On the heels of the casting news that former Days of our Lives and current Hallmark Channel star, Trevor Donovan (Ex-Jeremy Horton) has been cast in the upcoming biopic Reagan, comes word that former The Bold and the Beautiful, Sunset Beach and Dallas star, Lesley Anne Down will also seen in the film.

Down will take on the role of British prime minister, Margaret Thatcher.

Donovan will play Reagan’s longest-serving Secret Service agent John Barletta.

The film is expected to be released sometime in early 2022.

Lesley Anne told the Daily Mail UK on getting the part of Margaret Thatcher: “My husband  (director Don FauntLeRoy) got an email saying, ‘We’d like Lesley-Anne to read a scene as Margaret Thatcher…’ and I said, ‘Oh for God’s sake, this is not April Fool’s Day! Stop it!”‘

Down’s husband went on to explain to her, “No, it’s a proper movie about Ronald Reagan”.   She added that FauntLeRoy said because it was so ridiculous,”You’ve gotta do it!”‘

I don’t really see this working. On the other hand, I would never have cast Gillian Anderson to play Margaret Thatcher and she was quite good as her in “The Crown” so you never know.
