What happens when two attractive young people – an unemployed business analyst and a budding comic-book artist – unknowingly rent the same apartment, the only one that each can afford? They reluctantly decide to move in together, and that’s when the sparks fly as opposite worlds collide, in Room 8, the new online series debuting today at Room8TheSeries.com.

Now, The Bold and the Beautiful fans can watch the fictional characters’ work come to life in this first-of-its kind extension for a daytime television soap opera.  As fans know, Lawrence Saint-Victor plays Carter on B&B playing “Lance” on the web series set in on the CBS storyline and Karla Mosley plays Maya on B&B who is playing the role of “Scarlett” in Room 8!

Now, Room 8 follows the comical journey of “Lance Moore” (Lawrence Saint Victor) and “Scarlett Howard” (Karla Mosley) who decide to swallow their pride and make a go of it together in the one and only unit each can afford in the big city.  In Room 8,  “Scarlett,” is a suburban Seattle high-school valedictorian who graduated from Purdue University. “Lance,” is a Brooklyn native who had his pick of playing football for any number of colleges but decided to move to L.A. to pursue his dream of becoming a comic-book artist. Mosley and Saint-Victor, the actors behind Maya/Scarlett and Carter/Lance, wrote and produced all eight episodes.   Rounding out the cast of Room 8 are Sean Whalen as “Randy the Landlord,” Deborah S. Craig as “Missy,” and Ross Kiddor as “Dex.”

Watch the first two episodes of Room 8 after the jump, and let us know what you thought of it?

So far, Ep1 is way better than The Stafford Project! Really looking forward to Tainted Dreams, though.

Lawrence Saint-Victor was so funny trying to be so macho and funny is what I need right now. Wish the episodes were a little longer though. Hope this mini series get many hits. Good luck Lawrence and Karla.

Not bad. It’s nice to see these actors do a little more than they get to do on their regular show. And it’s nice to see them doing comedy. They could lose the laugh track though. It makes it seem like a cheesy 60s sitcom.

I didn’t like the laugh track either.

This is cheesy awful. Brad Bell is not a comedic writer. He would do better to invest in writing compelling drama on the Bold and Beautiful in lieu of this ego trip…

The second one was better than the first. The first one I realize they were trying to set it all up. but. It seemed rushed. All in all I liked it. I liked these two on Guiding light so I did like it. Its a reasonable assumption two people one apartment. It can work. She over acts he is more natural. The laugh track didn’t bother me Maybe because it wasn’t blaring.

Actor that portrays carter is very handsome! All day soaps and night dramas need more leading men of color who are dark skinned and not light skinned.

I enjoyed the first two episodes and will continue watching.

I enjoyed these two episodes and look forward to the 3rd one.

The first one, although it was setting up the show was a bit rushed… they could have missed each a bit more and got more of their respective stuff in the room before and literally running into each other with the orange juice incident, which was cute.

The laugh track can be dropped, the show was comedic enough without it, the music is peppy and just right for the show.

Keep them coming and it will be interesting to see where this lands… will it be getting as ‘sexy’ oriented as the one portrayed on B & B? That could be a bit interesting as well!

General Hospital Promo: Obrecht Decides It’s Time To End Peter’s Life, But Her Plans Go Up in Flames!

This week on General Hospital, looks like Peter (Wes Ramsey) may finally be freed from being kidnapped by Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Nina (Michelle Stafford), or will he?

In the just released promo from ABC,  Obrecht needs to be stopped, depending on who you are rooting for, that is.  We see her smash Franco (Roger Howarth) in the head from behind on the docks to keep him from uncovering what she has been up to.  Then, it looks as if Obrecht is holding what looks to be a molotov cocktail! “You have come to the end of the road,” she wildly tells Peter.

Nina attempts to stop her, but it’s too late,  Next thing you know the cabin is engulfed in flames? Who will get out of there alive?

Watch the promo below and then let us know, what you hope happens via the comment section below.

Vinessa Antoine Reveals She And General Hospital Have Parted Ways; After Landing Primetime Series Lead

After the fantastic bit of casting news for actress Vinessa Antoine  (Jordan Ashford) over the weekend, today, via her social media accounts, Vinessa has addressed her future with General Hospital.

As viewers know, Vinessa has been cast as the drama series lead in the new CBC production of Diggstown, and it is groundbreaking making her the first black actress to star in a series on the legendary Canadian broadcasting network,   Originally it was presumed that Antoine would go recurring on GH, while she was away filming, but that is not the case as she revealed in her heartfelt message today.  She and GH have mutually parted ways.

Vinessa’s statement: “There are so many people that God put into place who are directly and indirectly responsible for my time at General Hospital.  You know who you are. I thank you. I came into this world as an artist. My job is to create and inspire. I hope that I did that a little in playing #JordanAshford.

I believe that I have taken her as far as I can.  To clarify, as negotiations for #Diggstown were underway, although I am open to stay and play in Port Charles, I was told by my reps that GeneralHospital felt that my character would be off the canvas for too long for me to continue playing her.

With that, we decided to mutually part ways.  It’s time to make room for more women of color in prominent roles on television. I’m grateful to assist in that by starting this new chapter in my journey. I hope you’ll all come along. I feel blessed. Be well. xo”

An ABC rep told Soap Opera Digest that the role of Jordan is being recast.

So what do you think of Vinessa leaving GH for good? Share your thoughts via the comment section below and let’s wish her much success!

Lauralee Bell On Her 35th Anniversary With Y&R: “My Hope For Cricket Is To Smile The Way She Used To & Chill Whenever Possible.”

Congratulations are in order this Sunday to Lauralee Bell who is celebrating her 35th anniversary with The Young and the Restless.  Hard to believe, it’s been 35 years since the perils of a young Cricket became front and center and those young love stories with Danny (Michael Damian), Phillip (Thom Bierdz) and eventually, Paul ( Doug Davidson).

As Cricket matured, so to was the decision to now call the character by her birth name, Christine.  After all, she became quite the legal eagle! For over three and a half decades with time-off in between, Lauralee has shared memorable storylines with the amazing Tricia Cast, and the late Jeanne Cooper as Nina and Katherine, and let’s not forget Michael Baldwin, played by Christian LeBlanc, to name just a few/

In a few tweets on Sunday, Lauralee acknowledged the day stating: “We all couldn’t do what we love to do without the viewers so thanks to them!”  She followed that up with a tweet filled with photos of herself and her co-stars throughout the years ,and some self-effacing humor stating: “Wasn’t going to post for YR anniversary, because I’m not one to put attention on me but no denying these people have made my life better. Thanks to crew & fans and my hope for Cricket is to smile the way she used to & chill whenever possible”

As viewers know, Lauralee is the daughter of Y&R creators, the late, great Bill Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell.  We are sure Bill is smiling today for Lauralee and proud of this accomplishment.
