On Tuesday’s episode of Y&R, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) brought Sharon (Sharon Case) back to that fateful stairwell where Phyllis took a tumble which put her in an almost year long coma, and where Phyllis was armed with the ammo to confront Sharon on her duplicity!

Sharon had changed the paternity test results making Summer (Hunter King) Jack’s (Peter Bergman) bio-daughter instead of Nick’s (Joshua Morrow)! On yesterday’s episode, finally Sharon’s “electorshocked” memory was jogged.  She  started to recall the events, complete with new flashbacks with Phyllis (now Tognoni, formerly Michelle Stafford) in that same blue dress, with the same dialog, and lying in the same position after her fall down the stairs … thanks to Sharon!

Now, Sharon is begging Phyllis to let her be the one to tell Nick the truth about what she did! Meanwhile, Victor (Eric Braeden), Jack, and Nick are heading to the stairwell to see what is going down with the battling broads!

Watch the stairwell revisited scenes after the jump! What did you think of them? Was it awkward …  or did it work?, Do you want Sharon to get what’s coming to her for her duplicity?  Comment below!

First of all, I think Gina Tognoni has been doing an amazing job as Phyllis. Y&R was smart to wait a year to recast the role, and it’s clear now why Gina was chosen to play the part. What a great actress.

As far as the flashback scenes, it’s interesting that some of the dialogue that originally took place in the stairwell was recalled by Sharon as having taken place at Cassie’s gravesite, perhaps to get a good closeup of Gina as Phyllis saying “Summer is Nick’s daughter!” Thankfully, a different stairwell was used for the flashback/confrontation scenes because the original stairwell sounded like an echo chamber. All in all, I think the flashback scenes worked, but they weren’t exactly the same as the originals.

A year ago, Sharon was obviously nuts and not making any logical sense. She had already suffered from several years of character assassination by the writers, so it was a brilliant idea to basically press the reset button on her personality by having shock therapy erase her memory of tampering with the DNA test and then have her struggle to remember her “secret.” After the shock therapy, she was essentially restored to the sympathetic character she used to be. Hopefully, with a new head writer coming in, Sharon won’t start acting crazy again for the sake of the story. IMO, she should ultimately be forgiven for what she’s done since her bipolar disorder caused her behavior and her hallucinations of Cassie.

I HAVE HAD IT WITH PHYLLIS! Please give me a brake. Nick said he would love Sharon no mater what. I hope Adam comes back and sees Chelsea with Billy and looks and falls in love the way it should be with Sharon. They ruined the magic and steamy chemisty Shadam once had. It never made sense that Adam fell for Chelsea. They did not have the love and love scenes that Sharon and Adam had. Adam would NEVER ever EEEEEVVVVVVER forget his bestfriend and lover Sharon who was THE ONLY person who ever “GOT” him. Chelsea wa so boring with Adam. BIlly is better for Chelsea!!! 🙂

I agree Kim, Nick rhymes with dick! His father put Sharon through hell and she wanted the secret to come out and Nick said he would stay with her no matter and he LIED! I pray that Shadam gets a second chance. That would be a middle finger to the whole Newman clan!

I will not expand on this, fan male, because you have said exactly what is on my mind….excellent post, succinct and clear.

Seriously I was on the edge of my chair watching that scene today! Did the scene work… Hell yes it worked and their facial expressions were spot on!!

Phyllis is such a horrible person who committs the worse crimes and Victor lets not even start what he has done. Why is Sharon always the one to pay? I hope Adam comes back for Sharon not Chelsea

My heart broke for poor Jack when he realized Summer is not his after all. I don’t feel sorry for Sharon, Phyllis or Nick– just Jack who was truly innocent in all of this mess. I liked the reveal despite the fact it took so long to come out therefore a bit anticlimactic for me as a viewer– yet it was well acted and thought everyone did a good job with it. As always the Newman smugness of “being right” and demonizing poor Sharon wore thin with me– but hopefully Nick after he gets over being mad and hurt will forgive her since she was off her meds at the time this all went down

The only one who truly cares for Summer is Jack. Nick,Sharon & Phyllis are all more worried about how it affects them. Totally disgusted these two women using a child to hang onto the horn dog Nick. So glad the truth is out and I personally have decided Nick is unhealthy for both of them. I guess however it must be written in EB/Victor’s contract that the man always wins on everything. Just about to the point of not watching it again Mary as you know I think a lot of Sharon Case and I think it is way past due for her character to somehow be redeemed.

I think you are correct about EB, he always wins. Has to be a contract thing.
Sharon needs to be rid of all things Newman, not Joe either he would just use her then throw her away. Sharon needs a new man after she gets well. No time soon. Maybe recast Sam, I think that was his name. the writers have just done way too much to her, while w—- Chelsea get a pass. I am so sick of her, Adam never loved her, the writers just made that up to make Chelsea look good..her past is so shady, I ff when ever she is on..please get rid of her or recast!!

It was a good scene.. however nowhere near to GH scenes the past week..
I do not like Sharon I was hoping Phyllis would throw her down the stairs and break her, she deserves worse, but that would do / a full body cast … lol

The acting was good but not notable great..
In comparison to the GH cast performance this week (and always) Y&R falls far behind in acting talent…
Gina is the best recast.. she does well..
Y&R has been the best its been in a very long time, the past week, only from the outing of Sharon..
Cane and Lily are terrible, all they do is sit around doing nothing and horney maul each other/overkill on the PDA..
Dylan and that story is total yawn..
Dylan is a sleeper, his stories have been awful lackluster:(

Still the best EB/Victor, he is near all of what makes Y&R good..

Hope Pratt will turn Y&R a 180, it needs it, badly..

Long Live Y&R!!! (I have hope 🙂

Y&R would be NOTHING without the Newman and Abbott feud.

Who I feel really sorry for, aside from Jack, is Summer. If Sharon had not messed with the paternity test results and if Nick had done a second one when Summer was born, none of this would have happened. Summer would have been able to be with Kyle because that’s what they both wanted, but they couldn’t be together because they were both duped into believing they were related. Things would have been so different if the truth was out back then, maybe Kyle wouldn’t be MIA with no explanation, and maybe Summer wouldn’t have rushed into marriage with Austin, which was a bone-headed move IMO.

As far as Gina goes, I think she’s doing amazing as Phyllis so far. No, she isn’t Michelle Stafford, just like Justin Hartley isn’t Michael Muhney, but I never expected her to be like MS. She’s put her own spin on the character and I think she’s doing a great job.

I agree I really like Gina as Phyllis– the one issue I have is they are not writing anything for the character but anger. I get she would be pissed being in a coma for a year, but I like to see them soften Phyllis up a bit, to see her humor and tender side as well as her tough as nails side. Right now she is coming across a bit too hard—need to give her some other material to work with to see her range of acting, not just angry Phyllis. Hopefully now the whole Sharon thing is out they will begin to do that.

Yes, just as Norman was off his meds, mother was off her rocker! lol

Jack needs to man up and go after the Newmans once and for all. He has been portrayed so weak this past couple years. He always has that aw shucks, damned that Edide Haskell look!

Team Sharon!

Wow Gina Tagnoni and Sharon Case what can you say, great acting and both of them deserve emmys for there work. I love Gina Tagnoni as the new Phyllis, she fits right in.

It was very bittersweet for me to see all of this unraveling. Michelle Stafford was one of my very favorite actresses on my favorite show and when I heard the part of Phyllis was being recast my heart sank. I so looked forward to her scenes each and every day.

That being said, I think Tognoni is doing a respectable job, although I’m not completely sold on her yet. I’m hoping I warm up to this new take on Phyllis, but her diminutive stature isn’t really helping much.

Stafford was such an imposing force, not just in her acting ability, but her size. Gina doesn’t have that trick up her sleeve, so they must rely on a lot of shots of her physically dominating others, like her looming over Sharon on the staircase yesterday. With all due respect to Gina, I can’t imagine how challenging it would be to come in with so much dialogue and have such a huge amount of pressure on her to measure up. I wish her well, but really miss my Stafford. Sigh.

On another note, how fabulous has Sharon Case been? She is one of the most consistent, and overlooked, members of the cast and it’s about time she got her due!

All that being said, I love Y&R, and will — of course — continue to watch, because it’s ridiculously fun entertainment and a bright spot in my day! 🙂

Gina doing an ok job as Phyllis, just don’t like how she plays her, she is more evil than Stafford..don’t like anybody beating up on Sharon!! That includes Nick, he said he would stand by Sharon no matter what!! Writers you better get your act together..That being said Sharon needs to be rid of the Newmans!!

Sue, more evil that Stafford”s Phyllis? Do you not recall Phyllis running over Cricket and Paul?
Gina is doing a great job. I think she is a much better, more nuanced actress that Michelle is who always acted the same no matter what the scene. Her stature is not a problem–there’s only small actors in their presence. Susan Lucci is only five feet tall but was a force of nature because of her attitude.
Sharon Case is also an amazingly good actress and my heart broke for her character as well as it did for Jack.

Sharon Case is amazing!

SC is always overlooked she was great in those scenes no scenery chewing nope my girl leaves the scenery the way it was when she got there. No teeth marks!

Bravo, it did indeed work and Gina is doing a fabulous job as Phyllis. She’s nailing her mannerisms, walk, etc. It’s time for Sharon to pay – it’s way beyond time for us to FINALLY get this lie out.

Haven’t seen today’s ep yet.

The “flashback” scenes didn’t work too well. Did like the new scenes. I hope Nick can forgive. I do feel bad for Jack though. As wel as his family. Abby will probably need need therapy to get straight how Summer is related to her now.

Best was Victor’s expression at the bottom of the stairwell. The classic moustache smirk as he’s the only one there besides the girls that knows exactly what went down!

Victor is the best!

I’ve never bought this whole “case of the bi-polars” diagnosis to explain away poor story choices because now it’s just a license for Sharon to get away with every awful thing she does. What could have been an educational story about a very real mental illness has instead been reduced to an all purpose “get out of jail free” card: Burn down the Newman ranch? I gots the bi-polars. Alter DNA results? I didn’t take my bi-polar meds. Knock a recast down the stairs? You guessed it.

I know that ultimately Nick will forgive Sharon (her bi-polars flaired up, y’all) but all that does is emasculate him and give him an IQ slightly lower than a yam. Nick’s one constant is his love for his children and Sharon’s actions with the DNA switch should be unforgiveable. Even if you buy the whole “poor fragile me” shtick Sharon is working for all it’s worth, the woman is still a trainwreck and life is just too short to put up with that. Who cares if she’s the mother of his kids — if I was Nick I’d have 99 problems but Sharon wouldn’t be one EVER again.

The stairwell scenes seemed a little too easy: after months of Sharon struggling to remember her big secret all it it took was for Phyllis to say “you know what you did, Sharon” and suddenly Sharon was all “oh yeah, I do”? C’mon… (And I’m not even going to get into how ridiculous it was that Sharon would trust her arch enemy to drive her to her wedding.) As for the recreated scenes…well, I guess it was a necessity since they want to wrap up the whole Summer’s paternity story (whatever happened to putting a big secret on the back burner and leaving it there for a few years until its reveal could result in the greatest amount of story ripples?) but all it did was make me realize how much I miss Michelle Stafford. Gina Tognoni just doesn’t work for me in the role — her Phyllis seems pretty much interchangeable with her Kelly Cramer and her Dinah Marler.

Yeah, that was my problem, why would Sharon EVER get in the car with a nut bag who tried to kill Christine and Paul before. Plus, Sharon had the right idea to call Nick before hand and the dastardly red head talked her out of it in 10 seconds!

I guess Alan your selective amnesia is kicking in. Victor, Phyllis, Adam, Chelsea and Nicki have done worst things than Sharon did. Nick is not blameless, he could have had the retesting done years ago. But I get it, you are a MS/Phyllis fan and btw, she did the same thing Sharon did when she lied about Danny being Daniel’s father, but hers was not due to her being ill. Sharon did not “knock” Phyllis down the stairs . They were struggling and she fell. Just like when Phyllis and Dru were struggling and Dru fell off the cliff. Did Phyllis knock her down I know?

Yes, many of the characters on this show have done horrible things but it’s the soaps and few if any have had to really pay for their sins. Hell, Nikki seems to have made accidentally killing someone a past-time — her father Nick, Bobby Marsino’s little brother, Diane Jenkins (although she did have an assist from Deacon Sharpe delivering the final blow in that last example). What I take offense to and find completely unbelievable is the writers taking a very real mental illness and using it as an all-purpose excuse to get themselves out of the corner they’ve written Sharon’s character into. There’s no way Sharon could just keep pulling these stunts and not have to face charges of some sort.

I don’t get the whole “Nick is not blameless” thing. Just because he didn’t get a second paternity test? If we follow that kind of reasoning then Adam isn’t to blame because Delia shouldn’t have been in the road (she shouldn’t have been but don’t EVEN get me started on Billy’s horrible parenting in that case) and Chelsea is blameless in scamming Billy because if Victor hadn’t offered her the money she never would have done what she did. In the words of Nancy Grace “don’t blame the victim.”

And by the way Phyllis paid for her paternity scam by losing custody of Daniel to Danny and for the whole Dru falling over the cliff fiasco by going to prison (remember that snooze-fest of a story? She spent her entire sentence talking to Jana Hawkes and gabbing on the pay phone courtesy of a seemingly endless roll of quarters).

See? No selective amnesia here…

Phyllis is an awful person. She has no redeeming qualities. Playing the victim doesn’t sit well with me – she ran over two people with her car and barely got hollered at.

Maybe Christine can put Phyllis in her place, although she tried didn’t work, the only person that do it is Dru and they won’t bring her back!!

Dude…gimme a break already!!!!! Sharon is A-W-F-U-L herself…HELLO!!!!! Let me see: (1) Sharon KISSED that crotchety old DRAGON Victor…G-R-O-S-S!!!!! (2) Sharon S-L-E-P-T with Victor…MORE GROSS-NESS!!!!! (3) Sharon MARRIED Victor…GROSSEST THING E-V-E-R!!!!! (4) Sharon TAMPERED WITH AND CHANGED those DNA results in order to hang on to that drooling DUNDERHEAD Nick. (5) Sharon really CROSSED THE LINE when she burned down the (REAL AND ORIGINAL!!!!!) Newman Ranch!!!!! BTW, that remodeled Newman Ranch is an EMBARRASSMENT!!!!! Beyond pathetic. Bottom Line Here: Sharon playing T-H-E V-I-C-T-I-M DOES NOT sit well with me…SO THERE!!!!!!!!!

@jaybird yes and I hated the destruction of this character but I still hope someday we will redeem my girl. JFP wanted to get rid of the Newman Ranch set and replace it with a Sears set! So good old Sharon got to burn it!

Jay, Sharon’s character was destroyed in order to prop up Phyllis. Suddenly, the once manipulative, evil, insane Phyllis was the good girl while Sharon took over as the manipulative, evil insane girl.
It looks like the tide has turned again.

Jay and Victor is so innocent right.? He’s done worse.

Nick might or will forgive Sharon, he is badly ….. whipped..
But-
Victor, Summer, Jack, Phyllis, Abby and others will not forgive Sharon..
She near destroyed Summer and two families .. wow!
Imagine what the two families will go through..
Sharon will be hated by many, for sure..
It’s just not about Nick..

Didn’t Chelsea lie about Dylan being her baby’s dad instead of Adam? No one hated her for that, did they? Victor, Phyllis. Chelsea, Adam, Nicki, Jill, Michael, Gloria and Kevin have all done worse things than Sharon did and they are loved, so why would Sharon be hated? The only ones who will hate her are the ones who already do, including you and the rest of Phyllis’ fans. Jack will forgive her.

Y&R’s casting department has been doing a VERY good job lately. I was distraught when my beloved Michelle Stafford left daytime’s titan Y&R for a show beneath her talents. However, Gina Tognoni is knocking it out of the park. The year-long hiatus from Phyllis has lessened the typical jarring effect of a recast, but I imagine GT could have taken over the role even sooner and made it hers. Now, I’m sure Ms. Ordway and Mr. Jenkins are delightful wonderful individuals, but can we fix the Abby and Billy recasts stat please? Let’s get Mr. Tom back where he belongs, and let’s find a less grating portrayer for Abby.

Three strikes Jared! Sorry to disagree but Gina is a bust, Melisa is way better than the other Abby and Burgess is better than David Thom, hands down!

I agree, Jared. Gina is fabulous. I am one of the few who think Stafford is vastly overrated and she chews up the scenery like a ravenous, rabid dog.
Gina is the better actress of the two and I don’t miss Stafford one bit. And I agree with you about David Tom too–he WAS Billy Abbott.

I think Nick will ultimately forgive Sharon, BUT he will NOT remarry her and reunite their family.

I agree. Don’t know how he could ever
feel the same about her, have trust in her
after this. It is just too big.

Sharon tried to do her ‘splainin today. Same ole, same ole. I keep waiting for her to drop the ultimate guilt line to Nick…”You said nothing would keep us apart. You said there was no ‘secret’ big enough that mattered…”

Well, this act of betrayal was beyond Nick’s imagination. And, he is not going to forgive , if ever, for a long, long , long time. Sorry Faith!

Yeah Nick the brain thrust who cheated on her years ago with grace when Noah was a baby and he thought it was Sharon. The character of Nick is such a big stupid jock that we forget his brains would not fill a thimble. I wanted them back together for nostalgic reasons now I just want Sharon out of the Newman nightmare. And hey old Victor fed any rats lately to a spouses lover?

I’m so sick of everyone forgiving Phyllis & Victor for all the terrible things they have done, but Sharon who has a mental illness & lost her memory after the shock treatment is not forgiven. Sharon did not push Phyllis down those stairs. It was an accident. I am going to be so disappointed if the writers put Nick & Phyllis back together. I do feel sorry for Jack though.

i agree that Sharon did not purposely push Phyllis down the stairs. It was an accident, but the circumstance were kinda due to Sharon’s actions, stopping Phyllis from talking to Jack and Nick etc…so, Sharon is in the cross hairs anyway.

Thank you.

I feel sorry for Faith in all of this, too…
but so glad this secret is finally out!
The scenes have been great.

I feel sorry for Faith, too. No wonder soap kids are so screwed up when they age!! LOL

Next up- when will Phyllis find out about Kelly?

Hopefully she’ll catch them in bed! BTW, have you noticed Kelly’s hair is more red than Phyllis’s!

I really don’t like Kelly at all…. or at least I don’t like her with Jack!

No relevance whatsoever since it was Gina on those steps instead of Michelle!

Gina T has really brought it as Phyllis, but that does NOT mean I care for of approve of Phyllis in any way. Phyllis is a malicious bitch with control issues who isn’t nearly good enough for Jack Abbott. I liked her better in a coma. Who is going to form a line to take her down?

I am so sick & tired of E.B. being right and boosting about it. That man makes my skin crawl. That whole damn family stinks and I would love just once to see Sharon call them out on it. Victoria has been married how many times? doesn’t even know who the baby father is. Nikki’s a drunk and a past stripper and Nick the P—k has had so many affairs on Sharon it makes me ill. Even when they lost Cassie that idiot turned to Phyllis. Now he’s sticking his nose down at her REALLY!! She wanted to remember, you told her it wasn’t important. You’r father pushed her into the shock therapy that erased her memory. She even wanted to see a fortune teller and you said you we’re sick of this damn secret and you didn’t care what it was you loved her anyways. MAN-UP you spoiled little punk. Sharon Was Ill ! Here’s what you need to do. Tell you’r father he need’s a hobby and he’s a meddler & to stay out of you’r life, Tell you’s sister to stop looking down on Sharon because she’s a slut, Tell you’r mother she’s an ex stripper and a drunk, then man-up and go marry Sharon and stop whining. And this so called year you claim to have lost with Summer do you really believe an 18 year old is going to hang out with Dad? Let’s remember she’s alive because of Sharon. Sharon found her at the bottom of the staircase when she was on pills, Sharon had the other girl fired, Sharon got her to the hospital & called you not Jack. When she was freezing outside modelling Sharon saved her sorry but and got her out of there. Sharon also helped her with her wedding.

Well said Nikki. Adam was the best at telling them about themselves. When Victor told Mariah that Faith’s paternity was investigated years ago because of Sharon’s behavior, implying sleeping with different men, I was like, isn’t your precious daughter in the same predicament? Victoria should not be casting stones at Sharon. I can’t stand that bunch of malicious malignant frauds, the whole clan. I’ll take the Abbots any day over those Newmans.

Just thinking… Victor did not have enough time to get another DNA, so maybe he used the one he had from Faith’s DNA. Jack said he was going to get another one just to make sure wouldn’t it be something if Summer turns out to be Jack’s after all and although Phyllis did hear Sharon talking in the graveyard to Cassie, she only imagined that she changed it! I for one would love to see old Vic’s face and all the other little Newman’s look then and Sharon could then kick him (Nick) to the curb.

Nikki,
have you been watching?
I FF most of Y&R and I still saw Victor go to Sweden where he paid big dollars to get the DNA test done by a Doctor/whomever, who gave Victor 100% speed and privacy..
Money buys fast DNA tests.. 🙂

also.. Victor was in Sweden, for a number of days, waiting for the test results..

You’r right but he took the hair brush that belonged to Summer and a cocktail glass with Nick’s finger prints on it. The test came back that Nick was Faith’s father which was Summer’s hairbrush but Faith had been using it and had it in her back pack. (Now remember this is a soap-opera) so is it possible that he tested Faith’s hair with Nick’s finger prints? Don’t you think Summer looks more like an Abbott with the blond hair?

Here’s what happened to poor little Summer this last year. She got two fancy cars, two huge trust funds, got a brand new fancy apartment and a felony husband to boot never had to work for a living got to manipulate two daddy’s what one would not do the other would. She also got to run around town whining and complaining and everyone jumping thru hoops to please her. Yep that poor. Little Summer sure had a tough stressful year. Sorry Summer signed evil Sharon!!! 🙂

Don’t know who ya are lady but I love ya. Couldn’t put it better myself except to say now that the truth is out maybe poor little Summer will need a very long vacation and leave town for awhile. A long while (a year would be nice)

Thanks Nikki just had to put some humor into this storyline so tired of watching this brat for a year and her nonsense. I have a family member who has bi-polar and it is not even coming close to the sadness this illness is. It is a revolving door just when they start feeling better they go off their meds and we deal with it again it is basically the modern day as I will say term for actual schizophrenic behavior.

k/kay…Y-E-S…THANK YOU!!!!! But…now that Sharon’s secret is O-U-T in the open, I have a feeling that this will give that WHINY AND SNIVELING Summer something else to cry about. So therefore, uh-oh…more WAH WAH WAH WATERWORKS aka Summer are on the way…LOL!!!!! Dumb as hell.

Take care, k/kay. Peace.

HAHAHAA…. Thank you. Sry but I have HATED summer since day 1. Ugh, I cringe with her and austin and she truly is a spoiled lacklustre chracter and extremely annoying. I wish HK can go to some other soap or disney thing and write off her role.

Phyllis may be an awful person with a treacherous past, but she’s interesting. Boring is the biggest sin in daytime drama. I certainly hope I’m not the only one way back then who was rooting for Phyllis to squash “the bug”. hehe

I hope Phyllis beats the hell of Christine, slash cricket the bug lol. I love Gina Tagnoni she is doing a terrific job as the new Phyllis. I also want to see a cat fight between Sharon and Phyllis.

I agree with every word, Nikki. Well put!

Everyone in this storyline has brought their A game! I’m a fan of both Sharon and Phyllis. Keep rockin’ it Y&R!

@Timmm

Heyyyy, Timmm. I must agree with you. As much as I abhor Victor, Y&R would be lost without him or the Abbots. These two families are the focal point…they create tension, aversion, diversion, suspense, disgust, passion, love, and all the ingredients due to create some of the most tumultuous plots we have seen through Y&R’s existence….later.

WOW. So many things lately on ynr.
Loving Gina as phyllis.. She nails all the parts.
Team sharon in this case though. Nick turned asshle like completley overnight. Its called an illness for a reason and he knew goingg into the reelationship how things were. The writers need to make everyone more compassionate I’m sry. And phyllis needs to stop with the ignorant name calling.
Also, summer is a grown woman and its not like she was taken from birth and never had love pllz she’s lucly. Just poor jack….. I hope sharon gets validation it was basically a mistake due to illness. I didn’t like the way all the memories came back right away either.. Hoping adam saves sharon again. They were good together.

Hating GT as Phyllis because she comes across as sub-human. Hard as flint and vicious. I couldn’t take the years of The Phyllis Show with Michelle Stafford in the role, and I’m not about to keep watching to see a redux with Gina Tognoni now in the role. I’ll pass on watching if that’s what’s coming. Phyllis should have just died in that coma as I saw everyone moving on just fine with her gone.

As for the flashback scenes, no I don’t think they worked. I am incensed at how stupid the writers think we are that we would buy Sharon going ANYWHERE with Phyllis, never mind on her wedding day. I just cringed at the idiotic writing in that scene at Sharon’s cottage and then the ease at which Phyllis was able to get Sharon to remember – after all these months of her not being able to remember – what “the SEKRIT” was. I’m just ready to quit watching this dog pile they call writing. Sharon gets whipped and vilified again, while Phyllis and Victor are always the gloating victors, and Jack loses to Victor. Again. Where is the surprise here? What’s different than what we’ve been tortured with for the past several years? Where’s the drama in any of these stories when you already know how it’s going to end?? I’m done with this kind of *ish writing. Done. Y&R doesn’t deserve the #1 spot and I really hope they lose that ranking. The show has become a disgusting joke.

Sharon tied a string on the top step so Phylis would fall.

‘General Hospital’s’ Tanisha Harper Opens Up About Being a Recast for the Role of Jordan Ashford

On General Hospital, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) is having her own crisis to deal with since the accident that scarred and disfigured her face. In addition, the man she loves, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was just hauled into the PCPD for punching out Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson). Curtis is determined to put the blame on Dr. Gannon for being the driver of the other car.

Such is the drama that Tanisha Harper is currently involved in on the long-running ABC daytime drama. Harper sat down with hosts Rebecca Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Greg Rikaart (Leo, Days of Our Lives) for the latest edition of their Soapy podcast which dropped on Tuesday.

As GH fans know, there have been a total of four actresses to play the role of Jordan. Vinessa Antoine (2014–2018), Briana Nicole Henry (2018–2021): Tiffany Daniels (2021) who temporarily filled-in for Henry while she was recovering from Covid-19, and Tanisha Harper (2022- present).

FINOLA HUGHES WAS A BIG CHEERLEADER FOR TANISHA

Tanisha recalls her screen-test for the role which was actually with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Finola Hughes (Anna): “They were wonderful. I just adore Finola.  I remember when I had finished one of the scenes, and I think we were doing another scene, or another take in a different way, and she was like, “You got this. You’re gonna get this.”  She was so positive, so great, and just so lovely and it made me feel so good.”

BECOMING THE NEXT JORDAN ASHFORD

In addition, Harper shared how she really didn’t know what part she actually would be playing till shortly before her first day on set. “There were two other Jordans, and then there was another girl before me and Brianna,” she detailed. “Initially, I didn’t know that was the role I was going for. So I thought it was for the district attorney. Once I had booked the job, I think about a week before when they sent the script to me, they’re like, ‘You’re going to be playing the character Jordan.’ Even though she been played by two other girls, they didn’t want me to go in and try to emulate how the other girls did their performances. They just wanted me make it my own, and do my own thing.  I think that helped. I didn’t really know anything about the character at all, and it was kind of hard at the time to see online other people’s performances. So, I was forced to make the character my own.”

JORDAN’S INSIDE JOB TO TAKE DOWN SIDWELL

Recently, Jordan went back to using her undercover skills to infiltrate Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) organization and get the dirt on his crimes. As she explained her character’s current plight, “Jordan decided to take it upon herself to go undercover to get this bad guy Sidwell, who’s come into town. So I resign from my position, and now my character has been working for him undercover, but he’s a very wealthy man. So my character, she was enjoying that life. She’s all of a sudden walking around with her fancy bags and her cars, but she’s still undercover. Now, Jordan was in a big car accident and now her face is all scarred.” Viewers need to stay tuned-in to GH to see what happens next!

Watch the full conversation with Tanisha on her visit to the Soapy podcast below.

Now weigh-in, do you think Jordan will eventually get the goods on Sidwell, or is she useless in this situation? Will she wind up needing Sidwell to get her to some specialist to help remove the scars on her face? What do you think about Tanisha’s process to becoming the recast Jordan? Let us know in the comment section below.

KUDOS FOR HER CO-STARS

Speaking with Access Hollywood, Deidre shared how affected she was by seeing those she work with taking time to honor her five decades contribution to the soap. “You look out and see this face, and this face, and this face, and think, ‘I know all of you. I’ve worked with all of you.  I’ve suffered with all of you.  I’ve wept with all of you. I mean, it’s just a family.”

Deidre was surprised by videos played to her during the celebration from Alison Sweeney (Sami), Thaao Penghlis (Tony) and Leann Hunley (Anna), plus The Young and the Restless icons, Eric Braeden (Victor) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki).

RYAN GOSLING/DEIDRE HALL COLLAB UPDATE

With 50 years and showing no signs of slowing down, Hall recently learned she had another big star who also admired and adored her, three-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling.

Hall gave an update if a collab with Ryan is in the cards? We know Ryan’s partner, Eva Mendes is all for it! “I’ve been in touch with Eva, and she’s amazing and generous, and kind and thoughtful,” teased Hall. “So, I hope we all get to go toe to toe at some point.”

Over the weekend on May 16, former Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place star, Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed) was laid to rest in a celebration of life service attended by many who worked and knew him in the DAYS family. The mass was held at the St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California.

Muldoon passed away back on April 19 when he had a sudden and fatal heart attack. The fan favorite actor was 57-years-old. The coroner’s report and death certificate reportedly indicated that underlying causes included: pulmonary embolism and coagulopathy disorder, a genetic condition that impairs the blood’s ability to form clots properly, were involved.

Galen Gering (Rafe, DAYS) posted an incredibly touching video montage, showing the handout of the celebration of life mass for Muldoon. Then, the lyrics to one of Muldoon’s beautiful songs, as he was also an accomplished singer and songwriter. That was followed by a photo of Christie Clark (ex-Carrie, DAYS), Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, DAYS) and himself, and then one of Patrick with Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail, DAYS, now Kristina, GH). At the end of the compilation, Gering wrote, “We will never forget you, Bruv.”

Kate Mansi shared a photo on her Instagram Story with Galen, Christie, Alison and herself from the the Celebration of Life expressing, “One beautiful day celebrating the spirit of Patrick Muldoon. No surprise it was as authentic as you my friend.”

Rodney Peete, the former USC football star also attended and took to his Instagram and shared, “Tough Day saying goodbye to my friend Pat Muldoon!!! He was my Teammate, My Brother, My Friend🙏🏾 miss you already brotha!!” It should be noted that while Patrick made his career in acting, he was also quite the athlete when he was growing up, including playing tight end for the USC Trojans in the 80s.

In addition, Patrick Muldoon’s ex-girlfriend and dear friend Denise Richards’ (ex-Shauna, B&B) daughter Sami Sheen was also in attendance and shared a snap of the handout for the service on her Instagram.

Soap fans first saw Muldoon as Kate’s (Lauren Koslow) son on DAYS back in 1992, where he quickly became pat of the love story between Austin Reed and Carrie Brady and of course, Carrie’s sister, Sami, wanting Austin for herself! Patrick left the series in 1995. He later made a comeback for appearances in 2011 and 2012.

On Melrose Place, Muldoon played bad buy Richard Hart from 1995-1996. He launched his acting career while in college landing the role of Matt in the 1990 sitcom Who’s The Boss? alongside the likes of Judith Light (ex-Karen, OLTL) and Tony Danza. Following his graduation, Patrick nabbed a recurring role as Jeffrey Hunter in Saved By The Bell by 1991 and the rest was history.

Now below, take a look at the images from Patrick Muldoon’s celebration of life and remembrances from Galen Gering. Then let us know, were you touched to see Patrick’s DAYS colleagues in attendance to remember one of their own? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
