Fans have been asking for this, and now they will finally get to see one of the those most beloved characters of all-time on General Hospital again, when Jackie Zeman returns in the role of Bobbie Spencer!
With Laura, Scotty, Luke and everyone else from the past on the canvas shortly, this is a perfect time for Nurse Bobbie to make an appearance. The big question is; will we finally get to see some more scenes between Bobbie and her daughter, Carly played by Laura Wright?
Zeman posted a message to her fans on her facebook page just an hour ago about her comeback stating: “Bobbie Spencer is coming back to GH soon. I am very happy to be invited and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead. Thank you so much to all of you for your good wishes and positive thoughts. xoxox”
So what do you think about the news of Jackie returning to GH? Let us know!

‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.
In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.
Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT
When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.
Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.
After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.
EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027
In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.
From everything we noted above, to the sheer brilliance of her work, Michael Fairman TV names Finola Hughes, this week’s Power Performance of the Week.
Now let us know, do you agree with our pick of Finola? Were you moved to tears during the gut-wrenching scenes? Should Finola include these scenes in an Emmy submission in 2027, should she decide to compete for Lead Actress gold? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

RATINGS: ‘General Hospital’ Shows Most Gains in Total Viewers Week-Over-Week and Up in Key Demo

The ratings are out for the week of August 24-28 for your favorite broadcast television soaps, and it was ABC’s General Hospital which added the most total viewers and planted itself firmly in third place in its battle with Beyond the Gates in the key demos of women 18-49 and 25-54.
According to Soap Opera Network, all daytime dramas were up year-over-year, and General Hospital was joined by The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful with gains in their total audience viewership, while Beyond the Gates was only slightly off pace for the ratings week.
Let’s take a look at what had viewers tuning-in, starting with General Hospital, who added +79,000 viewers. While still under the 2 million viewers mark (which they can hopefully return in the coming weeks) their overall tally was an average of 1, 935,000 tuning-in, while still up year-to-year +136,000.
GENERAL HOSPITAL
In addition, GH while actually down from the previous week in the 18-49 ratings share, they still out performed Beyond the Gates for third place. However, GH was firmly in third place for the 25-54 ratings share.
The stories that were featured for the week included: Anna’s (Finola Hughes) PTSD and struggle with painful memories tied to Cesar Faison, and her concocting a plan to get rid of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) recording Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) threatening her, and later running into a severe threat from Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) regarding Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting, and Drew enlisting Ava (Maura West) to gain leverage over Jack, which resulted in Ava drugging him, while Drew went snooping for the evidence Brennan had against him.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Y&R remained in the top spot amongst all the soaps once again with 3,062,000 tuning in, and up +35,000 for the week, while year-to-year still showing strong gains at +231,000 viewers. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
B&B is continuing to be inch closer to Y&R for the top spot, separated by a little more than 300,000 viewers. For the ratings week, the series posted a total audience of 2,719,000 adding +31,000 eyeballs overall, and like Y&R, is up year-to-year in its performance.
The CBS soap now , now in its 40th season is +217,000 from the same time last year. In the key demos, The Bold and the Beautiful was in the top spot for the women 18-49 ratings share and number two for women 25-54.
In story, the major threat to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Daphne’s (Murielle Hilaire) marriages continued as Steffy and Carter swore they would not tell their spouses that the two had a drunken hook-up. But as viewers know now, Steffy is pregnant!

BEYOND THE GATES
Beyond the Gates tallied an average of 1,611,000 total viewers for the week, up +72.000 year-over-year and down slightly in tune-in for the week losing just -36,000 viewers. The CBS soap came in fourth place in the key demos for the week behind General Hospital, with whom they are often trading places for the third spot.
In story, after Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) was released from the hospital, Hayley (Marquita Goings) stuck to her plan, doubling down on poisoning him and even getting caught in a major lie or meeting with Randy (Maurice P. Kerry), as Vernon (Clifton Davis) may be on to her machinations.
The ratings report is generated from Nielsen (Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel) for the week of August 24-28, 2026

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.
The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.
Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST
Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”
Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”
Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL
Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”
You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.
So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!

She should come back and have Bobbi in scenes with Carly. I also like to see her and Luke talk fond memories about their late Aunt Ruby. Also i hope the 50th anniversary pays tribute to the late John Bernidino(Steve Hardy)and the late Emily MCloughin
(Jessie Brewer) who were so much part of GH’s rich history.
Amen to that!!! I love that idea! I am so happy she is coming back. WOO-HOO!!
what Jim said. i totally agree
Agree!!!
I agree also. I miss all the characters that were on GH in 1970 when I started watching. I’m enjoying seeing some of them again. I can’t wait to see Bobby’s return.
I remember when Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame played on GH as Jessie Brewer’s nephew. It would have been a nice touch to the 50th anniversary show if they were to play tribute to Jessie(played by the late Emily) if they could get Mark to reprise his role of Jessie’s nephew for a least a couple scenes. It would be fun to see a few long forgotten characters that predate the Luke and Laura era for some of old geezers who fondly remember them.
Yes. I agree. John Beradino and Emily McLaughlin need to be recognized as they were on GH from Day 1.
IT WUD BE AWESOME
YAY! Another important veteran is returning! LOVE IT! Keep them coming, this is the best show has been in at least 15 years!!
Agree!
Great news and long overdue!
Great news! Alway’s liked Bobbie Spencer !! Are they all hers? Don’t rememeber being so volputous.
they look ‘new’
why why why ?
HAHAHAHAHA…She’s always been big busted but I never was sure if they real or not. I am looking forward to Bobbi/Carly, Bobbi/Felcia and Bobbi/Luke scenes!!
um yeah, they were always there that I remember! ha!
She was a Playboy Bunny at the Playboy Club in early 70’s… they had to fill out those costumes you know! 🙂
Ha Ha Maybe pushup. But they don’t look completely natural at any rate.
She has had WAAAY too much work done on her face & her chest. She didn’t need to do all that. Glad she is coming back though. I have always thought GH dropped the ball by not developing a relationship between her & Carly & Carly’s kids-along with Luke & his kids. I love the Spencers!
I remember Bobbie always being voluptuous. as she was a regular cast member on GH in the early 80’s She might have a push up on nonetheless, she’s a very striking woman.
Now GH is Complete…. Scotty and Bobbie….. YUM!
I have missed Bobbie and Carly scenes for so long! It was a big mistake for past regimes to write Bobbie off of the canvas. She was the one that grounded Carly, who always saw through Carly’s bs. Yes, Carly had Jason but I always missed Bobbie’s influence, especially when Carly ended her marriage to Jax. And her scenes with Luke were always poignant.
I have no idea why Bobbie has not been in PC. Are they going to tell us where she has been? She has grandchildren in town and her daughter needs her. I hope that her son Lucas comes home too.
Nice. I think GH treated her shabbily.
GH, if it continues to rebuild its core characters and legacy families, Port Charles could become like a real soap town again… like Oakdale (ATWT). Those connections, histories, and today’s issues befalling us from economy to social justice to war, make for good drama and creat the solid foundation for the sotrytelling we love so much.
Welcome home, Bobbie!
Nice!
Great news!!! Let’s get her in scenes with Luke and Carly for sure along with Scottie and Laura! Oh.. and Lucy and Michael too!
Yay!!! She definately needs to interact with Carly. Carly has no direction and focus. Maybe Mom can smack some sense into her.
Now I love it that GH is bringing back the vets. But I hope ABC isn’t setting us up for disappointment, waiting for Katie to establish more of a foot hold on the afternoon lineup (still overhyped!!).
great wondering where she went i missed when she left any one explain her departure and when . hope bobbie comes back and helps with the ball.
Love to have her back been watching the show for many years love all the history coming full circle
this is awsome news ! welcome back ! Glad to see so many are returning to the best soap out there. Thank you
Great i would love to see her and luke together again!
I love and miss the character of Bobbie Spencer. However I do not like what Jackie Zeman has done to her body and her face. It wasn’t necessary and makes her look like a clown.
Agree.
Good to see Bobbie back again. Sad to see she went overboard with plastic surgery.
Are all these vets coming back just for the 50th ann or will they be long term? Hoping for long term!!!!
Good to see bobby back again it will be like old times
i hope they don’t make it look like she’s been in town all this time, because if she has, then why hasn’t she been seen. no one ever said she moved? so i hope its explained.
This makes up for the ridiculous vampire storyline!
Never liked Bobby and instead of hiring these Seniors, how about hiring some young folks. The NB is bullshit.
Another storyline for Carly? Hmmm… No thanks. Let her have her own storyline.
And whatever you do, DON’T kill off the character. Like the way Alison returned just to be killed 2 episodes later.
Welcome home Bobbie. You’ve been missed.
this is great, now we need Sean and Tiffany, Blackie and Jackie, Jagger who would be a great hook up for Elizabeth. and Noah, wow this could be the party of the year.
Love it!
WTG GH! Do you realize how many of us baby boomers watched GH in the 70’s 80’s even into the 90’s before internet & work took over. We are coming back and so are you! Bringing back all those loved ones will help us pick up the show and start watching again during either over the internet or when we retire! Thank you for making this happen! GH ratings are going to shoot thru the roof again! Good job! Can’t wait to see them all back on the screen!
Yes!
So glad to see the real stars of GH.
Me too so glad to see all the real stars of GH return, now it’s getting good…
Absolutely!
Wow! Glad to see the actors from the past are coming back. Very nostalgic. Brings me back to my youth when I watched GH more regularly. Look forward to seeing them all. It is drawing me back to when times were better both on and off screen….
I have missed Bobbi big time.Love Jackie Zeman….so glad she’s coming back.
welcome back not to crazy bout the vampire scenerio tho
GH is going back to when I stopped watching. Soaps in my future aren’t looking to good. To many story lines in GH and all new cast for AMC. What’s next.
Excited to have her come back!
ABOUT DAMN TIME! GH treated her badly they need to make it right!
So looking forward to seeing “Bobbie” again! Now if only “Aunt Ruby” was back for a while…that would be complete the reunion!
You know Ruby died sometime ago ITL and on the show, right?
It is about time. She has definitely been missed. So great to see all the old favorites.
I am glad Bobbie Spencer is coming back to Gh.I am glad they are bringing slot of the old characters back
It;s about time! Great job GH!
its about time – they have already missed some many moments when Bobbi should have been there. glad to see someone finally realized what a gapping hole it was not to have Bobbi there…how many “conferences” does one person go on…
I think it’t great that Jackie Zeman is coming back!! It is so nice to see alot of the old characters come back on the show. I wish they would bring back Robin and Jason to.
Amen!!
This is how it should play out: Bobbie visits from Seattle where she has been living. Reuinites with Luke and Carly (in separate scenes) updates us on Lucas. He’s now a nurse as well working in Seattle. She must visit BJ and Tony (this is where we can find out about Lucas) at the cemetary and maybe bump into Felicia so they can reminisce about the BJ/Maxie heart transplant story. Bobbie will also have a run in with Laura who is also returning to discuss Amy, Laura’s sister who has since died offscreen. I’m mean who could forget hospital gossip Amy Vining? Especially since Amy was so important in the Nurse’s Ball as Lucy’s dresser. Shell Kepler deserves some kind of tribute. Bobbie also has alot of unfinished business with Monica. Monica’s grandson Jake died and saved the life of Bobbie’s granddaughter Joslyn. Both characters were not around when this lightning fast tale was told so they both need to talk about it.
Excellent ideas Martin. I would love to see all of this play out. And remember when Michael was in the coma, his blood grandmothers are Monica & Bobbie & neither one of them was at his bedside. They were not involved at all. It drove me crazy. They are so connected by history & family & this relationship has been totally ignored! I didn’t even THINK about the Jake/Joslyn connection. WOW.
Unfortunately this is how it will play out: Bobbie does a walk on in her own clothes and hospital badge at the hospital where it appears she has never left Port Charles at all and has always “been there.” She has two lines, her pager goes off and she says, “I have to take this” and exits stage left. Never to be seen again. I hate was GH has done to Bobbie Spencer.
Unfortunately, I think it will play out to be something like that. My thought was that she shows up for the Nurses Ball for hugs and smiles with other characters while saying a few lines, then she just magically poofs again into thin air never to be seen from, spoken about, or heard from again as she has been for years.
I want her back to say. She doesn’t have to be on everyday, but she NEEDS to be part of the hospital staff and to act like Carly’s mother. Michael needs a grandma. Well, so do Carly’s other kids except we haven’t seen them in around lately. (They need to recast that horrible actress playing Jocelyn. )
Welcome back, Jackie!
it about time Jackie zeman belongs on gh its her home gh and abc trated her badly now lets keep her on the show. not for ahand full of episodes its about time gh. lets bring sean and tiffany back along with holly Jackie and jaguar love the show again don’t disappoint me abc and gh
The damage from the evil witch of an executive producer that has moved to CBS, is being fixed. Welcome back Bobbie, please stay awhile. Your brother, daughter, grand children and niece needs you to stick around.
Yes Terry and the evil witch is already working her charms on my Y&R. Wish Bill Bell could rise from the grave and scratch her bald headed.
Fixed how, by bringing Bobby back, please. To do what?Who the hell needs another TPT Spencer? They have to damn many on GH now.
Really? And how many is that?
Would love to see Jackie come back, just hope she will not get that stupid looking botox that make people look like a puppet made from wood.
WELL its about time thank you
i think that is great i think carly needs her mom right now
I am looking forward to seeing all of the old cast again, it’s not the same without them,
I agree!!!
i have been waiting for years for her return welcome back bobbie
Perfect storyline: Bobbie comes back to sue her cosmetic surgeon.
Oh, I had to laugh at this! Sad but really funny.
I am so thrilled to see all of the wonderful characters I have loved and was saddened to see either fazed out or eliminated altogether. GH has such a rich history of wonderful characters, it’s great to see them all coming back. Especially Barbara Jean Spencer!
