‘Station 19’ to End With Season 7 in Cancellation Shocker
The first responder drama, Station 19, will end after its upcoming seventh season on ABC. The network made the cancellation decision early enough in production of the new season in order to give the writers and producers time to craft a satisfying ending to the show.
Station 19 has been the spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy. The decision comes as surprise as the series was ABC’s No.2 drama behind ‘Grey’s.’ Throughout its run, the drama spotlighted many social issues of our time including systemic racism.
The final season will now consist of 10 episodes. Before we say goodbye, Station 19 will hit the 100th episode mark. Prior to the Hollywood strikes they had aired 95 episodes.

Season 7 will debut on March 14th, and the drama series is also shifting time slots from 8 PM to 10 PM on Thursdays. It will now follow Grey’s Anatomy as opposed to being its lead-in.
In a statement, Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group, related: “For seven seasons Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling. With Zoanne (Clack) and Peter (Paige) at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode.”
Station 19 is set in Seattle, as is Grey’s, and tells the stories of the lives of the men and women at Seattle Fire Station 19. The cast includes: Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George (ex-Sunset Beach), Grey Damon, Barrett Doss, Alberto Frezza, Jay Hayden, Okieriete Onaodowan, Danielle Savre, Miguel Sandoval, Boris Kodjoe, Stefania Spampinato, Carlos Miranda, Josh Randall, Merle Dandridge, and Pat Healy.
Former Y&R star, Lachlan Buchanan (ex-Kyle Abbott), and General Hospital favorite, Kelly Thiebaud (ex-Britt Westbourne), also appeared in the series.
So, shocked to hear ‘Station 19’ is coming to an end? Comment below.
Well… now all that remains is for them to finally admit that this will also be the last year of Greys Anatomy, because it’s been obvious for the last few years that going 20 seasons was the game plan.
Only reason they haven’t announced that yet is probably because the strikes have left them with a short season, and the 20 episode final season they likely had plotted out would either have to be cut short or condensed somehow.. Probably the best way to do that would be to NOT dwell too much on one particular topic for most of the season… like they have the last 2 or 3 years.
Oh wow what a shock and disappointment; I love this show. Clearly ratings don’t matter – what were they thinking and the Disney President’s comments don’t mean much either. If its as great as he says he is, and #2, why the cancellation. In the meantime, they keep the tired Grey’s, which reached its “sell by” date several seasons ago, on for over 20 seasons.
Really upset by this cancellation.
GH could find a new roll for Kelly Thiebaud. A cousin or something, as back from the dead is too overused.
Kelly has a great career in front of her. She chose to leave GH – no need to woo her back.
I realize that.. just nissing a good character.
Still miss OLTL.. but have given up on that too.
