Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso Returning to Days of our Lives as Bo and Hope
Bo and Hope will be back on your screens on Days of our Lives! After viewers were last left with an unsatisfying “reunion” when soap superstars Peter Reckell (B0) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope) last appeared in their iconic roles back in 2023, now it looks as their love story will finally move forward.
When they made their appearances in 2023, Bo was shot by his son Shawn in an effort to save his mother from his clutches. Hope, who was trying to get Bo to remember their lives together, after Bo was brainwashed after years in captivity and in a cryogenic state thanks to Megan Hathaway.
Now, with the show heading into its 60th anniversary, its only apropos to have Bo and Hope back to Salem and according to a report from TV Insider, Peter and Kristian are back this week taping all-new episodes of the series that will air in a special story arc come May of 2025.

Reckell shared on being back at the DAYS studio and in story, “This ride is one we know the fans are really going to love. Stay tuned!” Alfonso expressed, “These episodes with Pete will not disappoint.”

Before we get to 2025, Kristian Alfonso will be seen this December when she is back briefly for the episodes surrounding the death of her TV dad, Doug Williams and to honor the late great Bill Hayes. At that time, Reckell did not return as Bo for the storyline sequences.
So, are you glad to hear that Peter and Kristian are filming at DAYS and there is more to the story of Bope on the way next year? Comment below.
Best news ever
Yes so glad
OMG YES!!! These two are the best part of days of our lives in my opinion, I love all the ” OG” actors but Bo and Hope ie Peter and Kristin were and always will be my fav of all times,
The show fell so far behind what it was when they left and of course, the passing of some legend actors left a huge void also.
Finally! Hopefully this is the new writers’ first step in returning the show to its roots, and showcasing characters we actually care about. Enough with Killer Connie, faux Abigail and all the Body & Soul nonsense. Ron turned this show into a shell of what it once was, just like he did with GH before he was fired.
I think all the story lines have been great.
Nooooooo!!!!!!! They not return to DAYS anymore!!!!!
Why do you say no? They are an original power couple and are amazing. It would be great, to have them back.
We won’t see it until next year.
I’m home with COVID and this news just jump-started my recovery!!! BOPE 2025 here we come. I’m strapped in and ready for the ride. Hope (and Bo) it won’t be the last. These actors never disappoint. It’s perpetual lightning in a bottle. So keep writing for ‘em and we dedicated BOPERS will keep showing up! That’s a promise!
Very good news. One of the things I love about Days is all of the surprises with the return of the characters we love!
It’s about time!!
Always happy to have Bo and Hope in Salem, but I am weary of the short-term engagements actors and characters have on daytime these days. I miss consistent legacy characters in ongoing stories. And the resurrection trope. I almost would prefer them in a long coma. Yes, we love our favorite performers and characters but the design of serialized drama is having them present in meaningful ways. I don’t like mourning deaths to have course correction years later. Nor do I like sacrificing actors and characters for sake of story.
Yesss ! Finally!
I am thrilled for Bo and Hope to return. Just hope it’s permanent and not to end Days. I heard they were not renewed. Please tell me it’s not true! If there’s no Days if our lives I have no reason for Tv.
I’m very happy.
I’m more than glad! These two have been my favorite couple since they first appeared on Days! I know the storyline will eventually end, and they probably won’t stay for long, but I’m so glad to see them back where they belong! it’ll be a refreshing change of pace from the chaos the program currently is.
I hate to sound like the Grinch but not everyone likes to stroll down memory lane. Frankly it’s a downer because it reminds people of their youth and how little time they have left and how soaps were so good back in the day and how bad they are now. Bringing back Sami, Bo and Hope might sound good on paper but ultimately it weakens the show because the old time actors will eventually leave again, your storyline to bring them back never makes sense and their exits are always ill timed and silly. In the end your ratings decline because your existing cast and stories were put on the back burner to accommodate the past cast members and their oops I missed it stories. The show needs to concentrate on writing better material for it’s current cast and stop trying to recreate the glory years of the 80’s and 90’s.
Go with the flow and keep an open mind
This soap never dissapoints. I see your point but let’s see what happens. They must be doing something right for being on the to air all these years.
Very happy for their return. And I hope the story arc is worthy of their return.

As The World Turns
Scott Bryce, ‘As the World Turns’ Craig Montgomery, Passes Away at 68

UPDATED: Heartbreaking news to report this Sunday evening, July 13. Two-time Daytime Emmy nominee and beloved soap veteran and television actor Scott Bryce (ex-Craig Montgomery, As the World Turns) has died at the age of 68.
Lucie Arnaz Luckinbill, Bryce’s longtime friend and former co-star announced his death via her Facebook under an hour ago (in a post that has now been deleted, but see below). Arnaz expressed, “a wonderful actor, a beautiful man and a terrific husband and father, Scott Bryce, passed tonight. I am going to miss his eyes, his smile, his wit, his brain, his intelligence, his talent, his bravery, his laugh and his hugs. Dearest Jodi, dear Jackson, he’s watching over you now from a place of pure joy and will always be your guide. But, I hate these goodbyes. Rest in peace you marvelous, magnificent man”.
Previously, Bryce was diagnosed with Stage 3 esophageal and stomach cancer back in October of 2024. He had credited early detection as a vital part of his journey. He had underwent medical treatment and had since reported being “on the mend.”

SCOTT BRYCE’S RUN AS CRAIG MONTGOMERY WAS MEMORABLE
However, Lucie Arnaz shared on her Facebook post in the comment thread section when asked, that Scott’s cancer had returned. She has appeared in two projects with Bryce, the Indie film, The Pack and the TV series, Sons and Daughters.
Jackson Bryce, Scott’s beloved son, shared a beautiful tribute to his father after his passing on his Instagram where he shared that, “What began as stage three esophageal cancer eventually spread and became brain tumors that took his life away from him.”
Scott was the son of actor Ed Bryce, who was best-known for his role on the soaps as Bill Bauer on Guiding Light from 1959 to 1983. On As the World Turns, Scott had a significant run as Craig Montgomery, and at one point was initially paired on-screen with Meg Ryan (ex-Betsy Stewart). Bryce had appeared on the CBS soap opera from 1982–1991, 1993–1994, and 2007–2008.
AS THE WORLD TURNS CO-STAR PAYS TRIBUTE
On As the Word Turns, Scott’s on-screen romance was with Finn Carter, who played Sierra Esteban was a fan favorite for longtime viewers.
Carter expressed her grief on Instagram following the news of Bryce’s passing sharing, “My sadness knows no bounds. My gratitude for Scott knows even fewer. Scott was the best husband a woman could ask for. As an actor he was fearless, kind, generous and forever looking for ways to grow. And what a sense of humor! It is so difficult to write this as I can not stop crying . Scott , you were a gift that I did not deserve and one the world was freely given . All of my love to you – ah, just can’t stop crying. See you soon ( not too soon) and look forward to recalling our days on As The World Turns . You patiently taught me so much . XO”
It was during his initial run that Scott received two Daytime Emmy nominations for his performances as the manipulative Craig Montgomery. Bryce was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in both 1986 and 1987.
Bryce exited ATWT in February of 2008 and by December of that year, Jon Lindstrom, (Beyond the Gates, General Hospital) was brought in as the final Craig from 2008-2010 as the soap went off the air. Over the years, Hunt Block and Jeffrey Meek also played the role of Craig.
FROM OAKDALE TO PRIMETIME
In addition, Scott appeared in numerous episodic comedy and drama series throughout his career with roles in: Murphy Brown, The Facts of Life, ER, Law & Order, Reba and Sex and the City and Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, Homeland, 30 Rock to name but a few. On the soaps, Bryce also appeared on One Life to Live in the role of a psychiatrist, Dr. Ed Crosby, from 2006-2007.
Scott is survived by his wife Jodi Stevens and their son, Jackson.
Michael Fairman TV will bring you further updates on this developing story.
