Over the last 36 hours pop culture mainstream media has a been abuzz with the New York City sighting of six of the stars of the original soapy Melrose Place.

One of the photos making the rounds was from Daphne Zuniga’s Instagram account featuring  her and her former MP co-stars: Doug Savant, Laura Leighton, Andrew Shue, Courtney-Thorne Smith and Josie Bissett.  That picture was taken at the Polo Bar.  The other – the main image in this post – was by Laura Leighton via her Instagram,.

Daphne tagged her photo with: “Ran into some friends in New York! melroseplace #nyc #friends4ever.”

The group were all in town to tape an upcoming interview piece that will air in December on Good Morning America’s third hour, Strahan, Sara and Keke.

In addition, and as many know, former Melrose Place star, Andrew Shue is married to ABC 20/20 co-anchor Amy Robach,  and she posted her own little ditty on Instagram below with the group.

Melrose Place ran for seven seasons from 1992-1999.  An attempt at a reboot on the CW tanked from 2009-2010.  There has never yet been a reboot featuring the original stars of the series.

Honesty, I’d be all for a reboot/revival of MP! To be quite honest I don’t think The CW gave their version a chance. I may be in the minority here, but I think it was far more worthy than most!

Dancing with the Stars

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews Exit ‘Dancing with the Stars’

The ballroom dance-competition will look quite different when season 29 of Dancing with the Stars makes its return on ABC.

Longtime host of the series Tom Bergeron (he has been with the show since 2005) and sidekick and co-host Erin Andrews are not returning to the series.  Andrews joined as co-host in 2014 and was a previous contestant.

On Monday, Bergeron got ahead of the news addressing his departure on his Twitter account sharing: “Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”

On Tuesday, Andrews  put out a statement sharing:  “Thank you ABC and the entire Dancing with the Stars family for 6 memorable seasons.  Those years wouldn’t have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges. I will always cherish my days on that set, even if I wasn’t the best at walking in heels.”

In a joint statement from ABC and producer BBC Studios, they thanked the duo: “Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success. Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom. Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show.”

Just how the dance-reality competition series will look comes this fall in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic remains to be seen.

So, what do you think of the departures of Bergeron and Andrews? Who do you think will be named hosts of the series for its upcoming season? Comment below.
