OLTL's Eddie Alderson on reveal; Matthew is Eddie Ford's murderer!

© JPI Studios

As fans were watching the fantastic episode of Friday’s One Life to Live, I am sure we all guessed together that Clint, of all peeps, was protecting his nephew Matthew, from being found out that he was the actual murderer of Eddie Ford.  Once Clint spilled the beans to Matthew’s parents, Bo and Nora, it set the stage for today and Wednesday’s, April 4th and April 6th episodes where we learn what happened.  Actor, Eddie Alderson who has brilliantly turned the once nice guy Matthew into somewhat of a heel, with a little help from Uncle Clint, gives a preview to TV Guide. Here are a few excerpts!

Alderson on the mysterious phone call between Matthew and Clint that proves Matthew is guilty of the crime: “For the last few months, the only person who had Matthew’s back — the only one Matthew could trust — was Clint. After he kills Eddie he doesn’t know what to do. He thinks his life is over, so he calls Clint and admits what he did. And there is a recording of that call. Matthew was having a hard time keeping the murder to himself. It was like a ton of bricks on his shoulders. He had to look at his friends and family and lie right to their faces, acting like everything’s normal when, in fact, he was going totally crazy inside.”

Alderson on those flashback scenes that were shot with a recently returning John Wesley Shipp (Ex-Eddie) to shore up the storyline: “Like everything these days, we had to do it pretty fast, but I think it turned out well. It was very cool to do. You’ll see Matthew admitting everything to Bo and Nora, and during that we see the murder and what led up to it between Matthew and Eddie. I think his parents will fight tooth and nail to not have him serve prison time.”

So, did soapers have an inkling it was Matthew all along who shot Dear Eddie? Do you like the twist in the story? Let us know.

Never saw this one coming – kudos on a wonderful twist. Great way to show fans that big, bad Clint does have a heart, which we have not seen in some time. It also gives Bo and Nora a chance to work with the “other side” of the law, in dealing with the ramifications of Matthew’s actions. Creates a storyline for Matthew as well, since he has been on the backburner. Long live “One Life to Live”, I enjoy all of the storylines and characters!
