UPDATE: OLTL's John-Paul Lavoisier clarifies statement on cancellation of series!

Fans have been abuzz today over how they intepreted the sentiments from John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) of One Life to Live, when he spoke with Soap Opera Digest to offer his sentiments on the ending of One Life to Live.  He has since clarified his original statement by offering this up below this afternoon.

JP’s updated statement:  “The point wasn’t to make anybody mad or anybody happy. The point was for everyone to interpret my comments in any way they want to, at least the last part of the quote. If you’re not happy with my quote, think of it sarcastically. And if you’re happy with my quote, take it literally. It’s a neutral quote that can be taken in either way. But the rest of the quote can be taken literally. Farah Fath, (Gigi) and I are going to L.A. We are going to pound the pavement and I was very blessed to have worked on the final nine years and seven months of a long-running, great show that has a great family. As an actor, it gave me fun stuff to do. The first day that Brian Frons became president of ABC, he could have fired me right off the bat. I spent every day working for ABC under the possibility that Brian could have fired me. So I do thank Brian for not firing me during his reign. I thank him every day that he never made the decision to fire me and I do thank him for bringing on Farah. But everyone needs to understand that you can’t bite the hand that feeds you. There is a lot of world left to live and a lot of jobs to still be had and you never know who’s going to become the president of what. I don’t want to burn future bridges with the professional people who will someday hire me for other jobs.”

Well, I certainly understand The Actors of OLTL, and AMC Taking the High Road. Absolutely, 100% class. It’s up to US, the viewers, to Tell the truth, and do whatever we need to do to , To STOP this insane idea,to cancel these Shows, that are watched by MILLIONS. It’s plain crazy. Money, THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. And Less money abc has to pay to produce a show, That’s what they will do…Put a CHEAP REALITY PROGRAM ON..it costs peanuts to do so. Why Pay Actors, writers, top dollar, when you can replace them with JERRY SPRINGER type people… Read more »

Don’t be too hard on JPL – Business is business and you never know where you may end up. The decision has been made and we should support AMC & OLTL till the end. Watching today’s episode of OLTL and it is just so sad that this great show will be over in nine months.

I wasn’t slagging him when I asked if it was sarcasm. though it did seem nicer than I’d have expected.

I get it, he’s right he can’t go off the rails at this guy. And as fans yeah were mad but as an actor if he was on primetime, this happens all the time. Things get canceled and you can’t call out powerful men and make an enemy. I wish him luck.

John-Paul, we get it. Frons is the pimp of ABC Daytime and you need to work. The need to work and earn money makes hoes out of most of us, and you are one pretty boy thinking about your future. I feel sorry that people like you have to kiss up to someone like him. I hope you were paid enough to make it worth it.

He SHOULD be thanking Frons for giving FF a job! She caused OLTL to lose tons of fans because nobody can stand her! He acting is a total joke, but then again, so is JPL! Maybe they can become a real life version of Popeye and Olive Oyl (the two characters they remind me of)! They are two of the worst actors I have ever seen, so they should be thanking Frons for giving them jobs, especially when 85% of the viewers were demanding that they be fired (especially in the case of FF)! So many “quality” actors/actresses lost their… Read more »

His acting wasn’t bad UNTIL that dude, Farah, came to the show. Wait, she’s not a dude? My bad. Her acting is horrendous. For personal reasons alone, I’m glad they lost their jobs-they did awful things to people in “real life”. Plus, what’s her freeloading sister going to do now?

He has every reason in the world to be thanking Brian Frons ……… he is Fronsie’s golfing buddy and Fronsie gave him everything he wanted, including a job for his little bimbo, Farah (which he readily admits in his statement)! I saw a lot of wonderful actors/actresses lose their jobs this past year while that sniveling little no-talent biotch FF kept her job. Rumor has it she even complained BIG TIME when Kish got airtime because it was taking time away from her. And Kish hardly ever had ANY airtime!! I will always believe that she and JPL caused some… Read more »

I totally understand every word you are saying John-Paul, and did the first time you said it. Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I would do exactly the same, that is the smart, professional road to take. I wish both you and Farah much success, and any soap would be brighter with both of you on it. I know I will see each of you on another soap again, and will be happy to support you. If it is GH, all the better. As fans, we can take another road, which is to do all we can to show… Read more »

And you may take that literally or sarcastically. Your acting sucks so I really don’t care.

Anne Heche in “Extremely Critical Condition”; Still in Coma Following Fiery Car Crash

Although earlier reports over the weekend had soap opera alum and Daytime Emmy-winner, Anne Heche (Ex-Vicky/Marley, Another World) in stable condition following crashing her car into a home, on Monday an update on her condition looked more grim.

According to a statement provided to Deadline by Heche’s rep: “At this time Anne is in extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”

Since last Friday, Heche has been hospitalized following a harrowing incident where she crashed her car which caught fire into a private home in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles.

In addition, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Annie Hernandez told City News Service that investigators obtained a warrant for a blood draw from Heche.

Over the last few days, a new episode of Heche’s podcast “Better Together” with her co-host Heather Duffy was released, which showed the actress slurring her speech.

Erroneous reports said that the podcast which dropped on Friday, was also recorded that day, and that Heche had been drinking prior to her accident during the show.  However, it has come to light that Heche taped that episode last Tuesday, not the day of the crash.

Share your thoughts and prayers for Anne as we continue to monitor and update the situation on the film and TV star, via the comment section below.

‘That’s A Wrap’ For Dynasty’s Elizabeth Gillies & Adam Huber As They Share Farewells

The fifth and final season of CW’s Dynasty is currently playing out with the series finale to air in the early fall.

However, filming on the show wrapped this past week for series star Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon) and her on-screen husband, Adam Huber (Liam).  Each of them took to their Instagrams to share heartfelt goodbyes and ‘thank you’s’ for the journey they traveled as part of the reboot of the classic ABC primetime soap opera with its own twist.

Photo: CW

Huber shared his thoughts, when he expressed: “That’s a wrap!! When I got the call in 2017 that I was going to be flying out to Atlanta to join the show DYNASTY for a few episodes I had no idea what it would turn into. 4 years of my life and 84 episodes later is what happened. I am beyond grateful for this show. This is the first time I’ve ever really been apart of something like this. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve cried a lot. And I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to anyone and everyone who was with me on this journey. Thank you to my friends and family for your non stop love and support. My manager and agents who are absolute rockstars. The crew that wakes up day after day working lonnnng hours so we can have a finished product. The writers, directors and producers for making this show the success that it is. The casting director for saying “I think I found our Liam” The entire cast for being so welcoming from the first day I stepped foot on set. The day players, extras, stand ins, all of you!!

And gigantic thank you to all the fans!!! Thank you for staying with us the whole time during this wild ride. Without you watching and binging on whatever platform you watch the show on, we would have not been able to bring you 5 seasons and 108 episodes of DYNASTY craziness. Thank you so much. From the bottom of my heart. This has been an experience I will never forget! 🖤Ps…new episode tonight!! I hope you enjoy the rest of the season! It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

Gillies, simply brought out her inner-Fallon with her Instagram post which said, “Every day, I take one man’s dirt and turn it into diamonds. And digging up insider info is even easier when they assume you work for the airline, instead of owning the plane. Bon Voyage, Fallon 🥂”

Elizabeth’s co-stars were quick to heap praise on the talented actress/singer/director (she directed the two most recent episodes of the series). Rafael de La Fuente who plays Sammy Jo, expressed: ‘What a gift for me to get to work with you for five years. Forever a fan, forever family.”

Pop superstar, Arianna Grande, a longtime friend, and Broadway co-star with Gillies in the musical 13, posted: “Oh my.congratulations, my Liz, on completing this massive and magnificent chapter with Fallon.  she is / you are utterly spectacular. !!!!!!!!! love youuu. sm.”

You can check out their farewell posts below.

So, sad to know that Liz and Adam have wrapped their run as the fifth and final season of Dynasty is coming to a close? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

UPDATED: TV and film star, and Another World alum, Anne Heche (Ex-Vicky/Marley) is in critical condition following a harrowing and fiery car crash in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.

“Anne is in the ICU, she’s lucky to be alive. She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash,” a source close to the actress revealed to CNN on Saturday morning.

According to reports and video obtained by TMZ, Heche was driving at lighting speed and crashed twice in a residential area of Mar Vista.  In the initial crash, Anne, who was driving a Mini Cooper slammed into the garage of an apartment complex. Heche is currently in a Los Angeles hospital, and had to be intubated following being severely burned.

Soaps fans know that Anne won a Daytime Emmy for her dual roles on Another World and played Vicky and Marley Hudson from 1987-2001.  She has also appeared in the films, Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights, Wag the Dog. and more.  On television, Heche has appeared in the last few years on: Dancing with the Stars, Quantico and Chicago P.D.
