47th Annual Daytime Emmys Draws Over 3 Million Viewers For CBS Telecast with Return to Network TV
Friday night was a good night for daytime! With its first foray back on to network television since 2011, the Daytime Emmy kudofest, while for the first time held this year virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scored very well in its timeslot.
The CBS broadcast averaged 3.1 million total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating. That is way up from the last time viewers saw the award show on TV when it was on cable network POP TV back in 2015 with just over 900,000 viewers for its initial broadcast.
According to TV Insider report: The first hour of the Emmys garnered 3.3 million viewers to top the hour by edging out a rerun on ABC”s Shark Tank, and then slipped to second place for the second hour with 2.8 million viewers.
These were strong numbers for Friday night, and hopefully CBS and the other major networks will now continue this, and serve up the Daytime Emmy Awards moving forward.

The ladies of CBS’s The Talk hosted the event; each virtually from their homes, in an event filled with at-home acceptance speeches and presenters, and clip packages. The show was produced by NATAS and Associated Television International

I can only hope he will act like his age on his return..
Last time he came off like an 8 yr old..
15 yr old boys are very savvy smart informed guys
and rarely mamas boys..
So, here hoping Spenser will act as a 15yr old.

I’m one who won’t shed any tears over this, Jimh. I loathe Valentin and still remember how he used to bully Spencer when he couldn’t best him any other way. Typically coward-like behavior.

Absolutely looking forward to seeing him back on the canvas and all the story points for Spencer to play. I hope TPTB don’t disappoint and show us all the feelings that these characters would deal with. The talented actors in these roles will knock it out of the park if given the chance.

Good news that Spencer is back, but he’s gonna look completely out of place if he’s in scenes with Joss & Cameron who used to be the same age as him, but clearly aren’t anymore.
First things first though, and he really needs to rip his dad a new orifice for faking his death and leaving him in the dark for three years. Spencer’s a smart kid with all the Cassadine & Corinthos genes which would have left him entirely capable of being in on the scam to take down Val the Bastard.

This is the greatest news, especially since shows are too anxious to age the young characters. I was afraid that Spencer would come back as a 20-something. There are some
actors that are so terrific, and are happy to be on the show, that it’s a shame to even think of replacing them. I’m thinking of Robin Scorpio-Drake and Kimberly McCullough.
