Lynn Herring Returning To General Hospital!

Well word on the street was out that General Hospital was looking to resurrect its classic Nurses Ball, especially with Robin believed to be “dead”, that event would become all the more meaningful and drama-filled.  And with that came speculation that Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe) would be making a return also! And now via Soap Opera Digest it has been confirmed!

Fan favorite Herring will be reprising her delicious role of Lucy on December 14th, when Lucy is sought out to lend her expertise with the event!  Remember all the wacky episodes where Lucy was in charge and running around trying to keep the Nurses Ball together? Or, from falling apart? Or, from all the last minute emergencies?

Herring’s return is just another fantastic blast from the past, that executive producer Frank Valentini, and head writer, Ron Carlivati, are delivering to long time fans of GH by bringing back some of the beloved vets!

So, are you excited to see Lynn again as Lucy Coe?  Do you like the idea of GH bringing back the Nurses Ball?  Let us know!

Yes to Lynn Herring. Yes to the Nurses Ball.

Two big thumbs up !!

I knew this one was coming! So glad to see her back.

Absolutely happy. Can’t wait to see her in action again.

Best GH news of 2012 for me!

Great news! Lynn is greatly missed, she’d be a great addition. However, this sounds very temporary. Hopefully she’ll be asked to stay.

Wow!! Wonder if these are short term stints for Tristan, Sean and Lynn? Big canvas over there GH! Hope there is storytelling for everyone and not just fixtures in PC. Nice to see her back though!!

I LOVE Lucy! Is she back long term or is this a shirt term gig??? So excited!!!!!

Yes yes yes!! Nurses Ball… when Sabrina asked why it had been discontinued, I shouted out “because it was too much fun for the regime that took over and ruined this show!” Sorry, my mob-hate knows no end.

Anyway, LOVE Lynn Herring… she represents some of the best that this show has ever had to offer. Is she short term or open ended?

Not to be a downer, but I hope the presence of so many beloved GH vets isn’t a ‘last hurrah’ for the show. Now that the show is once again watchable, it would be great to enjoy it for years to come!

Yes, Andrew. I wonder the same about the “last hurrah”. I’m almost nervous to be excited for vets to return for this reason. I want them back soooooo badly and not just for a 1-7 day brief visit. More Qs! Bobbie! Laura! Robert!

Shut the front door. I could not be more estactic! Now just bring back Jackie Zeaman. Her character, Bobbi, and Lucy duke it out a few times in the past. We need a classic cat fight.

Yes, and I would love to see how they would explain Bobbi’s absence during Joslyns illness, Luke’s intervention, the water contamination, etc… Because she just left her shift one day & was (to the best of my memory) never scene or mentioned again.

Great news love Lynn and the nurses ball……

yes yes yes………..i want to yell from my rooftop and spread the word…………how refreshing GH has been. I have not been this excited to watch GH in a long time. I hope more people get on board and watch however they can.

Absolutely fantastic news!

I think it’s Great that Lynn Herring will be coming back as Lucy Coe for the Nurses Ball! Now if they would just bring back Jackie Zeaman as Bobbie Spencer!

Loving these Blasts From the Past on GH!! Thank you Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini!!!

and ALAN too!

I’m guessing that this might all lead into the 50th anniversary…OR is that too far away? Good new, though!

so very happy she is coming back wish she would be back for a bit .

I love that FV and RC are bring back in so many of the loved vets, even if for a limited time, it is awesome to see them again..
I wish there were a list of all the appearance and or longer term favorites vets that have been brought back since FV and RC took over., there are many. also the new characters created this past year.
And keeping with GH tradition the Nurses Ball will once again be enjoyed!!
I am totally loving GH It truly is alive and thriving under the new team of FV and RC!!

YEAH TO BOTH! I was wondering if the Nurses Ball would come back, especially after Emma brought out the photo album. I just went ‘ahhh. i miss Lucy…’ when they showed her photo.

would be great if Robin crawled in at the Ball… or even if she showed up backstage and Lucy could scream and think she was seeing Robin’s ghost rather than the real thing! 😀

This is AWESOME news!!! I always felt that the JFP regime gave Lynn the shaft. It was widely reported in the soap press that if spin-off Port Charles failed, that Lynn Herring and Jon Lindstrom would have guaranteed jobs back at the mother ship, GH. That was not honoured when PC was cancelled. I never liked or “got” the character of Lucy until Claire Labine wrote the show, and scripted the best storyline possibly in all of soap history…BJ’s heart transplant into Maxie. Lucy Coe, for the first time in her cartoonish existence, became a real flesh and blood character. Subsequently, I loved her!! The Nurses Ball was an integral part of the show for the better part of a decade!! It was something we viewers looked forward to each year, knowing that it would be an opportunity for storylines to converge and for the cast to shine. A lot of the heart was sucked out of the show under Guza and Phelps, and the Nurses Ball was part of that. Reinstating the Ball would go a long way towards showing viewers that the powers that be care! There are not currently as many characters on the show to root for as there used to be, but that can be worked on. Bring the event back!!

Fantastic!!! Frank and Ron are the best! Now, if they bring back Vanessa Marcil to write the true love story between Sonny and Brenda. The last time was horrible!

Yes ! Very exciting !

Best news yet. Thanks GH!

I hope Doc comes back with Lucy!

SO DAMN EXCITED FOR THE NURSE’S BALL TO COME BACK!

I love that Frank and Ron are going back to GH staples! 🙂 Way to do it right on a soap!

Hope Kevin comes too!

Wondering if she’s on contract, or recurring, or just a one or two episode deal. I hope she’s back for a long term story line. Also, for the love of soaps, bring back Jackie Zeman!! Can’t get over how good GH has been since Frank & Ron took over. They really know how to put together a good soap.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

YES she was also a very fine vampire slayer!

yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to be a party pooper because I love me some Lynn Herring but December? Wasn’t this held every year for about six or seven years in a row in June?

The Nurses Ball was centered around the Day of Compassion.

the Day of Compassion was an annual tv event from 93-98 – that started on OLTL with the Billy Douglas storyline. The creator of the Day was so moved by that OLTL storyline, that he contacted the producers of all ten daytime dramas, suggesting that on June 21, their shows mention AIDS and HIV in some way.

World’s Aids Day is December 1 – that is global and started in 1988.

Hey, I’ll take The Nurses Ball in any month I can get it! December, June, August, March, whatever. I used to love watching them so much. There was an awful lot of hidden talent on that show that shined during The Ball.

Best. News. Ever. Thank you Cartini, thank you GH and something I never thought I would say post-April 2011…thank you ABC. Ouch, that was actually painful. But, YEAH!

I definitely can empathize with how you feel. I’m not quiet ready to tell Frank Valentini thank you yet, but I’m able to tweet him without telling him I can’t stand him, so I guess I’m on my way, LOL baby steps, right? It will be great to have Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) back on. She is truly one of a kind.

What is his twitter address?

Its @valentinifrank.
Here’s the link to his twitter page: http://twitter.com/valentinifrank

thank god for bring Lynn Herring aka Lucy Coe back and what about Kevin(Lucy’s hubby)???

I didn’t watch GH with her on it before, but I did catch a few episodes of PC and liked her there. GH is so good right now it’s crazy! I am sure this will only add more dynamic to an already great show. How long is she staying?

When they mentioned Lucy Coe on air the other day with Emma and Sabrina talking about the nurses ball I wondered if she would be coming back. Hope they bring back the nurses ball too!

This is awesome news and hopefully another step in thr right direction! GH is getting as good as ever; have missed the Nurse’s Ball along with the Christmas story that Steve, and then Allen, read to the children every year That too would be a great addition/comeback!

Great news…. What about Tiffany & Shawn Donnelly….

insanely excited by this news.

This is the best GH news ever. Lucy Coe is my have GH character ever, and I can’t wait to have her back. The only thing to top it is if she stays on the show for a while. Lynn Herring as Lucy Coe always gave the show comedy, sex and sparkle, and GH could use that. (I even named one of my cats after Lucy.)

Return of Nurses Ball! Bring back t-shirts; Still wear mine! Great fund raiser

i’m stoaked! always been my fave! Lynne Herring made the show if u ask me!

I can’t wait for the Nurses Ball! That was always something I looked forward to every year – I loved seeing the cast show their “other” talents. I think they should make it an extra long one to make up for all the years in between!

I am soooooo excited they are bringing Lucy, Lynn Herring back! She made the show!!! I hope they will keep her on forever. She brings so much to the show and everyone at my work place will join back in watching GH because of Lucy!!!!!!!

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Brook Lynn and Chase Have Their Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

On General Hospital, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) both were treated to Bachelorette and Bachelor parties to shake off any of those pre-wedding jitters. At The Savoy, the ladies have a touching and fun time with Brook Lynn.

The bride-to-be gives a speech to thank everyone for coming, while Lois lets everyone know to try the signature cocktail the “Brooklynn Chaser”, which gets everybody eventually and mostly, drunk.

When Tracy (Jane Elliot) questions Lois (Rena Sofer) as to why there is no music for the party, Lois realizes she forgot, and somehow, who does she call to the rescue? Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)! Saving the day, he winds up playing some tunes and later gets on the dance floor to ‘shake it off’ with the gals.

Photo: ABC

Lois makes a speech as the mother of the bride, and shares how proud she is of the woman Brook Lynn has become. Wedding games begin, including one of “hot potato” with a wedding bouquet.

When it’s time for the “Silly Poses” section of the party, Spinelli has now morphed from DJ to staff photographer taking memorable photos of the ladies to remember the evening by.

Photo: ABC

The best part of the event, was when Brook Lynn tries to get her grandmother Tracy out on the dance floor, which, at first, she refuses. After several of the guests bust a move, a tipsy Tracy joins the dance party after Joss mentions that if her grandmother Bobbie was here, she would dance. Tracy says “she agrees” and begins to cut a rug on the floor, much to the delight of the other women.

Photo: ABC

In the final moments, a tipsy Joss and Kristina (Kate Mansi) have a confrontation about Sonny, and Joss lets Kristina in more on Sonny’s behavior, which looks to have clued in Kristina a bit more as to how something is way off about her dad.

Across town at the Hatchett Bar, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and the men with the exception of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper), all attend Chase’s Bachelor Party where throwing hatchets into a dart board for supremacy is the order of the day. Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ned (Wally Kurth) get into some words over ELQ, while Dante makes a toast to his police partner, Chase.

Photo: ABC

Suddenly Dex (Evan Hofer) shows up. Chase thanks Dex for coming, but Dex gets some dirty looks from other cops on the force. Dante gives Chase his present, which is a signed baseball by the Boston Red Sox.

Ned (Wally Kurth) makes a speech that although no one is good enough for his daughter, Brook Lynn, Chase has come closer than anyone has, so welcome to the family. Running in at the end is Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who just left Brook Lynn’s party, and she toasts her singing partner, Chase, and to the great man that he is.

Cameron Mathison Previews New Game Show ‘Beat The Bridge’ (Promo)

As previously reported, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) will be seen doing double duty this summer when he premieres in June as the host of Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge.

Now, while Cameron will be the host with the most, that doesn’t mean he will stop playing GH’s Drew.  In fact, Mathison taped the game show in 2023, so it will now air for the first time in 2024.

Taking to his Instagram this week, Cameron shared his enthusiasm and some new hosting snaps, sharing, “Our newest game show host reporting for duty😎 Head over to the Game Show Network YouTube channel for your first look at the show and don’t miss Beat The Bridge premiering this June! I can’t wait for you guys to see this!”

Photo: GSN

In Beat The Bridge, an enormous interactive bridge dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. As they play, each steps forward and puts money in their team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. Here’s the catch: the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires.

Meanwhile, on GH, Drew and Nina (Cynthia Watros) recently had hate-sex. Do you think its a one-time deal? Where will Drew’s story take him next under new head writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte? Stay tuned.

Now below, check out the first promo for Beat The Bridge from the Game Show Network with you host, Cameron Mathison.  Then, let us know, will you be checking out the game this summer? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Confronts Ava for Sabotaging Her Relationship With Sonny and Signs the Divorce Papers

Looks like Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Ava (Maura West) are back to be each other’s sworn enemy number one. By the end of the Monday, April 22nd episode of General Hospital, the women know where they stand with each other after Nina goes in on Ava accusing her of wanting Sonny (Maurice Benard) all to herself, while her marriage has been on the rocks.

In story, at Nina’s office, Ava shows up to see Nina and says she is sorry about what happened with Sonny and that he reacted the way he did, acknowledging that is was over the top, even for Sonny. Ava says she’ll smooth things over, but Nina says she now understands how manipulative and transparent Ava really is.

Given their horrible history, Nina goes in on Ava and how she should never have trusted her. Nina wants to know how long has Ava had this agenda dating all the way back to telling Nina to turn Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC. Ava says she never told her do to that, but Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Courtesy/ABC

Ava says she moved in with Sonny to keep Avery safe and she wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father, Sonny. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s inner circle. Ava tells Nina if she goes to him about her advising Nina to call the SEC on Carly and Drew, it won’t work.  Sonny still considers Nina a traitor and he will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to win him back. Ava says if Nina would stop blaming everyone else that maybe Sonny would respect her.  Nina says “like he does you?” Ava says Sonny not only respects her, but he also counts on her.

From there, Ava launches into why she and Sonny understand each other, after all, Sonny is a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. She goes so far to say if Nina wanted someone to just sit by the fire with and play with their grandchildren, she’s got the wrong guy.  Ava then talks about Mike from Nixon Falls (Sonny with amnesia) and how Sonny hid the darkest parts of himself from Nina back then, whereas with Ava they are the same similar creatures, so he doesn’t have to hide anything.

Courtesy/ABC

Nina wants to know just what Ava wants with Sonny? What is her end game? Ava responds that they understand each other, in ways she can’t with Sonny. Nina tells Ava she can go ahead and have it all and signs Sonny’s divorce papers. Ava walks out with the documents, while Nina in tears at her desk, takes off her wedding rings and has her assistant come in so she can messenger the rings back to Sonny’s address.

The episode and these scenes featured great performances by Cynthia Watros and Maura West. You can check some of the scenes below.

Now, let us know, what is Ava’s next move? Is she going to become Mrs. Sonny Corinthos? Do you like Ava and Nina as enemies? Comment below.
