Just in time for your Valentine’s Day gift giving, the stars from ABC Daytime’s One Life to Live perform a selection of love songs in a new Valentine’s Day CD entitled The Sound of a Kiss. The seven track CD will be released on iTunes ($5.99) tomorrow on Tuesday, February 8th with original songs performed by Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer),  David Gregory (Robert Ford), Kelley Missal (Danielle Rayburn) and Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde).

“With the release of  The Sound of a Kiss, we continue to explore opportunities to incorporate music into One Life to Live which has always been very important to us,” said Frank Valentini, OLTL’s executive producer. “The audience has a passionate investment in our characters and this CD affords the opportunity to create a deeper connection between the fans and the show.”

Paul Glass, supervising music director of Sound of a Kiss stated,  “There are a couple of tracks that the fans have been asking for and that we have been wanting to get out there: the song Kelley Missal sang at Todd and Tea’s wedding and Kassie DePaiva’s song from New Year’s Eve.  We have some great new tracks from Kristen Alderson, David Gregory and Brittany Underwood, as well as the song that Kassie sings on the show this Valentine’s Day.  I really feel like this album has something for every fan!”

Now if Frank would just explore creative opportunities with storylines that he and Ron C. have been hashing, rehasing, and reheating for years. Isn’t Starr up for another Kidnapping right about now?

CW’s Batwoman TV Series Looking For Out Lesbian Actress To Play Title Role

In some intriguing casting news, the upcoming Batwoman series currently in development for The CW will feature TV’s first gay superhero character that is a series lead.

But on top of that, news today via TVLine has that the series is seeking an out lesbian actress to play the title role of Batwoman aka Kate Kane.  They are looking for an actress ages 25-29 of any ethnicity.

As to the log lines of the series, here’s what was released: “A wealthy socialite who calls Gotham home, Batwoman’s Kate Kane is described as ‘armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind,’ while physically she is a ‘highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence.’ But don’t call her a hero yet.  In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

Look for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television to helm the development deal.  Caroline Dries, an out lesbian, will be the head writer. She is best known for her work on The Vampire Diaries.

Batwoman/ Kate Kane will be first seen this fall in a four-way crossover event between ArrowThe FlashSupergirl and Legends of Tomorrow with the goal for the character to land her own series.

So, which lesbian actress should play CW’s LGBT super hero? Share your suggestions and thoughts in the comment section below.

In the just released promo from ABC,  Obrecht needs to be stopped, depending on who you are rooting for, that is.  We see her smash Franco (Roger Howarth) in the head from behind on the docks to keep him from uncovering what she has been up to.  Then, it looks as if Obrecht is holding what looks to be a molotov cocktail! “You have come to the end of the road,” she wildly tells Peter.

Nina attempts to stop her, but it’s too late,  Next thing you know the cabin is engulfed in flames? Who will get out of there alive?

Vinessa Antoine Reveals She And General Hospital Have Parted Ways; After Landing Primetime Series Lead

After the fantastic bit of casting news for actress Vinessa Antoine  (Jordan Ashford) over the weekend, today, via her social media accounts, Vinessa has addressed her future with General Hospital.

As viewers know, Vinessa has been cast as the drama series lead in the new CBC production of Diggstown, and it is groundbreaking making her the first black actress to star in a series on the legendary Canadian broadcasting network,   Originally it was presumed that Antoine would go recurring on GH, while she was away filming, but that is not the case as she revealed in her heartfelt message today.  She and GH have mutually parted ways.

Vinessa’s statement: “There are so many people that God put into place who are directly and indirectly responsible for my time at General Hospital.  You know who you are. I thank you. I came into this world as an artist. My job is to create and inspire. I hope that I did that a little in playing #JordanAshford.

I believe that I have taken her as far as I can.  To clarify, as negotiations for #Diggstown were underway, although I am open to stay and play in Port Charles, I was told by my reps that GeneralHospital felt that my character would be off the canvas for too long for me to continue playing her.

With that, we decided to mutually part ways.  It’s time to make room for more women of color in prominent roles on television. I’m grateful to assist in that by starting this new chapter in my journey. I hope you’ll all come along. I feel blessed. Be well. xo”

An ABC rep told Soap Opera Digest that the role of Jordan is being recast.

So what do you think of Vinessa leaving GH for good? Share your thoughts via the comment section below and let’s wish her much success!
