Nathan Owens Done At Days Of Our Lives!

Another one of the younger set is apparently also out at Days of our Lives!  After fans have learned that Chandler Massey (Ex-Will) and Casey Deidrick (Chad) have finished their run on the NBC soap (although Casey is still airing) and Camila Banus  (Gabi) is set to leave too, comes word from Soap Opera Digest that Nathan Owens is out as Cameron!

At Kate Mansi’s (Abigail, DAYS) birthday celebration this weekend, Nathan confirmed he has completed his run in the role, and that he will probably air on the soap till some time in November.   Owens took over the role of Cameron from Schuyler Yancy at Christmas time in 2012.  He  is currently on modeling assignments and auditioning for other acting opportunities!

So what are your thoughts on the departure of Owens? Will they recast? Who should be the love interest for Mansi’s Abigail if there is no Chad or Cameron on the canvas?  Comment below!

they should recast with either Corbin Bleu after he finishes DWTS , Cornelius Smith (ex Frankie, AMC) would be good too

wow… wouldn’t that be a coup for DOOL… to land… contract Corbin Bleu… would give him more press and exposure… to La La Land…

that would be so nice…

I think … if SOD awards were still around… he’d have been nominated best newcomer… along with… Britt… GH.
and for Jenn Lilly first role, all her own…. Theresa, DOOL.
and… Ellie, GH.

I would like to see Corbin in the role too. But what I really want to know is why such upheaval?

Both Camerons were boring. Give up on the character.

I wish they’d take some of the money that they’re not going to be paying to Chad, Gabi & Cam & give it to Peter Reckell so that we can have Bo back. Are you listening, Ken Corday?

Not sure it was only about money for Reckell..he also wanted more stories and some NEW material for these stories..Bo the hero who rescue Hope was played out after decades of that..he wanted something new !

Days needs to bring in few new male & Female Talents since there losing so many Actors Gabi,Chad ,Kristen, Bo,John,Owen, Please bring in new Love interest for Abby , there needs to be an age group for her immediately also I think Days you need to clean up these boring scripts & focus on some great stories plus Lucas on Back burner come on what about Hope story where the hell is Bo & What about Marlena story no John i can write better then your stories can’t you guys see theres no couples on Days at all look at your writing seriously ….Hope ,Marlena ,Brady ,they need a partner ….I’ve been a LoyalLong time Fan Favorite still …. & the stories are so stupid especially the Jennifer /Daniel bring in Peter Blake as a new actor back to get thing s rolling with this story . Now since Stefano holds all the cards bring in a New Family with strong Values to go head to head w/ The DiMera ‘s …… it’ll be great to see ….My Opinion also close the chapter on Bo bring someone new for Hope such Talent Actor & Actress are wasted come on Days !!!!!! where s Shawn D , Belle , Mimi Lockhart , Phillip etc

I agree with u except oh god no dont bring Peter Blake back For ANY reason. Big mistake the first go around.

With Kristen and Chad gone, Peter coming back would not be a bad idea imo..And a new villain family would be a great addition in order to create new storylines.

A new villain, yes. Peter Blake playing him, NO. There are personal reasons on the set why he WONT be coming back to Days!

That’s too bad I was just getting used to this guy being on canvas.

Yeah, that’s not quite the loss. Good looking guy, and maybe he had potential, but Cameron’s insta connection to Lexie was sloppily written at best, and they’ve never given him much to do since. I think I only really saw the potential in the character when Schyler played him. When Nathan took over, he was very bland and one note and the character stayed stunted. I never bought him as an intern in med school, and never ever felt his connection with any of the Carvers. Abby a little, but only because they’re really, really trying to cram it in.

I wish him the best, but it’s not a loss for DAYS. With him gone, it makes room for the characters and actors we would be more excited to see. I was just never excited to see Cameron.

The actor is beautiful but lacks some fire on screen..he needs to improve and then he can come back ! lol

NO do not recast Cameron…unless they can find someone good to play the role, but it does give us one less minority, so realistically they need to find more. RECAST Chad! I thought they were going to anyway…Abby and Chad are more interesting than Cameron and Abby anyway.

DOOL’s is still airing??

STAY AWAY FROM SOAP SITES IF YOU HATE SOAPS

Stay off my back you big Whack and get a real life!!! Learn how to read before you start handing out unwanted advice.

With Chad gone, it would make sense to *me* to recast Cameron. Otherwise, there isn’t much left for Abagail in the romance department. She’s pretty much related to 3/4 of the male characters on the show.

I thought his character was underused though. I guess with Lexie leaving right as he was introduced, there could have been kinks in the plan. But It seems like there needs to be more African American representation on the show. Remember Jonah Carver… we haven’t seen or even heard mention of him in YEARS. Abe supposedly has a sister but we have never seen her. And then there is his nephew that disappeared almost as quickly as he came. Back in the 80s you had Marcus Hunter. Maybe he has a son out there somewhere that will “land” in Salem.

Really hope that Kate Mansi isn’t headed out the door next. She’s a great asset to the show!

Casting some members of Abe’s family is a great idea, do it Dool ! This soap needs more african-american actors.

Maybe Abigail can fall in love with the much older Daniel…her own mothers boyfriend? in a kind of reworking of the popular 1970s triangle when Julies mother Addie was married to Doug whom Julie was in love with b4 her mother married him…some classic storylines…imo…are worth repeating!!!

I thought about that also when I saw Abby talking to Daniel. Abby went after a older married man a couple years ago with Austin.

The best example of this IMO is from Guiding Light with Blake Thorpe (then played by the so talented Sherry Stringfield) going after Ross Marler because her mother Holly wanted to get back with him. Blake was pissed that her mom told her love interest Alan-Michael the bad thing she did, so Blake got Ross’ attention and slowly seduced him and tried to get her mom to find them in bed.

So just have Jennifer do something to Abby to make her so mad that she goes after Daniel. The actress who plays Abby is not only gorgeous but man she can act, especially when she’s going off on someone!

I think you’re on to something! I know about that great story, but did not
see it! Once again, Hortons!!! You should be a writer!!! You know the
history.

Cameron was a stagnated character in desperate need of a backstory…he needed more of a history connection other than Lexis relative to make him more important and interesting. I wouldve brought back Valerie Grant, a Days character from the 70s and briefly in the 80s…Valerie was african american who was in love with David Banning, Julies son, who was white…back in the 70s their romance was contriversal and ended because of stupid fan protests…anyway i like to think Valerie and David remet in Europe years later and had a one night stand at the same time Valerie was engaged to another old boyfriend Jerry Davis whom she once dated in Salem in 1970s…Valerie becomes pregnant but doesnt tell David because he has reunited with his exwife Trish Clayton who is seriously ill. Jerry believes he is the babys father and tells his family back in the states but Jerry disapears without any expaination and is persumed dead. Valerie has the baby, a boy named Cameron, and gives the child to Jerrys family, the Davis’s to raise because she felt it was in the best interest of the child. Now years later, Valerie arrives in Salem and moves in with Maxine…her cousin. Valerie starts dating Abe Carver unaware both Maxine and Kayla Brady are attracted to Abe as well. Theo, Abes son, dislikes Valerie and has noticed Valerie always looking at Cameron. He tells Kayla who hints to Abe that Val might be attracted to the much younger Cam. Valerie admits Cam is her son and David Banning is his father. Abe and Valerie break up. Cam accepts David. who is now a lawyer and has return to Salem after wife Trish’s death, but Cam refuses to have anything to do with his mother Valerie. Abigail is so upset that she recently slept with Cameron…her own cousin…she seeks advice from Father Eric about becoming a nun just like her Aunt Marie had done after learning she was in love with a man who turned out to be her long lost brother Tommy Horton back in the 1960s. Meanwhile, the thought dead Jerry Davis turns out to be very much alive…he’s been secretly working for Stephano Dimera all this time. Jerry comes to Salem, and he wants Valerie, who is now engaged to David. Jerry is dangerously obsessed with Valerie…he arrives at the church to shoot David on his and Valeries wedding day but by mistake he shoots Valerie. Cameron saves Vals life and forgives her for putting him up for adoption until a jailed Jerry reveals he is Camerons father and not David Banning! This is what backstory i think that wouldve made Cameron a far more appealing character plus give him more connection to the shows rich history!!! IMO

Well I wouldn’t put it pass Daniel- the male slut of Salem. He has already shown he has a thing for the young ones– Chelsea and Chloe. He likes them older– Kate– tried to date Billie for a bit. Carly, Nicole, Jennifer and now — Theresa possibly– so why not Abigail– Daniel is Salem’s male version of Brooke on B&B

Well, both Abbey and Danny boy are running out of lovers…unless Daniel cant commit to any woman because he’s secretly gay and has been in denial for years…lol

You’ve proven my point!!! Your umbrella story shouls be submitted to Ken Corday!!!
I’m serious!!! The links between the past and present and connections between so
many characters and situations are mesmerizing!!! Go for it!!! PLEASE save DOOL!!!

I agree that a Jennifer/Daniel/Abigail triangle would be hot, controversial and just what this show needs. We don’t need any more instant undeveloped family members out of nowhere, so I’m okay with this character leaving. It always seemed forced anyway. These casting directors on the sony soaps need to stop looking for outside aesthetics and focus on talent and charisma.

I really don’t care if the character of Cameron is recast or not. What I do want is Peter Reckel (Bo) back on Days.

Boring character, subpar acting,.wont be missed, better as a model

SIDEBAR: STAT!

ie: mr. all that/in every story…. scene stealer…. and it’s not him…. Shawn Christian…

Daniel… you suck the life outa a quality show… perhaps its cause I would like other talent to showcase…. IE: think.. Kayla, Mary Beth Evans.. helping out Father Eric….

think: someone other than… Daniel…. UGH! I’m over it…. lamenting… and or small talking to Jordan… didn’t “we” know each other from med school.

GIVE ME A BREAK! give us a rest Daniel…..

dang! be with Jennifer… so be it. ALREADY…. just stay out of Jordan Ridgeway and Jeanne Theresa Donovan’s LIFE.

yikes…. Jenn at his highness feet…. “you are so right about everything”….

woah! take a break…

DAYS – SONY – NBC …. word UP! I got it…. enough!

Well..it is more Theresa who is after him actually..The problem of the Daniel character is the propping/praising by EVERY freaking characters on the show..they did the same thing with Rafe for years..and it was AWFUL and make/made the character unbearable.

I just never bought the Daniel – Jennifer love fest. It seemed like someone high up at Days decided they were going to MAKE the fans like them together and have just continued to force this couple… and doing so by torturing them ALL THE TIME. Mathew Ashford and the character of Jack was so much better and more interesting than Daniel.

Days of OUR Lives – is stil the bomb… and, yes, it’s still on the air…

deserves to be #2.

GH… i’ll red carpet with you… should be #1.

CBS… find yourself and too much obvious press… doesn’t bode well for your #1 status… uninteresting

Abigail… has left the golden ring… circuit… LOL

she has found her wings and is now full fledged in the scenery

I wish Austin was back…. he is SO funny. that truly was her best storyline… to date…

now that our Abby is in the know…

altho, I didn’t like her ripping in to Theresa… Abby cornering her… was JJ your dealer.

Theresa should have ball busted her chops…

I actually thought Austin and Abigail had more chemistry than Abigail has had with Chad or Cameron… and certainly more than the forced pairing of Jennifer and Daniel!

it was at the wrong time at the “wrong” time.

Lexie’s passing and demise… and replacement… of her fabulous mother… celeste… was not in the “cards”.

and seeing as he is a replacement… not having a story… and no family… stunted his being.

hey… it was FUN to watch him stripping… along with… pant pant… i’d see more Rafe and Brady! ANYTIME.

so… I definately, agree… with a poster… with Chad leaving as well…. and Cameron… they need a replacement and new prospect… dalliance with Abby.

Cameron was underdeveloped and the actor while beautiful (really beautiful imo) is dull on-screen..too bad he could have had potential with good story, backstory and some fire from the portrayer..i will miss his pretty/eye candy factor and african american actors will be once again greatly missed..sigh.

Maybe Abby can hook up for a while with T ! lol

T has that shy, sensitive, smile…..

he’s a nice guy…

I think it’s worth exploring….

I think he’s a cutie

the character of cameron was never developed & i blame the writers – there was so much potential for this character but nothing was never done about it…………….

Why did the character leave? Seems Days has an exodus of actors leaving.

NOTICE!!!

Corday Productions,

Hire jimh(leave it to beaver)!!!!!!!!!!!

With an enthusiastic writing that involves everything riveting, jimh(leave it to beaver)
would do nothing but greatness for DOOL!!!

Terrible writing for this character – such a waste!

Days of OUR Lives – “THE” Wally Kurth. Justin Kiriakis

Captivating – Sexy – Strong – Caring – nonplussed –

just doing his thing….

and it’s HOT!

I really Liked that talent actress playing the part of Maxine why can’t they give her a great storyline & bring in her children to get involved with character s on the show & her what about Abe & Maxine i can see them involved !!!!!!!!!! pls

Good. While he was a better Cameron than the first actor, the character has become an annoyingly needy person. I never saw the point of him, even when Lexie was alive. G’Bye Cameron and good riddance!

I have watched days for many decades. I am sadly disappointed because there’s no diversity! The characters play very biased roles. Inclusion? Exclusion? Not a very balanced casting disposition…..slanted lacking reality and swag. Storylines are demeaning & stale. Intelligence, self-worth, Intergrity, family values, and core belief Systems are still ALIVE…..Be relative, have dept and Do not be driven by fads and biased storylines! ….hoping for BETTER DAYS AHEAD…

They need to recast Can Davis all the younger group is leaving tired of same old characters why don’t days have a mixed couple days axed that if you can have gay men then you have a mixed couple.

Days broke off jen and cams relationship its like they don’t want mixed relationship but they are recasting some that plays gay.

I am disappointed that Cam is leaving the show. Although they made his character very boring, they could have spiced it up with a juicy story line.
Kristen, with this blue flash drive, has been extended too long and the
Eric dream episode needs to be ended too. Be glad when that’s over! Days drags their story lines too long.

Not to make this about race but why can’t dool create a successful interacial couple??? Nathan and Kati are both gorgeous and from a common sense perspective she had already moved on. There was no reason for her to be drawn/attracted to Chad. In the history of this show they have never been able to write without seeing color. You know this is the world we live in so if you can make your show reflect a gay relationship it should have an attractive interacial couple on it. I wouldve rooted for Abby and Cam. I also would’ve settled for Cam and Gabby. So get with it! Its 2013!!! Also for the love of all that is holy get some decent writers. I’ve lowered my standards enough!

Days’ Producers are really stupid to let such a good and good-looking character go as Nathan Owens (Cameron). He was much hotter and sexier than plywood-board thin Casey Dedrick (Chad), who always spoke with a hoarse voice. Come on Days, bring some sexy back into the show with Nathan !!

Please bring Nathan Owens (Cameron) back on the show.

PLEASE BRING NATHAN BACK!

Days Of Our Lives

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Photo: NBC

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Photo: JPI

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Photo: JPI

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

Photo: JPI

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
