According to Soap Opera Digest, Daytime Emmy winner Michelle Stafford is scheduled to make her second on-air appearance in her new role as Nina Clay on that date.   And as fans know, the last time we saw Ms. Stafford was back on May 1st when at the end of the episode, Stafford as Nina Clay revealed herself to have joined GH!

So the question for GH viewers is; when Nina wakes up, and as portrayed by Michelle Stafford known for her work to daytime audiences as Phyllis on Y&R, what type of character will she be?  Villainess?  Good girl?  Bad girl with a heart?  Weigh-in!

I can’t wait for Michelle Stafford to start airing regularly on GH.However i’m wondering where we will see Nina next and who she interacts with first.Plus Nina may know Silas is in Port Charles but not he’s involved in someone. So Nina could think she’ll just show up in town and then she and Silas will reunite. However she might be in for a rude awakening.Plus if she sees Silas with Danny she might mistakenly assume he’s Silas’s son.

Nina must know he is in PC if she’s the one who sent those flowers unless her mother sent them to start trouble? Just wondering…i like this storyline so far!!!

I dont know, Madeline did everything to keep Silas from Nina.

I’m sure Nina is the one who sent Silas the flowers but she may not know yet that he’s in a relationship with Sam.So Nina might be thinking that Silas has been waiting for her all these years to wake up but she may not yet know what her mom did to keep Silas away from her or even that she tried to frame him.

Im more wondering how Nina found out where Silas is…im sure her mother wouldnt tell her and made certain those taking care of her wouldnt say anything…unless Nina used inheritance money to hire a private investigator…and why wouldnt she just go to PC if she still loves him…hope we get answers soon!!!

Nina may have used the internet to find out where Silas is living and working now.So that could explain how Nina knew to send the flowers to General Hospital. As for why Nina hasn’t gone to Port Charles yet maybe she’s not healthy enough yet and wants to be 100% for when Silas sees her again.Plus she may have other things to deal with first.I also hope we get some answers involving Nina quickly too.Plus i still don’t think it was a coincidence that she was in the same hospital that Victor took Robin to.If Victor knew Dr.Obrecht in the past maybe he also knew her sister Madeline.

I don’t think any thing… or one… can come between Silas and Sam. they just click
perhaps it’s that dark hair his blue eyes her dark eyes… tantalizing features

I don’t think they’re exciting….. just a clear bond that , started @Port Charles… and here they are once again…. full circle, that still works…. @GH

I don’t see MS’ Nina…. wanting Silas back…. exact some revenge for 20+ years lost… especially if there was a child involved…. even IF, she SHOULD blame Madeliene.

currently, I don’t see a man who is able…. LOL…. to meet Michelle Stafford… on the canvas… i’ve already posted Franco…. Julian and Nina would sizzle with through the roof sexuality… (fans are right now…. happy that Alexis is getting something). I forgot about Patrick…. (if the child dies) and he’s willing to player and MOVE and venture in to long forgotten Dr. Drake of ole. a new beginning.

I still think.. they should rehire… Brandon Barash… and or Ingo Rademacher….

Johnny and Jax.

after yesterdays ep : Jim H… does it seem like Ava is done? now that Carly and Franco know… “she” killed Connie? is this paving the way for MS to move in… and Maura West’ Ava is now on the way out? seems like it to me… why would Carly and Franco keep this quiet.

I think the GH production… will let Ava go… seeing as two powerhouse women… vying for so little.. is a bit much…. cause they just can’t seem to let go of Carly and Franco…to this day… I still think they’ve been written in to a corner

wanted to add : now that Julian made his big speech to his family that he’s now legit and out of the “business”…. another reason that ava is expendable? I certainly want her…. why would any one on the canvas save her now?

Ava could be pregnant with Sonnys child…also i think Nina and Sonny will eventually hook up!!!

IMAGINE : if Carly and Franco left Port Charles for Hollywood

and wham bam… thank you sam… GH production

HIRE ! ex’s Johnny and Jax to mega watt amp up EVERYTHING

Thanks for your latest reply Andrew…i was thinking that too about Nina…maybe not well enough to travel…also thanks for reminding me about the part about Nina in the hospital where Victor took Robin…i still think Nathans Victors son with Dr.O but he also might have slept with Madeline too making Nina also a Cassidine…just a thought!!!

She’ll be bad…like most of GHs characters…lol…some dont like this storyline from some posts ive read but im enjoying it…it kind of reminds me of the mystery stories i enjoyed on Edge Of Night…still liked M.E. as John Mcbain better and they couldve still down the same storyline…yeah, i know why he has to play Silas…anyway im looking forward to seeing this story unfold…its GHs most interesting current storyline…imo!!!

I liked Spin and Ellie’s brief return…its nice to see them…and it was a much welcome suprise…like in the old days without spoilers that ruin the supsense!!!

so very true !! it was a very nice surpirse.

me too, I have enjoyed this couple allot. I wish they both can return permanently!

I agree, jimh. GH is really great about pulling off these surprises.

Hey jimh…

I agree. Though I love Michael Easton, and I’m glad he’s on GH (and hope he stays) I too liked his John McBain better. Don’t know why that is…LOL…as a matter of fact I can say that about all three…Todd vs Franco, Starr vs Kiki and John vs.Silas. Maybe it’s because in a sense they’re not playing characters THAT different then they were before…so somehow it doesn’t seem authentic. Dunno.

And though I didn’t finish watching yesterday’s episode yet I did see Spinelli. Would be nice if he were back on the canvas though I know he has no plans to do so.

And yes, it is fun to not have spoilers…(thought I always look!) 😉 but I knew as soon as Carly said she knew someone who could crack AJ’s phone that she’d be going to Spinelli…so I wasn’t surprised.

I love the interaction between Ellie and Franco.Roger and Emily work well together.

rebecca1…i didnt pay close attention to what Carly said( i get so many home distractions…my life is a soap…lol) otherwise i might have figured that out about Spin but im glad i didnt because id rather be suprised…Like M.E. as John better because he was more interesting as a dark brooding cop which he is better suited at playin than as a doc…jmo!!!

Tim, i agree with you…Franco and Ellie did have great interaction scenes together…im not much of a Carly/Franco fan but they did work better together in those scenes with Spinneli and Ellie…now if Carly/Franco could be written and have that same chemistry with other characters on the show i might change my opinion about them for the better!!!

I thought baby Georgia looked like pebbles from the flinstones.

I was more happy and interested in seeing Ellie… and she still that draw… with me in any case.

I agree, McBain could have been a PC cop under a different name. They need help with officers like Dumbnte and James “The Wooden Soldier” solving crimes!

Funny names…lol…maybe next year Mac can use a wooden Nathan in his act now that his wooden puppet has been destroyed…you think Epiphany could get arrested for destruction of someone elses property!!!

i see her as a bad girl with a heart, can’t wait to see her interact with Maura West, that will be epic. hope she gets intergrated with other characters, like Anna’s Finola Hughes, since they are friends in real life, and well, she needs a strong leading men, sorry but Silas doesn’t make any sense with her, but maybe i’ll be surprise, if the story is done right . if Madeline was Monicas sister that would of been a better fit then putting her with what has now turned into a cartoon character DR.O.

I also can’t wait for Maura and Michelle to be in scenes together on GH.I think they worked together on Y&R but i think that was a disaster. So this could be very different than that.As for romantic possibilities for Nina she may want Silas back but that doesn’t mean the show won’t test her with other male characters on the show for the future. So besides Silas there’s Sonny,Julian,Ric,Patrick and others for Nina.

When it was announced Donna M. was joining the show i wrote that i was hoping Madeline and Monica would be sisters…maybe faternal twins…Donna and Leslie C. had played sisters on daytimes Love Is A Many Splendored Thing and i thought it would be great seeing them act together again…since Monica was in an orphanage i still hope they could still be sisters…Maybe Maddie and Monicas mother kept one daughter Maddie and put Monica up for adoption because she was a single mom and couldnt afford to raise both girls…several years later their mother met and married Dr.Os father and had her…making Dr.O and Maddie half sisters…maybe Maddie will need medical treatments that will involve Monica and thats when theyll learn they are sisters…also i like to think maybe Monicas old boyfriend was Maddies husband James Reeves giving them another connection…when they played sisters on that other soap they were in a love triangle involving the same man and so my idea having had them involved with James would make this a great nod to their past roles together on LIAMST!!!(i am a fan of KG(Dr.O) but i do wish theyd write her less cartoonish and violent…she is such a great talent…

Michelle needs someone stronger than Silas. Maybe Patrick?

this would be the best time… to give Jason Thompson… some fresh, new, meaty, material… to bring back his person… his personality… and steer away from… scrubs….

I don’t see a lot of strong personalities to configure with, Michelle Stafford.

If Nina suffers side effects from being a coma for 20 years maybe Patrick treats her because he’s neurosurgeon.then slowly they could become friends and then maybe something romantic develops between them over time. However right now romance might be the farthest thing from Patrick’s mind.

She’s a great actress, so I’m looking forward to seeing how she does on GH. Should be fun when her and Maura West get to work together. Talk about two daytime heavyweights going toe to toe.

I’m looking forward to this too, they were great sparring partners on Y&R when Michelle played Phyllis and Maura played Diane, so this should be epic!

I didn’t like her as Phyllis and am not looking forward to seeing her on GH. Too many characters with too little time to fully invest in any of them.

I don’t care if Nina is good, bad or somewhere in the middle, as long as MS plays her differently than Phyllis– if I see Phyllis on the screen I am going to scream are you kidding me, are you kidding me, are you kidding me. ( Y&R fans know what that means)

Why would you expect that Mary RH three different characters all the same Maura West three different characters all the same. Just clear the building if they have Lucy Coe, Ava and Nina in the same scene. Over/acting at it’s finest! Less is more always has been always will be.

As long as Maura West stays Michelle’s addition will be Epic. Wonder if KKi is really Nina’s daughter with Silas?

I pray to God Kiki isnt connected to Nina. I hate the character of Kiki. The name, her off screen boyfriend, and her acting! Every scene she is in she has that look on her face like she walked into the GH communal shower and just saw Steve Hardy naked! Kiki, RIP!

Oye!

high 5

I’m so over… what the fascination is:

with KA’ Kiki
with CD’ Michael

together as a couple… is doubly dull

I can’t even go their…. with Michael and Kiki running ELQ

I always thought Kiki had a stuck up look on her face like some of the girls i went to high school with…i remember that look on many of them…lol

She a good actress so I am excited to see what her new role will bring. I have been really disappointed in the Nina Clay story line so far so I hope she’ll be able to bring something enduring to it. I like Madeline and Nathan but am having a really had time seeing Silas as the good guy in all this. I hope Michelle gets to interact with a lot of the cast.

Nina may want Silas back but he is also very much in love with Sam.

Michelle Stafford is a crown jewel and GH will love her. She will be bitchy like Phyllis but thats okay, Michelle plays that well. Y&R fans hated that Phyllis was always scheming and conniving her way in and out of peoples lives BUT these same fans are now kicking themselves because they are they same fans who bitch and moan that Phyllis is not on Y&R anymore and how could she ever sign with GH? Love it!

How long will it be before Sonny nails Nina Clay? Is anyone making book?

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
