On Thursday’s episode of General Hospital, the ABC soap opera welcomed back Lexi Ainsworth in the role of Kristina Davis, the daughter of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).  Lexi played the role previously, between 2009-2011.

Ainsworth first appeared in scenes reuniting her with her on-screen mom and sisters:  Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Haley Pullos (Molly) and Kelly Monaco (Sam).  After a brief moment where all the Davis girls were back together again, conflict soon began between them since Molly believes Sam’s dad, Julian (William deVry) shot Sonny.

Later, Kristina goes to General Hospital to see her ailing father who is recovering from life-saving surgery. First, Kristina meets up with her brothers: Morgan (Bryan Craig) and Michael (Chad Duell) who are outside of Sonny’s hospital room relieved that their dad pulled through.  However, the real emotional punch came when Kristina was able to sit by her father’s hospital bedside one-on-one.  Kristina related to Sonny that she should have told him she loved him more.

With tears in her eyes, and tears streaming down Sonny’s face, Kristina tells her dad: “You’re a part of me.  And you are the strongest, smartest, most powerful person I know.  And I don’t know if if I have ever told you this, but I am proud to be your daughter.”  Kristina goes on to say to her father, “Please, please be careful, because I can’t imagine losing you.”  It was touching scene between Lexi and Maurice Benard, to say the least.

So, what were your first impressions of having Lexi back as Kristina Davis? What did you think about her scenes with Maurice Benard? Who do you think could be a potential love interest for her?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Great scenes, I am so happy that Lexi is back as Kristina Davis. She is a wonderful actress. Welcome back Lexi.

Cute girl. I guess Sonny needs more cheerleaders…..

ugh! I could almost take more Sonny… if, it would mean, less of, NLG’ Alexis

Rah Rah!!!!! Yeah, that’s exactly what Sonny needs, CeeCee, another cheerleader! NOT! Bringing back this character was so unnecessary….as if we need any other reasons to feature more of Alexis and her 3×3 brood! As far as I’m concerned, Sam is the only offspring that is actually relevant to the show….the rest of the Davis bunch could leave–immediately!–and not be missed. (Most particularly, Alexis and her omnipresent cleavage! Hey, speaking of, check out the UK’s Katie Hopkins and her latest comments on Helen Mirren….they will sound VERY familiar! LOL…..) At any rate, I would be thrilled beyond words if Alexis At-The-Ready were the one to be felled by Morgan’s gun escapade, but I know that is but a pipe dream! (Even if she were in the actual line of fire, her darned industrial-strength bodysuit would probably deflect the bullets!)

Here, here, Patrick!

I’m so glad Kristina is back it’s good to have Davis Girls back together as well as the Conrithos Family and I’m very glad Lexi is back as Kristina Davis.

Agreed, I thought she knocked those scenes with Sonny out of the park. The dialogue was perfect and she delivered. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for her.

I’m so glad to see her she was meant for that role I’m glad she’s back and stays I hope she stirs up some stuff!

wonderful, just when we didn’t have enough Sonny worshipers.

Seriously!!!!! WTF is with all the Sonny love, and admiration??? Im going to gag if I hear anymore of it!!! We have heard he is loving, kind, honourable, wonderful father, great person, loyal, etc etc etc. I have been watching this greasy vile narcissistic murderer for 22 years, and he has NEVER displayed any of those qualities!! As recently as two years ago, he threatened to murder Carly because he thought she shot Olivia! Now there’s foreplay for you!!! Carly gets off on that crap though! Simply put….ENOUGH Sonny adoration!!!! If it was leading to his death, I could stomach it. But we all know that he will go down with the ship/show. And if he should leave before the show tanks, no eoubt he will expect a Tony Geary style send off. This should have been it!! There are only so many times characters can believably be shot! Unless we know the actor is leaving, there is zero emotional impact!

there was a moment… when I thought he was dead… on that gurney… he looks mummified ancient and ghastly…

his menacing mob stance… just has me rolling ( LOL )

his scenes of late… with Morgan ( who is the only actor, he has any real chemistry with, and the writers decided to can that… with the, like father like son, bi-polar… now their will be too many “comparisons” made… is he on right?

i’ll digress… he also has great chemistry with Avery

I’ve stated a million times… if the show figures out a way to get Maura West’ Ava, back… this is the “only” saving grace… for Maurice Benard

otherwise… he’s stale outdated… news… seriously… this pin up teen beat idol still has it?

Laura Wright’ Carly… just as uninteresting… has simply got to get with Rick Hearst’ (Ric Lansing) for any saving grace or salvage

You’re so right, Dylan. This latest canonization of “St. Sonny” is beyond the pale. I simply want to gag…..just like when AG “passed the torch” to MB on that foggy dock when he departed. That telling scene should have foreshadowed exactly what sort of storylines we were in for.

I guess I would’ve felt more emotion had she not had a happy reunion with her sisters first. Made her scenes with Sonny fall flat for me-if she was so concerned about her Dad she would’ve gone to see him first.

JMO of course everyone is entitled to theirs

I was so happy to see Kristina back n interacting w all of her family!!! I hope the TPTB saw how much Kristina was needed back on GH!!! Lexi did a fantastic job n her scenes w Maurice Benard made me tear up!!!

I would have preferred Lindsey Morgan instead. Lexi still looks too young. Her and Molly seem to be the same age and thats not historically correct! She is a good actress though. When the four girls were all together they certainly could all pass for mother and sisters. I bet all of them are close off screen and are probably happy Lexi returned?

I agree, I liked Morgan too. Unfortunately, she won’t be remembered well because of the awful reality-show story that she was stuck in. If she got to work with Nathan Parsons (Ethan) instead of what’s-his-name Trey, then she’d still be here.

THAT would be a hell of a couple!

Lindsey Morgan was a horrible actress, Lexi is a better actress. She fits in the role as Kristina.

Lindsey has gone on to have success and like Erick said, her story line was horrible when she was on GH.

I’m with you. Lindsey was HORRIBLE!!! That girl needed to be axed faster than Kiki needs to be. Lexie fit right in, looks comfortable, and not forced; shows she can act. Lindsey was a flatline.

I agree and thought that right away.. I did not ever watch gh when she was on previously.. she is a good actress from what I have seen so far though…. lets hope she gets a good storyline..

I don’t care for this actress in the role of Kristina. She always seems to be too young for the character.

She’s actually older than the character should really be, lol….

I think to say that it was an emotional highlight is overstatement but she was good at what she had to do. I have to wait to see what stories develop for her before I make a complete decision. So far, so good is all I can say now.

It’s great having Lexi back but I heard it’s a brief return so unless she’s sticking around to answer your question, who would I like to see her paired with, there really isn’t any one on the canvas currently, all the young guys are related to her and all the old guys are too old..

She’s already in the opening montge, which means she’s under contract and will probably be around for awhile.

that’s what I thought… who could she be paired with? Dillan? we already know.. that , his tempestuous scenes with Lulu… are DOA…

it’s Lulu and Dante… and no story… even a pregnant Valerie is going to come between

I really liked Lindsey Morgan… she is much more mature looking… sexier, and more appealing

ugh! just don’t force any more scenes than necessary with NLG’ Alexis

@Patrick…I second your emotion on Lindsey Morgan. She was much more convincing as Sonny’s daughter in both appearance and temperament….a real “chip off the old Corinthos,” so to speak!

I thought, General Hospital uses a Xerox Machine: Kristina and Molly look like twins. I have started watching General Hospital for the last years, that’s why I do not know Kristina and I don’t really care about her. It’s such a tragedy to watch the rapid decline of the serie!

I wasn’t watching when she was first on, but my first thought was she looks younger than Molly, but they look very much a like that it is believable they are sisters with the same mother and cousins, since their dads are brothers.

She was actually quite good when she was on before she had the storyline where she was getting beat up by her boyfriend and would not tell anyone. But JFP at the time did not think she was sexy enough Nancy Grahn and several others were furious over her firing as they should have been. Good little actress .

Loved having LA back as Kristina and loved the Davis girls stuff. GH should be promoting/focusing on characters and moments like this instead of Sonny & mob wars. Seeing Sonny’s kids tell him how amazing he is for two straight weeks has not endured me to Sonny or his portrayer.

I love this more edgy portrayal that Lexi does of Christina Corinthos. You can totally see that spit fire in her that I would imagine a kingpin mobboss would have in his eldest daughter. Wow, what a perfect match! Why did you ever let her go??? She blends well with the actors who play her brothers. I love the actress who plays Carly currently. I liked Sarah Brown as Carly, but I loved her as Claudia Zacchara. Can you bring her back? And Sam as Julian Jerome’s daughter-how interesting is that!! Thanks GH. I’ve been a loyal fan since 1976. Keep it up! And isn’t it about time Frisco comes back to rock Felici’s world again and turn it upside down again?!! Last words-where’s Robin?? Sam and Dr Drake are going stale again! This would be good drama because we love SAM and we love ROBIN.

Oh, the family tree! It’s so hard to keep everyone straight. So Kristina’s sister’s (Molly’s) dad (Ric) is her father’s (Sonny’s) half brother. Her other sister’s (Sam) dad (Julian) is the brother of her newest sister’s (Avery) mother (Ava). Sonny has 5 kids, all by different moms. Alexis has 3 kids, all by different fathers. Elizabeth has 3 kids, all by different fathers. Carly has how many kids? Presumably all by different fathers. Julian has 3 kids, all from different moms. Olivia has 2 kids, both with different fathers. Are there no kids on this show anymore who share both biological parents – mom and dad? This is why it’s so confusing to keep up with this show anymore. Please bring a little sanity back to this show, please.

Lucky and Lulu… that’s all I got.

True, but Lucky is not on the show. Lulu’s only brother on the show is half-brother, Nicholas. Speaking of the Spencers/Baldwins, forgot to add that Bobbi has two kids, also not biologically related and that Scotty has four kids all by different moms, too. Nothing against non-traditional families, but it just makes it hard to grasp the emotional core of the show, when you don’t have one or two families to anchor the world. That’s why I would make Robin’s next visit one where she brings a young son back. She got pregnant on her last visit. This way, Emma would have a little baby brother. Additionally, Liz has a sister, Sarah, who could return. They do have an adopted (?) or half-brother in Steven who is also a doctor, like Sarah. So maybe those three – Liz, Sarah and Steve – could provide that balance. Bring back Sarah with 3 small kids (all from the same dad), wanting to come home and start over after a bad break up with her ex. We also get more hospital stories.

I had a good laugh as I was reading your comment, downtownla. I am not familiar with Christina. Is this the original? I only caught a few episodes with the last girl, as Christina. I liked her.
This Christina could pass as a fifteen-year old; and Sam looks old enough to be mother to both girls, never mind their sister.
But, all is forgiven…..literary Justice? Nah! LOL. If you can’t keep track of what child belongs to what progenitor, how do you think I feel, as a newbie? LOL.
I actually FF’ed Christina’s scene with Sonny. I can’t bear it!
Then, there’s Morgan and his lumbering around town looking for Julian. Lordy Lord, help those who can’t help themselves! LOL. Now, that’s quite an invocation.!!
I suppose stupidity runs within Sonny’s ‘entourage’? What’s that guy’s name? Dum&%? Milo? What did he say to Michael about Morgan? …” He’s gotta gun. Ummmm, I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to give it to him…duh” !!!! WHAT ????? And, to add insult to injury, Michael told him, ” I know, I know”.
Seriously, writers? What the hey? The writing team mates characters look brainless; then when they are called on it; we are criticized as complainers. C’mon! Very remiss of them.
Sonny should school his minions, especially this lummox, not to give guns to anyone with which to play. That was such a blunder and blooper by the writers….what to do, what to do.
I am also wondering if Morgan is an expert with a gun? He looked very comfortable holding it. I would have thought that a tyro would hold a gun within a shaky hand….but, Morgan held it hand over hand as cops do on TV. Oh, well.
What I loved about this episode was seeing Ava return in all her glory. WOW. Love the new hair style…no hairspray…loose and clean. You go Girl!!!! She looked great !! The black dress stole the show. Well, it did for me. Later.

Well the writing is still Ron’s so not surprised that Milo’s stupidity line was there typical of the dialogue RC would put in.

Awesome Episode, had me choking up 🙂

Glad the Ava’s blonde hair is back!!!!

I can see Sonny’s kids rallying around their dad…but you’d think he was St. Sonny and Carly was Mother Theresa. Come to think of it, they didn’t have a priest there in case Sonny needed last rites. Don’t like how Michael back-pedalled from being Avery/AJ’s champion, and tabled how his real bio-dad AJ was treated and killed by Sonny. He was actually showing some real conviction and backbone for a while. And Morgan is obviously out of control, and nobody is doing anything to help or stop him knowing full well there may be bi-polar issues. So we’re in for more dark side stuff. GH writers give us a break!

I like the actress and I thought she was good, unfortunately she is just one more member of the Sonny cheering section to raise him higher on his undeserved pedestal.

I like her, she’s good. She also looks like she could really be Molly’s sister.
I do, however, wish her return was predicated on something other than being there at Sonny’s side.
I also wish her mother would stop smirking like an embarrassed adolescent every time the subject of her bad boy to comes up in front of her daughters. It’s ridiculous, Alexis is supposed to be a smart woman but she appears to be stupid and sex driven when it comes to her dating choices.

I agree with Justin: too many Sonny worshipers. Plus, Rose and I are on the same page about Michael turning his back on A.J. by jumping on Sonny’s band wagon again. However, I don’t know what’s happening lately because I’m not watching G.H. anymore. As I stated before when the show allowed Michael to return to Sonny’s corner and forget that he killed his father, that was it for me. That’s the reason I left G.H. some years back ; the show allowed the mob to wield too much power , or should I say Sonny. The Qs were played as if they were powerless. I’ll say this again, (as I’ve said in other comments ) G.H. writers should pattern the show’s Q Family after Young and the Restless’ Victor Newman ; one powerful guy! Some viewers may hate Victor ; however, he doesn’t permit anyone to usurp his authority!

I liked Lexi but , nothing could entice me to watch the Everyone loves Sonny show. Krissy use to have no illusions about her killer father. She actually knew he almost killed her putting a bomb in Johnny’s car. So my stomach could not have taken it. In one day tiic ruined the whole show. TIIC may just as well call the show Sonny’s family because all of the show is related to him.Jake takes out half the town without a gun no less. Stupid TJ tells his mother the cop he owes Sonny for saving him. gag me. He also gave the human time bomb the place to go where he could kill Molly’s mother ?Stupid doesn’t even say half of it. Carly is praying all over the place and we know Scummy won’t die. So I decided to watch Days and go to the gym.

I love that Lexi is back as Kristina. Go Davis girls. I hope she stays.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
