Lindsay Hartley Back as General Hospital’s Sam McCall Filling-in for Kelly Monaco

This week on General Hospital, look for Lindsay Hartley to once again fill-in for Kelly Monaco in the role of Sam McCall. As viewers know, GH tapes their current airshows several weeks in advance.

Look for Hartley to appear in episodes from September 16th-2oth. According to Soap Opera Digest, Lindsay taped this batch of episodes when she replaced Kelly during the funeral for the baby Kristina was carrying for Molly and TJ.

Since GH tapes scenes from episodes many times out of order, the block of time Hartley appeared was all shot concurrently. Recently, fans were shocked to learn Monaco was being written-off the show, which the series says is a ‘storyline-dictated’ move. In addition, as we previously reported, Hartley was not asked to replace Monaco in the role, but instead the plan is for the character of Sam to be killed-off.

Over the weekend, Kelly teased she has more to say on the situation and honored her time with her beloved former co-star, the late Billy Miller (ex-Jason/Drew, General Hospital), who’s one-year anniversary of his passing was on September 15th. Miller had taken his own life, in this real-life tragedy.

Monaco wrote, “Duces ‘I’ve got your back, and you always had mine.’ I will tell our story soon enough…. 😇🙏🏻❤️ I love and miss you… and beyond.”

So, looking forward to seeing Lindsay back on GH as Sam? Comment below.

Sam being killed off is the final straw for me. Not even Jonathan Jackson is enough to make me change my mind.

I completely agree. The treatment Kelly has received is despicable, and the anger I feel now transcends any previous goodwill I had for General Hospital. Going forward, I will not support any program associated with the names Frank Valentini or Nathan Varni. Congrats to TPTB, you’ve royally screwed over a beloved actress and lost at least one family of GH viewers in the process. So unbelievably sad….

Keep in mind there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Just because we love the character doesn’t mean we know what is happening. This isn’t the first time LH has filled in for Kelly. Maybe there is something going on with Kelly and she is unable to commit to come to work. I think it will be good to hear her side of the story. I am wondering if she will go to DOOL or Y&R.

Still think this is not “storyline dictated” there is something else at play here, Lindsey has replaced her way too often.

Love Lindsay, wish GH would keep her on as Sam instead of killing the character off.

Love Lindsay too!!
Come on GH….give her the part and don’t kill the character.

Last night Kelly posted on her instagram “I took the cut. That’s all I have to say for now”

This is below her tribute to Billy. She also added several hashes to her tribute to Billy. Specifically one aimed at Nathan Varni!!

The Chef, what does he have to do with anything?

Kelly deserves to stay. She is a legend on the show and has lots of family on GH. Having said that, keep Lindsay Hartley on the show, as well. She could play Sam’s sister she didnt know she had. Or, what I like better, make Lindsay the younger sister of Allison’s mother. Those two would be great together. Have Blaze’s aunt show up and grill the hell out of Natalia. Eva and Lindsay could Definity play sisters. Both great actresses.

No not happy about Hartley. I like Kelly Monaco. She is Sam

All I can say is, the court room of the three Davis Sisters recasts were way more believable when Alexis walked in. I feel for ALL of the original Davis Sisters, with whatever reasons for them not being on GH. Nancy/Alexis is holding this family together. Hopefully after she makes her way out of court/custody she has an opportunity to “play” with Martin or SB Mason – that really could be fun!

Kristen Vaganos continues to knock it out of the park as Molly. She even holds her own on scenes with Benard.

I really like Lindsey as Sam mcall!

I’d like to know why Jason didn’t don his diving gear and go looking for that non- smoking gun, rather than go looking for Lucky with that shrew, Anna? Makes more sense to me to have him here, we all know how this stuff with Lulu will turn out, Sam’s life for hers, SUCKS!

First, I appreciate the dedication Kelly Monaco’s fans have shown in their efforts to keep her around.

However, with the sparks we’re seeing this week from Lindsay Hartley, the decision to let KM go is more understandable.

LH has tapped into Sam’s anger in way we haven’t seen from KM in ages.

Sam’s imminent demise may provide Jason with a paradigm shift the character desperately needs.

If a body isn’t found (or it’s left ambiguous) LH can return in some form down the road.

All this is said with no animosity towards Kelly. Just observations from a long time viewer.

Well, after today, it appears that Sam is going to do some river diving looking for that gun her mom tossed off the bridge. If that’s how she “dies” then we know it’s only temporary, because nobody ever really drowns in that river.

She will probably turn up in Tricky Dick Nixon Falls with amnesia.

I hope your thoughts on no one ever really dies in that river hold true for Julian Jerome.
Ava needs her brother back and I really would like William DeVry back on our screens.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

MONDAY, AUGUST 3

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
