RATINGS: ‘Beyond the Gates’ and ‘General Hospital’ Score Highest Weekly Viewer Increase
The latest ratings are out and all four network daytime dramas increased in viewership for the week of June 8-12, 2026. However, it was CBS’ Beyond the Gates on the strength of cast members of Y&R coming to Fairmont Crest and the storyline where everyone gets caught up in a tornado and trapped with others that showed the biggest viewer increase.
Beyond the Gates was closely followed by ABC’s General Hospital, who also added significant viewership for the week.
Let’s take a look at the numbers from Soap Opera Network and what went down on your favorite soaps that had viewers tuning-in.
BEYOND THE GATES
First, Beyond the Gates averaged 1,796,000 million viewers for the week, with an increase of +162,000 from the previous week which is up year to year at this time +248,000.
The highly-publicized Y&R and BTG crossover event kicked off on the Tuesday, June 9 episode of Beyond the Gates where six residents of Genoa City came to to visit the D.C./Maryland country club for a fundraiser for Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon). However,  no one expected a twister to tear into the proceedings, leading to several storylines intersecting as people were trapped with one another with Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) being the most severely injured and requiring a life-saving liver transplant.
With the strength of the story, its special effects, and bringing over cast of the top-rated, The Young and the Restless which included: Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins), Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) and Bryton James (Devon Hamilton), the youngest soap opera on the block was able to intrigue viewers.
In addition, fans wanted to know would happen next especially after Beyond the Gates, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) had sex in a an elevator while trapped in the tornado, while Bill’s wife, Hayley (Marquita Goings) was making out with Kyle Abbott in a closet!
GENERAL HOSPITAL
Over at General Hospital, the ABC soap averaged just under 2 million viewers (1,991,000) for the week, but brought in +111,00 since the previous week, and was up year-to-year +47,000.
In story, the PCPD sting operation against Sidwell (Carlo Rota) resulted in a shocking turn events after Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) risked his life to bring him down. Sidwell shot Lucas three times, but Lucas survived thanks to a bulletproof vest. When Sidwell was taken into custody by “Nathan,” (Ryan Paevey), he eventually escaped thanks to “Nathan” (aka Cassius), who at the time was working with him.
Elsewhere, Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia’s (Brook Kerr) peace pact imploded at Portia’s baby shower, and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) found herself cornered by Jack (Chis McKenna) who used Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) secrets as leverage against her, and more.
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Over at The Young and the Restless, the top-rated soap still had the most total viewers tuning-in with an average of 3,105,000. That is up week-to-week by+50,000 and way up year-to-year by +250.000.
During the ratings week, Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) returned after his successful surgery to reunite with his family and his newfound son, Holden (Nathan Owens). Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) health took a turn for the worse as her headaches became intolerable, the new Genoa City Shadow Room opened, and the Newmans grappled what to do and feel about this amnesiac version of Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
Finally at The Bold and the Beautiful, the CBS soap averaged 2,738,000 viewers for the ratings period, while adding +37,000 week to week and +199,000 year over year.
In story, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Katie (Heather Tom) reached a tension-filled truce that Katie would not poach anyone else from Forrester Creations for her new fashion house Logan, while secretly having Hope (Annika Noelle) and Deke (Harrison Cone) already line-up as her designers. Will (Crew Morrow) struggled with keeping this secret from his girlfriend, Electra (Laneya Grace).
The ratings are sourced from the Nielsen (Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel).

THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! Beyond the Gates is on fire and is unstoppable! Best soap on American daytime television. Thank you, Michele Val Jean and Sheila Ducksworth for bringing back the true art of the American daytime soap opera.
BTG isn’t going to keep the ratings like this. They spend a week on a Y&R crossover. Then the next week is all about a liver transplant. Then the week after that, they go to reruns.
Makes it a little hard to keep the numbers up that way Hoping they come back from the break and just kind of “time jump” through the missing week, and everybody’s moving on from the big storm and the transplant, and all that.
Now on the other horn, If GH’s numbers were on the way up before the John Oliver appearance, then I imagine they will climb even higher when the numbers from this past week are counted. And of course Jason returns next week, so hopefully now that the whole thing with the Legion of Dumb & “Faison’s Freaky Final Fusion Fiasco” seems to be wrapping up, they will pick up a new storyline to keep the mortals watching. And more appearances of “Hallucination Heiny” are NOT the way to do that, BTW. Nobody asked for that!
This is not their first week of repeats, and they’ve maintained their demos/ratings just fine.
GH was so good this past week. I hope long-time fans start tuning back in to the show. So many great stories and actors. Plus, we get to see the beginning of Ava and Ethan.
I watch all, but beyond the gates. Gonna start on that one too.
BTG is the greatest of them all so far. I watch all of them.
I don’t understand why daytime soaps needs three weeks to release their ratings. We know primetime tv ratings are released the following week. Football ratings are known the next day. I remember when Today and Good Morning America were in hot competition during the 90s their ratings were released the following week so it isn’t a technology thing caused because these shows come on every day. It just shows the lack of respect given to daytime and the soap genre. Soaps in the streaming age are only going to get more valuable. So the failure of the rating system to keep up with the times is maddening.
Next week on the Friday, November 13 episode of Beyond the Gates, Yvette Nicole Brown and her real life husband Anthony Davis guest star. In story, Brown takes on the role of Temeka the cousin to Shanice (Ernestine Johnson Morrison).
When Temeka comes to Fairmont Crest she will be accompanied by her husband, Tony, played by real-life hubby Anthony Davis. The castings come as the soap opera continues to expand the family of Shanice. Previously, we met her brothers, Cedric and Lamont.
As Shanice gets ready to head down the aisle with Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) will the presence of Shanice’s family members actually deter the nuptials from ever taking place?

This now makes the third daytime drama appearance by Yvette Nicole Brown. She first popped up on The Young and the Restless in 2016 and 2017 as reporter Lois Thompson.
Then in 2023, she played a nurse on General Hospital when she appeared in the March 29, 2023 episode honoring her real-life friend, Sonya Eddy who past away in real-life in December of 2022, The soap honored her in death when her character, Epiphany died.

Brown and Eddy first met in 2003 while testing for an ABC pilot titled “The Four Divas” alongside Octavia Spencer and Carla Renata and became very close friends up until Eddy’s passing.
It was actually Brown’s character, who came forth to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and shared that Epiphany died saving her life which gave some sort of solace to Elizabeth; knowing Epiphany died doing what she loved, helping people.
As for Anthony Davis, not only is he an actor, but a writer and minister known for TV and film roles including: He Wasn’t Man Enough (2025), The Family Business: New Orleans, and The Upshaws. Â
Brown is also recognized from her roles on: Community, The Odd Couple, The Mayor, That ’70s Show, The Office, Boston Legal, Chuck, Mom, Big Shot to name but a few.

Y&R’s Bryton James and Christel Khalil Crossover to ‘Beyond the Gates’ (Sneak Peek)
CBS and Beyond the Gates have released some teaser photos and video preview for tomorrow’s Wednesday, November 4 appearance of The Young and the Restless’ Bryton James and Christel Khalil as Devon and Lily Winters visit Fairmont Crest.
In the special episode, Anita Dupree (newly crowned Lead Actress Daytime Emmy Award winner Tamara Tunie) and The Articulettes return to the studio to record an EP, with Devon’s help.
On Devon’s trip to the DMV area, he is accompanied by his sister Lily, who turns out to be a longtime fan of the singing group. The episode marks the third appearance by James and the first by Khalil on Beyond the Gates.

In story, as the Articulettes record their new tracks, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) is there too, who’s mother Barbara Mitchell was the original Articulette and tragically ended her own life over feeling shoved out of the group.
Bonita Brisker and Marcia Howell return for the episodes as Sharon and Tracy and perform song along with the Tamara Tunie as the Anita the lead singer of the fictional famous singing trio.

BEYOND THE GATES MAKING HISTORY
Beyond the Gates picked up its first four Daytime Emmy Awards in its history, last Friday night, October 30 at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
The series took home the gold for the aforementioned Lead Actress category by Tamara Tunie, plus Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series: Ambyr Michelle (Eva Thomas), Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup for a Daytime Program, where the hair and makeup team tied with The Kelly Clarkson Show, and for Lighting Direction for a Daytime Program.
Created by head writer Michele Val Jean, and executive producerd by Val Jean, Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thomson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Anna Saalfeld and Lela Coffey, the series airs weekdays on CBS (2:00-3:00 PM, ET/1:00-2:00 PM, PT) and streams on Paramount+.

The 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet arrivals featured many a leading man from your favorite soaps, plus the younger stars and veteran actors you’ve come to love.
The gents were definitely about the bowties this year, plus fashion-forward trends, classic suit and tux looks, or sport jacket and no tie. There were a myriad of fashion choices on display from the one thing the soaps are usually known for, ‘hot’ guys.
This year for the first time the red carpet featured the cast of Beyond the Gates who were eligible for Daytime Emmy competition for the first time in their young history, bringing fresh faces and new vibes to the festivities.
LEADING MEN, VETERAN STARS AND NEWCOMERS STRIKE A POSE
Many of this year’s nominees who went on to become eventual winners, previous Emmy winners, and more, took to the carpet to strike a pose for the paparazzi in attendance.
Some of the standout looks came from (pictured above): Steve Burton (Jason Morgan, General Hospital) in traditional black tux with a sheen, Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton, The Bold and the Beautiful), Giovanni Mazza (Gio Palmieri), Jibre Hordges (Jacob Hawthorne, Beyond the Gates) and Michael Graziadei (Daniel Romalotti, The Young and the Restless), all wearing tuxes, suits or sportcoat and trousers with a bowtie, plus now two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Roger Howarth (Matt Clark, The Young and the Restless) who gave us that stellar jacket and more relaxed vibe for the carpet.
