On Saturday, at the conclusion of the Day of Days fan event 2022 at L.A. Live’s XBox Plaza in Los Angeles, a very special video announcement was played to those in attendances on the jumbotrons.

The video revealed Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Peter Reckell (B0) announcing they are back on set and taping new episodes of the Peacock streaming series as the beloved soap supercouple.

Alfonso shared that the duo are taping, “Something very special.”

When viewers last saw Hope and Bo, it was this past Summer during the Peacock limited-series, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter 2.

In that story, it was revealed that Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) was trying to bring Bo Brady back from the dead, while Hope got herself intertwined with Harris Michaels (played by also the returning Steve Burton) in the three prisms mystery which linked back to Bo’s resuscitation.

Be on the lookout for Kristian and Peter in all-new episodes of DAYS in 2023.

So, what do you think of Kristian and Peter returning to the mothership of Days of our Lives? Let us know in the comment section.  But first, you can see the official announcement from Day of Days below.

Beyond thrilled to have Bope back. Their Beyond Salem episodes were phenomenal. The show has not been the same without them. I love the ties to past storyline. Hope this is the first of many returns

Good news but oh, sometimes it is just too difficult to suspend belief to accept such plots. Is it too much for writers to lay out story possibilities when an actor leaves to avoids such repeated contrivances.

Could someone please goto Soap Opera Central Message Boards and let them know it’s the mother ship NOT Beyond Salem that they are returning to?

I am in the minority here but not happy they are returning. Oh I liked the couple back in their 90’s heyday but if this show is to survive on Peacock the show has to continue to be inclusive in terms of ethnicity and gender and continue to focus on its younger under 55 cast members. The show drags considerably when the young folk are not on and I fear Bo and Hope will just suck all the oxygen out of the room with their stupid storyline (just how many times can either of them come back from the dead… Read more »

Then don’t watch. Clearly you do not comprehend or appreciate the value and importance of iconic legacy characters in Daytime TV. Their absence has left a significant void in the show, just as the death of Joseph Mascolo as Stefano has done. I eagerly anticipate the return of Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell. And thank you Peacock for the continuous support and backing of Days of our Lives.

I appreciate and comprehend that the show is a lot more interesting with them gone than when they were on. But that’s the great thing about streaming. It will separate the contenders from the pretenders. Peacock will immediately know by the second what works snd what doesnt. And Days of our Retirement Lives reliving its glory days aint it.

From real estate agent to soap opera star, that’s where Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star Josh Flagg finds himself when he visits Salem and Days of our Lives on-air next spring.

According to a report from PEOPLE.com, Flagg will appear in the May 12th, 2023 episode streaming on Peacock.

When questioned how he came to be cast on DAYS, Flagg shared that the Days of our Lives casting team reached out to him because they thought he would “play this particular character very well.”

Turns out that Josh is a longtime fan of Days of our Lives and recalls watching the soap with his mother growing up.

NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell Says Peacock Hit 18M Paid Subscribers Up From 15M In September

On Monday, during a webcast session at the UBS TMT investors conference, NBC Universal CEO, Jeff Shell shared that the NBCUniversal streaming service, Peacock has hit 18 million paid subscribers.

Interestingly, that is an uptick of 3 million paid subscribers since the end of September of this year, where the service had 15 million.

As soap fans know, Days of our Lives debuted exclusively in its new home on Peacock on September 12th, and viewers who watched on linear TV and NBC had to switch modes and pay-in for a subscription to watch the show.  However, there has been no quantifying data released on just how well DAYS is performing on the platform.

In terms of its sustainability and its ad-supported streaming platform, Shell added: “We were late coming into streaming, but we clearly chose the right business model.”  Shell noted that this strategy has helped offset declines in linear TV revenues, and a worsening advertising market.

The CEO went to explain: “We believe in the premium video ad-supported, dual revenue stream essential broadcast and cable on streaming, driven by key programming.” Shell also shared that declines in cable subscribers is putting pressure on affiliate fees and advertising rates, so it’s becoming more important than ever for Peacock revenues to offset falling cable TV revenues and that the TV ad business is “definitely getting worse.”

So, what do you think of the uptick of subscribers to Peacock since September? Is Days of our Lives a key player in this? Have you gotten use to watching your favorite soap on the streaming platform? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
