As it has been in the works for awhile,and  on Monday news broke that the CBS Corporation reached an agreement to sell its 25-acre CBS Television City property including its soundstage operations, to real estate developer Hackman Capital Partners for $750 million.

Hackman Capital also acquired the rights to use the Television City trademark.  The deal is expected to close by early 2019 on the historic property.

So what does this mean for your CBS soaps? Well, they aren’t losing their digs for quite some time!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “CBS said that a handful of programs that film at Television City, including The Late Late Show With James Corden, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and The Price Is Right, will continue being produced on the property for at least the next five years.”

In a statement Joseph Ianniello, president and acting CEO of CBS Corporation said “The sale of Television City unlocks significant value, increasing CBS’ financial flexibility, including the ability to redeploy capital for strategic growth initiatives such as additional content investment. At the same time, we will be transitioning this venerable site to a new owner who is committed to its legacy as both a cultural landmark and modern production facility. Hackman Capital has demonstrated terrific stewardship of classic properties, including their development of the landmark Culver Studios.”

Liz Lemon’s former assistant on 30 Rock, Cerie Xerox, is making a move to daytime.  Not really! But the actress who played her, Katrina Bowden is on her way to be a series regular on CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful!

According to TV Line who broke the casting news, Bowden will be a woman who shares a past with Dr. Buckingham (Wayne Brady).

Look for the character named, Flo, to hit the canvas on January 14th.

Could this be a triangle on its way involving Taylor/Buckingham/Flo?

This isn’t Bowden’s first soap turn. She previously got her career started on One Life to Live in a multi-episode story arc back in 2006.

In addition to appearing in all seven seasons of 30 Rock, she has also appeared in Psych, Ugly Betty, New Girl and several Lifetime Movies.

This morning, nominations were announced in the fields of motion picture and television for the 24th annual Critics’ Choice Awards given out by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association.  The kudofest will be held on January 13th on the CW airing at 7PMET/PT.

Leading the pack in the TV field was the final season of The Americans and limited series Escape at Dannemora and The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story with five nominations.

This Is Us as with the Golden Globes did not come up with a Drama Series nod, however at the Critics’ Choice Awards two if its stars:  Milo Ventimiglia and Justin Hartley were nominated.

For Hartley, the former Y&R star received an nod in the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category,  While Ventimigilia, who plays Justin’s on-screen dad, is vying the Lead Actor Drama category.

Judith Light, the former two-time Daytime Emmy winner from One Life to Live, received a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series Or Motion Picture Made For Television category for her performance in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

While yet, another former daytime, Finn Wittrock (Ex-All My Children) in the Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made For Television category also for “Versace”.
