General Hospital is on the move this coming Monday September 10th to its new time slot of 2PM EST & 1PMPST/CST, which is one hour earlier than fans have been used to seeing the beloved citizens of Port Charles.  And now, these same citizens face life or death explosive drama at the hands of Jerry Jacks!

In the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, the series EP Frank Valentini previews the drama in which we learn not everyone in town will survive the week! The episodes will include new insight into Jerry’s master plan, a shooting, and an explosion, in addition to the waterborne poison released on the town!

Valentini said he was thrilled with the outcome of  the location shoot that is the backdrop for next week noting:  “I’m really proud of the team and I am really proud of the actors.  I just think everybody really knocked it out of the park and the audience is going to be really thrilled with the performances from the actors and the story.  It’s really exciting stuff.”

Now after the jump, watch the just released extended General Hospital promo for next week ushering the show into its new time slot.  Then let us know if you are excited to see the story unfold?

Holy God this looks amazing. I am so excited. Thanks Ron and Frank. You both are the best there is.

Looks awesome! Can’t wait. But now I will have to choose between GH & DOOL :'(

There are always ways to watch both nowadays, between DVR, Tivo, or whatever recording device you have, and in the case of GH, you can always catch episodes on ABC.com or YouTube, I’m not sure about DOOL since I don’t watch it. But you don’t have to pick one or the other, you can still watch both.

I cannot wait until next week. I’m so anticipating what’s going to happen to the citizens of PC. It seems that Jerry is always up to no good so it’s just a matter of who’s going to get to him first and finish him off. I love everybody but I’m more anxious to see what’s gonna happen to my beloved John McBain. He’s my all time favorite and I just hope he comes out of this mess unscathed. Lovin me some McBain!!

GH rocks, pissed off about Steve leaving, hope before jason is gone for good he has a reunion with Elizabeth and leaves her pregnant, the storyline that would generate would be awesome, i can picture Sam and Elizabeth coming together for the sake of the baby, and wanting the babies to bond, this time around the baby should be a girl,Gh owes Laison fans this much.

Oh God, please. Hasn’t Elizabeth been pregnant often enough, with enough different men NOT her husband? And you want her left with another child to pawn off on Gran?

No we don’t need that but let’s see Carly has three kids by three different fathers and oh so does Alexis everyone seems to forget that. It seems every time RH was pregnant in real life they thought they had to write it in.

Now this looks like a quality soap! Still concerned on how Jason will be exited. Will some of us get what we have been waiting for……end of Jason and Sam (baby isn’t his or her’s?) Get some quality s/l of Liz, Jason and Jake being back??!!

YES….SO EXCITED!

I cannot believe how good GH has been lately. The team of Ron and Frank have done it again! Brought me back to GH, in front of the tv, not just leaving it on and going about my business. Whats funny is I had a dream, PC blew up and the survivors all moved to LLandview! lol How awesome. But alas, it was just a dream……

Frank and Ron… you have proven yourselves with OLTL, and again with this wonderful storyline with GH. Thank you guys for your hard work, your talents…Keep it going! We are watching! and ……. you ARE appreciated!

Looks amazing. Can’t wait till Monday!! Good timing too, I will be all moved into my new place.

Love to see Jack Wagner back on General Hospital!

??

That is the most exciting promo I have ever seen for General Hospital. To bad ABC doesn’t pour some money into that promo and promote GH like they do some of their new loser program’s.

Can’t wait! Looks good!!!

LOL.. I should have known they would make it all about Sonny. 🙂 I’ll be waiting to see how that ties in.

It will be nice to see a location shoot though.

I was excited until I saw that they pretty much made that promo ‘ALL’ about Sonny Corinthos, AGAIN. Seriously must 99.9% of the storylines revolve around or involve Sonny and or Jason? So sick of the mobsters at this point they should just rename the darn soap. 🙁

guess you’ll be happy once Jason leaves the show in roughly six weeks.

I think Sonny will be leaving soon too.

i am ok with that… provided we get some of the original cast back…

I’ve got to say that I can not for next week to start. I’ve got to say that I do agree with many I really hope McBain does not get hurt. I hope after this him and Sam have the talk and realize that they want to pursue the relationship. I also want my Liasion back before Steve leaves. So I again hope we see Mcbam finally turn into the wonderful couple that they are.

IMHO Sam and John are boring together! John is very quiet and needs the opposite. How about John and Carly?

Looks good to me! A good way to send some out in glory so some more OLTL characters can come over.

After a promo like that AND this storyline so far I ask: How can anyone complain about GH or Cartini? WOW!!!!

AWESOME!!! Can’t wait!

I wish they would show that promo in Primetime! We have to see Scandel and Revenge promos. The nightime people should get to see GH promos. Maybe they are showing it?? I do not watch primetime ABC

I know. When and where do they show the promo? I don’t watch ABC daytime other than GH and nor do I watch primetime, but I have to see Revenge, 666, and everything else promoted … including that G– awful CHEW!

The Port of Los Angeles is seeing a lot of action these days thanks to Y&R and GH.

No not necessarily happy. Happy that Steve Burton has found another venture that makes him happy. My issue isn’t with the characters it’s more so with having all roads lead back to mob ties, meaning Sonny and or Jason. It’s just to the point I’m like enough all ready. There are other awesome characters on this show, let’s give them something that has absolutely nothing at all to do with Sonny Corinthos, Jason Morgan, the mob. Then maybe I’ll start watching more, I only watch now for Todd.

Carly! Carly. “Carly”

and, it’s ALL, because, of: Jax.

As soon as Carly saw Jax, walk in to the hospital room… She emodied… his wife. Radiant… Lovely… twosome. They inherently know they belong together! I love them.

all things considered… Ingo Rademacher… needs to return full-time… to replace Steve Burton… and be the perfect foible for Sonny.

i agree!

I don’t understand what so many who complain about Sonny expect. It is quite apparent that Sonny is the face of GH now. Yes he gets a lot of screen time, but it is tapering. It takes time for the mob to go away. It’s kind of like pregnancy weight gain – you didn’t put it all on in one day and you can’t expect to lose it all in one day.

They have to clean up the Joe Scully mess which I heard might take several months as he has big plans to takeover Sonny’s territory or something. They need to slowly get Sonny out of the mob and give him a focus on something else. I think it would be good to see him teach boxing at the new ring (kind of like THE WIRE) and that way he could be on a few times a week, but not the majority.

I think the fact that he is sort of on the same side as McBain and his son shows that Sonny is not so much the hated mobster anymore. I see him cooperating more with law enforcement and possibly respected.

That being said, I am just fine with the promo being centered around Sonny because Maurice Benard is a very charismatic man and he gets one’s attention when he is on screen. Sonny has been the face of GH for quite some time now. Maybe if others (vets) had not left it would still be focused on them.

The promo looked so much better than any of the other stunts or effects that the previous regime did in the past. I just think GH is firing on all cylinders right now.

The bottom line is that you will never make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time. People are crying for their beloved One LIfe to Live and All My Children characters. Well what about the Loving/The City, Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Another World, Santa Barbara, Search for Tomorrow, Passions, Port Charles, and anyone else I forgot to mention? Is General Hospital just supposed to dump GH characters in favor of canceled soap characters? This isn’t a list for Santa Claus. Come on people. Just be happy with the turnaround that the new team has made and be happy your show is still on the air. Rejoice when a GH vet or an actor from a canceled show comes on. Stop being so greedy.

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

Maura West and Kelly Sullivan

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.

The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.

Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST

Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”

Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”

Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL

Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”

You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.

So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!

Steve Burton Reportedly Signs Three-Year Contract with ‘General Hospital’

Published

Steve Burton

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.

TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.

That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

STEVE’S HIATUS AND HIS RETURN TO PORT CHARLES

GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.

Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).

Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.

GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS

Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.

Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.

Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.

So, happy to hear that Steve Burton signed a new three year deal with General Hospital? Knowing that, what storyline would you like to see Jason get involved and with who? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Britt Reach an Impasse; Is This the End of Their Relationship?

Published

on

By

Jason and Britt

On the Friday, September 11 episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship becomes strained to potentially the point of no return.

Things take a turn when an unglued Britt having been traumatized by almost being killed by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) asks Jason to back her up with the PCPD when she reports Anna for attempted murder.

However, Jason told Britt, he can’t. Jason shares that he does not believe Anna would have gone through with shooting her. Therefore, Britt was not in any real imminent danger. Britt is flabbergasted and hurt that Jason is refusing to tell the police what he actually witnessed for himself on Mount Emerson.

BRITT WANTS BACK UP FROM JASON

Jason counters that he can’t believe that Britt would want Anna punished. or sent to prison, or a mental facility after the trauma she endured while being locked up and mentally tortured while at Wyndemere.

He asks Britt, “How could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Britt is stunned by Jason’s response.

Coming up, official General Hospital spoilers share that on the upcoming Monday, September 14 episode, Jason confides in Carly (Laura Wright), while Britt is stung. In the video preview that aired at the end of the Friday, September 11 episode for this coming Monday, Britt says to Jason, “You don’t believe me. Do you?”

General Hospital head scribes, Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte previously teased in their fall preview of the soap, “Britt and Jason have come a long way and fought a lot of enemies to be together. But the most stubborn obstacle to their happiness isn’t without, it’s within. Decisions Britt made to stay alive while under Cullum’s thumb will come back to haunt her and may prove too difficult for this unlikely couple to survive.”

So, what do you think will happen? Will Jason and Britt break-up over Britt’s lies and Jason’s unwillingness to report Anna’s crime against her? Do you want Jason and Britt to go their separate ways? If they do, will Britt become romantically involved with Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) ? If so, who do you pair Jason with? Anyone? Weigh-in via the comment section.
