always depend on you to make me laugh, Jimmy. You sound like a soap opera, Jimmy, HaHa!

Been there done that. In other words, you’re probably right.

I like Molly Burnett dahmit!
She is not juvenile and has grownup smarts about her ..
Molly Burnett as Maxie is more sophisticated in the role

but- Kristine Maxie will do .. lol

Agree su0000!! Molly has brought this wonderful maturity to Maxie..Kirsten’s Maxie, has been getting on my nerves for a couple of years..Her acting has not evolve and nor has her character, still the ditzy and whinny inmature Maxie.

Oh well, welcome back Ms Storms!

I don’t understand, Michael. What do you mean? I do not think Kirsten had a controlled substance problem. She had an issue with her skin, at least, that’s what I believed.

Yeah! Glad Kirsten is feeling better.
She can’t come back soon enough for me.

There is only one Maxi & that is Kristen Storms!

Im
Now hopimg Molly stays as Sara webber or a recast of Kiki Jerome

She needs to be Kiki!

I am kinda gonna miss Molly in the role ,but Kirsten IS Maxie. Hope I get to see Molly in another role soon on daytime ! She did very well subbing for Kirsten.

I can’t wait to have Kirsten back… she is Maxie and no one else has ever been able to do Maxie like she does. Jen came close, but Kirsten has something special that she brings to the role of Maxie!

Molly has not cut it at all in my opinion and I can’t wait to have the Maxie I love back!

I’m very happy Kirsten is soon back!
Molly did an OK job, but after seeing her in several different roles now, I still don’t care for her acting “style.” She does a couple weird things, with her mouth and body language, that bug me! LOL

Yes, Szima, I noticed that too. There are times she seems to be talking while trying to remove peanut butter from her teeth. Which, I believe, was how they got the horse in MR. ED to simulate talking. I actually didn’t mean that the way it sounded. I like Molly very much as Maxie and of the recent additions (the laughable Aaron –who probably couldn’t even SPELL chef– , Nurse Amy, Rachel’s mother, Andre, and especially Claudette) she is by far the best fit for GH. Maybe in a different role later on, or as a replacement for the hard-to-take Hunter King for a SORASED Summer Newman on Y&R?

Glad that Kirsten Storms is returning as Maxie. She’s just great. I did enjoy Molly Burnett’s temporary portrayal of Maxie, and I agree with Melissa that Molly Burnett played a more mature Maxie, and I’m hoping that Kirsten Storms will do the same, when she returns. Kudos to both Jen Lilley and Molly Burnett during their temporary time as Maxie. Claudette (Bree Williamson) is going to be a first-class b–ch-on-wheels! I just loved her as Jessica Buchanan on One Life to Live (ABC-TV, 1968-2012). You know, she’s reunited with Roger Howarth (Franco), who played her uncle, Todd Manning, on OLTL, as well as Michael Easton (Dr. Hamilton Finn), who played Det. John McBain on OLTL. You might have noticed that Todd (Roger Howarth) and Starr (Kristen Alderson) Manning, and Det. John McBain, as well as a few other OLTL characters, came to GH, after OLTL went off the air. After a little while, all the OLTL characters left town on GH. This was because Prospect Park Productions, the company that was producing All My Children and One Life to Live online, after both soaps ended their long runs on ABC-TV, in 2011 and 2012, respectively, owned the rights to both the AMC and OLTL characters, which is why the OLTL characters couldn’t remain on GH, because ABC-TV no longer owned the rights to these characters, and neither did GH. This is why Roger Howarth and Kristen Alderson returned to GH as the new Franco, and Kiki Jerome. Another interesting fact is that Emme Rylan, the new Lulu Spencer, replaced Hayley Erin, the new Kiki Jerome, as Abby Newman, on The Young and the Restless, so now GH has two of Y&R’s former Abby Newmans. Abby on Y&R is now played by Melissa Ordway, who appeared on 90210 (CW-11, 2008-2013), which was based on Beverly Hills, 90210 (FOX-5, 1990-2000). Also, on Halloween 2011, I met this young lady in our local supermarket, who was training for a job as a cashier. I could have sworn I was looking at Kirsten Storms. I told this young lady how very much she looked like Kirsten Storms, except her hair was more of a reddish blond. The young lady told me that she would like to see the actress I mentioned, and I told her that she could see Kirsten Storms on GH. I never saw this young lady again, because she didn’t get the cashier job, but guess what her name was?! Kristen! Isn’t that something?! Not only did she look exactly like Kirsten Storms, but her name was almost identical, except the “r” and “i” were reversed. Some coincidence, right?!

One thing I forgot to mention about the two temporary Maxie’s, is that Jen Lilley, after her temporary time as Maxie on GH, went on to play Theresa on Days of Our Lives, and dyed her hair, from blonde to red, for that role. Molly Burnett came in the opposite direction. She first played Melanie on Days of Our Lives, and then came to GH, to play Maxie temporarily, and left her hair as it was on Days of Our Lives, a sort-of, reddish brown.

I also often wonder whatever happened to two other actresses who played Maxie on GH?! Robyn Richards, who played Maxie for quite a while, and Danica Stewart, who played Maxie for a little while?! They both seem to have disappeared, and we really don’t hear anything about the two of them at all. The only thing I know is that after Danica Stewart left GH, she went on to play the fourth, and final, Jessica Bennett on the long-defunct supernatural soap opera, Passions (NBC-TV, 1999-2007; DIRECTV, 2007-2008). Other than this, I have no idea where these two actresses are now, or what they’re doing now!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
