Lindsay Hartley Returns to GH Temporarily Filling In for Kelly Monaco

Photo: IMDB

Beginning on tomorrow’s Thursday, February 3rd episode of General Hospital, look for a return from soap vet, Lindsay Hartley (Ex-Theresa, Passions and Ex-Arianna, DAYS) when she once again takes over the role of Sam on the ABC daytime drama series.

Hartley was back and temporarily replacing Kelly Monaco, when Monaco took a brief break from her role in January.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Monaco is already back at the studio filming all-new episodes as Sam.

Lindsay last filled in for Kelly back in August of 2020.

In a tweet to Michael Fairman TV on Wednesday, Hartley shared: “I am very thankful for this opportunity. I am grateful to General Hospital and Kelly Monaco for trusting me again with such a special character that Kelly has created for the soap community and for the genre that is forever dear to me.”

Look for Hartley to appear in a few upcoming episodes.

So, looking forward to seeing Lindsay again as General Hospital’s Sam? Comment below.

Well said, S. Who knew Sam could be even more boring and less consequential? But this temp-replacement guarantees it.

This must be temp hire week over at GH. We had Temp Marshall, Temp Leo, and now Temp Sam.

Love her in the Lifetime movies. Glad she can fill in from time to time. Now GH bring Vincent Irizzary on as another Cassadine or even AMC David.

HALLELUJAH!!
Sam is worn out uck; no longer what she was 100yrs ago–
Speaking for myself- Sam is very hard to tolerate.
Thanky god I’ll get a break from her.
I remember Lindsay as Sam and she was/is a keeper, for sure.
Looking forward to seeing her again.

If wishes came true then Lindsay would permanently replace kelly

Iam a long time fan of Lindsay from AMC. I would love any role she got her teeth into.

Just another thought from my previous post. Seeing her today acting kind of playful, too happy to play Sam who always seems like she has a stick planted too far to reach, What a difference!

I dont mind Kelly. BUT, Lindsay and Cameron Matheson would have a ton more chemistry together!

Agree, but afraid he might be getting too close to Carly. I was starting to like him and hate seeing him get tangled up with her.

She brings energy to all of her roles. Sam is unrecognizable as played by her…in a very good way.

Only three episodes and the amount of sheer emotion and attitude Lindsay Korman-Hartley has brought back into the role of Sam McCall is refreshing. I’ve never seen so much agreement for a temporary recast, and the desire to make her hiring permanent.

It is high-time TPTB bring on Cara Castillo. Ms. Korman-Hartley should not be off soaps.

Hartley makes Sam fun and rootable. Not sure they can bring on any AMC characters with the potential “Pine Valley” series still under consideration. Perhaps Sarah Webber or a recast Hayden Barnes (if TPTB don’t want to bring Budig back).

I could almost see her as a Sarah recast…. though Sarah was always a blonde so she might have to bleach her hair. But I’d really rather see her go back to Days, where she might be able to extract both of her siblings’ heads from their respective craniums.

I don’t see why they couldn’t bring on All My Children characters, which I would think would increase Disney-ABC’s chances of bringing Pine Valley to life in primetime.

And, in truth, I don’t se Korman-Hartley working in either the role of Sarah or Hayden. Truthfully, I’d rather see Rebecca Budig resume her role as Hayden, and I would love to see Bethany Joy Lenz cast as Sarah.

GH Alums Chloe Lanier and Johnny Wactor Guest Star on ‘Station 19’

You can catch two of your favorites, who you first came to know from their work on General Hospital, on tomorrow night’s March 16th episode of the ABC primetime drama, Station 19 (8 p.m. ET).

Look for Daytime Emmy-winner Chloe Lanier (ex-Nelle) and Johnny Wactor (ex-Brando) to appear within the hour-long show.

In the episode titled, “Even Better than the Real Thing”, Lanier will play the role of Ciara.

According to ABC in story: a simulation fire training goes dangerously wrong; Maya tries to make amends, and Bailey encourages Carina to listen; Jack’s sister shows up at the station with a friend, an injury and an attitude.

Chloe took to her Instagram to share,  “I get into a bit of trouble on Station 19 this Thursday. Directed by the incomparable and lovely Paris Barclay! (I’m a big fan) Had such a great time working on this one and I can’t wait for you all to see it.”

Meanwhile, Wactor looks to be playing a fireman in the episode, and took to his IG and shared: “Catch me on Station 19 this Thursday, 3/16 at 8 PM. I’m excited. Too bad I can’t do a live watch party on here. I’ll have to do some research because a watch party would be fun!”

Jane Elliot Returns to General Hospital This April

Although it was previously announced back in January (during ABC’s TCA Winter Press Tour) that Jane Elliot would be returning to General Hospital, the soap opera and Soap Opera Digest have confirmed that Jane’s first episode back will air next month on April 17th.

While Elliot won’t be a part of the Nurses’ Ball which airs the week of April 3rd, as part of the show’s 60th anniversary episodes, the Daytime Emmy-winning fan favorite will be back in action during the anniversary month and beyond.

As viewers know, Jane originally decided to retire back in 2017, and so Tracy was written off to join Luke Spencer in Europe.  Since that time, Elliot has come back to the show for a few appearances.

The last time we saw Tracy was at the beginning of 2022, when she came home to Port Charles to give the shocking and tragic news that Luke had been killed in a cable car crash.  Tracy eventually went back to Amsterdam, where they had been living, to settle his affairs following his death.

Will Tracy’s return help bring down Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) who is believed to be behind Luke’s death? Could Tracy learn Luke is really alive after all? Stay tuned.

So, excited that Jane Elliot’s return to GH is just around the corner? Comment below.
