SNL's Vanessa Bayer Shows James Franco … The New GH Franco!

Courtesy/Twitter
If you missed that ever so cute tweet from Saturday Night Live cast member Vanessa Bayer the other day, we have it for you here! As viewers know former General Hospital guest star, James Franco (Ex-Franco) co-hosted this past Saturday’s episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
This past weekend, Vanessa tweeted a picture of her and James looking at Roger Howarth as the new Franco on GH! Howarth became the new Franco after he could no longer play the character of Todd Manning due to the legal issues and dispute between ABC and Prospect Park.
Bayer tweeted, “Showing Franco the new Franco! @JamesFrancoTV @GeneralHospital #GHsuperfan” And in a response, GH head writer Ron Carlivati tweeted back, “Hi, Vanessa. Please tell Mr. Franco he’s welcome back anytime to do the Battle of the Francos!”
So, what did you think of the image of Franco seeing Franco? Would you like to see a story where James Franco returns to GH, and somehow there is a story arc between the two Francos? Comment below!
Yeah more Franco vs. Franco
more CARtoons!
Yes! I would love to see them both on there. Both are great actors! What a show it would be!
Ha ha! Tweets, I am pretty sure Vinman was kidding.
No thanks. Not a fan of James Franco and not a fan of Franco, the character. I wish Roger would have been attached to the Quartermaines or even the Spencers, somehow?
Ive long said RH shouldve played Jimmy Lee’s son that wouldve tied him to the Qs…maybe there is still a chance of that happening…if we are suppose to believe the masks stories, why not have him think he is Franco when he really is a Q???
I wanted Jimmy Lee and Celia back in the Q house for a long time. Yes Roger could be Jimmy’s son. If James Franco came back to wrap up that character it frees up Roger to be someone else and they could write a story to explain it pretty easily.
Haha love the tweet and Ron’s response but the ONLY way I would accept a “battle of the Francos” is if Roger were revealed not as Franco but as…. Todd! Of course that would entail the end of the lawsuit.
In the meantime, the whole identity of the Franco character (between all the parentage retcons and the Howarth character switch) is convoluted enough without doing a Two Franco thing. Three Lukes is enough right now haha!
I think it’s great that General Hospital is getting exposure on SNL, but where’s the love for Days of our Lives? Maybe SNL…an NBC show…will do something big for DAYS’ 50th!
They can do a sketch titled “Days of our Saturday Night Live(s)!
I think this was the actress’ own idea/tweet, not SNL’s. However, I agree NBC should do all they can to promote DAYS!
Well, it’s because Franco appeared on SNL and he’s played a character on GH.
Franco is a cancer and so is the character of “Franco” on GH. It was not needed and now this poor show is STUCK with this horrible sociopath of a character.
I am tired of his face even more so after he poked fun at the Sony breach (for a cheap laugh on SNL) while THOUSANDS of SSNs of employees past and present (not to mention those belonging to dependants of said employees), performance reviews, 401K and healthcare information, emails, home addresses, phone numbers, etc. is all up for grabs – his included.
But when you make millions I guess you do not have to worry about that. Go ahead, James, LAUGH IT UP! 🙁
Sure why not, we can just say Helene brainwashed nuFranco to think he was the real Franco and nuFranco could really be Jason and Billy Miller is really AJ. On this show identities are very flexible.
LOL, Mary SF! “identities are very flexible!” I actually love Roger’s Franco…I think he has more humanity than Sonny, Ava and Julian combined at this point. But if it had gone differently I think he would have made a great nuJason…and Billy a great AJ. (that’s of course only if my much-missed Sean Kanan couldn’t come back.)
Now, that would be entertainment !!!
I would have a great time watching two Francos facing off..
That would be a great time..
James Franco would be a short stay so it would be over quickly, but fun!!
and-
the publicly for GH would be very beneficial, for all ..
(but– it will never happen.. only a dumbass would believe it would happen LOL ..
In a word, no. I would not like to see two Francos. There’s enough of that going around.
C’mon Harry..
It is not about seeing two Francos..
It is;
Roger Howarth and James Franco, the two facing off.. I can’t even imagine how earthshaking that would be !!!!!
Both are great stars/actors and for any soap to have two great ones as Roger and James in a story on screen, is phenomenal ..!!!
Lol
You wouldnt see two Francos…RH would really be someone else…a Q?
hey jimh…maybe we’d find out Jason and Franco really were twins…and Roger’s Franco really is Jason (saved at Crichton and brainwashed to think he’s Franco)…then James Franco would be the real Franco…and Billy would be AJ. Hahahhahha…the hilarious but oh-so-sad truth is they could really pull this off! (if they wanted to but that’s in the what-if category James Franco came back for a stint.)
RC should show Vanessa Bauer the love and invite her too she’s the one tweeting clout the 2 Franco’s and stop the butt kissing of James Franco!
meant to say Vanessa bayer she’s the one tweeting n show her the love and stop being so desperate to get James Franco to do GH again, his buddies JFP & Stevie burton will play their bff card n have Franco guest star on y&r before he does GH agian work on showing genie Francis some love n let’s see Laura!
Missing #Toddmanning #OLTL
Cute and I’m all for it! I love James Franco. But GH had better think this one through and make sure they do it right without destroying the character!
LOL
James Franco is way too busy to come to GH even for a week even for a day lol, not going to happen..
but-it would be great fun!!
GH is a joke and the show is the worst show on tv.It should be canceled.
As much as I belly ache about some GH stories, the last thing I want is for it be cancelled. And it has been more interesting lately.
I am still missing OLTL and AW. I missed AMC long before ABC pulled the plug on it because it bore no semblance to its former self.
Cute scene of her showing him Roger portraying Franco. I guess he doesn’t own a TV – lol. I don’t think James should re-appear on GH, but if he and/or SNL would invite Roger to do a skit – that would be the best!
No.
Please – No James Franco at GH! Once was too much! ug! Like him on the first Spiderman, hated him on GH.
I watched a little bit today and James Franco’s mother was on. Watching her try to act was as painful as listening to Maxie’s vocal fry.
Not wanting to post here, but wanted to let you guys know that Rick Springfield just announced he has joined season two of TRUE DETECTIVE.
that be awesome? but who would let be real franco? i say you let james be the real deal franco and that Roger Howarth is really todd manning trying be franco or that france brain wash todd

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
