Watch out Dylan McAvoy and the other gents on The Young and the Restless!  A new hottie is about to arrive in Genoa City in the form of none other than former Men in Trees star Scott Elrod!

According to TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan, Elrod is now set to play Avery’s (Jessica Collins) ex-hubby, Joe Clark.  In the back-story, Avery and Joe’s marriage had hit the skids, and she began her affair with war vet Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton)! But apparently the lawyer/chef has always wished Joe found happiness elsewhere, but has always carried the guilt with her of what she had done to their marriage.

A Y&R show rep told TVG:  “Viewers can expect Joe to have more than a few tricks up his sleeve as he crosses paths with several key Y&R characters.”

Elrod will begin to be seen on air in early October.  As mentioned, Elrod starred opposite Anne Heche in the ABC comedy Men in Trees as Cash the handyman, and also appeared in the Oscar winning film, Argo, among other screen credits.

So what do you think about the casting of Scott Elrod?  Looking forward to Joe coming to town to throw a wrench into Dylan and Avery’s relationship?   Weigh-in below!

—may sound shallow and superficial; but, all I can say is, WHAT A HUNK !!

Yes he is a hunk, hot hot hot man.

This man should have been chosen to play the character of Christian Grey on 50 shades of grey!!!

I know right. He looks like Colin Egglesfield.

Will make Dullan and Billy look like road kill.

Y & R has several sexy men. Sooo glad Scott joined the cast. Love the soap!

Perhaps another actor who audition for the role of Adam, but wasn’t quite right so they created this character for him? All I know the show is introducing another new character and at this rate it won’t be long before JFP can rename the show, because it will be basically a whole different show than the one Mr Bell created.

Mary I think JFP is running scared over there her Billy recsasts have been epic fail! I still say GT/nu Phyllis was only cast because she wanted to show Stafford a thing or two as my sister would say. GT is too young for the role it is the same mistake MAB made with Maura West as the new Diane Jenkins. Still off my DVR! I also think she has a unhealthy obsession with Steve Burton which has ruined the show for me if he is not on the screen he is talked about.

Scott is a very hot man, he has gorgeous eyes and a hot body. Wow eye candy. LOL. I have a boyfriend, who is hot too. Scott is a terrific actor. Welcome scott to daytime. I will be watching you on The Young and The Restless. Maybe phyllis will hit the sheets with him. Gina Tagnoni first air date August 11, I cannot wait. Gina will be terrific as the new Phyllis.

I don’t know this actors body of work, though I do agree…he sure looks very hot man, indeed. Gosh, as I’m a GH & DAYS fan…I think he’d be a better Nathan and definitely look great with Maxie. Y&R’s gain!

he kind of looks like gh nathan, either way, i’ll take him over steve burton!

cute guy. but y? can avery and macavoy be happy? guess not! soaps sucks!

I’m very excited about this. I love Scott’s work, and have always wondered about Joe’s history with Avery. It’ll be nice to see how this all plays out, and how Joe will interact with the rest of the cast of characters. Bring him on!! I’m dying to see how this is going to turn out!

…..or is he the new Adam?

he is not the new adam he will be playing joe clark avery’s ex husband so no he is not adam.

I read the article but they’ve had casting before for one character and it was really for the surprise return of another character.

I was thinking the same thing. Could they be fooling us into thinking it’s Joe, but it’s really going to be Adam?

Yes, I believe that too and I think he would be a good fit for the role. I don’t know his age but he could pass for nic and Victoria’s younger bro unlike the last actor, but I did like him.

He looks a bit young an too handsome to have been with Avery..
But, perhaps it is just a good photo of him..

I hope he is serial killer and spots Kelly.
Y&R and mostly me needs some excitement, badly..

So, is this guy under contract or recurring..? I think I like him..

Are you crazy, Avery is beautiful and has good taste in men. Jessica Collins is a very pretty lady and a terrific actress.

awww Johnny..
I did not say she isn’t pretty or anything about her acting..
(it’s her always grinning … LOL..

and she is pretty and can act ..
but I just dont see her and the handsomely rugged Joe as matching up ..

Have to see them interact .. ya know, screen chem and all that stuff .. 🙂

I agree with you Johnny, Jessica Collins is very attractive and the lady can act. Jessica is 43 years old, wow she looks very young for her age.

No, su0000. Look him up. He just is a hottie in every picture, not in just this one. He looks a lot like my husband.
I do agree with you; Avery is all wrong for him, as she was for Nick. She and Dylan are boringly perfect together.
I also agree with Mary SF. Inasmuch as I simply salivate over Scott, Y&R is starting to look like Grand Central.

CeeCee ..
I agree! He is hot.. and-
Dylan and Avery are a sedative .!
They don’t do anything..
She goes in the coffee shop they talk about nothing interesting she leaves and he fiddles with the coffee machine.. they talk, that is all that is going with them..
Avery and Dylan do nothing = boring.. lol ..
I can’t waste my soap viewing time them I FF through their conversation about nothing..

At least- Seinfeld’s show that was ”all about nothing” was funny!

When I saw his pic I thought he was the new Adam …. then I read..

((that is good he is not the new Adam I don’t care to have MM replaced))

well, then they shan’t recast Adam! If you don’t care for it, then it will not be done.

He shouldve played Adam…

Adam Newman will be back by the fall, mark my words Cameron Mathison will play Adam. This will happen. Cameron is sexy and a wonderful actor.

Oh Good Lord, I hope you are wrong, Maria. Everything about Cameron speaks to his being the anti-Adam.
They might as well cast Cameron as Jim Morrison.

Hopefully not! CM is a decent actor but he doesn’t have the qualities needed for Adam….someone who can be vulnerable and yet be ruthless, vicious and scheming. I think if cast he would suffer the same fate as David Tom. And after that disaster I don’t think TPTB would want that happening again.

Harry…TOTALLY AGREED!!!!! Cameron Mathison playing Adam Newman? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! And…N-O!!!!! No No No No. Next…..

Seems Y&R is no longer the show Bill Bell created. So many new people. I always liked Avery though. Was glad Phyllis was given a family. Sad Avery and Nick could not last. Seems Avery and Dylan are the center couple now.

New cast is easy on the eyes, for sure. A boy toy for Ashley?

Hmmm—very interesting.

Dylan McAvoy who?

I’m supposed to believe that Avery cheated on this gorgeous, sexy hunk of man meat with average looks, boring, Dudley-do-right Dylan?! He better be a serial killer or something, otherwise that scenario would make no sense.

Nikki…Oh, girlfriend…you are SO RIGHT ON!!!!! Any on-screen soap chick that would cheat on that V-E-R-Y S-E-X-Y A-S H-E-L-L Joe Clark with that dull-as-dishwater Dylan would clearly be OUT OF HER MIND!!!!!

Nikki…your ‘sexy hunk of man meat’ comment TRULY MADE MY DAY…LOL!!!!! Thank you.

Take care, Nikki. XOXOXOXOXO

One question, why in the world would Avery ever look at another man, when she has this man at home. Another storyline that will make no sense, but he will be nice to look at.

Yes, it never a bad idea to cast a good looking guy on a show– I am sure they will find many ways for him to go shirtless lol—but you’re right without a story what is the point of bringing a new characters, they cannot make up for poor writing. And as for your question, I know you weren’t being serious, but to state the obvious—if sex was just about looks it doesn’t make sense, but marriage is about more than having a hot husband– no doubt Avery’s ex wasn’t meeting her emotional needs and Dylan did.

Oh, I agree, Mary SF. Who would not admire a hot guy? I am married with two small children; that doesn’t mean a great looking guy won’t grab my attention…it’s human nature. But, being blessed with good looks does not a happy marriage make. One thing has nothing to do with the other. As you say, Mary, If the emotional needs are not met, there is no marriage…just role-play.

I wont get excited until I see him on the screen. Y&R has done such poor job with their casting with the exception of Gina Tognoni. I dont know his body of work either so we’ll see if he can make an impact.

Thank you, Y&R!

I was hoping for yet another new character to join the show and the best part is that this one will be involved with Dylan and Avery which means more screen time for that super popular couple and less for the veteran characters I enjoy.

Hooray!

Scott will be a very welcome addition to this show which has gotten very stale and has suffered from bad casting decisions of late.

Oh boy, you’re telling me about those bad casting decisions! The only one they got right recently was Gina Tognoni as Phyllis, but this new Billy? Good lord, I was very willing to give him a chance, and granted it’s only been a few weeks, but I can’t stand him! He just isn’t a great actor, at least not for his part. If they brought him in as Stitch’s brother, I’d be okay with it, but not as Billy.

So disappointed. WHY do they keep adding new characters?
Again and again, and so close together. This is going way overboard.

There sure are a lot of changes at YawneR! Maybe the changes will wake people up!!!

I guess you’ve been snoozing watching Days and have missed all of the change there? 😉

Days of our Lives…HOT AS HELL!!!

I remember Scott Elrod from Men In Trees. I TOTALLY AGREE with CeeCee…WHAT A H-U-N-K!!!!! And…the dude can act, too!!!!! An idea: I think that Y&R should pair his character of Joe with Mariah. To me, that would be WAY MORE INTERESTING than a possible Dylan/Avery/Joe love triangle…BLECH!!!!!

Until next time…D-E-U-C-E-S!!!!!

hook up ashley wth this man candy stat!!! speaking of man candy whrs tyler been lately, he had so much potential when he weaseling his way around lily, now hes been love struck for abby and boring. i loved tyler when he was cocky !! wth averys ex in town, more tyler and maybe bring back carmine i will be one very happy viewer!!1

I had to Wiki his “body” of work

Oye! YES ! he was on “Men In Trees” ABC : which lasted for ONLY 2 seasons

unfortunately

this was one night time serial… I wish found an audience

Love Anne Heche

Wow this dude is a pretty boy, He is a hot man. rumor I heard 3 days ago, is that Jon Hensley ex Holden Snyder as the world turns might be the new Adam Newman. I hope its true, I love Jon Hensley. He is very hot and a wonderful actor.

Hensley is too old to play Adam. Even pushing it and making Adam 40, Hensley is almost 50. Adam is SUPPOSED to be younger than Nick, after all.

How old are you?? Lol. You sound like a 13 year old schoolgirl. You WAY overuse the word “hot”. Jon Hensley is pushing 50.

Seems like Y&R is doing what GH has been doing, creating a whole new soap within a soap? Seems like the executives have this thought, out with the old and in with the new? Well, for one thing, the new actors are usually cheaper than the vets. Either way, lets hope Joe is written well and he can act. GH hired a “Hunk” [Detective West] and he cannot act past his looks! Stiff as a board! No emotions what so ever! Go Joe!

He should have been the new billy because that other actor is just weird looking.

Well, since Jack has moved on with Kelly maybe Phyllis will dally with her sister’s ex?

I had the same thought—- but no pairing will work unless the writing is there and I fear these writers are not up for the challenge.

That would be sweet irony, wouldn’t it, Chaz? Afterall, Avery dallied with Nick, Phyllis’s ex. Full circle…oh, joy…lol. Love your thought-process.

Well, if you can’t write interesting, compelling stories, you can at least cast nice-looking actors, right (even if you saddle them with subpar material)?

I don’t remember much about this guy from Men In Trees, but if he’d been a weak link in the acting department, I’d definitely remember–it was on the whole a well-acted, well-cast show, and he would have stuck out. (Oh, and well-written, too, by the way; hey, Y&R, good writing, you know, maybe you could try importing that aspect from Men In Trees too, while you’re at it? Please? Pretty please?)

Wow, looks like they finally found one with some sex appeal ,,!!!

Wow! That’s all I can say.

Hot.

Hope he gets Avery back and Dylan’s PTSD gets him put into the psych hospital with Patty.

GOOD ONE, Pat…LOL!!!!! An idea: Maybe Psycho Patty can FINISH OFF stiff-as-a-board Dylan…FOR GOOD!!!!! Oh I am SO TERRIBLE (lol)!!!!! Oh, well.

Take care, Pat. D-E-U-C-E-S!!!!!

Dylan, meet Aunt Patty….

Ha!!! That’s right!

MBmomof3…honey, forgive me but I gotta add on to your funny (lol) post. Check this out:

Dylan…say hello to your WONDERFULLY CRAZY AND ENTERTAINING Aunt Patty!!!!! She’s about to do us soap viewers A HUGE FAVOR by sending Y-O-U (boring self and all) into SOAP OBLIVION (or whatever)!!!!! Oh, well. And…so long muscle-head…forever. Yep.

Take care, ma’am.

At least he’s not Dylan. That’s an upgrade right there.

Y-E-S!!!!! And…not only that…judging by that photo alone (or whatever), I think that that Scott Elrod dude is PART BOYISHLY HANDSOME, PART RUGGEDLY HANDSOME!!!!! As for DULL AND BLAH Dylan…well…never mind…LOL!!!!!

Peace.

Not attracted to Scott. He doesn’t do it for me. Steve does. It’s all about preference.

Avery left this guy for Dylan in the first place, Yeah right, hog wash!!!!!!

I would have. Dylan is hot.

he is hot!!1 I need to be playing an actress beside him….Nice!

‘XCITED…..Congratz Scott…I am sooo happy for you!!

Now this is the GUY who should be casted for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. He’s got everything this character is being portrayed in the book. Tall, dark, handsome, cool, gorgeous piercing eyes, handsome-can’t-take-my-eyes -off-him kinda look, etc., etc…..
So please let’s get the word out to Hollywood to get this guy casted for the role of Mr. Grey!!!!!!

You forgot to mention Scott Elrod was amazing in the movie Home Run!

I agree Vicki, yes indeed he should have been Christian Grey

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Published

on

By

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
