Shemar Moore Shares Grief and Remembrances Of Y&R’s Kristoff St. John

They were the unstoppable brother duo on Y&R.  Shemar Moore played Malcolm Winters, while Kristoff St. John played his older brother, Neil.   During Moore’s initial run on the show from 1994-2002; and later returns in 2004-2005 and a short visit in 2014, the Winters brothers had a complicated history.  But, in real life their friendship and closeness endured for years.

Following the tragic news on Monday of the death of St. John, and as the daytime community mourned and grieved Kristoff’s untimely passing, Shemar posted a heartbreaking video post via his Instagram sharing his remembrances, and what Kristoff meant to him both personally and professionally.

The star of S.W.A.T. expressed:  “Mr. Kristoff St. John, I lost my brother yesterday. I’ve never had a brother. But, you were my brother.  You showed me the way.  You were my mentor.  You were my inspiration.  You showed me what true talent was.  You showed me what humility was.   I love you.  I hate this.  I love you.   But I am going to celebrate all of your good.  To my Young and the Restless family – Kristoff St. John AKA Neil Winters – celebrate this man.  The most popular iconic black man in soap opera, daytime history – give him that.  He earned it.

To his personal family: Mia, Allana, his current fianceé (I have never met her), his son Julian (rest in peace), Paris, Lola: his two daughters, cry your tears.  I am crying right along with you, but then celebrate his heart.  Celebrate his goofy ways. Celebrate his talent.  He loved you.  He loved us.  Kristoff sleep, man.  Find your peace.”

Along with the video post Moore also noted: “Mr KRISTOFF ST JOHN….. There is no ME without YOU!!!!! You are MY BROTHER!!! I LOVE YOU!!! Sleep my dude…. REST IN PEACE… I’ll finish what YOU started!!! THANK YOU for YOUR HEART and TALENT!!!!! ”

Watch the touching video from Moore below.  Then, share your thoughts and remembrances of Shemar and Kristoff together on Y&R, and Shemar’s video message via the comment section below.

Me n my mom who along with the rest of my siblings always watched y n r together growing up( in canada it comes on in the pm) cried when we heard. I grew up with Neil! ..along with the hey day of the Malcolm, Dru and Liv quad! Shemar still reps y n r when he can, he and Neil were the best brother pairs in y n r, along with Dru and Liv as my fav sisters. The writing but ofcourse the acting was stellar!

The best thing Y&R can do is to kill off the character off-screen. I think it would be best to bring back Shemar for a few episodes to give closure to the character and the actor. My heart is broken from this.

I think that’s what Shemar meant as he said “I’ll finish what you started” Y and R will send Kristoff off in a very kind and appropriate way. He was there for almost 3 decades. Godspeed, sweet man! You will be missed!

It would be wonderful, James, if they would bring back all of his family. Without saying, I’m sure Shemar is coming back.

I’m still stunned. Kristoff has paid the price that we all have to pay. I’ll see you on the other side.

I wonder will Shemar Moore make a brief return to the show? And Josh Griffith will most certainly write a fitting tribute. Lily needs to be released for the tribute as well. I hope this is a springboard to honor Neil and classic Y&R. He deserves to be honored like the late Jeanne Cooper. That being said, i expect to see Nina, Cricket, Jill, Olivia, Malcolm, Moses(aged), Paul ALL head back to Genoa City for this. Kristoff lobbied hard for Paul to return to the show. This is the chance. Dont screw up Y&R!

Shemar Moore shares his grief in a most touching way…his eloquent words make me lost for my own. Kristoff St. John’s final appearance, hugging/supporting Devon, saving the event with his clever idea, was as heroic as he always was (aired today on Feb 6.) Good to now know Y & R is airing a tribute on Friday, they are acting quickly during such a tragedy. Much respect for Mr. Kristoff St. John–his eternal spirit now soars.

Tyra Banks Exiting ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Yesterday, Tyra Banks dropped a bombshell when speaking with a reporter from TMZ, while out for a stroll.

Banks shared that she’s not going to be returning as host of Dancing with the Stars, and has decided to focus on the business and entrepreneurial side of her career, plus producing behind the scenes entertainment projects.

This morning on Friday, Banks confirmed the news to Deadline.

Tyra had joined DTWTS in season 29 when she replaced longtime host, Tom Bergeron. She also became an executive producer of the reality-ballroom dance competition.

Last season, DWTS streamed exclusively on Disney Plus, and was taken off the ABC network.  During the last season, Tyra co-hosted the show with Alfonso Ribeiro, although she still presided over the ballroom competition.

Thus far, there has been no news of the next season of the series, although it’s expected to return.  In addition to Banks, dancer Mark Ballas along with the previously announced departure of dancer Cheryl Burke, leave the show with some shoes to fill.
