Nancy Lee Grahn Kicks-Off Her 25th Year as General Hospital’s Alexis; Thanks Fans & Shares: “What a Ride”

Photo: ABC

She’s one of the best of the best!  And on Saturday, Nancy Lee Grahn acknowledged the start of her 25th year as Alexis Davis on ABC’s General Hospital.

Nancy, who daytime fans first loved on One Life to Live and then Santa Barbara, came to Port Charles and quickly became one of its leading mainstays.

On Twitter, marking the occasion, Nancy thanked her fans with this: “Wow! I start my 25th year on  @generalhospital  today. What a ride. It’s been one of my greatest pleasures to be connected to & supported by such a beautiful, loving, loyal #gh audience. We are and have always been in this together. I hope you can feel my most sincere virtual hug.”

Currently in story, Alexis just lost the new love of her life Neil and on Friday’s episode of GH, Alexis was blamed for his death by Neil’s brother when she tried to attend his memorial service.  Later, she landed at the Floating Rib with Valentin – but when he got into it with Ned and stepped outside, Alexis ordered a drink.  Not a good sign for this recovering alcoholic, and all this came on the heels of Alexis learning she has osteoporosis.

Through the years, story after story, beat after beat, we are lucky to have Nancy on our screens with her consistently riveting and honest performances.

What has been your favorite Alexis storyline through the years?  And … make sure to wish Nancy a ‘happy 25th’ via the comment section below.

I love Nancy Lee and her stories are usually interesting and inspiring. More women should have her talent, intelligence and integrity especially the ones that are so critical of her.

Violet…I agree with you. I just wish she could have some happiness and fun like when she first came to Port Charles. Loved her stories back then with Ned and Jax. But it seems the writers and/or her unconscious demons from the past won’t leave her alone these last few years. And losing her ability to practice law was way too harsh.

You are right on all counts.

Who was the greyish hair man talking to Alexis?…i think they should keep him…he and Alexis might work???

He’s Neil’s brother the man who lambasted her at the memorial service and said it was her fault His brother had died… It’s not a couple I’d prefer to see…

I like Dante’s doctor better. Hope he comes back with him. I think he and Alexis could be a good match.

I guess Iam replying to my own comment concerning Dante’s Dr I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing the other day as he professed his undying love to Dr O. Then she calls him a pig after he leaves the room? What was that about? I was hoping he would be coming home with Dante, but did not have a real idea in what capacity. I hope he will go after Peter even if it is to please his Liesel.

Happy 25th anniversary Nancy, love Alexis, and I liked her w/ Neil, to bad he was killed off, still Alexis will get through this, and find love again.

Congratulations

I just don’t see how any one… who’s a parent… can stomach this – she kowtows wilts AND is the lamest at doling out advice… save for; be a woman’ advocate. FINE ALL GOOD and WELL

w/Sam : how can she keep a straight face as Sam acts like the parent and not the other way around. I hate the way Sam treats Julian. perhaps it’s Alexis AWE how Sam wears skin tight form fitting leather spanks with stilleto. Sam is soooo driven, right?

w/Kristina : oh god… what an insult the debacle Kristina went over the cliff over Shiloh. so easily caught. she easily had it her way… with no guidance from Alexis at all.

w/Molly : how dare this child speak so willfully @. she gets on my every last nerve.

None of her daughters register !?!? Alexis black robe antics and penchant for lose wanton
self indulgent trifling behaviors have clearly caught up. I was OVER her with Julian.

this time around, with Neil. She had a let… pass go. What does @GH do… kill him off

UNLESS : why bring his brother back?

about the only real connect she has… is w/Diane

her alcoholism after her break up with Julian… landed her back on the playing field. God who doesn’t wish it was Melody Thomas Scott we witness

at last… a relationship … w/Neil landed her back on the playing field.

it always got wearying , at least when she was a lawyer… kvetching out her moral judgment, hence her black robe , fittings, at our expense.

SHE NEEDS to let up on Valentin… get back that family vibe.. she does it for Sonny

I liked for a long while.. how she was “able” to move on without Julian… god it was supposed to still be going on w/Kim.

FAN more alike than naught ; bought in to Alexis and Neil… yes i’m touting how smoldering it was simmer time… and BAM ! just like that snuffed out

I still remember, you, from Santa Barbara… emmied to boot. so you have left an impression… meh on the writing… especially with the overkill on your daughters… dag! give this hussied out to the gill A MAN A WHAT?

I always liked her with Ned.

johnny
I do too, but Iam afraid they will make a drunken mistake that they will both regret. As we know Soaps keep nothing hidden.

No one dislikes the actress she is always on top of her game! I can’t watch her because she can’t stop with the politics day and night she is at it! For gosh sakes can we not live in peace do you have to bring politics in sports soaps movies ?? Can’t you give us one bloody moment that we can breathe and enjoy the moment ?? That is my only gripe leave me alone let me enjoy one minute!

You’re right, Kay—Nancy is one skilled thespian. I just wish TPTB would give Alexis the life she deserves with the right guy, and makebit last with or without flaws. Instead of putting the character on the right track, they consistently lead her to the top of the proverbial precipice to then have her fall, one way or another. Enough with the drinking already. We’ve visited this scene too many times.. .. It has lost its luster!!

PS—I have learned to separate the actresses/actors from the characters. And, I do not ever read or listen to anyone who is ill-informed or uneducated in politics, who act all knowing and pretentious. Most Americans don’t even know their own history, thus, how can we expect them to know global history? —-so, my dear Kay, what’s the point?
Nonetheless, I understand your position.

What a ride, indeed. Alexis is one of those characters who is stuck in a vicious circle—-neither here nor there—-keeps going—one mistake after another—changes men as often as changing her nether-garments and always ends up in the same rut ( pardon the pun), the bottle. No end and no beginning. As boring as watching Martha Stewart (for me, at least).

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
