Mark Lawson Shares Heartfelt Sentiments As He Exits General Hospital

Photo: ABC

General Hospital fans knew Monday’s episode would bring with it who might have survived the explosion at the Floating Rib, and who might still be in peril or who did not make out.

This afternoon as viewers were learning the fate of several characters including Dustin, who was proposing to Lulu (Emme Rylan) as the bomb went off, his portrayer, Mark Lawson took to his Instagram to announce his exit from the series.

Mark expressed: “Actors know this moment is bittersweet.  Job well done, but leaving a set full of like-minded, inspired people. Playing Dustin was a joy. Every day on set was a gift, as were: Emme Rylan, Kirsten Storms, Brian Lane, Dominic Zamprogna, Lisa LoCicero, Maurice Benard, Bradford Anderson (And others that don’t have social media!) Thank you General Hospital. Honored to be part of television history not only on this show, but to be among the first actors back to work in town post-Covid. The set always felt safe, and I was proud to be in front of the camera in such a strange time  Thank you for everything.  Stay soapy.”

Check out Mark’s post below.

So, are you sad that Dustin is no longer on the canvas in Port Charles? Will you miss Mark in the role? Comment below.

Dustin never popped for me as a character. I much prefer Lulu with Dante, and now that he’s back and Dustin is dead, hopefully a reunion us on the horizon. Plus, GH needed to trim the fat with its excess characters. I wouldn’t have minded to see Brando and Gladys kick the bucket either. The sad part is losing Mark Lawson, who’s a great actor. I hope B&B snatches him up as a recast Rick.

I like the idea of a Rick recast, though unfortunately, Maya is no longer on B and B. Another idea is a recast of Daniel on Y and R. I’m so tired of the Nick and Phyllis rerun storyline, and Summer would benefit from having her older brother back, which would allow for a Daisy and/or Heather return, too. Seeing the older episodes during the beginning of the pandemic reminded me how Daniel was such a prominent role. He could interact with Lily and Mariah as well.

I’m sorry to see him go. I thought it was a great “get” for GH to have mark in their cast. Why is it that GH just cannot write love triangles??? They had a wonderfully set up triangle with Jason, Sam and Drew and they killed Drew off before any of that played out. And then Dante returned and they could have had a great run with him, Lulu and Dustin. I don’t get it. Where’s the rooting value going? They place two characters together and “tell” us who to root for instead of introducing the tried-and-true soap staple of… Read more »

Dustin’s death scene with Dante, and his “death eyes” looking up from his bed, was gruesome. And then Lulu crying hysterically when she found out Dustin was dead. That was some good acting by all. Congrats. Good luck, Mark Lawson–we barely knew ‘ya.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Peter’s On Ice, But Is He “Dead” Dead?

Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital provided more to the back-story of what Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) did with Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) body after Finn tussled with the guy and Peter fell down the stairwell and hitting his head on the wall, to his supposed death.

In story, Liz became worried when thinking back to how she suggested to Finn – and that they carried out –  putting Peter’s body in a freezer in the sub-basement of the hospital.

As she recalls their plot (to keep Peter’s body from being discovered until they have time to move him permanently), Anna  (Finola Hughes) is on the move of the hospital and uncovers a hidden service elevator that might just take her to the sub-basement, where she could discover Peter’s lifeless body.

But hold the phone! While we know it was revealed that Wes Ramsey departed GH, could it be that Anna could discover the freezer with no sign of Peter in it? Do you really think his reign of terror is over given that he is Cesar Faison’s bio-son?

Share your thoughts: Do you think Peter is really dead, or will the character come back to haunt everyone and try to get revenge on all who tried to stand in his way of Maxie and his child? Comment below.
