General Hospital
Scarlett Fernandez To Make Her GH Debut As Claudette's Daughter, Charlotte!

Courtesy/IMDB
The little girl that all of a sudden General Hospital’s conniving Claudette (Bree Williamson) revealed she had to her former lovers, Nathan (Ryan Paevey) and Griffin (Matt Cohen), is about to debut on-screen this coming Thursday October 13th on the ABC soap opera. That’s when Scarlett Fernandez begins her run as Charlotte!
Although this is the 7-year-old’a first daytime role, she isn’t a show biz newbie! Fernandez recently shot a role in the ABC pilot Broken from executive producer and Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon. In addition, Fernandez can also currently be seen in national commercial spots for Ross Stores.
With Nathan looking forward to meeting his “daughter” and Griffin not sure about Claudette’s story, and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) supposedly jailed in Greece, and the man that Claudette is running from, just how will Charlotte’s arrival play into the entire story?
So, which man do you think will ultimately be the bady daddy to Charlotte?
Is it Nathan as the DNA test proves? Could Charlotte actually turn out to be Griffin’s or Valentin’s biological daughter? Share your theories in the comment section below!
heartbeat…. she needs to be Griffin’s
My dear, dear, Patrick,
You have a good heart, my friend. But, what is actually ailing Griffin!?!? He is torment by those proverbial demons, eating at his insides. It is angels whom should be chasing him, not demons. He is sooo celestial looking, afterall. LOL.
but, we see his turmoil–battling a war within himself. The Is he still in love with Claudette? Is she his demon or his angel who could abate those greedy demons, hungry for Griffin’s soul? Claudette is diluvial, in my opinion. In contrast, Griffin is the typical tortured, cliched hero looking for that mystical, non-existent, unattainable ‘thing’ we all want: PEACE.
Is she the demon?….as fickle as a warm day in winter, and as destructive as a typhoon?
I gotta say this;
I am sick and tired of the overuse of ”who is the daddy” stories..
enough is too much of who’s your daddy, sigh ..
writers– use what little imagination you possess and come up with something new.
I agree. And once we have the children on the canvass, soaps often do not know what to do with them! GH has overused the “who’s your daddy?” and baby-switching tropes. I would love something new (and I do not mean more characters that have little relevance).
Oh, I sooo agree with you, SuzieQ.
But, look at that little face?!?! She’s too beautifully sweet!! And, Scarlett/Charlotte has an uncanny resemblance to Bree.
Yes, baby-daddy ‘mystery’ is sooo old, used and abused that we sort of flick it off, and move on.
As jaybird loves to say, on these boards, “NEXT”. LOL.
would this ease Griffin transition’ing in Port Charles … ?
so he’s not … so conflicted… as a Priest / Dr. … ? that this will “help” him process “all the hurt” in his life … a beautiful daughter to move forward?
because YES… he’s sex’ual
time, right ?
I like the energy that Claudette and Griffin w/child could REEL
which… always has me… wondering… @GH production
why some couples can generate story
for me… I’ve said this before… I like knowing that some couples are happy ever after…
like.. Maxie / Nathan
like ..Lulu / Dante
NOT like… Felicia / Mac…. oy to the soap god ( s ) PLEASE… they’re the best thing about romance… on this show..
the upstanding guy…. bar owner / sometime police man… sexy
the magnificent delight when Felicia shows up onscreen… there’s a glow about this WOMAN
when they hug and kiss it out…
OK GH!
Mac and Felicia
Kevin and Laura
Tracy and ???? Finn ?
please beyond please… tell me that Dr. Joe… is still with
Lucas and Brad are where ?
standing ovation if we ever see Kristina and Parker
Aaron should mix and mingle with Lucas and Brad
I’m hope beyond hope that Maura West character Ava rises from and leads
Celia…thanks for the shout out (or whatever)…LOL!!!!! Much, much appreciated.
Have a good night, my friend.
I do like Griffin (so cute) and Claudette’s shenanigans.
Cute, Charday? Ahhh, my friend….he is BEAUTIFUL !!!!! LOL.
Yes, I agree, Bree plays the perfect ‘bad-girl’. We ‘gotta’ be amused by her transparent machinations, if nothing else. Love your comment.
She is adorable. Great casting!
Is there any point to trying to figure this out? After the writers admitted they didnt know who the GH hospital killer was going to be when the story began, there is no reason to bekieve her parents couldnt be absolutely anyone! She could be Lulu & Stavros daughhter, even though that makes no sense given her age! Who knows or cares…shes a plot point 🙁
Would be karma for Maxie, losing Charlotte to Lulu like the Connie/Georgie storyline lol
Charlotte is Valentin’s but Claudette convinces Nathan he is the poppa…only Maxi is suspicious of Charlotte who acts like a mini Helene Cassidine and performs strange experiments on her Barbies and Beanie Babies…Princess Diana beanie now has Ken’s torso and Sunshine Barbie’s tan..Nathan is too dumb to believe Maxis warnings about strange little Charlotte-lol….seriously, Valetin escapes prison…Claudette flees to Canada with Charlotte but their plane crashes in a river…Claudette is missing and presumed drowned but Charlotte survives and is returned to Nathan to raise…alone together, little Charlotte terrorizes Maxi who miscarries hers and Nathan’s child…arriving home, Nathan discovers a note that Maxi has run away but Claudette is there alive and in his bed…Nathan is unaware little Charlotte(who is really Helene reborn) performed cosmetic surgery on Maxi to look like Claudette and brain surgery to make her act and think like Claudette…feeling abandon by Maxi, Nathan decides to give Claudette a chance unware she is really Maxi…then one day the real Claudette shows up at his door…confused?…will Nathan realize something isnt right? Stay tuned because i have to write this as we go along…i havent figured out the ending in advanced because this wasnt a well thought out plotline…OMG!…im just like a GH writer!!!…lmao!!!
Oh, my gosh!!!! Oh, Jimmy. I can’t take it. I am having, real, honest-to-goodness belly laughs here. HaHaHaHaHa!!!!
I would like to be a fly living in your brain.
One thing, as I have already said when Claudette introduced Valentin’s name, Charlotte is his—-glad you agree. But, there’s always the chance we are wrong. ….never know which direction stories go. These writers never follow the standard. Themes are changed at the eleventh hour, where stories make no sense.
Example? Paul, as the hospital killer. That was a grasping-at-straws story, as I’ve ever seen.
A fly living in my brain…well, good luck finding it-lol…later!!!
@CeeCee….I’m still truly miffed that the sterling Richard Burgi was sacrificed upon the altar of GH’s ridiculous hospital killer storyline. It was a mess from start to finish….’twould have been far better to have had a loopy, med-induced Morgan go on a murder spree to get rid of all the annoying women in Port Charles…..Sabs, Nina, Alexis, Jordan, Val, Hayden, and yes, Claudette! Maybe even the evil Ava as his piece de resistance before offing himself!
Funny and sad but true.
Bravo, sir, bravo
Jimh…You have quite an imagination. But I really wouldn’t want to see another “bad seed” kinda child like Stitch’s boy on Y&R and the original actor who played Liz and Jake/Jason’s boy. On the other hand, never and not into Claudette storyline at all. And to think Burgi who could have been a GH flawed, leading man instead of a serial killer at the last minute, is gone to make room for newer cast like Claudette and Charlotte.
Hey, Jimmy,
Do you think there’s a possibility for an Anirbas showing up? I hope not……up to the rafters with twins—good twin, evil twin, dead twin etc.
Ironically enough, my own twin and I ( while in boarding school) would use pig-latin to communicate. We had our own little language going which only we two understood. Sometimes we still do it just to drive everyone in the family crazy. LOL.
Fabulous concepts there, jimh….but please NO Anirbas!!!!! I mean PLEEZE…it took four long, grueling years to get to the point of Sabs departure…can we just not enjoy it???? As for Charlotte, would she also not make a perfect “Lante” offspring ala that pesky travelling embryo???? I know her age is not exactly quite right to be so, but…hey, it wouldn’t be the first time GH has fudged a baby’s chronology for the purpose of a storyline.
Did you know there was a petition to bring back Sabs(NO WAY, would i sign)…well, it is Halloween so we are all entitled to a good scare..
Oh, no, jimh!!!! That is so NOT what GH needs! I’ve never been one for petition-backed campaigns….I’ve only ever “signed” one online, and that was for the return of Michael Easton to GH because I felt he was dealt with quite unfairly, and since I had been very vocal here about that, I felt it was only right to support him in that effort. However, I was quickly punished for my good deed….my inbox rapidly became laden with further “requests” from the crazy cat fan contingent imploring me to “save” their pet of choice. Despite directing their emails to my spam file, it took quite awhile to stop their messages reproducing like, well, stray cats!!!!!
Why have they cast a 7-year old to play ‘Charlotte?’ I thought the child was almost 10.
This girl is adorable, but certainly doesn’t look 9-10 years old.
Ten? Wow! I didn’t realize Charlotte was supposed to have been 10, SZima. You are so right!! At this age, children need to be exactly the age they represent. The idea does not present a problem when talking about teens 14 to 18 ( and, that’s even a stretch)—-or 20 to 30, due to make-up, per se.
But, Scarlett looks her age: 7.
i wonder when Anirbas(Sabrina backwards) and her flukealike) shows up!!!-lol
She will be 23 next year and dating Michael!
but Sabrina’s identical flukealike Anirbas(thats Sabrina backwards) arrives in town-lol
i don’t think its any coincidence that valentine is involve therefore theres more to this story then meets the eye, so if she’s got “nathan” dna and everyone still thinks he’s a cassadine, and valentine is involve, then she could be lulus and starvos embryo and charlotte was the sorrogate.
Who cares as long as it brings Valentin back. He was such a bastard the first time around that I can’t wait for more of his sinister doings. Loved the character the moment he was on screen.
Interesting enough I saw the actor in a light romantic TV movie…so funny to see him play a good guy, daddy, widowed fireman/restaurant owner/romantic interest. At first I couldn’t get past Valentin…and then…I saw all of the above. Acting…gotta love it. 🙂
Yeah James, Helena said he was the worst of the bunch BUT Sonny handled him like a sack of coffee! No problem.
Don’t care who she is, don’t care about this character or this story. Can’t tolerate Claudette and she can have Nathan as far as I’m concerned. He still looks at Spinelli like he wants to punch him again, same as he does with Griffin. Maxie should cut her losses and move on.
Soaphound…EXACTLY!!!!! I don’t see (or care about) the point where Claudette’s so-called daughter is concerned. And, besides, Claudette is ANNOYING ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!! As far as I’m concerned, bringing Claudette’s ‘daughter’ on to the show serves NO PURPOSE!!!!! AT ALL!!!!!
Have a good one, Soaphound.
Sing it, Soaphound.
The little girl is darling, however, I have no interest in Claudette, the paternity story line and another attempt at making a square peg character fit into the holes.
What if the hole is square, Harry? What then?
Too funny, Soaphound.
Thank you. Like they say “speak the truth and shame the devil”. Claudette is irrelevant to the GH storytelling canvas. They could get rid of her character tomorrow and no one would miss her so why do they think we care about her child? This is the kind of nonsense that is destroying the soap industry, focusing on characters that no one cares about. I applaud CBS for listening to their viewers and getting rid of characters that viewers don’t like ( Sage, Dylan, etc). No wonder CBS daytime is number one. GH will never be number if they continue this foolishness.
I agree with you LL2. But, some fans feel that Burton is leaving because Phelps left? I don’t know how much credence can be given to that, albeit I loved Sage.
I think that she and Nick could have become super couple. But, in my heart of hearts, I always hoped, believe even, that Nick and Sharon always end up together. Much like Victor and Nikki.
You are right, though……GH needs to start steering away from too many storylines and this influx of new characters.
If said characters lasted, I would have a different point of view….but, this revolving door business is as disturbing as open borders.
I guess even on a soap, the guys is too hot to leave so you deal with the bullshit! Sad.
Okay isn’t Nathan supposed to be Valentin’s son with Dr. O? I know the father was supposed to be someone worse than who he thinks is his father. If that is true then the DNA test saying the little girl is Nathan’s could still be wrong since Nathan would have his father’s DNA– this little girl could still be his sister.
If Ron C was writing this I would say the little girl was Lulu’s and they gave her some weird growth drug and that “little” Jake was somehow related to this little girl too- through some genetic tampering–but atlas no more off the wall stories like that– can’t actually believe I am missing the vampires and mad scientists — I like character based stories, but Jelly are not doing those kind of stories, so if I had choose between badly written plot driven stories and clever way out there stories– then I rather have Ron back– did hell just freeze over because I think I am agreeing with SUOOO? LOL
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians reading this Oct 10th—
We do not know if Nathan is Valentin’s son, Mary. This idea was thrown in there by Shay and me when Dr. O expressed the fact that Nathan was her son and not MadMaddie’s. I did not know the history, so I wondered who fould posdibly be more evil than Victor?
Everyone was under the impression that Victor was the father…..
But, Dr. O said that Nathan’s father was worse than all Cassadines combined ( I am paraphrasing) and had , thus, ‘given’ James (Nathan) to her sister to rear for his protection.
I remember Shay having said that it could not be Mikkos?, so the only one she could think of was Valentin. Ergo, the concept was born.
It is all speculation.
I remember that, CeeCee, and I’m still sticking by that assertion. However, given GH’s propensity for producing storylines that come out of nowhere and often have no sense of historical proportion, another explanation as to Nathan’s paternity could be forthcoming…I must say that the actual character of Valentin has been a huge letdown for me…I truly expected an epic European supercriminal in the mold of a Bond-esque villain with a suave and charming exterior, yet an evil incarnate soul lurking beneath the polished facade. The fact that the Valentin we have thus far gotten “in the flesh” is such an ordinary, garden-variety baddie has been most disappointing, to say the least!
@Shay.
I know, right, Shay?
James Stuart is so good-looking, but, not with a menacing face. He looks angelic to me. LOL.
as yourself, I was expecting to see a Christopher Lee type. A’ la Dracula.
But, on the other hand, perhaps Stuart’s ‘soft’ looks is what TPTB wanted ……”catch more flies with honey’? LOL.
PS.
I love the mad scientists myself, Mary. I would gladly trade Faison’s bantering with Liesl, any day.
And, yes, Aria’s idea that Claudette was the surrogate is brilliant, in my opinion. So, it would not be so far-fetched for Jakey to be enmeshed in this entire travesty. Great post, Mary.
As I said on the Y&R site ( Steve Burton), there will be another Morgan emerging from the car explosion, after spending months in hospital. This new Morgan will miraculously be free of his bipolar disorder …….another distorted storyline on the horizon, where a Cassadine has a ‘hand’ stuck in the plot.
Paging Maury Povich…LOL!!!!!
Lol!
LOL, Jay.
She is a little button! I hope she can act. She really looks like she could be Michelle Stafford’s mini double!
She’s adorable. Hope it’s a worthwhile story.
Wow! Whether it’s 7 or 10 years since this little girl was born, that is a long time that Nathan has been out of the mother’s life! That is a super long time to be pining for someone (even for me, LOL!). I assumed it was a couple of years at most. This whole storyline is FF to me until that Valentin actor comes back on the screen. He just lit up the screen even if his character is a baddie. I feel bad for the Maxie character and the actress who plays her to be stuck with such dead weight. (not the little girl, just the other 3 adults in this orbit).
She’s adorable. I hope the horrible writing on this show doesn’t scar her for life!
Nathan and Claudette should leave town together with their daughter, Maxie and Griffin should become a couple, Maxie should get her cheeks back and — bamm — end of story. Move onto better things.
I must say this while I have time and the topic is fresh on my mind.
So, forgive me …
I found Maurice’s delivery today as stellar. He was soooo good, I got goose-bumps.
Perhaps, it is the fact that I know the pain of losing a child. But, Sonny’s shock was tangible…I could taste his devastation. He lost look of desperation touched my every nerve ending…..kudos, Maurice.
For the first time in two and one half years, I see the allure and star that is, Maurice Benard.
Sonny will ‘die’ from his guilt-ridden feelings.
Will this be the end of Carly and Sonny? Again? Carly will blame Sonny for Morgan’s presumed death. Justifiably so!!
Carly and Sonny are the Nikki and Victor Newman of GH…of course they will divorce and get married for the 1000th time-lol
it took Bryan Craig… leaving the show… to shake this “whole” show up
this could be a very easy let… for Laura Wright and Maurice Benard
because you can’t unspin the truth…. GH sole focus of the Corinthos’ FAILED
epically so
when Sonny and Carly found out Morgan was expelled… and he stormed out… after the billionth time telling his parents he’s the way he is… and it’s never going to change
Carly is telling Sonny… ” I thought we were past this ” “he’s my baby”
I actually teared up… ME
over a Laura Wright performance
angst at how this could or should end…. ie: Ava tampering with his meds
IT’s time folks… GH to end the sole focus on the Corinthos’
all posts lament on the enormity of this invaluable cast… so many qualified performers to cull…. reach… REEL
it’s this easy to tell GH / ABC / Disney :
Sonny / Carly ; Jason / Sam ; Julian / Alexis
give these three couples a break… AND back to supporting
it’s at the breaking point especially for Billy Miller.. Jason… what’s the point ?
the mob back… is not polished refined with no mystique….
Ric Lansing… for Carly
Claire Walsh.. for Sonny
Jason back to the Q’s
Sam ??? i’m just not interested to vest any thing
Julian… Nina ? Olivia ? the WRITERS ruined his character… assassination ?
like Paul / Nicholas / Dr. Joe / Morgan… magnetic person with so much presence
Alexis : god her high morals standards virtue… still questioned… she’s primed for spinster … UNWIND …. FUN ? Alexis … seriously… uptight too long … gone
Valentin simply has to return… to add LIFE…. Nina / Ava / Claudette… stirring
ready
I like your thoughts…
“…For the first time in two and one half years, I see the allure and star that is, Maurice Benard.
Sonny will ‘die’ from his guilt-ridden feelings.
Will this be the end of Carly and Sonny? ”
I read some of the ABC soap digest today.. and it pretty much seemed to sum up “our” thoughts … frustrations… provocations… LOL…. dire needs
I especially was keyed in to… will they or won’t they…. ( carly and sonny ) survive this
earnestly… I think all this is just too much for Maurice Benard… with all due respect
share the wealth of talent
I mean really ? Maurice Benard really took the ball and ran with it….and; THERES NO TURNING BACK….
it’s like Eric Breadon… all over again… and he’s lost
two star studded performances with zeal ego and panache ride
i’m waiting this out
yike
GH production… salvage… like Luke… Sonny lives on… just less REEL
I still miss Sabrina
all aired out
Celia, YES! Maurice was indeed amazing and reminded some of us why we thought he was a brilliant kind of method actor in the first place. But you know who else was brilliant?
Maura West. You know I have been critical of her over-the-top campy approach to acting, but today she brought it on. In fact, she out played Laura Wright’s Carly.
Another actor who really pulled out all the stops? The actor who plays Dante–Dominique?-he was so damned guttural and emotionally wrenching with his performance that he brought me to tears despite my not really caring about Morgan. In fact, he was so good that Billy Miller’s lackadaisical performance paled even more by comparison. I know Miller is a capable actor. He had viewers in tears over his reaction to his daughter’s death while playing Billy Abbott on Y&R. Why is Miller seemingly phoning it in on GH? I know he is capable of doing better.
In any case, today’s GH was really very good and reminded us all of why we watch.
That said, I do not think Sonny had the bomb put on Julian’s car. However, everyone will think he did it and so karma’s hand will be biting him on the butt either way.
By the end of today’s episode, Harry, I, too, doubt that Sonny is the culprit. It would be sooo cruel, if he did.
The explosion is too obvious. This is an enemy of both Sonny and Julian…..killing two birds with one stone, as it were.
That is, kill Julian and the blame would naturally fall on Sonny. Great post, Harry.

‘General Hospital’s’ Amanda Setton Talks Her Reaction, Scenes, and Co-Stars After Becoming a Daytime Emmy Nominee for the First Time (Exclusive)

When the nominations were announced for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards earlier this week, General Hospital fans were thrilled to see Amanda Setton’s name as one of this year’s Outstanding Supporting Actress nominees.
It marks the first time in her career that she has ever been nominated. Setton has played Brook Lynn Quartermaine since 2019. Soap viewers first saw her in the role of Kimberly Andrews on One Life to Live during her run from 2009-2011.
Amanda received her Daytime Emmy nomination for her emotional turn as Brook Lynn learned she had been lied to by her mother, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) for years, after giving up her baby for adoption as a teen. Little did she know she had a secret son living with her this whole time at the Quartermaine mansion in Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).

During an exclusive conversation live on Tuesday night, July 14, during the Michael Fairman Channel’s annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Special, she discussed her reaction to the news, her nominated reel and her GH co-stars.
GOING FOR EMMY GOLD
Setton explained how she found out she was a Emmy nominee! “Frank Valentini called me, our boss. It was such a beautiful moving moment. I’ve known Frank for 20 years and to share this with him, I’m indebted to him on a lot of levels. I was in the car with my husband. We were going for a hike. We got away for just a couple days, just the two of us. It was early in the morning and to share that moment with Frank, to share that moment with my husband, it was the best. We cried and I’m just so grateful.”
The Supporting Actress nominee shared what scenes she submitted: “My reel was obviously about the Gio storyline. It started with the scenes with Lulu (Alexa Havins) and shout out to Alexa! She’s the best. It’s when I first find out that she knows and that I had boy. Then, begging her not to tell Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and just to leave it alone, then into the scenes with Rena Sofer, shout out to her! She is the best. I love her. I spoke to her today. She deserved to also be nominated. They are the scenes right after I find out at the Nurses’ Ball, and right after Brooklyn finds out that Gio is her son, not her cousin. Then my reel ended with the scene with Gio in the kitchen when Brook Lynn’s first sees him after the Nurses’ Ball and she says, ‘We can work this out,’ and he’s like, ‘No, we can’t,” and he walks away. It was an amazing story and kudos to the writers.”

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SCENES
It is always important in the Emmy game to put together a submission, so that someone who doesn’t watch the show day to day, can grasp the story of what’s happening to your character. Setton explained how she went about assembling the choices for her scenes. “Between Michelle Henry (producer, GH) and Frank, they said, ‘You need to tell the story. Find the scenes that tell the story.” Once I did it was clear to all of us, the story has been told,” shared Amanda.
“Anyone who’s watching this reel can get a feel for the intensity of the story. I think after even the first scene where you’re just like, ‘Wait a minute! This girl had a baby? She didn’t know if it was a boy or girl?’ Now this nemesis of her wants to … ‘What’s happening? What’s going on? And then the mom knew the story? ‘ So by the end, your heart’s just broken for this girl.”
Initially, Amanda like the viewers were trying to figure out how GH would make sense of the story, where suddenly years later we find out Brook Lynn got pregnant at summer camp by Dante! Setton said, “Once they (the writers) started building it out and you saw all the different relationships playing out between her and her mother, her and Dante, her and Lulu, her and Gio, her and her husband Chase (Josh Swickard), even Tracy (Jane Elliot), and then the fallout of all of it, it just touched so many characters on the canvas. I think it was like a huge juicy burger for the fans to just take a big bite.”

AMANDA SETTON TALKS ON HER TV SON GIOVANNI MAZZA
In addition to Amanda, both Giovanni Mazza and Braedyn Bruner (Emma) landed their first ever nominations in the Emerging Talent category. Setton shared how she and Mazza have developed such a close bond.
“Gio and I are super close. Right from the start, we just hit it off. He is such a delight. He’s so hardworking. He’s such an eager learner. He’s always looking to be better. He always wants to grow. That’s a huge testament to his work ethic,” explains Amanda. “He’s an amazing person, and over the last couple of years, we’ve had many deep conversations about work, about life, perspective, gratitude, values, a lot of different deep things. I could not be more thrilled for Gio and this moment for him. It is well deserved. He has worked so hard for it. I really hope he wins. Although, I also love Braedyn!”
One of the most unforgettable moments of 2025 in the soaps is when Gio takes to the Nurses’ Ball stage after overhearing Lulu and Lois talk that he is the biological son of Brook Lynn and Dante. Ready to begin to play his violin, he smashes it pieces and storms off. Setton was in the scene and recalls, “That was wild. He did such a great job with that. That is not an easy moment to hit, pun intended. He nailed it.”

THE CONNECTION WITH JANE ELLIOT
On General Hospital, Brook Lynn is close with her ‘Granny,” the one and only Tracy Quartermaine, and in real life Amanda is very close with Jane Elliot, with whom she was able to share the news of her nomination. “First of all, this woman has become one of my closest friends.”
Amanda adds, I’m not exaggerating. I am confident to say she would say the same. We’ve become really close friends outside of work. We speak, almost every day. We just went out to lunch last week. She’s become such a close person in my life over these last few years. She’s such a leader. Jane’s a really special person in my life after my family. I wanted to share the news of this nomination with her and she was over the moon.”
HARD WORK PAID OFF
Getting a pat on the back from her peers is one of the more touching moments in Amanda’s career, as she explains: “I have to say we’re in the daytime world, so for us it feels so wonderful and so rich. But in the landscape of the entertainment industry, in daytime, we’re in the trenches. We work really hard. We have a ton of pages. We have a ton of really high stakes, dramatic work to try to do in a grounded, authentic way, continuously every day on television. Not that it’s thankless, because thank God we are employed actors on a network TV show, and we are also grateful. But, I’m not going to lie, and say it doesn’t feel good to just get a little ‘thank you’ or like a little, ‘I see your work.’ It feels fulfilling.”
You can check out the full live interview with Amanda Setton at the 2:24:26 mark during the Daytime Emmy Nominations Special Live below, which featured 13 newly-nominated actors sharing their reactions and what they submitted for their reels the landed them a nomination at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
So, are you happy for Amanda that she finally secured her first ever Daytime Emmy nomination? Do you think she is one of the frontrunners for the gold for Outstanding Supporting Actress based on the emotional tale of Brook Lynn’s journey to learning she had a son and it was Gio Palmieri? Grady Eldridge Makes His ‘General Hospital’ Debut as Music Executive Simon

There’s another new face in Port Charles, when on today’s Wednesday, July 15 on General Hospital, Grady Eldridge made his debut as Simon, a new music executive, who is scouting talent for his record label.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Eldridge is on recurring status with the ABC soap opera, and in story, Simon is the A&R rep responsible for signing music acts and he enters the scene as Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) sets up a musical showcase for Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) who accompanies her on guitar. As the showcase kicks off, Simon arrives.
While his GH role marks his first on daytime, Grady can currently be seen in the final season of HBO’s comedy hit, Hacks. He has numerous credits in primetime including: Doctor Odyssey, The Sex Lives of College Girls and appeared as Max in the recently released in Jennifer Lopez’s movie office romance.
Eldridge joins several other newcomers have joined the ABC soap including: Dean Geyer as Dr. Tristan Roberts (who first showed up on Monday’s July 13 episode), and Troy Lennon Appel as mysterious businessman, Hudson who shows up later this month.
In addition, GH fans will get the chance to see Kayden Brenna Tokarski who takes over the role of Scout Cain, and Kelly Kruger (ex-Mackenzie Browning, The Young and the Restless) who is the recast Serena Baldwin, who debuts on July 30.
So, do you hope Simon sticks around Port Charles? Do you think Trina and Gio will become a major recording act, or will trouble be brewing with this new music executive, and Brook Lynn will spell t-r-o-u-b-l-e? Let us know your thoughts and impressions after checking out Grady on today’s GH via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Tells Danny: ‘The Place They Were Holding Me Was Bad, Really Bad’

What happened to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) when he was captivity by the WSB? That is the question on many minds of General Hospital viewers, especially following the airing of the Tuesday, July 14 episode of the ABC daytime drama series, which also received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards yesterday.
In story and in the pick-up of Monday’s episode, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) comes face to face with his father at the Quartermaine boathouse. Jason assures his son that he is home for good. However, Jason is confused why the WSB suddenly released him from Jakarta in the last 48 hours.
Danny goes in on his father for taking the fall for Cullum’s shooting when it was Rocco who shot the now deceased WSB director. Jason tried to explain he had to make a last minute decision and didn’t want Rocco’s life to be ruined by shooting another man.

JASON WANTS TO TAKE A SHORT TRIP WITH DANNY
Jason promised Danny that from now on, he is his top priority, and that time away has given him a new perspective. When Danny tries to get more intel from his dad on what he went through, all Jason would say is, “The place they were holding me was bad, really bad.”
Danny admits that the person he told that Rocco shot Cullum was Port Charles bureau chief, Jack Brennan, but he told him that WSB would want Danny to drop the whole thing, and just leave it be now that Cullum is dead.
TRACY SEES JASON
Suddenly, Tracy (Jane Elliot) shows up and is happy to see that Jason has resurfaced saying she knew he would be back. As she welcomed him home, Jason has a favor to ask her.
Next, he proposes much to Danny’s happiness, that he and his son are going to away together for a few days to catch up on things. So, that there is no issue, Jason asks if Tracy can please tell Alexis that he has returned to Port Charles and anyone else that would need to know, so they are not concerned for Danny’s welfare and that they know he is with his dad. Tracy agrees, and she and Jason share a hug.
Now the question is, what happened to Jason? We know his face is beaten up. We saw in flashbacks he was held in a cell and we can see he had been experiencing what seems like PTSD from being in captivity.
Previously, GH co-head writer, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten previewed to Soap Opera Digest on Jason’s return, “His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life. His decision will have big implications for Danny, Britt, the Quartermaines, Anna and especially Sonny.”
So, what do you think happened to Jason while being held by the WSB? Did something horrific occur? Will Jason tell Sonny he can no longer work for him so he no longer puts himself or his family in any kind of danger? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
