Scott Elrod Joins The Cast Of The Young and the Restless Promo!
Looks like things will finally get very shaky for Dylan (Steve Burton) and Avery (Jessica Collins) with the arrival of Avery’s ex Joe (Scott Elrod) in Genoa City!
In story, Avery had an affair with Dylan while still married to Joe! And Dylan suspected Joe of stalking Avery during her cooking show story. What will happen and what are Joe’s plans for the duo when he hits town?
In a newly released promo from CBS Daytime heralding the debut of former Men In Trees star, Scott Elrod to The Young and the Restless they tease, “Tall … dark … and restless..” To which Elrod states to camera, “The fun is just beginning.”
Elrod is set for his on-screen debut on the October 1st episode of Y&R! Watch the promo after the jump, and let us know if you are looking forward to Scott mixing it up with the cast on the number one soap opera!
Is Scott on contract or just recurring? I could see the show keeping him around for a while. And I’m thinking Kelly Sullivan’s new character Sage might be Dylan’s adoptive sister or one of his past flings, and will somehow factor into this story too.
Oh God, no, please no relatives for Dullan!
Seriously……snorrre.
It’s kind of a weak idea. We’ve been made to believe that Avery & Joe just didn’t have it in the romance/love department and that Dylan is her true love. So why should I believe that she’ll fall for Joe? Can we get Danny or Daniel back on canvas? How about Cole (J Eddie Peck), Nina, etc…
I think – I could be mistaken – that in the made up flashback of Davery’s affair or Avery’s recount of it…Joe was a workaholic & ignored her, Dylan did work at her house & they remembered each other from childhood….he gave her attention that Joe wasn’t & BOOM affair.
Oh, boo hoo, right, Ree? I we women craved constant attention from our husbands and did not get as much as we wanted; would we all be having affairs? As I am sure you do, Ree, I find that extremely lame and last resort for TPTB to employ.
From what I understand, hot-shot attorneys have no set schedule and are workaholics themselves. So, there needs to be something more for their marriage to fall apart. I’m sure that story will be told, eventually. She is such a snore that Joe probably got more spice buried in his paper work. Lol
CeeCee,
The last sentence in your post had me ROTFL…LOL!!!!! Thanks. Yep…Avery is that D-U-L-L!!!!! Lame.
Take care, CeeCee. XOXOXOXOXO
He really should’ve been Adam…Justin H. shouldv’e been Billy…Burgess shouldve been Joe…and i shouldve hit the Poweball jackpot last Saturday but its obvious my wishes never come true…lol
I am really surprised that he was not Adam they may at the time when he auditioned just not ready to recast Adam or weighing their options with Muhney still. Avery & Dylan seem more like brother & sister just not any chemistry really between the actors. I am really surprised that Burton is content to play a good old boy when before Jason had his accident on Gh he was bored with the good guy bit. Maybe this guy will spice things up!
totally agree…so far the Mariah storyline is the most interesting part of the show…i only watch a few eps a month but with her and BM as Maureen i find the show doing better…SBs Dullian doesnt help…he’s too goody…and this newbie Joe…well, if i had been in casting the actor wouldv’e been Adam…he looks a little like MM and i bet he wouldve been the perfect recast as Adam!!!
Good call Jim…except I should’ve hit the Powerball jackpot! 🙂
ha, agree
Yeah Jim but how depressing is this, even if you would have hit the Powerball, Abby STILL has more money than you!
I wish we could dump Dylan and Avery altogether. They are so boring. Don’t know why Y&R keeps adding characters to the story. It’s okay when Dylan is with Nikki or Paul, but otherwise YAWN.
I like that Avery’s character is sweet and “good” when there are villains on canvas. I liked it when she & Phyllis were trying to figure out their relationship and often bickering. I also like Jessica Collins and think she’s gorgeous— but I can see where others do not like her and Dylan.
As Mo said…apart they interact just fine with their fellow protagonists, together? They s??k.
I liked Avery when she was a friend to Adam. It was the only time I found her remotely interesting and it was good to see Michael being kind to someone not because he was romantically interested or because he hoped to gain something in return, but just because he valued her as a friend.
But I digress–I guess I am missing Michael Muhney as Adam. I think Dylan could have been interesting paired up with Sharon. The airport cafe should name a sandwich after Dylan and Avery. They could call it the plane sandwich.
Yes, I agree, jimh. Although I should not judge by looks alone, Elroy seems to possess that innate ‘swaggah’ and maturity. At the same time, I love Justin H….I really think he’s a phenomenal actor. But, when push comes to shove, he has that boyish look about him, not indicative of a ruthless businessman. IMO, that is exactly how I perceive Adam.
Adding another good looking guy to a show is never a horrible idea– lets just hope old Joe has a story to back up the hype—
Yes, we can hope. I have heard really good things. Maybe he can jazz up that mayo on white bread sandwich called Avery and Dylan.
Hopefully he will be more interesting than Dullen. Probably once the Jack, Kelly, Phyllis dust settles they will pair him with Phyllis just to get Avery’s dander up.
I tuned in briefly to A) see the Katherine Memorial & B) see if there had been any improvement since I watched in December. I was disappointed on both counts. And, am I the only one who finds Kelly/Cady’s hair distracting? Reminds me of when Ginger Rogers wore her hair like that well into her 70’s…ick.
It’s too blonde, Chaz. And that blood-orange lipstick that Cady is wearing is not doing her any favors as it drains the color from her skin.
But Y&R is improving. I like Mariah’s character because she’s interesting and that actress is damned good. She’s conflicted, hurt and acting out because of it. It just occurred to me that she is Adam to Sharon’s Victor.
I also have been catching glimpses of Gina and she has escaped the hospital and is hitchhiking to Genoa City. Although she has not said a word, she says so much with that scary look of grim determination on her face.
I agree , Chaz. Joe and Phyllis should become an item. What sweet irony that would be !!…. Well, you know; what’s good for the goose?…..
However, I don’t necessarily agree with your concept about older women’s hair styles. The color is a bit too bright, but, other than that I find no fault with it. As long as hair is clean and well-kept, age should not matter. My mother is 54 and her beautiful straight blond hair is past her shoulders….you just got her dander up…LOL.
On a different note, I completely love Gina as Phyllis already. I agree with Harry…her eyes speak volumes. She needs not utter a word, the audience can read her mind…she is focused and determined. We see some of the Phyllis temperament surfacing…awesome acting !!!!
I must add…I wonder if Phyllis remembers EVERYTHING? Is she headed to a Genoa City to confront Sharon? Will she bust into Sharon’s and Nick’s wedding ceremony just as they are about to say, “I do”, a’ la Robin Scorpio (GH)?
And with each new addition, the main focus of this show is shifting further and further away from what made it successful for decades —– Jill, the Abbotts, the Newmans, and Paul.
Nothing against this actor but is he really needed? Do we really need to meet Avery’s ex-husband whom she divorced before ever appearing on the show? Why do the writers want to bring her ex-husband to town when they have worked so hard to convince us that Dylan is her true love??
An even more fundamental question —– Do we even need Avery on the show at all???
Why do we need to meet non-crucial Avery’s non-crucial husband??? Why not bring back missing characters who still have a connection to the show —– Daniel Romalotti, Heather Stevens, Kyle Abbott, Fenmore Baldwin, Scotty Grainger —— or beef up the presence of interesting characters who are rarely seen —– Gloria???
I’m not familiar with anything this actor has done so promoting his jointing the cast does little to make me want to watch.
The fact that I am familiar with Blue Steel and Avery Bailey Clark and his appearance will mean more screen time for them also does little to make me want to watch.
I’ll go out on a limb and say that I think that something’s going to happen to Avery. With Joe arriving in Genoa City, there will be at least four characters on the canvas as possible suspects. Phyllis may not be the same as she was before her accident because of the experimental treatment that brought her out of the coma, and it’s already been established that she doesn’t get along with her sister. Austin has harbored a grudge against Avery because of his mother’s death; has he really gotten over his anger? Joe might be a bitter ex-husband bent on exacting revenge against his ex. Dylan has had violent PTSD episodes, and he’s already had blackouts. We could even add little Faith Newman as a fifth suspect since she can’t stand Avery. In any event, I think Dylan will have a blackout and be accused of whatever happens to Avery.
wow, nice promo for a guy whose done movies and tv shows nobodies watch!
OK..
Joe or Dylan Joe or Dylan Joe or Dylan Joe or Dylan ..
…….. Joe !!!!
(easily done 🙂
GOOD. Dylan’s character needs shook up a bit. To one dimensional. Steve is a good actor. The juices should start to flow! I hop e Joe is a business man and goes after Newman, as well. Maybe a mobster type. He looks like he could be Maurice Bernard’s brother!
Is there a chance that Austin lied about his past and Avery is his mother and only he and Joe know this?
Oh no! LOL… That means that Austin would be Summer’s first cousin, and she already went down the incest route with Kyle (even though she’s secretly not an Abbott). Summer would lose her mind completely to think she married and has been sleeping with her first cousin.
Awesome! Loved him in MIT. Dylan and Avery need a shake up.
Good point, Timmm. Anything is possible. Who would be the father? Joe? I thought it was Dylan’s baby she lost…unless that baby was taken from her and not miscarried. Isn’t that the usual path these ‘lost’ babies take?
In soaps you are never really dead and your never sure who your daddy is!
Obviously, Dylan is being set up by none other than Ian Ward. The only one for whom I feel badly in all this is Paul.
Off subject but, does anyone else think that Hunter King bears a very strong resemblance to Miranda Lambert?
OMG, where has this guy been all my life’ Joe is just what this show needs. I am so excited.
