Some interesting casting news hot on the heels of the news yesterday, that Karine Vanasse (Margaux) will be upped to series regular if ABC’s Revenge gets picked-up for a fourth season!

TV Line revealed today that none other than Halle Berry’s husband, actor Olivier Martinez, has signed on with the soap in the Hamptons to play the on-screen father of Vanasse!  Martinez will have the recurring role of Pascal LeMarchal, the media magnate father to Margaux!

What we know is that Pascal is a cutthroat businessman who has a history with Conrad (Henry Czerny), and history with Victoria (Madeleine Stowe).  Is he a love from her past?

With Martinez embarking on his new role on Revenge, this marks the French actor’s biggest TV commitment.  And as for wife Halle Berry, she is set to star on CBS this summer in the drama series, Extrant!

What do you think about the casting of Olivier Martinez on Revenge?  Sound intriguing?  Let us know!

Interesting news; isn’t he a little young to play Karin Vanasse’s father?

Always thought he was hot…loved him in films. Was totally mesmerizing in Unfaithul. However, once he beat the crap out of Gabriel Aubry I’m no longer a fan.

I’ll continue to watch because I love the show…I have no doubt he’ll be great in the role…but I have no respect for him as a person.

I totally agree with you. I’ll just fast forward through his scenes. Kind of put a dent in the show for me.

Amen, rebecca1!!!! Thought highly of the guy when he was with Kylie Minogue throughout her illness and was disappointed when they parted, but never got the whole Berry thing with him. They both seem bonkers. As for the gorgeous Gabriel, I would have preferred to see him on “Revenge!” Perhaps not as skilled in the acting sense as Martinez, but definitely a far better man and more to my liking in the looks department! (Yes, I know you already consider me to be superficial….can’t help it, I like them blond boys…LOL.) ; )

hahahha…I can be quite the superficial myself when it comes to looks Shay! Naaaa…lemme clafiry. Looks only go so far in REAL life. But there’s no shortage of my boy crushes…from Gabriel to Jonathan Rhys Myers, Orlando Bloom, Jude Law, Henry Cavill, the list goes on and on and on…thank goodness!!! 😉

So you go for those “Brit Boys,” too!!! There is something about them….they just seem more sophisticated and stylish! I’ve been this way like, forever! It started in the formative years of the ’80’s with those pop bands like Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet, not to mention the late, great Robert Palmer! Then it made its way into the acting field. About the only Yank who captured my imagination to the same extent was James Spader….loved, loved, loved him through all his prepster roles and upper crust villainy. Alas, I finally gave up on him when he crossed into “character… Read more »

Not superficial. I have to clarify again. I love/lust with the best of em…maybe more. I just don’t discount people, real or fictional…cause I’m a mushball too. So, if a character is deemed worthy in my eyes, I’ll defend them…again, in real life too. But yes, YES!!! I have such a list of lustees! Alak and alas, poor James. He was tres sexy in Sex, Lies and Videotape…in his day. Still a superb actor but man! Say no more… As for the Brit boys…I think it’s the accent…from other countries as well…Jonathan Rhys Is Irish as is Colin Farrell, Keith… Read more »

Can take or leave Aiden….no biggie. And I don’t even mind that you champion Margaux….although I am really turned off by her, she certainly doesn’t rate “Sabrina” territory for me, so I just say to each their own on that one…LOL. By the way, in total agreement on Simon Baker…have been a great follower of his since “The Guardian!” Some of the other mentions, not so much….you seem more “equal opportunity” on the issue of blond vs. brunette, while I am pretty squarely in the fair-haired boys camp! (And speaking of, I am also loving the actor portraying James “Jimmy”… Read more »

I’ll be glad to get some back story on Margaux. However, if they don’t “age him up” with make up or something the fact that he doesn’t look old enough to be her father will be a bit of a distraction.

I’m not liking this at all because I’ve hated Margeaux from day 1, almost as much I hate Aiden.

Me too….in fact, I wrote a none-too-glowing critique on her in the last Revenge thread regarding her character, and it must have been judged as being too harsh since it didn’t get posted. But yes, there is something very off-putting about her….She is just….. ugh!!!!

haha!! gloves back on! I LIKE Margaux (sp?). I think she’s beautiful, elegant, wise, and a refreshing light amdst the sea of deliciious “evil doers.” Until and if proven wrong…I welcome her sophisticated, sunny disposition. And…I’m curious to see where her loyalties will lie as the PLOT THICKENS… (music please…)

‘Dr. Oz Show’ Taken Off the Air in NY and PA Due to Senate Run; Daphne Oz ‘The Good Dish’ to Fill Time Slot

In light of his announcement that he will be running as a republican senate candidate in the state of Pennsylvania, Dr Oz’s daytime talk and medical show, The Dr. Oz Show, is being taken off the air in key markets in New York and Pennsylvania, according to the Fox Station Group.

According to Deadline’s sources, Fox TV Stations proceeded with pulling the Sony Pictures TV-distributed syndicated series because of the prospect of being forced to give other political candidates running in Pennsylvania equal time, expressing that it “would be a nightmare for us, there was no way we were going to be able to do that.”

In its place, look for Dr. Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, to be the fill-in with her show.

Starting on January 18th, Daphne’s The Good Dish, will take over the time slot during the duration of her father’s political campaign.  This potentially could go all the way through November of 2022, if Oz remains in the race through election day.

Last fall, Fox TV Stations renewed The Dr. Oz Show for two more years which gave it life through 2023.

So, do you think more stations will go bye-bye and have The Dr. Oz show pulled? What do you think of daughter Daphne’s series as the fill-in? Comment below.

General Hospital Has No Immediate Plans to Recast the Role of Jason Morgan Following Steve Burton’s Departure

According to a report from Variety, ABC’s General Hospital is not planning on recasting the role of Jason Morgan at this time, following the exit of Steve Burton.

The two-time Daytime Emmy winning star was let-go from the soap after not adhering to their Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

The mandate went into effect on November 1st and in story, the series wrote Burton out, but still left wiggle room for the character to return.

Jason was buried under a rubble when a cave collapsed on top of him, while he was trying to apprehend arch-villain, Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

In his exit announcement on Instagram, Burton did express: “Maybe one day if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan.”  Steve had played the role of Jason since 1991, but with a four-year break at Y&R, before returning to the role in 2017.

Now whether down the line, GH does eventually recast Jason remains to be seen.

So, it looks like Jason will be off the canvas for awhile, and Port Charles will continue to grieve for him.

So, what are your thoughts? Should GH leave Jason off the canvas? Should they recast down the line?  Comment below.
