President Obama Appoints Colleen Bell As Ambassador To Hungary!

Today, President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate several individuals to key Administration positions including to appoint Colleen Bell as the Ambassador to Hungary, Department of State!
In naming Bell, and several others to new posts, President Obama stated, “I am grateful these accomplished individuals have agreed to join this Administration, and I’m confident they will serve ably in these important roles. I look forward to working with them in the coming months and years.”
For those of us in the soap world, we know of Colleen’s work with The Bold and the Beautiful, and as one half of Bell power couple along with her husband, executive producer and head writer of B&B … Brad Bell!
In the official press release on President Obama’s appointees it says of Colleen: “Colleen Bradley Bell is a Producer for Bell-Phillip Television Productions, Inc., a position she has held since 2012. Prior to this position, Ms. Bell was the Director of Special Projects and an Associate Producer and Script Supervisor at Bell-Phillip Television. She served as General Trustee for the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from 2012 to 2013. Ms. Bell served as a Member of the Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from 2010 to 2012, and was designated Chairman of the Committee in 2011. Ms. Bell currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Children’s Institute, and a Trustee on the Boards of Directors of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Los Angeles Music Center. She is a founding member of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Leadership Council and also serves on the advisory board of the UCLA Rape Treatment Center. Ms. Bell received a B.A. from Sweet Briar College.”

What does an ambassador do? Will she move to Hungary? I guess giving parties for BO paid off.
I see a lot of art and charitable “board” type experience in the listing, but where is the political science, policy, diplomatic and Hungarian knowledge credentials? Perhaps she possesses these necessary qualities and they weren’t mentioned in this article, or is this another reward for left leaning political fundraisers?

These ambassadorships are fluff positions. They do nothing but have/go to parties and make nice with people. The President gives these positions away to people who give/raise a lot of money for them. So in that respect, she’s qualified 🙁
