With the return of Kyle Abbott’s biological mother, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) to the canvas, looks like The Young and the Restless has a big story planned, and now comes words that popular actor Michael Mealor will also be returning to the top-rated soap opera as Diane and Jack’s (Peter Bergman) son.

According to a report in the latest Soap Opera Digest, Mealor is returning to the role and will be back on contract.

Skyle fans were upset recently when both Mealor and Hunter King (Summer) were written off the show and since then had made a few recurring appearances.

Viewers last saw Mealor and King during Victoria and Ashland’s nuptials in 2021.

No word yet on when Michael will first air under his new contract with the CBS daytime drama series.

So, excited to know Kyle will be back as played by Mealor? Let us know in the comment section below.

YEAH!!! Welcome back!

Yayyyyy!
Love Michael Mealor as Kyle, very missed. He really is a young future leading man.
I ‘d love for him to become buddies with the new Noah. My dream would be for Summer to stay in Milan with Marchetti and for Lola to return from Miami and the two to rekindle the romance which was so pure and innocent! If the original can’t come back because she’s made it big in movies recast her.
Can’t wait for Michael and Susan Walters to mix it up , she’s my favorite Diane.

Loved Kola! They have a star in the universe. Would enjoy seeing the Rosales family return. And if Y and R insists on keeping Phyllis, then bring back Avery and Daniel (and his child), etc. No need for any new characters. Develop the GC residents that already exist.

“…Loved Kola! They have a star in the universe. …” so beautiful

Loved Avery, such a good actress! I think Avery and Adam would be interesting. Especially given she s Phyllis’s sister she could easily mix it up with Nick, Sharon and cause a stir. Instead fit Sally in with Noah. Mariah and Tessa can get married, adopt a kid and ride off into the sunset.

Damien, I love your idea about Kyle and Noah. This show is sorely in need of a bromance. GH has several: Drew & Curtis, Jason & Spinelli, Jason & Sonny, Brando & T.J. since they reconciled. Mature male friendships are always welcome. Especially when both are nice people and drop dead gorgeous.

Exactly: ^^^ “… He really is a young future leading man ” i remember the day when that torch, ala jack Abbott and Victor newman, once upon a time : coulda woulda shoulda , passed the torch on to : just the most sterling twosome couple’ Amelia Heinle and Billy Miller , OH GOD! was this divine stuff ! Victoria and Billy . thru the ROOF , just drove. AND without doubt, along side with; Michael Muhney and the oh so lovely Sharon Case. Adam and Sharon… OOH LA LA the heart beat for every thing these two couple. DREAM a little DREAM. oh my heart loved Y&R. any way –

it’s fitting to see this young man… who is so “right on” not wanting to gush AND laud too much… ” I LOVE HIM ” to pieces !!!! his Abbott catch, run on all cylinder . Jack Abbott SON… now this was key and so missing. for this reason.. he’s a key element to the Abbott family tree… would John Sr. beam, right along.. as dad can rest his laurel’ FAMILY COMPLETE … like a post shared… FOR MS. TRACI… i’d distend belief… just to give her a child of her own… and living in Genoa City… do Traci and Ashley NEED romance… SURE , if they were living in Genoa… a post shared… Eileen Davidson AND Robert Newman… WOWSAH YIKES and STERLING gotcha. any way… heart thump for Kyle
Abbott reign some thing

Great news! Someone young and restless on the show, lol.

FUN’ny – you have no idea how true that is !!!! he’s a smolder, heart race, AND your eyes keep up. YES !

Yes! So glad he’s back. Terrific actor and so great to look at as well. Looking forward to this!

Smart move he’s the one and only Kyle

I think this is good news, but no Summer or Harrison? The show needs Kyle. While it is good to see the Abbott family revived, I am again incensed for all the boneheaded decisions made in the oughts… Tracie losing her daughter. Brad’s death. Diane’s now supposed (WTF? Is thIs this General Hospital or Days of Our Lives?) death. No connection to Keemo until now after his death. (Really?) Am happy Abby has a child that is biologically hers. I’d like to see Ashley and/or Tracie have a romance. The actors on this show are strong. Might we craft stories as strong? Am tired of the misfires… Amanda’s family, Ashland Locke, the Rosales family, Chelsea fak g paralysis… Here’s hoping!

Ashley and Ashland could very easily be a great screen couple ultimately, but the major problem is that both of their names begin with Ash.

Ashland needs to go.

So right, lakovos. This Diane resurrected tale is, for me, the worst of the admittedly bad stories you mentioned. Who cares about these people? Still no Kevin, Gloria, minimal Traci, Jill, Ashley, and Lauren; Noah made a good start and is already in stasis; Devon is on air nearly every day and in too many stories; Billy’s “soul bearing” pseudo new-age drivel is worse than most junior high school poetry; Victoria took way too long to accept the Ashland reveal. Now we’re gonna be treated to Rey and Chelsea — will it be Chey or Relsea? Ugh! 2022 isn’t looking too promising.

“ Soul bearing, pseudo, new- age drivel”? I LOVE it! Billy engages in constant navel gazing and seems to think his obsession with his own navel is as exciting for everyone else as it is for him.

Harry
This crap with Billy has got to be the worst SL they’ve ever done. I record my shows so thank God for FF. I almost feel sorry for him, not Billy but the actor.

Chelsea was written to such lows, I cannot accept any redemption. Let her go. Rey is a good character but there is nothing for him to do. Sadly, the botched Rosales family integration left the character with nothing.

Wallah… Rey and Chelsea… i saw a photo shoot of this winsome twosome together extraordinaire … SHOOT

Patrick
They kind of deserve each other, don’t they? Maybe Chelsea will light a fire under Rey, igniting something he didn’t know was there, thanks to Sharon, who seems like a dud.I think Adam was the only one that could light her fuse!

I got a little too endearing… I saw pics of them together… and thought… THIS COULD WORK… because I like Rey… just because he stunk with Sharon… don’t let Rey take ALL the blame. Now we have , from out of nowhere… !!!! whodathunk? Adam actually looks sexy masculine with Sally ? She’s a phenom in the making… I love how her ex-cast member (Jacob young ), touts her… they (B&B) NEVER gave her the time of day… so here she is… even I like her… VA VA VOOM… move over Phyllis… Sally has arrived

I was looking forward to Rey and Chelsea! What a good looking couple!
Figures?

I am very happy to hear that…good luck..I really missed you and Summer, wished she would come back as well, they made such a wonderful couple….

You really need to bring Summer back or at least have her on screen again from Milan.

Glad he’s coming back, but what about Summer and Harrison? Would love to see some scenes with Kyle blasting Ashland for lying about the cancer and him telling Harrison he was sick.

So excited for this new story line!

I’m looking for a recast of Summer- it needs to happen.
I doubt Hunter will return..
and the Keemo guy, I as many, have no nothing as to him..
It would be nice to have some flashbacks to see who he was.
So- Jack has his old ex back- is she his age?
it would be good to see Jack with a woman his age=65-70?
Anyways- something tells me this story will be a sleeper.
Anything involving the snore Jack will be a snore — lol

So glad Michael Mealor will be back in G.C as Kyle. I can’t wait to see who will be playing new Summer. A new wife and mother all in one shot. How lucky can one guy be?

I don’t like Michael mealos character on y&r he’s a jerk

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

Maura West and Kelly Sullivan

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.

The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.

Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST

Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”

Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”

Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL

Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”

You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.

So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!

Steve Burton Reportedly Signs Three-Year Contract with ‘General Hospital’

Steve Burton

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.

TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.

That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

STEVE’S HIATUS AND HIS RETURN TO PORT CHARLES

GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.

Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).

Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.

GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS

Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.

Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.

Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.

So, happy to hear that Steve Burton signed a new three year deal with General Hospital? Knowing that, what storyline would you like to see Jason get involved and with who? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

CAKE FIGHTS AND CORPORATE INTRIGUE

“In her refreshingly candid style, Jess shares her journey as a young actress from Toronto theaters to Los Angeles, where she found herself at the center of a Laurel Canyon circle that included the likes of Neil Young, David Geffen, Laura Nyro, and Joni Mitchell. Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Walton became the fourth actress to take on the role of Katherine Chancellor’s original nemesis Jill Foster back in 1987. The OG Jill was played by Brenda Dickson, also Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon and Melinda O. Fee played the part.

This year, Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) filled-in for several episodes for Walton who was unavailable to travel from her home in Oregon to Los Angeles where Y&R was taped. Walton is still with the long-running soap opera as Jill.
