RATINGS: The Dupree Women Dance and ‘Beyond the Gates’ Scores Season Highs In Key Demos and Up in Total Viewers
The ratings are out for the week of February 23-27, 2026 and it was a good one for CBS daytime’s newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates led by Anita Dupree’s (Tamara Tunie) visit with CBS Mornings Gayle King (in a guest appearance), to openly discuss her triple-negative breast cancer diagnosis in conjunction with the Know Your Lemons Foundation.
The week also marked the one-year anniversary of the soap opera, which premiered back on February 23, 2025 as the first new soap opera on broadcast television in over 25 years. According to data compiled by Soap Opera Network, Beyond the Gates set a new season 2 high in the key Women’s demos 18-49 and 25-54.
In addition, Beyond the Gates toppled its time slot competitor in some markets, General Hospital, in both demos, and came in with its third largest audience in total viewers with 1.781 million tuning in, although down slightly year-to-year.

Meanwhile, Beyond the Gates cast members continue to be the most active on social media of all the network soap operas, and in a new dance ditty that came out on Friday, March 6, to the Bruno Mars single, I Just Might, the Dupree women of the series including: matriarch Tamara Tunie and her two on-screen daughters Daphnee Duplaix (Nicole) and Karla Mosley (Dani) shared via Instagram, Tunie kicking up her heels!
Daphnee Duplaix expressed, “When Tamara Tunie graces the dance floor, you move over and let the queen take the lead! Another week, another reason to love this cast.”
For the rest of the soaps: while General Hospital was slightly down in total viewers for the ratings period, it scored over two million viewers for the eighth time in nine weeks with 2.178 million eyeballs. The ratings week featured: Maxie (Kirsten Storms) reuniting with Nathan (Ryan Paevey) for the first time in 7 years, but choosing to stay in her relationship with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) being sworn in as the new congresswomen taking her husband Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) congressional seat.
At The Bold and the Beautiful, they scored big! The series bested all network broadcast soap operas in the key Women 18-49 demo at number one, while it, and sister soap The Young and the Restless, continued to be in the top two spots in total viewers, with Y&R at number one with 3.358 million and B&B with 2.925 million. It should be noted that for Y&R, it hit over the three million total viewer mark for the fifth week in a row.

This is what I am talking about!! We love season highs; Beyond the Gates has been performing so well in demos and ratings, especially against what The Talk pulled during its final year. The current performance is a great sign of things to come and for another pickup of their four-year deal. Hopefully those final two years are selected.
I also love seeing how genuine the actors appear on social media with each other. You can tell that the set is filled with love. I love that. Keep up the OUTSTANDING work!
GH and BTG air at different times in many of the nation’s top tv markets. Let’s stop referring to them as “time-slot competitors”.
With just 4 broadcast daytime dramas, there’s room for each to succeed.
In the Philadelphia market, for example, BTG airs at 2 pm. GH at 3 pm. There’s room for everyone!
Love me some General Hospital and Bold and Beautiful
Stop patting Y&R on the back. Year to year, they are down 31% in the 18-49 demo, finishing 7th in all daytime programming, they are down 21% in the 25-54 demo (meanwhile TPIR and LMAD are both up year to year.) Y&R got viewers (as did all daytime shows) from an East Coast snow storm.
Woke drivel beyond is so boring it’s painful to watch the acting is terrible no no no I was bitterly disappointed I liked Karla mosley and Tamara but they are too talented for this mess. the blonde girl can’t act either.

‘Beyond the Gates’ Tamara Tunie Shares Bittersweet Moment of Learning She’s a Daytime Emmy Nominee Following the Loss of ATWT’s Scott Bryce

As many are celebrating their nominations for the upcoming 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on October 30, for some it was a “mixed bag of emotions,” as detailed by first time nominee Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree, Beyond the Gates), who was named as one of the five women in the coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress category.
The Lead Actress nominations were actually announced on Monday on Entertainment Tonight, ahead of the full nomination announcement by NATAS on Tuesday. Sadly, on Sunday night, Tamara’s longtime friend, and former As the World Turns co-stars, Scott Bryce (ex-Craig Montgomery) passed away from cancer at 68-years-old.
Michael Fairman TV first reported the heartbreaking news of Scott’s death, and his beloved son, Jackson took to his Instagram to announce the death of his father, sharing, “What began as stage three esophageal cancer eventually spread and became brain tumors that took his life away from him.”

THE LOSS OF ‘AS THE WORLD TURNS’ CO-STAR
Tamara spoke on receiving the recognition from peers while mourning the loss and trying to process the news of Bryce’s death via heartfelt message on her Instagram on Wednesday. Tunie had appeared on As the World Turns as Jessica Griffin from 1986-1995, 1999-2007 and 2009. She crossed paths with Bryce during several of his runs on the show 1982-1987, 1988-89, 1990, 1993-94 and 2007-08.
In her video message, Tunie explained she was at the airport in Atlanta (where Beyond the Gates is taped) and was heading to Pittsburgh for a speaking engagement, but she took a few moments to address these two moments in her life.
Tamara began her video with, “Hey family. I didn’t want to let any more time go by without expressing some of the emotions I had been feeling over the past couple of days. Many of you know that a dear friend of mine passed Sunday night. He was like a brother to me. We were friends for 40 something years and we actually met on the set of As the World Turns, a daytime drama. Monday, a mere 24 hours later, it was announced that I was nominated for an Emmy award for Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama.”
Sharing how the loss of Scott Bryce has deeply-affected her, Tamara added, “So, you can only imagine the rollercoaster of emotions that I have been feeling since Sunday night. I know my daytime soap opera brother is smiling down on me and cheering me on, and I am so grateful for this recognition from my peers. Being nominated for the first time it’s a mixed bag of feelings I have to tell you.”

BEYOND THE GATES FAMILY SCORES BIG IN EMMY NOMINATIONS
However, Tamara took some moments to recognize Beyond the Gates Emmy nomination haul, expressing, “I’m looking forward to the next couple of months leading up to the awards as we continue to create great television. I am so proud of the rest of my cast members, not only those who are nominated, but every single person who works on this show and gives a hundred percent of themselves every single time they show up. Our crew, our production staff, the Beyond the Gates family is truly special.”
“To have these 15 nominations is really extraordinary. Thank you family for watching. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for supporting me,” concluded Tunie.
You can check out Tamara’s emotional video message below.
