Netflix and WWE Talk ‘Monday Night Raw’ Being ‘Family Friendly’, Roll-Out Plans, Buffering Issues
Netflix held a presentation at their Los Angeles HQ this week along with top executives from the WWE to discuss the streamer’s huge new partnership with the sports entertainment organization. It all kick January with the debut of Monday Night Raw on their platform, which is a significant move in WWE history to bring pro wrestling to a global audience.
Participating in the panel discussion were: WWE’s Nick Khan, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria, Netflix non-fiction series and sports VP Brandon Riegg, and WWE commentator, Michael Cole.
Much has been made if ‘Raw’s’ move to a streaming platform versus its long-running home on TV cabler, USA Network, will open up the opportunity for the product and programming to be more towards the “R” rated side. During the press conference, those rumors were shot down.

Chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque told reporters, that WWE Monday Night Raw would maintain its current “TV-PG” content rating in its new home, relating, “It’s a safe place for families, for kids, for everybody, to be able to view the programming. That will not change.”
WWE president/chief revenue officer Nick Khan added, “There’s some online chatter about how it’s going to be ‘R’ rated or, for us old folks, ‘X’ rated. That’s definitely not happening. It’s a family friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming. It’s going to stay that way.” Khan added that the big change is that WWE will now have a more “global flair.” Nick explained, “The countries outside of the United States are as important to us as the United States are. We have certain targeted countries that are priorities for Netflix. They’re priorities for us. You’re going to see more of that.”

WWE Monday Night Raw’s premiere on Netflix is scheduled for next month on January 6th from the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles (Inglewood to be exact) and will be a massive show. First, Pat McAfee will return as commentator alongside the aforementioned, Cole, and most likely, another return from John Cena, who is kicking off his farewell tour with the WWE, will be featured.
Khan shared that the premiere has already broken United States (live) arena ticket record, and that is in six weeks from now, and it’s not even close to being sold out. He added, “People are excited for this show.”
One issue looming over the Netflix debut of “Raw”, is can it stream events live without technical glitches, like the ones that went down at the recent Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight that had fans upset, Netflix executive, and a pro wrestling fan herself, Bela Bajaria, responded: “Whenever we do any live events, obviously, we want it to go very smoothly for every single one of our members. That’s really important, I think, also to put it in perspective: It was 65 million concurrent streamers. The scale was very big, which is great. There was a lot of interest in it. When you test and push something to 65 million (streams) at the same time… you can’t learn these things until you do them.”

The move to Netflix marks Raw’s first time leaving traditional linear television since it premiered more than 30 years ago. Bajaria added, “But if the past is any indication, WWE fans will follow, and millions of fans around the world will be able to experience it all on one service, which has never happened before, where we also hope that we can bring in new fans.”
Bajaria also mentioned the unscripted programming that Netflix has for the WWE Universe, adding, “I think we just can’t even imagine fans of WWE who’ve been looking and have to find in different places to really just be able to go and find it and just the easy access to be able to do that is going to be exciting. We also are really looking forward to doing documentaries and doc follows and really taking some of this just great history and characters and being able to do that on the unscripted and scripted side. There’s so many great stars that come from WWE that we’ve had a great relationship with on the TV and movie side.”
While Monday Night Raw moves to Netflix in January, you also have WWE Smackdown on USA Network and WWE NXT now on The CW. Meanwhile, its premium live events (formerly known as pay-per-view) and library content lives on Peacock. The deal with Peacock expires in 2026, and most expect that PLE”s and more will move over to Netflix at the expiration of that deal.

However, Netflix already has the international rights to the rest of the WWE content, including the premium live events, moving forward. “So outside of the U.S. we’re going to have WrestleMania and Royal Rumble and so many more. We just can’t even imagine, fans of WWE who’ve been looking and have to find in different places, the easy access is going to be exciting,” shares Bajaria.
Levesque added, “I don’t think people understand truly what that means. Outside of the U.S., the rest of the world, we’re getting everything on that date all at once. I can watch anything at any given time. It’s a game changer.”
So, are you excited for the move of Monday Night Raw to Netflix? Are you glad the partnership is keeping the brand content for streaming at PG, and not R-rated? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

CAKE FIGHTS AND CORPORATE INTRIGUE
The book description for The Young and the Rest of Us adds, “In June 1987, Jess Walton walked through the artists’ entrance at CBS for her first day on The Young and the Restless, where she had just been hired to play the recast role of Jill Abbott. Two Emmy awards, four decades, and countless onscreen affairs, marriages, corporate takeovers, and cake fights later, she’s a beloved icon with an astonishing tale to tell.”
“In her refreshingly candid style, Jess shares her journey as a young actress from Toronto theaters to Los Angeles, where she found herself at the center of a Laurel Canyon circle that included the likes of Neil Young, David Geffen, Laura Nyro, and Joni Mitchell. Landing a Universal contract and a steady stream of guest starring roles, Jess embraced everything 1970s L.A. had to offer—including Hollywood parties fueled by limitless booze and drugs, and trysts with stars. She recounts with candor and gratitude the surprising path that eventually led her to sobriety, true love—and ultimately, to fictional Genoa City, Wisconsin, and the role of a lifetime.”
“Brimming with behind-the-scenes drama and celebrity cameos to delight fans, The Young and the Rest of Us is also rich in personal, relatable truths about marriage, motherhood, empty-nesting, self-discovery, and finding the courage to start over—as often as it takes. In a voice as fearless and frank as Jill’s, but with, humor and grace all her own, Jess Walton looks back on a life as unpredictable, and adventure filled as anything she has portrayed on screen.”
WHO ELSE PLAYED JILL FOSER ABBOTT?
Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Walton became the fourth actress to take on the role of Katherine Chancellor’s original nemesis Jill Foster back in 1987. The OG Jill was played by Brenda Dickson, also Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon and Melinda O. Fee played the part.
This year, Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) filled-in for several episodes for Walton who was unavailable to travel from her home in Oregon to Los Angeles where Y&R was taped. Walton is still with the long-running soap opera as Jill.

Days Of Our Lives
‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.
So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami?
