Shemar Moore Shares Grief and Remembrances Of Y&R’s Kristoff St. John

They were the unstoppable brother duo on Y&R.  Shemar Moore played Malcolm Winters, while Kristoff St. John played his older brother, Neil.   During Moore’s initial run on the show from 1994-2002; and later returns in 2004-2005 and a short visit in 2014, the Winters brothers had a complicated history.  But, in real life their friendship and closeness endured for years.

Following the tragic news on Monday of the death of St. John, and as the daytime community mourned and grieved Kristoff’s untimely passing, Shemar posted a heartbreaking video post via his Instagram sharing his remembrances, and what Kristoff meant to him both personally and professionally.

The star of S.W.A.T. expressed:  “Mr. Kristoff St. John, I lost my brother yesterday. I’ve never had a brother. But, you were my brother.  You showed me the way.  You were my mentor.  You were my inspiration.  You showed me what true talent was.  You showed me what humility was.   I love you.  I hate this.  I love you.   But I am going to celebrate all of your good.  To my Young and the Restless family – Kristoff St. John AKA Neil Winters – celebrate this man.  The most popular iconic black man in soap opera, daytime history – give him that.  He earned it.

To his personal family: Mia, Allana, his current fianceé (I have never met her), his son Julian (rest in peace), Paris, Lola: his two daughters, cry your tears.  I am crying right along with you, but then celebrate his heart.  Celebrate his goofy ways. Celebrate his talent.  He loved you.  He loved us.  Kristoff sleep, man.  Find your peace.”

Along with the video post Moore also noted: “Mr KRISTOFF ST JOHN….. There is no ME without YOU!!!!! You are MY BROTHER!!! I LOVE YOU!!! Sleep my dude…. REST IN PEACE… I’ll finish what YOU started!!! THANK YOU for YOUR HEART and TALENT!!!!! ”

Watch the touching video from Moore below.  Then, share your thoughts and remembrances of Shemar and Kristoff together on Y&R, and Shemar’s video message via the comment section below.

Me n my mom who along with the rest of my siblings always watched y n r together growing up( in canada it comes on in the pm) cried when we heard. I grew up with Neil! ..along with the hey day of the Malcolm, Dru and Liv quad! Shemar still reps y n r when he can, he and Neil were the best brother pairs in y n r, along with Dru and Liv as my fav sisters. The writing but ofcourse the acting was stellar!

The best thing Y&R can do is to kill off the character off-screen. I think it would be best to bring back Shemar for a few episodes to give closure to the character and the actor. My heart is broken from this.

I think that’s what Shemar meant as he said “I’ll finish what you started” Y and R will send Kristoff off in a very kind and appropriate way. He was there for almost 3 decades. Godspeed, sweet man! You will be missed!

It would be wonderful, James, if they would bring back all of his family. Without saying, I’m sure Shemar is coming back.

I’m still stunned. Kristoff has paid the price that we all have to pay. I’ll see you on the other side.

I wonder will Shemar Moore make a brief return to the show? And Josh Griffith will most certainly write a fitting tribute. Lily needs to be released for the tribute as well. I hope this is a springboard to honor Neil and classic Y&R. He deserves to be honored like the late Jeanne Cooper. That being said, i expect to see Nina, Cricket, Jill, Olivia, Malcolm, Moses(aged), Paul ALL head back to Genoa City for this. Kristoff lobbied hard for Paul to return to the show. This is the chance. Dont screw up Y&R!

Shemar Moore shares his grief in a most touching way…his eloquent words make me lost for my own. Kristoff St. John’s final appearance, hugging/supporting Devon, saving the event with his clever idea, was as heroic as he always was (aired today on Feb 6.) Good to now know Y & R is airing a tribute on Friday, they are acting quickly during such a tragedy. Much respect for Mr. Kristoff St. John–his eternal spirit now soars.

Ingo Rademacher Speaks Out On His Dismissal From GH Sharing: “I Was Hoping to Play Jax For Another 10 or 25 Years and Unfortunately, That’s Not Going to Happen”

For the first time since he was fired for not adhering to General Hospital’s and Disney/ABC’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate, Ingo Rademacher (Ex-Jax), addressed his exit from the soap opera via an “official video” message on his Instagram account.

Ingo expressed: “I’m sorry that I didn’t put out this video earlier, but this is about thanking you guys, the fans of the show and also the GH crew and cast. I was on the show for 25 years. They were like my family a lot of the people there. I was hoping to play Jax for another 10 or 25 years and unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I want to thank you guys for sticking with Jax for 25 years and I’m sorry that I’m not there anymore to play Jax, which is still something that I am trying to process  … it’s just kind of crazy.”

Rademacher also took aim at his former co-star, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) for announcing on Twitter that he was no longer on the show, before he had a chance to do so, which he says was a huge disappointment to him given that they worked together for 25 years.

He went on to say how he appreciated all the positive comments from the fans adding, “A lot of you come on there to say that you’re vaccinated but stand for medical freedom, I love hearing that, because I believe it should be a choice.”  Ingo continued to express his view, “I don’t agree with vaccine mandates or corporations ever being able to mandate a vaccine to keep your job.”

The actor closed with another nod to the viewers of GH adding, “Thank you so much for supporting me for 25 years. I will have more news later on, but for now, just wanted to thank all of you amazing fans. Thank you.”

You can watch Rademacher’s full statement via his IG post below.  Then, let us know what you thought of Ingo’s long-awaited exit message in the comment section.

OLTL Alum Arlene Dahl Dead At 96, Son Lorenzo Lamas Shares: “She Was The Most Positive Influence In My Life”

Another loss for the soap world and its extended family.  Arlene Dahl, who had a notable career in film and television, and who appeared on both One Life to Live and All My Children, has passed away at the age of 96.

Her son, former Falcon Crest and The Bold and the Beautiful star, Lorenzo Lamas (Ex-Lance and Ex-Hector, respectively), shared the news via his Facebook page: “Mom passed away this morning in New York. She was the most positive influence on my life. I will remember her laughter, her joy, her dignity as she navigated the challenges that she faced. Never an ill word about anyone crossed her lips. Her ability to forgive left me speechless at times. She truly was a force of nature and as we got closer in my adult life, I leaned on her more and more as my life counselor and the person I knew that lived and loved to the fullest. My sympathies go to her loving husband @marcrosennyc who, for the last 37 years, made her life so wonderful and joyous. Love you mom forever ♥️ #ArleneDahl #Moviestar #legend #mom #RIP”

Dahl came on to One life to Live as Lucinda Schenk Wilson, the selfish and manipulative mother of Mimi King played by Kristin Meadows.  Arlene made appearances on the ABC soap starting in 1981 and eventually was offered a one-year contract that took her through till 1984. A decade later, Dahl came on to play Lady Lucille on All My Children for a short time.

On One Life to Live, Arlene mixed it up with Phillip Carey’s Asa Buchanan and Jeremy Slate’s Chuck Wilson.  Dahl is also well-known as one of the regular panelists on the game show, What’s My Line?

While still working in TV and films, Arlene branched out into beauty and cosmetics, eventually becoming an executive and beauty columnist.

Throughout her life, Arlene was married six times.  She had been married to Marc Rosen since 1984 and they remained together till her death.  She is survived by her son Lorenzo, two other children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

As the World Turns and Guiding Light Favorite, Lisa Brown, Passes Away at 67

(UPDATED) In just more heartbreaking news in the soap world in 2021, we have lost another beloved performer.  Lisa Brown, who was so noteworthy for her spunky and emotional turns as Guiding Light’s Nola Reardon from 1980-1985, and later as Iva Snyder on As the World Turns from 1986-1994, has died.

Brown passed away this week on November 24th at the age of 67 following a brief illness.  The news came via the As the World Turns Facebook Fan Group and Soap Opera Digest.

This comes just two months later following the death of her former on-screen love interest Michael Tylo (Ex-Quinton, Guiding Light), who passed away in late September.

Those that followed Lisa’s career know she also starred in the Broadway Musical 42nd Street, while still playing Nola each and every day on Guiding Light.

She is survived by her children: James “Buddy” Nielsen, and daughter Victoria from her first husband Tom Nielsen (Ex-Floyd, GL) in addition to her two grandchildren, Penelope Ruiz-Nielsen and Brayden Hopf, and her second husband Brian Neary.

Brown’s on-screen ATWT daughter, Martha Byrne  (Ex-Lily) simply tweeted, “My heart is broken.”

On Friday, Lisa’s son, Buddy Nielsen, posted a touching tribute to his mother, where he revealed that she passed away due to cancer.

Buddy shared: “My Mom passed away the day before Thanksgiving after a very quick battle with cancer. This all happened really fast and wasn’t expecting it. I’ve been MIA as I’ve been back and forth between LA and NJ as she has been in and out of the hospital the last couple weeks. This dream we live, we are all subject to the suffering, aging and death. It’s not to be morose but to understand that we have finite time and must take care with what we do and how we do it. To be able to be with someone at their last breath is truly beautiful. We must not fear death as without it we would never be born and experience the 10,000 joys and 10,000 sorrows. Our existence is both small and vast all at the same time. We are tiny but immense. I know she is here but no longer in her physical form, what we do in love we leave in death. My beautiful daughter and unborn son are her legacy.”

Share your condolences to Lisa’s family, and let us know of your remembrances of this wonderful actress who gave us so many memorable moments throughout her career via the comment section below. But first, watch Lisa in some of her classic scenes from ATWT and GL.
