Silas Reveals His Secret Past To Sam On General Hospital!

Courtesy/ABC
It looks like the couple now known as “Siam”, none other than Port Charles Silas (Michael Easton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) are headed for some relationship troubles and more … given the long awaited reveal on today’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital!
For several weeks, Silas has been getting phone calls from newly implanted PCPD Detective Nathan West (Ryan Paevey). And if you have not seen today’s episode you may not want to read on, but if you do, here is what was revealed!
In key scenes where Sam confronts Silas, viewers learn that Silas has a wife named Nina! She has been at a special care facility for over 20 years and is for all intent and purposes brain dead. As much as Silas wanted to take his wife off life support, Nina’s well-to-do parents forbid him to go anywhere near their daughter, and have been in charge of her care.
However, that’s not all folks. Silas tells Sam that when his marriage to Nina fell on some rocky times, which is when he visited Ryan’s Bar and met Ava Jerome and had an affair with her. When Silas’ wife found out about the affair she overdosed and tried to kill herself. Sam asks Silas one last question, “Why are the police involved?” And next we learn when the scene cuts to Nathan West talking to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) at the PCPD that he is investigating if Silas had anything to do with his wife taking the pills, in other words … is Silas being investigated for attempted murder… or murder?
So GH fans we ask you, what do you think of the story set-up? Is it intriguing to you? Do you like what the secret is? What do you think will happen next? Will Sam and Silas bond together or break apart as this story continues to pick up steam? Let us know!

‘General Hospital’ Alum Kelly Monaco Reveals She’s Six Months Sober

Longtime General Hospital favorite, Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall), took to her Instagram on Tuesday, September 15 and shared that she is six months, seven days sober from alcohol. Monaco played Sam for 21 years on the ABC soap opera.
Accompanied by a screenshot from the I Am Sober app that tracks the progress of anyone struggling with or trying to not drink, Monaco wrote, “Now the whole 6/7 thing makes sense! #duces.”
Monaco has kept a very low profile since her final episode on General Hospital aired back on October 30, 2024, when Sam had a shocking heart attack and died. It was later revealed that Daytime Emmy nominee, Jeff Kober (ex-Cyrus Renault) injected Sam’s IV with a fatal dose of digitalis.

Soap Alums Remembered During In Memoriam Segment at 78th Emmy Awards; Patrick Muldoon Omitted

During last night’s 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, as it does every year, the television academy paid tribute to those in the industry that they’ve lost over the last year; since the previous Emmys held each year in September.
Starting with an emotional tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara by three of her co-stars, Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy and Dan Levy and Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin, the segment then dovetailed into Noah Kahan performing “Bridge over Troubled Water” as the faces and the names of those being remembered were shown on the screen.
Daytime soap alums, who either stayed in the genre for the majority of their career, or went on to primetime success as well, were honored including: Anthony Geary (Luke, GH), Hayden Panettiere (Sarah, OLTL, Lizzie, GL, Juliette, Nashville), James Van Der Beek, (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek, and Stephen, ATWT), Gil Gerard (Alan, The Doctors), June Lockhart (Mariah, GH), Patricia Crowley (Mary, Port Charles and GH), Randolph Mantooth (Clay/Alex, Loving and The City, and Richard, GH) and Jon Cypher (Alex, ATWT and Arthur, Santa Barbara).

THOSE HONORED AND THOSE WHO WERE NOT
However, in a glaring omission, the producers of the In Memoriam failed to include Days of our Lives beloved star, Patrick Muldoon who played the OG Austin Reed and also Richard Hart on Melrose Place. Muldoon passed away in April of this year at 57.
After Kahan concluded his performance, a special tribute to Rob Reiner began with Jamie Lee Curtis taking to the stage to share some warm words about her late friend.
In a ironic and sad twist, Curtis shared ,“Last week, Robbie won an Emmy for guest actor in a comedy series for his beautiful work on The Bear, and he now holds the record of 48 years for the longest gap between acting Emmys, which was previously held by his father Carl Reiner, at 37 years.”
Reiner, who along with his wife, Michele Reiner were killed by their son, Nick Reiner, is currently awaiting a decision if he will stand trial. Prosecutors on Tuesday, shared they will not seek the death penalty if he is convicted at trial, but instead life in prison. Curtis said of Rob, “He was generous and kind and funny as hell, and a friend to all. We all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year.” The Emmys then faded to black and went to commercial break.
So, were you happy to see those who you know from their work in soap operas included in the 2026 In Memoriam tribute at the Primetime Emmys? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, in case you missed it, you can watch it below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Britt Break Up After Realizing They Can’t Trust Each Other

Trust issues were cited as the reason for the break-up of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) on the Monday, September 14 episode of General Hospital, ending the their complicated romance once and for all.
The episode began with the pick-up of Jason and Britt’s argument over Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) at the Quartermaine boathouse. Britt is in disbelief that Jason continues to take Anna’s side, and that he will not back her up as her witness, as she wants to report Anna’s attempted murder of her to the PCPD.
Jason tells Britt that Anna had been pushed to the brink through the mental torture she’d endured while held captive at Wyndemere, and accused Britt of doing nothing to save her, when she knew exactly what was going on as she was at Wyndemere as well. Britt told Jason that she’d been a victim of Sidwell and Cullum too, and by the time she figured out what was happening to Anna, they had moved her somewhere else.

BELIEF SYSTEM BROKEN
Then, Jason clearly lets Britt know he doesn’t believe her version of what transpired. An enraged Britt fires back at Jason in disbelief, that he is siding with Anna instead of her, when he was on Mount Emerson and saw for himself how Anna was planning to kill her. Suddenly, Britt wants to know if Jason would have helped Anna cover her tracks, if Anna had killed her.
Next, Jason argued that Britt seemingly needs to believe Anna would have killed her when he knows deep down Anna would never have murdered her. Jason thinks Britt is trying to absolve herself of her own guilt and complicity in keeping Anna locked up.
Britt shouts “You need to believe that! Otherwise, you’d have to admit that your friend is unhinged and dangerous. And she would have killed someone you say you love!” Now at a complete impasse, Britt walks out on Jason realizing they don’t trust each other and calls it quits.

PICKING UP THE PIECES
Later, Jason finds Carly (Laura Wright) at the Metro Court, and while in an elevator fills her in that he doesn’t trust Britt, and that as much as he loves her, he doesn’t trust her like he does Carly. Britt is back at the hospital.
A concerned Tristan (Dean Geyer) tries to talk to her about what transpired with Anna. However, Britt clams up and walks away from any discussion.
Now in the General Hospital teaser video for the action on Tuesday, September 15, Jason ask Carly (over beers and a game of pool) “When you lie for a living, how long before you start lying to yourself? Take a look at that below.
Let us know, are you glad that Jason and Britt finally called it quits? What about the reason that the couple broke-up, over Britt knowing about Anna being locked-up at Wyndemere and Jason not willing to back Britt about Anna trying to kill her? Is Tristan the next man for Britt? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section.

This is not what I expected, but it’s juicy. Sam prizes honesty, something Jason did well. This may hurt Siam… I think I’d be okay with that. I like Silas with Carly or Alexis better; even Ava. I’m not sure why because those two have greeaat chemistry – loved them as Caleb & Livvie and Sam & John McB.
Sam does not value honesty. Sam values Sam and what’s good for Sam. If honesty suits her purpose, Sam will be honest. If lying works better, she goes that way.
The woman is a con.
Ok..Silas told his secret today….
I’m glad he told her…..But why did he had to wait for the Police come in
Hottie Cop Nathan!!!!
I think Sam is going to bust the case….+ Silas….
It would be great for Sam and Silas bond over his secret….
But I wonder what Nina might look like…..I betcha she’s gonna look like Sam!!!
But I hope Silas and Sam stay the course!!!!!
but Nathan is a Fine Young Man!!!
How can it be 20 years ago? How old is Silas anyway?
Yes! That was exactly my thought reading this reveal. He was married 20 years ago? And his history with Ava goes back two decades ago as well? Oooookaaaay.
That’s the problem with stretching out a secret the audience isn’t originally in on for so long. Expectations are higher as the “hype” gets built. Then you finally (at long, drawn out, last!) find out and unless it’s really, really good, it’ll bust.
Kiki is 21.
M.E. is 46 so Silas could be the same age…his daughter Lauren(kiki) is like 21…so Silas had to be around 25 when she was born…so Silas was perhaps 23 or 24 when he married Nina. Maybe Nina learned of Silas’s affair with Ava and attempted suicide which left her in a coma but her parents believe Silas and Ava tried to kill her or Silas practice a medical procedure on her without yet earning his medical license and as a result Nina fell into a coma…the possibilities! In any case i bet Silas wont become the Chief Of Staff and Monica will get her old job back!
Well, Michael is 46, so it’s entirely possible that he was married 20 years ago. Sounds like it was a short marriage before she went into the coma.
Kassie de Piva may play Nina…..that’s what I heard..
I might be wrong!!!
Oh, gosh!
wouldn’t that be something…
could this rescue Roger Howarth…
no matter what they seem to try… it’s lost spark and interest is waning.. faster than “paint drying” LOL that is: filler… Carly and Franco
giving Roger a whole new someone… character… would reunite the sizzling through the roof… pairing… ex Todd and ex Blair
heck… make it Tea Delgado
It make sense to make her Tea…..Tea and Sam do have the look…
Hope your right…then if she wakes up she can come to PC and have an affair with Franco!!!
And maybe she really hasnt been in coma as long as Silas has thought and her parents kept this a secret…now Nina has recovered but has no memory of what happened to her…and thats one of the reasons Nathan is investgating…also perhaps Nathan is Ninas secret son and his father is Franco…then K.D. and R.H. could reunite on the show!
I’m pretty sure you’re wrong.
I find this to be very intriguing. I didn’t expect the story to go in this direction. I have read comments that many think Nina will wake up and cause angst for Silas and Sam. I don’t think so because it would be very unrealistic for her to wake up after 20 years and be able to function and communicate well. I definitely feel there is more to the story…Why is this so important to Nathan? Sam needs to forgive Silas! I know she is upset but she has a very sordid past, did she forget? Perhaps she is acting this way because she really cares more for Silas than she thought.
Maybe she hasnt been in coma that long…maybe she woke up years ago and her parents kept the news a secret from Silas!
I can’t help but roll my eyes watching the righteous indignation coming from Sam.
She’s slept with married men, including her mothers husband, almost from her entry on the show – I count three. She’s killed people, watched children be kidnapped, then taunted their mother about it. She’s married men and conned them out of their money. She hired men with guns to threaten children and their mother just to keep them away from Jason, then as recently as last year she got involved and was kissing all over another man who was involved with someone else, while she was married.
So is what Silas did any worse than her list of sins? Has Sam told Silas about her past?
You don’t like Sam right!!!!
Sound a Liasion fan
…..I got it….
Thank you MC! I think we need to be reminded from time to time about Sam’s past (and many other character’s pasts, too!).
It always strikes me as hilarious when these people get up on their high horses, and spout their righteous indignation, when they live in glass house!.
You must be a bitter liz fan, cant talk bout your fav since shes been backburned so you have to hate on sam
What is intriguing for me is why it is so important to Detective West. He looks like an grown up Rafe… could he be Nina and Silas’ son?
Or maybe the dark-haired, blue-eyed look is purely coincidental. Seems the latest handpicked himbo (Detective West) is but the latest in a long line of “Cartini Clones.” As some one who is a fan of “fair-haired boys,” this personal penchant of theirs is driving me crazy….doesn’t anyone else find it extremely odd that there are practically no blond men in Port Charles?????
Just guessing here. Between D and Nathan’s “trading notes” sequence about their respective Bensonhurst and Manhattan birthplaces, along with Silas dropping that he and Nina met at Columbia University which is located on the upper west side of Manhattan (I believe), there may be a tie-in that Nina is Nathan’s older sister. She was with Silas and went into the coma when Nathan was a kid and now as a detective, wants to find the truth about what and who put her in that coma. If Ava gets taken down too that’s a bonus. Only with the solving of the case will Nina be removed from life support. If by some chance they don’t share the same name, Nathan could be a half brother, an adopted sibling, or a close cousin.
Interesting theory but that would mean that Nathan has lied to everyone about just recently being assigned to this cold case. If he’s Nina’s brother on a mission, what took him so long? I think maybe Nathan is either Britt’s brother or ex-husband. Her last name is Westbourne, his is West. They look similar, too.
She’s so going to wake up! When she does we will find out Nina didn’t try to kill herself. Ava forced her to take the pills! When Nina didn’t die Ava got scared. She wanted to protect herself & her unborn child so she stayed away.
I am so sick of them dredging up OLD news from another show and stuffing them down the throats of REAL GH fans. I have been watch GH for
Or over 40 years and don’t give damn about Silas old love life. It is not SAMs problem. Trying to keep an old dead show alive by putting its characters in to choke down. GH will most likely bring reason to eventually hill off general too and replace it with another nauseating intelligence insulting talk show ôrworse a reality show.
GH is the only soap I watch. I am disabled NOT stupid. Please start another NEW soap with its own characters. Not people who are wrapped up in other shows.
We NEED Jason back no matter what he costs!!!
as I read this back I see many problems with spacing, pun
I loved it! Michael Easton is so excellent as Silas. Great acting with both Easton and Kelly Monaco…I was completely thrown off with the story line can’t wait to find out what happens next 🙂
I had the same theory but two things worked against it; Nathan do not seem to have the mannerisms of a person who would have been taught in elite private schools and who would have access to world travel, that you would expect from a person born or raised in wealth and power. I get the feeling Nina’s family is old money New York. Silas would have recognized Nathan’s last name or at least Nina would have mentioned her brother or had some photos of him in all the years she was married to Silas.
There’s no such thing as a dead wife on soaps!
Will it be found that Ava is the cause of Nina’s coma ?
I’m hoping Silas and Sam make it through this roadblock. Their chemistry is so DAMN HOT! Sam and Silas belong together. I hope Sam forgives Silas and they can move with their relationship. I really would like to see how their love story unfolds. As actors they are wonderful to watch! Their New Years love scene was smoking HOT!
I agree with you .. on the chemistry with Sam and Silas
I loved that Silas… put his foot down… “before you kick me out… and want nothing to do with me… YOU are going to HEAR me out”
they may not feature them… as much as we’d like… but.. the writing does reel me back in… good for ME’ Silas… by Sam reaction… I think she needed that and liked his strong backbone
which begs the question… all the couples on GH are on the outs… I was a little surprised, that Lulu was telling Luke that she left Dante
Maxie and Spinelli are a bust
ellie and SPinelli are gone
no more Connie and Sonny
will AJ and Liz heat up?
don’t even get me started on Patrick and Robin… more out than in
even Ava and Morgan are missing.. thanks to Julian
i’m sure there’s more…
save for Britta and Nicholas.. and I thank the heavens for this pair.. LOVE them
so… the writers.. are wringing out all the ethos pathos and logos for … pushing.. Carly and Franco…for the audience to accept them… I will give them, so cute looking together
Heather nuts up and we all rally around Carly… as she tears up…
just saying
This storyline has potential. I’m finally warming up to the Silas and Sam pairing and I think it finally got interesting.
But PLEASE do not make him GH’s Chief of Staff! That is Monica’s job and I need my Quartermaine fix. The Qs are hardly ever featured anymore 🙁
reminds me of Sunny_von_Bülow and her doctor husband Claus.
whoops – got that case mixed up with Dr. Herman Tarnower’s murder case! well, reminds me of both cases! 😀
This is not so much a story as it is just a feeble attempt to create problems and drama. Sam was involved with a career murderer for years and she pegged him as a saint. This should make Silas look like a major hero in Sams eyes using her warped logic.
I think Ava Jerome gave Silas’ wife the pills to overdose because wanted to get her out of their lives. Ava wanted Silas all to herself. But they still have not revealed that Ava killed Connie ( Sonny’s fiancee) and framed AJ Quartermaine.
Best storyline on gh right now. Lots of ways this can go. No doubt that when Sam cares about someone…she goes the distance for them, and I expect she will unravel this mystery. I don’t think Silas or Ava tried to kill Nina. i do think Nathan is related to Nina…maybe he’s even Silas and Eva’s son. She could have been pregnant when she went brain dead. I totally believe Silas was telling the truth when he said he didn’t do it. This is a mystery, and I love a good mystery. I also love a good love story, and it looks like Siam have fallen for each other.
ooops….Meant to say Nathan could be Silas and Nina’s son. My mistake.
