Oh, how my mom and I both adored Michael Zaslow. The first really sexy (though not traditionally ‘soap’ handsome) bad boy. I’ll never forget the episode when he assaulted Rita Stapleton with that ominous, “You owe me. And I’m collecting.” We figured that was the end for Roger; you don’t come back from rape. But…they softened Rita’s response later on, as I recall, and Roger got the second of many chances. A memorable character from a gifted, unique actor. We even went to his theatrical movie, the dreadful “YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE”. Now that’s dedication!

Not only is it awesome that Alan Locher is having a Michael Zaslow tribute, but getting Sherry Stringfield in on it is blowing my mind! She has always been a favorite of mine as Blake Thorpe. She played the female version of her daddy, Roger! And adding Kimberley Simms to the mix? I’m going to faint! Her Mindy with Roger had crazy, sexy chemistry. They were HOT as the older businessman and young blonde bombshell!

Fiona Hutchinson and Maureen Garrett on it also? Perfection!!!!

The Guiding Light made many mistakes with some decisions that it made regarding the show : one is killing off Maureen Bauer’s character and the second is the disrespect it showed Michael when he was diagnosed with ALS. That… Read more »
