Frankly, I’m more concerned about the start date for season two.

i am worried about new start date too.has anyone heard anything yet ?i just can’t go thru all the heartache again

No kidding I cried for 3 months after it was cancelled. I do know that AMC is starting production in Sept. I am sure OLTL will be soon. I emailed Jeff K because people are going crazy about this. I am hoping that he will email back. He has before to me.

They should be back in production from thier early hiatus by now,so,(depending on how many episodes they filmed, should they have enough)I’d say probably late fall/early winter, maybe not until the early part of 2014.

I agree. I hope Season 2 is On OWN.

I’m worried about this too. If they must do AMC and OLTL in seasons, I really wish they would alternate them so that we have a few months of OLTL, then a few months of AMC, back to OLTL and so on, that way we’d have one of the shows to keep us going all the time and people will remain interested and tuning in.

I just want to be able to watch on television and OWN is a good place for it. My mom isn’t computer literate and we watched AMC & OLTL since day 1. Even when we’re fighting about everything else, we could always safely talk our soaps. It has been great having safe topics again!

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Carlo Hesser.

fan favorite?

Definitely Carlo is a fan favorite. What about Allison Perkins? Is she a fan favorite?

I figured it would be Allison Perkins, don’t consider either one of them fan favorites tho’!! More like Victor, Todd, Jessica, John McBain, Joey, Kelly, Christian would be great – any of them but the criminals!

I’ve only seen him on YouTube and its the only villain I really haven’t seen.

I hope its Irene

I will defintely be watching OLTL on Monday Aug 19. I am interested in the new Ron Raines character with the new standout Corbin Bleu…but not sure who we will see in the finale. Could be Alison, Todd, John McBain or even Kevin? Who knows…I will be eager to see.

I am concerned about the writing for Robin Strasser as Dorian. This is a key role for OLTL. And as I understand it – she is not inclded in the finale other than her promenade with on Raines character.

Hope they wrap up the “symbol” notes and tattoos quickly. That has seemed silly. And it is the same silly symbol used in Dena Higley’s horrific Nighttime Hope storlyline on DAYS several years ago. Now we have Clint’s medicine tainted just as Hope was reacting to her “Ambien-like” meds. Too similar and that storyline was horrible.

Otherwise, I like the idea of stalwart Ron Raines spicing up the scene. Hoping for a second season of OLTL with better writing. Disappointed that the great Thom Racina was not better utilized.

As usual, I have hope and trepidation – more for Prospect Park and Jeff K than the denizens of Llanview.

yep i will b watching right when they are uploaded like usual- Sunday nite/Monday moring is when I only get 2 hrs of sleep cuz I cant wait 2 see the new episodes of OLTL.
So i guess after next week I will get a little more sleep for a while, since they havent even started filming the new episodes yet.

But I will wait anxioulsy ( and impatienltly – lol) for them to come back.

i have a feeling one life to live will be cancelled yet again. one life to live and all my children. what bs season 2. the soaps started on april 30 2013. season 2 does not make sence at all. im very disappointed with the new one life to live. i thought it would be way better. but its picking up now. too late i smell cancellation yet again. all my children is doing better than i expected. but still dont see the 2 soaps survive at all. i love days of our lives and general hospital right now. both soaps are on fire.

I disagree with you big time – GH sucks and only soap worth watching is OLTL. That’s why there are more than 1 soap, not all of us like the same ones.

GH is getting good again…imo

OLTL will be back. I am 100% positive. JMO I love GH more than anything but all of the shows are really good.

Yeah me too – Keep your negative thoughts to yourself Rocco – A lot of us LOVE One Life & AMC!!!!

I don’t think Rocco is being negative – just realistic. Facts are that they have NOT started filming season 2 yet and NO season 2 start date has been announced. I have a feeling an announcement of sorts will be coming by the end of the month. I just hope it doesn’t end with a bigger cliffhanger than the first time it went off the air because if it is cancelled, it won’t be coming back.

I can’t wait. OLTL is on fire!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, I’m hoping the fan favorite who returns in a big way is Victor. (Unfortunately, not likely.)

I’m so looking forward to season 2. I hope we don’t have to wait too long.

I hope Own picks up Season 2 and we don’t have to wait til Late Fall, early winter or 2014! Thats ridiculous!!!

Whomever they are ”so stunned to see that their jaws have dropped.
would not be Tad, they are in contact with him..
hmm I feel it will be a loved ”psychiatrist”
or
It will be a villiness person from the past to give us shock and a suspenseful story..

Tad is on AMC this is the OLTL finale you have your shows mixed up

How can it be Tad? He’s on AMC. I hope we don’t have to wait to long for season 2 and even though the half hour really stinks with these shows, it’s better then nothing.

LOL!! ohhh my gawd.. I went brain dead!!
I know that.. Tad is AMC.. oooppps!!!

(dontcha hate when that happens lol)

News Flash it is Brian Frons! Sorry could not help myself!!!

lmao…sounds like something i wouldve said…

Such negativity on these boards. Would you have rather not had OLTL back at all? Seriously, cut the whining and the nastiness. If I was tossing millions of dollars into the revival of this soap, I might have had second thoughts with some of the self-entitled armchair quarterbacks. No matter what PP does, in the eyes of some, they will never win.

It’s not a question of that. They have changed their story to fans every single time. Nothing that they have said in terms of programming has been true. To run a soap, they have to have actual sources of revenue and they have to keep their viewership strong.
Had they said on day 1, “We will have an hour of programming a week for 13 weeks” I think people would be more understanding. Instead, with every new press release, they explain how they will have less and less programming.
If I were an actor, I also would not be encouraged to work on this show because you have so little certainty when you have to be available.
You have to be honest with your audience. Mad Men told us 7 years ago we’d get about 13 episodes a year, they have stuck with that. OLTL and AMC promised something like 120 episodes a year, we will get like 48 or so. It is not encouraging.

On-Line soaps are new and as such they have a lot of tweaking that needs to be done. Please stick with OLTL & AMC thru all these trials. PP are trying to make improvements with everyones feedback!

It’s up to them to change their business model, and they don’t have to apologize to anyone for that. If something isn’t working, they have the right to tweak that business model.

I’m just happy they’re back. I could watch Florencia and Erika do table reads of the script and I’d be happy.

Since you asked, I would rather have it end than watch the shallow sporadic version we have now. PP first promised 5 hours a week. Now it’s down to 1 and will there be weeks with no new shows. OLTL doesn’t even look like the same show. Has anyone at PP even watched enough old episodes to know what Llanview looks like or what went on there? Maybe they should and make some changes. Here’s the best feedback to fix things, All PP has to do is copy the old show and go from there, not try to make everything new.

If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. You have other things to do with your life, I’m sure.

I expressed my opinion and now some people are telling me what to do. Everyone should be free express their opinion, or ideas which might help the show in a positive way, without being attacked. Apparently some people think if I don’t agree with them I should just be quite and go away. Perhaps these people should be in politics. 😉

It sucks that the shows are taking a break for the next season. I can understand if it’s for budget, but what if people don’t come back after the break? PP made it sound like in the beginning that they would constantly be on, but that was also when they had 4 episodes instead of 2!

I love watching oltl
on huhu
it is the best soap
I ever watched
I started it with my grandmom
and never stoped
season 2 will be on huhu soon peg

Please get us atleast 3 epis a week. You are on fire!

I don’t get the season approach. In 20 years I never heard of soaps having seasons like primetime shows. If this week is the end of season 1, when was PP going to end it when they aired 4 episodes a week? Was 2 episodes always the plan? Will season 2 start the following week or will there be weeks with no new shows? Didn’t they say they had enough already done? Also, it doesn’t feel the same as the old show. The veteran actors are great, you can see how really good they are because they are carrying the show. But IMO there are too many new actors and situations and all the sets are different to feel familiar. I’d like to see Rodie’s, Angel Square, and the other old haunts. There are no other cops outside Bo’s office like before. They might mention characters not on the show now like Jessica or Star occasionally. Maybe these are small things, but with the faster pace and fewer episodes it makes it seem too shallow now. I was a fan for years and will continue to support the show, but with too many changes and too few episodes, I have just lost interest.

@Keith…I said expressed almost the exact sentiments on the post about “Alison” brother…can’t remember the acto’s name.

The characters still don’t “feel” the same, characters not back are not mentioned, Angel Square and familiar haunts not there…Llanview still feels like a “ghost town” of its former self.

I too will continue to watch in the hope that with steady viewershp, steady budget, better writing, they can add more of the familiar and get the original characters back to their former “selves.”

and to fix the typos on my post…(why don’t these boxes have an edit feature, LOL!)

delete “said”, Alison’s, actor’s…

(ol’ English major here… :/ )

There is no indication of when season 2 will start. Most likely AMC has to do its stuff first so we are talking about a November re-launch at the latest. These long hiatuses do not bring in viewers.

I REALLY want Todd back! This soap just isn’t the same without him. I think that Todd and Blair have more chemistry than Luke and Laura and we, as the fans, deserve to see them happy together for a length of time. They have finally “Grown up” and realized what true love is all about. Let’s see some sparks fly (in bed)between them!

AGREED and think Todd will be back as part of the tattoo story arc when RH has free time off from GH. They couldnt have made it clearer in RH last episodes he would be back(mentioning it every minute the SONG ETC) . It IS nice to see some “grown up love” between todd and blair they have WAY WAY more chemistry then Luke and Laura seeing them work together and happy would make this fan VERY happy!

I can’t imagine why the ladies have their jaws dropped unless Clint and Bo are having a real down home fist fight Asa style or maybe Dorian and Rama are having an altercation because of David.
I don’t like the wait for season 2 but I CAN wait but please don’t make it too long. I have watched OLTL since Act 1, Scene 1 and I have no plans of stopping now. My wish is that #1 – Season 2 starts soon and PP tells us when it is (I don’t care if it is on Hulu, iTunes, Own, I’ll watch), #2 – we have either more episodes or longer ones, #3 we keep getting old characters back to make the show better and better and #4 – Todd comes back. Go OLTL…love you.

Great picture! I cannot wait to see these episodes. I am also getting anxious as we have not heard about Season 2. Michael, have the All My Children actors returned to CT to start filming? I thought it had been said that they were supposed to return in August? That might give us a clue about the next season.

I am much more concerned about when the actors can get back to work. Julia Barr slipped on Michael’s program and told her fellow actors, “See you in September”. This means that OLTL can come back in October at the earliest and launch in November. But TOLN has never told us the truth EVER. First it was switching to 2 eps a week, then they disappointed fans in Canada losing FX Canada, then there was the union dispute, so OLTL only got 1/2 of a second shoot. Then they said if the dispute was ressolved, there would be no interruption in programming. Now they have come up with this “season” idea but give no sign when the new season will start. Changing like this all the time is no way to get viewers. And OWN would be more interested if they can have more of a regular schedule to broadcast the shows. Love how the show has been done, especially lately, do NOT love Prospect Park’s mismanagement and constantly being untruthful to viewers.

I suggest you get/buy your own soap opera and run it the way you’d like it to be.
You do not own the soaps , PP has the right to do whateverinhell with the soaps that see fit to do..
what PP has done is give us our soaps back and they fought every obstetrical to bring the soaps back and you are getting 2 great soaps FREE ..
….. stop complaining.. 🙂

Well you’re certainly right about one thing – “PP has the right to do whateverinhell with the soaps that they see fit to do” since ALL MY CHILDREN vaguely resembles what it used to be and ONE LIFE TO LIVE and the town of Landview seems oddly populated. As for “getting 2 soaps free” personally, I pay for Hulu Plus, and I pay a considerable amount for the Internet. I think it’s nice that both shows are back and I watch them faithfully but Fans have every right in the world to make observations but pro and con and that’s that.

I love OLTL it is my favorite of all the soaps I watch and I am dissappionted that it has to end for the season. I hope next season is not far off.

I will be watching and can’t wait to see what happens. I am hoping that the wait for season two is not that long. I wish the absence of Jessica in town would be addressed as she was a major character in The Lord family’s. history and Natalie’s sister. Vicki has not even mentioned her daughters name. That kind of bothers me.

Jessica was mentioned briefly by Viki, when Clint was trying to get Viki to elope and fly to Paris.

Oltl started out slow but i hung in there and it got better and better. Without my soaps will cancel my hulu subcription on the spot.

I am completely disappointed with PP. I was so excited to know my show was going to continue but they let us down constantly. The writing was centered around to many people new to the show and people like Tea have no one. Apparently neither Todd planned to stay with the show so instead of spending the entire season letting Tea and Blair hung up on these two guys they should have brought in long term love interest for them. There is no way Roger is coming back. He isn’t going to give up the money he is making with GH to go back to New York to work one maybe two days a week part of the year. If PP is even returnning at all I have a feeling when contracts come up everyone on this show is going to be gone. Some months go by when Natalie is only on the show 4 days a month. She is a great actress and so beautiful. How likely is it she is going to stay with a show that is barely using her? This company is obviously struggling and they aren’t leveling with any of the fans. Now that Tea and Blair have no one and Clint and Vickie are broken up and the seriously dumb storyline the stuck Robin Strasser with I doubt I will be tuning it if and when it comes back. I have watched this show from day one and hate to lose it but it really isn’t the show I knew.

PP is doing great..
The soaps are blockbusters on HuLu and iTunes and that has put a huge amount money in PP pockets..
Our soaps are very solid and have a great future..

Some simply are not familiar with the way shows are run on the internet and expect the soaps to be scheduled and run as they were on network tv, and for some reason they continue to compare network soaps with the now internet soaps, they are not near being the same as was, they are produced and scheduled for the internet..
PP has two hits on the internet , and the soaps and PP are doing very well, be happy, the soaps will be us a very long time.. 🙂
OLTL and AMC are not going to be as they once were..

I think have become better 🙂

I think it is the biggest villain in OLTL’s history…

…Mitch Lawrence and he has Jessica with him!

That would explain the look of horror on Viki, Nora and Blair’s faces and the return of a fan favorite.

If Victor can be brought back from the dead, why can’t Mitch. There is the Allison connection after all.

Mitch cant return…he went to Hell in the shows final weeks but maybe he has a lookalike…i was hoping it was Irene…Victor coming back can easily be explained.

My concern is when Season 2 will start!!! Does anyone know!

I have to agree with everyone, I hope that the Hiatus isn’t very long. I’ve been watching since day one and I love Todd and Blair. I started watching GH because Roger H. was on and so was Starr. I really wish that Todd would be back on OLTL.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

Today’s Monday, July 13 episode of General Hospital marks it 16,000 episode to air on the ABC television network. It is a remarkable milestone. The previous television record was held by Guiding Light which clocked in at 15,762 episodes before it went off the air on CBS in 2009.

To mark the occasion, the cast, crew and creative team of General Hospital celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony on the Prospect Studios lot in Los Angeles back on Monday, June 1, 2026.

In addition, GH has released a new cast photo taken the day of the on set celebration. Pictured in the photo are front row: Rory Gibson, Finn Carr, Kayden Brenna Tokarski, Asher Antonyzyn, Giovanni Mazza, Braedyn Bruner, Dean Geyer and Nathan Dean.

It’s a milestone we couldn’t let pass by without taking some time to celebrate as a family (and, of course… eating some cake). 🍰 We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE 16,000th Episode?

The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’

GENERAL HOSPITAL HOLDS SEVERAL RECORDS

Now in its 64th year, Emmy Award-winning daytime drama General Hospital is currently both the longest-running scripted American drama and the longest-running American soap opera currently in production.

General Hospital holds the record for the most Outstanding Daytime Drama award wins, taking home the prestigious Daytime Emmy Award a record 18 times. Will they do it again and make it 19 in 2026? Stay tuned for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy nominations tomorrow on Tuesday, July 14 to find out if GH will be going for gold in the category, once again.

The ABC daytime drama series was created by Frank and Doris Hursley and premiered back on April 1, 1963. Frank Valentini is the current executive producer with Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten are the show’s co-head writers.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams on Hulu.

What do you think of the new cast photo marking General Hospital’s 16000th episode? What do you think of the accomplishment to have that many episodes of a television show and its still thriving and kicking? Share your thoughts and congrats for everyone in front of the camera and behind the scenes on this milestone airing.
