It’s been awhile since we have all seen our beloved Michael E. Knight (Ex-Tad, All My Children) on our daytime television screens.  That drought ends next week on The Young and the Restless!

That’s when Knight makes his return to the soap world in his new role as Dr. Simon Neville, a highly-intelligent and forward-thinking doctor, who is brought in to the canvas by Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), who is looking for a solution to wake up the unconscious Hilary (Mishael Morgan).  For Neil, his plans have gone so far off the deep, that he now has his accomplice Gwen (Nadine Nicole) to deal with too! She claims says she is doing all of this, because of her love for Neil!

In the latest CBS Daytime promo, the action next week spotlights:  Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Justin Hartley) trying to figure out their relationship, after everyone knows that Adam has been walking among them as Gabriel Bingham for almost a year.  And, then it turns to the network announcing: “Michael E. Knight joins the cast.”  Michael’s first airdate is Thursday October 15th.

Watch the latest promo after the jump welcoming Michael E. Knight to the CBS fold!  Then let us know if you are excited to see him back on daytime, and what you think Dr. Neville will do …  or is capable of?  Will Neil’s plans ultimately backfire on him … yet again?  Comment below!

OK-
he is hot!!
I will be luvin him 🙂
0ooh I need a doctor!

I am so sick and tired watching Adam beg and beg an beg Chelsea to love him, barff.
That man best look for his manhood and stop being Chelsea kick toy;
Poor guys been neutered ..

Suoo, this is frightening to me. I agree with you on this.
Michael E Knight is going to be a sight for sore eyes for sure. In fact, I was looking for him today! I have really missed MEK. I so hope he can find a way to interject humor into his role.
I also agree with you about Chelsea. I cannot stand her and think she is so unworthy of his love.
Now here is affirmation that is all right with the world and that you and I continue to be polarized opposites–I think the only woman for Adam is Sharon.

hey Harry..
I wish Adam would get a dog LOL
I can see Pratt writing Adam and Sage as next couple of interest.
It would put brother against brother and Adams son (baby is his) out of the hands of Victor who will go into kill mode over his grandson being Adams boy that would be big drama..good soap drama ..
((If the baby lives it surely will be Adams..

yup! Adam and Sage= endgame ..

Why would you want to inflict that simpering, mousy, whiny little fool on Adam.?
Hasn’t he suffered enough for his sins?

I know. I never even think of Chelsea as a beauty. She’s passable. She is adorned to create an okay look. However, a great personality tends to make one overlook average or lack of gorgeous looks, or any physical flaw. Looks aren’t everything. As you say, Harry….Chelsea is whiny….wanting what does not exist….a perfect husband ( well, except for mine. Lol.) She is not what I would call an ideal wife, mother or person, in general.

I NEVER liked Chelsea but if Michael Muhney’s Adam wasnt going to be with Sharon, Chelsea and he had some chem. Justin’s version doesnt click at all with Chelsea AND where is the ruthless Adam who always had an angle. This version of Adam walks around like a female cat! Move on already!

Perfect word, Harry. Wholesome….that’s it. Chelsea is wholesome.

Ah, Su…ummm. You need a cold shower. I think you have a case of the fever. I sometimes sing Robert Palmer’s , DOCTOR, DOCTOR. My husband comes running. LOL. But, a fan will work, if Dr. Neville isn’t available.

I agree su0000, Michael Muhney must have taken Adam’s testosterone when he cleaned out his dressing room!

Chelsea has great skin and is very wholesome looking.

Chelsea ruined your life Adam, take Connor and leave the country! I look forward to Dr. Simon Neville

WHY is she so mad at him?

I guess she was tired of being lied too and his Paragon Project mislead her to believe Chelsea 2.0 was a huge hit! I dont know, she should have taken a minute or two to think this through because she still loves Adam and she believes Adam should help her raise Connor.

If you have never seen this dynamic actor before, you are in for quite a treat. I have literally watched every soap over the past 40 years (sans “Passions” — I do have my standards) and have to say that this man is one of the ten best actors I have ever seen.

FINALLY, wonderful news for soap fans.

Thank you, Carolina. I do so agree with you.

oh yesssssssssssssss! michael is just phenomenal

This is my first with Michael and it seems like everyone on this site is excited about MEK and it makes me anxious! I’m happy for the AMC fans!

Timmm, Tad Martin (Michael) was a very naughty, naughty boy. But his blasé personality….the furor in which he pursued girls, women, ladies, in general, did not turn the audience off. He was a womanizer with a bag of tricks in his repertoire. He used these tricks to the best of his ability….thus, the moniker, Tad the Cad. Something about Michael’s personality, which obviously transmitted into Tad, endeared him to his fans and consequently, was forgiven his antics. He did leave his roguish ways behind, as he grew older….but that mischievousness was ever-present. I hope we will see some of that risqué behavior in Dr. Neville.

Thrilled for MEK to be back on my screen. I’m all for a chem test between MEK and Eileen Davidson. Ashley needs a man and a story.

BINGO!

I can’t wait to see ‘Tad’. Yeah, he will always be Tad to me. He still looks so good; so handsome.
TPTB should not have killed Cady off. Imagine if she were still part of the cast? She and Michael could have reunited. If only!!

We never saw Kelly’s body! However, it seems she burned all bridges leading back to Y&R.

Well, Timmm. I can’ blame Cady. I thought her talent was wasted on Y&R. She was treated shabbily. However, as an actress for countless years, she ought to have developed a modicum of thick-skin…..she should be more than prepared to receive negative comments/retorts.
None of us should ever burn any bridges. That is the best advice my Dad ever gave me. ” Speak your mind with courtesy and respect; defend your ground with wisdom; and, be compassionate” .
Later.

Yes, she was crapped on! I liked her alot better than the first Kelly. She should have had thicker skin but who knows unless you are in her skin. I give her the benefit of the doubt. Your dad was/is a very wise man dear Cee!

Thank you, Timmm. I shall tell him. Luv-ya
PS. You’re right. No one knows another’s heart, unless one walks in her/his shoes.

I’m so glad to see Michael E. Knight that I don’t care if he’s just there to read the phone book. He’s my second favorite daytime actor ever (after Van Hansis). I hope t’s not hard to get with the program Y&R. I never did learn all the storylines to GH and had to give up. It’s too busy! But I got into Days easily and I’m leaving since Sonny and now Will are gone. I have that hour free and I’m pleased to put it toward My Michael E. knight!

i am so looking forward to seeing michael e knight back on daytime…………………
looks like his character might not be so squeaky clean – i am excited to see everything unfold!!

Gwen is so stupid. He’s using you girl!!!!!!

I think it is safe to say that A LOT of us have tended, or STILL DO tend to do some “stupid things” in the name of love. Whether Gwen’s very own version of her very own love for Neil could be painted as “WRONG”, or not… That’s not the point, like I have read and heard about many others talking about on even other websites with any shenanigans about soap opera’s, just as well.

In my opinion at the very least, Gwen isn’t “stupid”. What she is doing — the actions that she are taking, are all in the name of love — as crazy of actions that they may appear to be to the viewing and or to the involved “eyes” and “ears”. To call even a character “stupid” for generally doing roundabout things that sometimes us in “real-lif” do, I don’t think that that is a fair judgement.

Yes, I get that doing things like helping someone keep this deep and dark secret from others around them… Or helping someone hide information from the rest of the town… Or withholding actual people from other people (just like what is being done with Hillary, right now) for such of really any amount of time… It can all be looked at as “stupid” and or “dumb” and or “asinine”… And pretty much that would usually all be because what people do, it hurts others. And it actually hurts and affects the masterminds of any “devious plans”, as well. Because at least through what I know and have been through throughout my entire life so far, I know all too well that *KHARMA* usually DOES come back to bite you in the buttocks. At the very least, to me, also known as… “You GET, what you GIVE…”

That’s the whole moral story of life anyways, at least in my eyes… If you GIVE your heart out to somebody, you will RECEIVE their heart right back. If you give people good-intended smiles, eventually people will give you good-intended smiles back. If you GIVE the love of your life a lot of pain through infidelity and cheating on them, then you may and or will essentially deal with your very own situation where YOU were the one that will have been cheated on. If you GIVE sadness, sadness will creep back up on you in return sometime and or some day through some futuristic life situation.

In this case with what Gwen and Neil are doing, holding Hillary hostage and whatnot. Of course we already know even as viewers what THEY have already done and what THEY are doing right now. There is nothing even we as viewers can change the way any what situation has already taken place amongst all of the camaraderie that IS of Genoa City. And I guess what we have to do, is learn how to ACCEPT that these characters have been and ARE still trapped right in the middle of partaking and or doing all of these “misdeeds”. Now, I am NOT saying that what Neil and Gwen are doing is “RIGHT”, but was it also right for what Devon and Hillary did to Neil by sleeping together and or with one another? I know that the intricated situations (cheating / infidelity VERSUS holding a woman you once “loved” hostage)… that they both pail in comparison to each other. But, if you look at it in a broader aspect of way(s), then you could possibly see why Neil started this hostage situation. It was and or IS his “revenge plan” in response to what was done to him in the name of love. Eventually, we know that there HAS to be a breaking point with these kinds of situations.

WOW!!

AHHH!!! This post could have been written by Gwen herself.
What Neal is doing is beyond creepy! It’s something only a very very disturbed person would do. He has also committed at least three felonies and needs to be put in a criminally insane institution.
That Gwen is acting like what Neil is doing is completely understandable and forgivable is CRAZY!!!!! I shudder to think that any woman could possibly relate to Gwen.

@Harry.
Harry, that’s what I mentioned too, a few posts ago. Covering up one crime by committing so many more doing it, is worse than the original crime, such a no-side-up-travesty. The travesty is a travesty unto itself.

I hope Michael E Knights character gets together with Jill!

Why? Jill is a virago. MEK is a god. She deserves to be with Colin. I can’t stand Jill. She slept with Jack while married to his father, John. Plus, she’s not sophisticated enough for Neville/Michael.
I do see the newest doctor with Ashley.

I think the character of Jill died when Katherine died! Jill couldnt even connect with Tristan Rogers and he is magical! No, keep MEK away from Jill.

I agree with Sonja and Timm.

I am glad MEK allowed his hair to go silver. I hate it when these over forty year old men dye their hair monochromatic black or dark brown. (Yes, I am looking at you, Maurice Benard).
I think MEK looks more handsome with the salt and pepper hair and it brings out his beautiful eyes.

Opps, meant to write that I agree with Cee Cee and Timm.
Not that it matters, but Jill is in her late sixties and Michael E Knight is in his mid fifties.
I don’t mind an age disparity, however, I do mind it when we’re supposed to pretend that that age disparity does not exist. For instance, Nancy Lee Grahn (GH’s Alexis) is a decade older than her on screen lover played by William deVry (Julian) and it shows. However, we are supposed to believe Alexis is a few years younger than Julian.
I cannot wait until Thursday! MEK—it has been wayyyyyy too long!

Oh, Oh,…is Chloe going to shoot Adam?

He really looks good, much better than a few years ago when he looked unwell.

Can’t wait for the 15th and the debut of Dr. Simon Neville!!!

I also, am very excited that MEK is back on a soap!! Early Xmas present .. Michael made a personal appearance at a home show in my home town in ’92. He was very nice and funny when he spoke to the crowd. Afterwards, he signed autographs for everyone that wanted one. He was very nice to everyone I saw him interact with and talked with each person a bit. He is as good looking in person. I hope Y & R keeps him on and offers him a contract. I have read rumors Sean Carrigan may be leaving , so they may need a Doc.. One can only hope. Can’t wait till Thursday!

I am such a fan, as well, Leslye. Michael has a few movies floating out there, but, my favorite is DATE WITH AN ANGEL. I was much younger when I watched it, but I fell instantly in love. Such a beautiful guy….funny, too.

awhile should be a while.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
