OLTL and Screen star, Farley Granger dead at 85!

He was a romantic idol in the 1950’s in Hollywood in movies  for legendary directors Alfred Hitchock, Luchino Visconti, Anthony Mann, and Nicholas Ray, and his personal love life was most  intriguing with some of Tinseltown’s most notable; from Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Shelley Winters, to Ava Gardner! But soap fans know him as the one time Dr. Will Vernon on One Life to Live back in 1976-1977.  We are speaking of Farley Granger.

Granger died of natural causes at age 85 this past Sunday at his home in Manhattan.  Granger was nominated in 1977 for Outstanding Lead Actor at the Daytime Emmys for his role on One Life.  His soap tour did not stop there.  Next he joined Edge of Night for a stint as Trent Archer in 1979-1980 and then his last soap town would be Oakdale and As the World Turns where he played Earl Mitchell.  Earl was husband to Lisa, played by Eileen Fulton.

In 2007, he published his autobiography, “Include Me Out: My Life from Goldwyn to Broadway” with his longtime partner Robert Calhoun, a producer at ATWT and GL, who died in 2008.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Granger’s family and friends.

Adam Huss Fills-in as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital

Look for Nikolas Cassadine to have a new look on tomorrow’s Wednesday, September 29th episode of General Hospital when Adam Huss temporarily replaces Marcus Coloma in the role for that episode.

Although no reason has been given for the short recast, Huss shared on his website: “I heard a little rumor that I’ll be on @generalhospitalabc this week, getting to play #nikolascassadine for a moment.”

Huss had previously shared on a post on his Instagram which has since been taken down: “Tune in Sept. 29th, Wednesday, on ABC for the juicy stuff!”  It appears Huss got to play opposite Maura West (Ava) and Kin Shriner (Scott) in scenes when he also added: “Got to work with some amazing folks and consummate professionals! Thank you to the best (casting director), Mark Teschner, and his amazing crew.”

Adam has previously appeared in daytime on Days of our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful and Passions, and in primetime on Power, NCIS and Everwood, to name but a few.

So looking forward to seeing Adam as temp Nikolas tomorrow on GH? Comment below.

Lori Loughlin Returns To Acting; Set To Reprise ‘When Calls The Heart’ Role in GAC Family’s ‘When Hope Calls’

Former Fuller House, Edge of Night, and When Calls the Heart star, Lori Loughlin, has landed her first acting role since jail time and her part in the College Admissions Scandal; where she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, paid half a million dollars in bribes to get their two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, accepted into the University of Southern California.

While, Jade is now also in this season’s Dancing with the Stars, now comes word that Loughlin has gotten her first acting gig since all the legal trouble, and while still on probation following her two months in jail.

Look for Lori to reprise her beloved role of Abigail from When Calls the Heart on its season two spin-off on GAC Family, When Hope Calls.

According to Deadline: Loughlin will appear in the two-part Season 2 premiere titled When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, to air on Saturday, December, 18th.  Lori was last seen on TV as Abigail in Season 6 of Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart before she was let go over her involvement in the college admissions scandal.

Last week, speculation began that Loughlin may be back working after a report surfaced from Mercury News  that she had been granted permission by a Boston federal judge to travel to Canada for about a week in late September-early October for “a filming production project.”
