Michelle Stafford Joins The Cast Of General Hospital!

If you have seen today’s episode of General Hospital, there is a big reveal at the end of it! And for those that haven’t, the news has broken by now!
None other than Daytime Emmy winner Michelle Stafford (Ex-Phyllis, Y&R) has indeed joined the cast of the ABC soap opera as had been rumored for months. She is playing the role of Nina Clay, the “presumed” dead wife of Silas Clay (Michael Easton)!
Daytime Confidential spoke with GH head writer, Ron Carlivati about the secret scene that was filmed to usher in Stafford’s new role! “GH has been on hiatus for the past two weeks and Michelle doesn’t really start taping until we resume. But we realized that as soon as she did, the news would be out there long before her episodes began airing. It was actually Frank’s idea to try to slip her into an earlier show that had already been written and shot, so we could take everyone by surprise. So he snuck her into the studio recently, at the end of the day, to tape the one scene you just saw. That was inserted after the fact. We’ve been sweating it out ever since that it would stay under wraps!”

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric
General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s GH Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned,
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where they were previously, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. And Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, “Well, so much for that!”
Fast-forward to 2025, and “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said we’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth, My internal monologue is going ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is. or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprongna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric and a big fan base with with Jason and you know you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is down 100% to play. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.:
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit and the buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other. and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect Ric, Sonny, Lulu? So, much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)
At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)
Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

I’m not big fan of GH but I do love michelle stafford. I think this is just another big rumor which has happened more than once with Michelle and GH. Back in February there was rumor Michael Munhey was going to GH.
she’s on GH as Nina. The previewed showed her waking up…Shocker. I had hoped she would be on Y & R but with “Ava” and now “Nina” they will be my favorites. Now if they could only get Michael I’d be over the top. All three are great actors…

I really try to avoid spoilers, and I was shocked to see Stafford. Well done, GH! To all those criticizing Carlivati for creating new characters, hey – at one time there was just Robert Scorpio all by himself. For years. Now, evidently, Robin is considered a “legacy” character. Then, Sonny & his crime family were the interlopers. Now, they are considered GH history. Every soap needs new blood to mix w/other families or else it gets old fast. Faison has been part of GH history for a while. I think its ingenious the way they’re mixing his daughter, Britta, to have connections w/Silas’ situation. Connecting everyone is what soaps have done for decades.
Fabulous for who? No one cares about Nina and this whole new concocted family that has been forced on to the canvas. And why would General Hospital fans care about an actress from Y&R?
On a day that TIIC totally destroy the beloved 30 yr legacy character of Robin Scorpio in service of the laughable Sabrina and their agenda to kill all that GH was, we get yet another newbie and it’s supposed to be a big deal. Why?
How about a story for Kristina Wagner? 30 year GH Vet, Stunningly beautiful Aztec Princess, married to a Scorpio with ties across the entire canvas and the mother of the very popular Maxie Jones? Nothing there, huh guys?
Let’s just keep overrunning the town with newbies and actors from other shows as we decimate GH core families and destroy veteran characters and their legacies.
Maybe some of those Emmy voters, in addition to being able to recognize quality or lack of it, are long time fans who don’t like watching their show being destroyed either.
Fabulous for gh since michelle is an intense talented actress and will squeeze every ounce of life out of this character. I am thrilled she is on gh and they are lucky to have her!

ITA…What kind of person takes a show that has lived with legacy and history for up to 50 yrs and pushes out all those families so that they can start NEW families? I don’t get it. I’ve watched GH for 50 yrs FOR those iconic families and characters. GH doesn’t need more new families and it certainly shouldn’t be NOT writing for GH characters that have been there a long time. It’s like watching the Empire State Building being torn down to build a HIGH RISE. It just shouldn’t happen..period. Someone allowed this nightmare and is continuing to allow it. Obviously, it isn’t someone who watched GH, knew GH or understood GH and it’s true fans.
Well said GH50! As a 35-year viewer I couldn’t agree more. I had such high hopes for Frank and Ron. There’s so little on GH that I care about right now.

GH50, I can’t say that I disagree with you regarding Silas Clay, his wife, and the prolonged mystery. I do like the addition of Donna Mills. I’ve always been a fan of hers, love Madeline’s scenes with Obrecht.

If I wanted to watch Michelle Stafford I would have turned on Y&R. I’m SO not interested in this story, NINA, Donna Mills 80’s style acting and bad pronunciation of words and more newbies hogging up the show. We have Kin Shriner, Kristina Wagner, Lynn Herring, Ian Buchanan; all these actors are on for a minute and have a much richer history with the show that I’d rather be watching!
Sam being so involved in Silas’ ex-wife is damn creepy anyway ….. be careful how involved you get Samantha because She’s Alive and you’re going to be left in the dust!!!

I really think it was GH intent all along…(just, like, Y&R)… like whole new casts
GH went the bait and hook and recall glory days with a few vets sprinkled here and their… and wallah… we should all have been enamored by now… all these new characters… with ties and connections
they are good actors… sans Nathan… at times
I wonder if he has naturally curly hair… wouldn’t that be a treat… he’s too perfect… his hair is too done up….. it would make his character relax… he is acting, in and around some fierce women

If you’ve really been watching GH for 30-some odd years, it should come as no surprise that they, like other soaps in the past, introduce new families and new storylines that intertwine them with other long time actors on the show. I just recently started watching GH following the characters I loved on OLTL (who have since been rebooted as other characters) and I love the way the writers are creating interesting stories that are keeping me hooked in. Not being a long-time viewer, I’ve had to do some catching up, but what’s happening is nothing new. Soaps do it all the time. I think this will be for the better of GH if you hang in there and watch.
MS looks related to Lynn Herring. They could play sisters. Well, GH didn’t need to add MS to their cast. You’re right–why not better use who they have had. I imagine MS is acting very sweet right now about being welcomed there, but in time she’ll take over and jokes will be made about the hands-flapping over-the-top look-at-me macho Phyllis II taking over GH just like Phyllis did Y&R. She’s always Phyllis. In her online show she is just more Phyllis. Let her try playing the part of someone sweet–I don’t see it lasting.
I thought Michelle Stafford went off Y&R to do her own thing..I love Michelle Stafford, but I am just wondering why..if she was coming back to the soaps, why she didn’t return as Phyllis on Y&R..?????? That is what I was hoping for!!!
Yes, I thought the same thing, if she really wanted to stay on with soaps, why not return to the Y&R ? I loved the stafford project but miss her terribly on the Y&R along with Adam and Billy 🙁
My bad. Soon after I commented on that it was a rumor I found our she was actually on GH. Great for GH and it’s fans. I’ve been in out viewer of the show. I am huge fan of Michelle. I’ve starting recording the show and hope I can get back with it.
No, not so great for GH fans… nothing against Michelle Stafford but I am sick to death of new characters coming on to GH. I am believing that Tony Geary is right, the writers DO get residuals for the characters they create for as long as the character is appearing in the show. Combined with the fact it is much easier for a writer to write a character from scratch than from history, it allows the writers to make a good living while ABC can cut even more costs out of the GH production budget. They certainly don’t care they’re ruining an iconic legacy.
I called this more then 6 months ago Phyllis went into a coma on Y&R and was going to wake up on GH as Nina!
So ironic isnt it…She’s leaves Y&R in a coma and wakes up from a coma on GH…lol
It made be ironic, but I suspect it was planned. All the rumors of her joining GH began just before her exit on Y&R must have been based in some reality and RC knew they had put Phyllis in a coma, so he wrote Nina being in coma to wake her up— a finger gesture to Y&R if you catch my drift. It could have been a coincidence, but it seems too perfect to be that– knowing RC he could have Nina say something like I had the strangest dream that I was fighting with some blonde lady and fell down some stairs– and then I woke up.
Bottom line MS was unhappy at Y&R she was not getting to dictate story so she walked! Steve Burton was no longer getting to dictate story over at GH he walked! Now hopefully they are working where they can call the shots neither one would be working for me if I was EP I call the shots actors read the lines that are written for them. Neither show as I can tell is suffering because they both chose to leave so good luck to them. Word to JFP leave Phyllis in the coma and move on! Sharon Case & Kristoff St. John have had horrible storylines for years and they took their lumps and went on and they get nothing but hate mail it is just a job no more no less! Rant over!

I knew she would not go back to Y&R, way too much drama behind scenes. IMO she did not like JFP! Now if Michael M would go to GH, I would try & watch.. never have watched GH..

Usually when a soap actor leaves a show to “pursue other career paths” or ” wants more time with their family” that is just code for ” I don’t like my boss- story line– hours–or wage” pick one, or all of those truths as the actual reason for the departure. However they cannot give the real reason because you don’t want to be labelled as difficult to work with or burn any bridges or create new obstacles for themselves. So I suspect your opinion is correct, she was finished with JFP not the soaps.

Had to reply here, Mary…you could be right about Phylis/Nina comas being more than a coincidence…and have Nina say she had a strange dream about some blonde woman pushing her(Sharon, Y&R) down a flight of stairs? That could be possible and Silas and others would think she was talking about Ava!!!
General Hospital has the same issue; I feel as though I watch the same scene over and over again, with Ava, Sonny, Carly, and Franco about AJ’s death and Sonny really being the one who murdered him, etc., etc., etc. Too many recurring characters, characters and storylines being dropped for weeks on end. It’s just too bad. It’s a hot mess right now with way too many new faces with no real connection to Port Charles.
As much as I love Michelle, and wish her the best, her exit once again proves the show does go on. Not one actor makes a show. Y&R has been on FIRE lately, yes I wish Michelle would have returned to Genoa City, but she is not missed. General Hospital hopefully will give her good material. Look at what happened to the return of Ryan Carnes. Creatively, Ryan must be bored out of his mind, and re-thinking his decision.
Same. While I would’ve loved her to return to Y&R, which is on fire, she obviously felt she wanted to spread her wings elsewhere. Guess that means that a recast on Phyllis can finally happen in the future. And Ron’s writing is inconsistent and wishy-washy at best, hence their failure to secure a nomination as a show.
No kidding. No disrespect to Michelle Stafford, but the LAST thing GH needs is another soap’s star to join the already bloated cast. RC and FV are so desperate to try anything to get more viewers for GH (thus the never-ending effort to bring in big names from other soaps) yet the writing is all over the map and never encompasses any depth, or character development, or reality. And why is it that they have all sorts of money for new actors but they can’t seem to strike a deal to bring back Genie Francis?
I’m a longtime Y&R fan and also watch GH, but have to admit that I am somewhat relieved that she will be on GH and not Y&R. I think Y&R is much more balanced now, whereas when MS was on, Phyllis was involved in almost every storyline. Hopefully Nina won’t consume GH in the same way.

Silas and Sam are very boring. Sam-lose the monotone, black jeans, white t-shirt, and black boots. I don’t find anything about the couple appealing. Very boring.
This is good news–bad news— It is great she’s is back on daytime and has what promises to be an interesting role. The bad news is the cast is so large already that many deserving actors are not getting the air time and attention they deserve, so another new character is not going to help that. Looking forward to see her play someone other than Phyllis, but not sure long time viewers will find all these new faces a welcome sight, no matter how talented they may be.

The music played during the Scene where Silas was reminiscing about Nina was the same as when John and Natalie recited their vows at their wedding interrupted by Marty. In agreement was hoping for MA.

I totally agree! GH doesn’t seem to waste the talent they have. They let the actors do what they are best at, aside from maybe the guy who played AJ that was upset that his character’s main focus was swindling Tracy out of the relish recipe. Lol. But they’ve made enough room for Carly’s big personality, Ava’s, and hopefully Nina’s now. I wouldn’t want to see MS playing some “shrinking violet”. Ugh. I’m so disgusted with Y&R right now. It’s my soap, but TPTB totally deserve this. Unfortunately the fans don’t. GH’s gain though.
depends on why you watch soaps. I watch for Love, Romance, Relationships, Core Famiies. NOT mob drama, or to watch divas chewing the scenery. GH was at its best last year when it was bringing back characters we loved like Robert and Robin Scorpio and Frisco Jones. When I turn GH on (occasionally now) I don’t even recognize anybody.
And every other actress in their age range will be collateral damage. If we didn’t have so many new characters I would applaud this hire. But for this viewer: more newbie overload. I am kind of past the point of caring about GH anymore, so I don’t even know why I bothered to post.

Kudos in pulling off this major surprise!!! I actually find Michelle Stafford, Maura West and Laura Wright to all be very similar in character (strong, powerful women, who want everything their way or no way), and it will be interesting to watch them all “duke it out” on GH !!!! Great show, great storylines, and a very strong cast indeed!!!

Unfortunately I have to agree. I didn’t like the way she played her role on Y&R and I have serious doubts that she will be able to play any role that is not written exactly as the role she played there. If GH makes this a remake of the Phyllis character I for one will not like it and I have serious doubts that Michelle Stafford would be able to play any other type role. I have really been enjoying GH for the past year and I am very apprehensive about this move being a good one for the show.
Michelle Stafford was the sole reason to watch Y&R for the last decade.
No one actor or actress makes a soap Y&R is still #1 it has and always will be an ensemble act when you start thinking otherwise is when you get into trouble.
I stand by my statement. That show has been a mess for over a decade and Stafford’s performances were the only reason I kept tuning in (’cause heaven knows it wasn’t the story).
Michelle has been off the show for months and her character is still on the front burner.

Love them or hate them, Frank Valentini, Ron Carlivati and the OLTL cast re-invigorated this show and gave it what it needed to continue and thrive.

No bringing back vets is what brought people back. Now that we see it was bait and switch, we’re leaving. Good luck and congrats on all the Emmy snubs. The show is horrible. Fans know it and people in the industry know it’s a joke. Here’s just another stunt. How about trying to write and produce a quality show and draw viewers with that, not trying to bring in some unwitting fools who might follow an actress and then realize when they get here what mess they’ve gotten themselves into.
Watch the ratings continue to drop in the months ahead. For every person they might bring in with stunts, they will lose just as many who are fed up.

Hats off to Patrick Thompson who deserves the nomination…it will be a challenge however as Billy Miller was nominated as well. Too bad Michael Muhney had no hat in the ring. No matter what happened and how it happened, he was/ is a wonderful actor who may need to work on himself for a while and hopefully come back with a roar!
I’m thrilled it’s definite that she won’t be back at Y&R. I’ve always found her to be plastic and over-the-top and too old-looking for the men she’s involved with (including Michael Easton if her new character should get back together with him) and could never see how we were to turn a blind eye (it wasn’t like watching an older opera singer from a distance as she played the role of someone younger). All that stuff (still said over and over again by her fans at the YR forum) about how she had so many more important things to do with her life sure didn’t last–of course she wanted and needed a real job again, and here she is back to the soap life where she could one. I pray it’s not true that Michael Muhney is going to GH. I was all set to start watching if he did head there, but I’d forgo so as to avoid having to put up with the flappy pink banshee again.
The GH cast is so big already, I am glad an actress of her caliber on there. I hope her and Ava share scenes, let the fireworks begin!! I wish they would used this opportunity to cast her as Skye Quartermaine instead and rejuvenated that family. Uggh! Now that she def isn’t returning to Genoa City, time to cast Jamie Luner( ex-Liza, AMC, ex-Lexi, MP) as Phyllis, she would be dynamite!!!!!!

I don’t think the role is stupid; I buy him as Silas. But physically he looks as if he’s lost a lot of weight. I love thin, sinewy bodies but he is looking way too thin and scraggly these days. Don’t get me wrong…I’m a big fan of Michael Easton and I get the impression he’s a great guy. I just can’t help but notice the change in his appearance.
I agree with Andrea,. Easton was made for the role of McBain. AlI I see him do now is walk around GH in his street clothes. When remembered and convenient he is an oncologist. Sorry not working for me and I really enjoy the actor. I agree his appearance has changed as well.

I would have rather seen them hire Melissa Archer as Silas’ ex-wife, she and Michael Easton already have established chemistry from OLTL! When he said Nina was a redhead, I was hoping it would be MA. That would have definitely made me tune in. As it is, there is not one storyline or couple that interests me on GH right now (unless you count Patrick and “phone Robin”)

To hear Carlivati talk, he thinks viewers are positively salivating about the arrival of Nina…and waiting with bated breath for the ultimate bitchfest between Ava and Nina. As I said before…yawn!!! We have seen Ava bitchfest with just about every female on the show already. As Shanna Twain would say..”That don’t impress me much.”

If he had any plan on fulfilling his origin promise to rebuild the Q’s he had a prime opportunity in hiring Stafford as a recast Skye, and having her and AJ take over ELQ. That would have been something more approaching epic.

Ned popped in for visits. There were no attempts made to recast Dylan or Brook Lynn. Jimmy Lee Holt is out there at large and could have any number of fun children or grand children kicking around. There are no excuses other than Ron thinks his new grotesque creations are better. And about the Chandler’s, there were never only one or two on screen at any time, even during the rebolt, and they were not systematically and gruesomely murdered one by one. The ones who left left town but usually still returned for visits. And the Chancellor’s were never what one would call a core family, as it consisted mainly of Katherine. The actress passed away. So no….what started as a bloodbath under the Phelps Guza regime has continued ad nauseam under Cartini. I don’t know which soap families you are referring to that just happen to die off. Name one other family (popular core family) in soap history who in the span of ten years had so many characters be killed off…NOT by the actors choice. And name one other long running soap character who has been treated so cruelly and viciously by the writers as Monica Q. To have a woman lose all four of his children to brutal murders…three which are directly traceable to Sonny Corinthos…is just sick, twisted, and disgusting.

The character of Skye was created on AMC.So there might be a question of whether GH can use the character or not.As for RC maybe he did have plans to rebuild the Quartermaines but things changed.I love the Qs too but they may have taken over from another family when they first appeared and now it’s happening to them in a way.
