Steve Burton’s ‘General Hospital’ Return Previews Jason Has Blood on His Hands
Monday, March 4th is the day that Steve Burton returns to General Hospital in the pivotal role of Jason Morgan. The story of Jason’s re-emergence on the canvas has been kept under wraps.
However, PEOPLE has a first-look photo, and in it, Jason has blood on his hand. Not only does he have crimson on him, but he is dressed in black and standing behind a dumpster.
When viewers last saw Jason it was back in November of 2021, when a tunnel collapsed on him as he was attempting to save his brother Drew (Cameron Mathison). For the past two plus years, every one in Port Charles has believed that Jason had died.

Burton’s initial run as Jason was from from 1991 till 2012. After exiting and signing on with Y&R to play Dylan McAcoy, the actor eventually returned to the daytime drama that was his home in 2017. Later, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he was let go from the series by the end of 2021 for not adhering to the Disney/ABC vaccine mandates at that time.
While away from GH, he rejoined the cast of Days of our Lives in 2023, resuming his original soap role of Harris Michaels that he played in 1988 and the year prior on the Peacock limited-series Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter Two. With the tape schedule well ahead of streaming, Burton will be doing double duty for a short term, where fans can catch him on DAYS, and now on GH.

Previously, Burton said on his upcoming GH storyline, “I got to talk to the head writers. This story is going to be sick. It’s gonna be awesome. So, make sure you keep watching, because the pieces of the puzzle are gonna be fit for when I return.”
Fans should also make sure to catch today’s Friday, March 1st episode of GH as Jason’s return story begins to unfold.

Ugh, here comes one-note Burton. What a waste of airtime. There are so many people on the show who can act and who bring something interesting to the table. He is a cardboard cutout who recites lines the same way on every show. I really resent that he is going to dominate the space again.

If you’re new to GH, unless you read up on “Jason’s” history you won’t understand the character, and might not understand why so many of us absolutely hate Carly (unless you read up on her history; she’s a horrible, vindictive, self-righteous, “person” and has been for decades) and Jason’s closeness to her.

First of all, Lori, it was Trump who fast forwarded the production of the vaccine because he wanted to take credit for it and have it available for the 2020 election. He refused to wear even a mask in public, and ridiculed those who did. He held rallies with no masks required. He made people sign a waiver before they attended his indoor rallies that they nor their families could sue him if they caught it there. He then caught it himself and was deathly ill. He needed oxygen and special treatments. He THEN got the vaccine himself. Do they have risks? Yes; all vaccines and all medications have risks. If you watch any commercials on TV for all sorts of meds, they will tell you how wonderful your life will be and how much you’ll approve, and then at the end they warn of strokes, heart attacks, etc that could happen from the meds. Unfortunately, nothing is without risk, even things that are supposed to protect us.
Second. There is NOTHING about PRESIDENT BIDEN that is a “fool.” He has dedicated his entire life to this country, unlike Trump who lived a spoiled, entitled, life, hobnobbed and desperately wanted to be accepted by the Hollywood crowd and New York crowd for decades, lived his life ripping people off, conning them, and before becoming President (which is what’s horrible about out system. He lost the first election by over three million votes, but won because he got a handful more electoral votes but I digress) he was a reality star; “The Apprentice.” And yet somehow he’s conned all of you into thinking he’s the self-proclaimed “genius brain” and that he won an election that in reality he lost. He takes his supporters money, he plays with your health, and yet you think he’s “for” you. President Biden? I don’t know how old you are but he’s fighting to preserve Social Security and Medicare. He’s fighting to keep Affordable Health insurance. He’s fighting against pollution, toxins, and all the things that make the air we breathe unsafe. Trump? He fights for the rich, he’s fighting to keep himself out of jail, he’s fighting for power, and he sides with Putin who poisons his enemies. And somehow this either escapes people like you or you think that’s fine.
Steve Burton had every right to not take the vaccine; we all had that right. No one was forced; we were given a choice. And that choice was given because we were in the middle of a pandemic; a worldwide pandemic. And in America? Over one million people have died, others have had amputations and lung damage. Many were lying on vents. As you know, no one has to make a choice whether to lose their job or take a shingles shot, a flu shot, etc. THIS virus was new and more deadly. There was a reason to take this extra precaution.
Steve handled it correctly. He accepted the choice, made his, and didn’t burn bridges. That’s why he’s back and the Jack/Jax ass isn’t.

If you do not think those vaccines were bad you have been living under as rock. My 50 year old son who was healthy as a horse now has such severe heart disease he may have possibly 2 years to live. Maybe the AMC transplants are on a “rotational” basis? They had to give Marty a vacation so they could bring in Blaze’s mother. As soon as she’s gone, Marty will be back. Unless they have to bring back the Jackie Templeton recast for Chase’s wedding. Then he might have to stay gone a little longer.
I’m only half serious here, of course. I have no unholy verification of this being the case. But not having too many AMC transplants on the canvas at once would at least avoid the appearance of a takeover, like was definitely the case with the OLTL imports back in 2012.
Many of us love Nina contrary to the whining Carly fans who can’t differentiate a good character from a vindictive, malicious, one who think she’s “changed,” when in fact she’s been that way for the entire thirty years she’s been on the show. All the Carly arse-kissing in-stories has got to stop. Many of us are sick of it and have been for years.

Sonny has the most dull, monotone voice ever. Delivers every line like the last. I LOVE HIM! But hardly fair to say Jason is lousy actor for same reason. Jason was great character for lot of years and helped make the show, beside Sonny, become what it is today.

Jason cannot be brainwashed. And Cyrus was in prison for most of that time, so clearly not the guy who could have dug Jason out of a collapsed tunnel on Cassadine Island, probably paid his medical bills, and then reprogrammed him… if that were possible, which it isn’t.
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that the shooter is Morgan Stone Corinthos. And at some point, Jason became aware of this, and he has been tracking Morgan, hoping to capture him alive and get him deprogrammed.
If you’re going to call someone uneducated for daring to have an opinion about a soap actor/character than your own, please be sure you understand the difference between your and you’re. Otherwise, you become what you accuse the other person of being.

How do you judge #1? Ratings wise, Y&R has been in first place since before the character of Carly was introduced.
Stop tellling people who they should or shouldn’t like on a TV show. A viewer doesn’t have to like who you like. As for Jason, Sonny, and Carly making GH number one? GH hasn’t been number one ever as far as I know; certainly not in decades. And many were sick of GH turning into the Jason/Sonny/Carly show; we wanted more stories with the vets and legacy families. To each their own; you might want to remember that.
GH hasn’t been number one for decades. The last 10 years the ratings have really declined. Many viewers tuned out due to the Carly centric storylines. Many of us are sick and tired of Carly. Hell, even Maurice Bernard is tired of her.
If you think that Steve Burton can’t act, go back to the scenes where they thought that Jake died as a child. The fact that he had to grieve alone, nobody knew that Jake was Jason’s son except Lucky, Elizabeth and Jason.
Who knows how this Jason is going to be after escaping death this time.
There is something about Jason’s presence that no one else brings to the soap and when he speaks, everyone listens. If you look at all the characters, he’s the one that makes everyone stop what their doing when he enters a room. He has that indescribable thing that everyone goes crazy for. I’m a lesbian and even I get excited to see him when he’s on my TV lol

He is full of laughter and is very humble for all his opportunities! Without Sonny and Jason, the show takes a dip! Reading all the political discussion in this article is unsettling. I watch and love GH to get away from constant political discussion, just for the one hour break from “reality” the soaps give us.

Todays episode hasn’t aired in Hell yet, so I’m not sure what happens today to set this all up. But when Mikey asked Joss to bring Dex back to town, something popped into my head….
Jason & Dex have never met. Somebody probably told Dex about Jason at some point, considering he’s been close to Sonny, Michael, and Joss, but I’m not sure he’s ever seen a picture. On the other horn, Jason’s been AWOL for nearly 2 1/2 years, so unless he’s somehow been able to keep tabs on everything taking place within the world of Corinthos Coffee, LLC. he wouldn’t have any idea who Dex is.
So if there’s a random meeting between these two, each one will probably assume the other one to be a threat, and start shooting. If that happens, it wouldn’t end well for Dex, because when Jason shoots, he doesn’t miss. While Dex, on the other horn, couldn’t hit the broadside of a coffee warehouse, if his past performance is any indication. So whose blood is on Jason’s hand?

Some of the Chat GPT rumor bot channels on YouTube have been floating that idea, but it’s frankly not possible. Jason’s whereabouts are accounted for from the moment he was SORASed in 1991, up until he was shot in the back and kicked into the water by Faison in a dumb Duke Lavery mask in 2012.
During which time he fathered exactly two children. Jake, with Liz and Danny, with Sam. Obviously Dex is older than either of them. I suppose it’s technically possible that Jason might have fathered a child while he was a drugged up zombie in Heiny’s Russian clinic from 2012-2017, but that kid would be at least two or three years younger than Danny, so obviously that isn’t Dex

A wedding which only happened because Nina allowed everybody to believe Sonny was dead for almost a year, nearly leading to a mob war & a repeat of the “clink boom” limo bomb incident… which at least was diverted to the proper limo in the end, that being the car of the two idiots who sent the bomb as a “wedding present”. Thanks to an assist from Selina Wu who tipped Jason off to the plot at the last minute. It would be a stretch to say Selina is a friend of Corinthos Coffee, LLC. But at least she’s a smart enough business woman to know that Sonny & Jason make better allies than enemies.

He just survived a shooting… ordered by Redneck Clyde, and carried out by Stefan DiMera – who ironically looks exactly like Johnny Zacchara. And then Stefan tried to finish the job in the hospital with a loaded needle, but Harris (Jason) took him down, wearing nothing but a hospital gown.
It was a classic Jason move, even if they want to call it otherwise. But he may still fall victim to Redneck Clyde’s drug syndicate eventually, since he obviously can’t stay in Salem. It’s not going to be another Ned/Justin thing where he can continue on both shows, because Wally’s recurring, and Steve is on contract.

There are a few “dead guys” who could be involved with this:
Jason is returning, but he cannot be brainwashed, and there’s zero chance he turns against Sonny in his right mind.
Lorenzo Alcazar – The whole Pikeman business model – weapons trafficking with the help of rogue intelligence agency operatives – is exactly what Alcazar and his brother would do.
Morgan STONE Corinthos – In his right mind, he would never attack his own father. But Morgan survived a car bombing, which may have wiped his mind, just like Jason’s was wiped in AJ’s drunken car wreck over the Hellidays in 1995. And if somebody like Alcazar took in the wounded Morgan, he could have easily programed him to be used as a weapon against his own family.
It’s obviously not Stone Cates. Some deaths simply cannot be unwritten, even on soaps. A slow painful death from AIDS would be one of those. And though Jagger named his son Stone, it’s not likely to be him either. He would be in his late teens at the most (he was 5 or 6 on Night Shift) and this sort of international operation is not going to be in the hands of an Autistic teenager.
There’s always the slim “snowballs chance in Hell” possibility it could be Jerry Jacks, who is also presumed dead. But Jerry has never been in Port Charles when his brother wasn’t around, and Jax is not likely to ever return. . Also Jerry was always the mercenary “terrorist for hire”, never the guy calling the shots. If he were involved, it would only be because he was working for Alcazar.
Now here’s a bit of speculation… If indeed it IS a brainwashed Morgan, there’s always the chance that Jason has been “tracking” Morgan, and trying to capture him alive. After all, who would know better what it’s like to have your mind completely wiped clean and have to become a completely different person, more than Jason?
Jagger also has a son named Stone; however, he’s not dead, as was referred when speaking of this killer.

How utterly ridiculous was that line that Carly “turns the other cheek.” And what else can they throw in to make Nina seem inferior to Carly, to say that Carly put out THE most successful issue of the magazine? It’s truly obnoxious. Is there intent behind it? Are the writers really that clueless? Were they kissing up to Carly fans? Do they think that the more they have Carly win, the more talk and anger it generates between viewers which in turn “keeps em talking?” There is no rationale for that type of absurd dialogue that is in complete contradiction to who Carly is, her vindictive nature, who NEVER turns the other cheek, or that she would suddenly just topple Nina’s achievements. We can only hope the new writers balance the stories, or there’s no point to bringing on a new team.

Do you not watch mainstream news outlets or have relationships with people who were vaxxed? The vaccinne has saved thousands and thousands of lives. I think that the WSB found Jason and flew him to their hospital where he was in a coma. When he woke up the WSB offered him a deal in exchange for helping them with the elusive “Stone” who’s been taking out mob bosses in Europe. Jason agreed and has been working towards catching this “Stone” figure,being dead allows him to move about without notice. I believe that this “Stone” character is Jagger, or Agent John Cates, he’s using his dead brother’s street name so everyone believes a ghost is calling the shots. Sounds good doesn’t it, let’s see how close I am?

Richard Simmons Recalls His Time On General Hospital and Meeting Tony Geary, Genie Francis, Rick Springfield and More
Fitness Guru, Richard Simmons has been recently sharing many stories about his time in Hollywood and his career on his X account as he reflects on his life and prepares his biopic.
In a string of posts, containing moments from his time on General Hospital, and meeting many of who would be his co-stars in Port Charles, Simmons opened up about how he landed on the soap in its hey day.
Simmons began by explaining that after an appearing on an ABC local morning show with Regis Philbin, he got a call two days later about GH, and things took off from there.

Richard expressed, “I met with the most powerful woman in daytime television. Gloria Monty. I also met with the head writer Pat Falken Smith. These ladies were very smart. They told me their idea. I would teach exercise classes in a disco for all the ladies on the show.” He added, “A week before taping the show the studio asked me if I could drive over and do some promotional photos. In my car I brought with me six jogging suits….My make up…some towels and five pound weights. I still could not believe I was going to be on a soap. lol.”
When he got to GH’s studio, Simmons shared, “The first person that I met was Genie Francis (Laura). Her father was Ivor Francis an actor who had been on Broadway and many TV shows. Genie was so young and innocent looking. I clicked immediately with her.

“The second person I was introduced to was Anthony Geary (Luke),” recalled Richard. “Some people called him Tony. ..but I did not. He was an actor’s actor. Mr G had curly hair like me. When he was not acting he was sitting in his dressing room learning all of his lines. His door was always closed. One day when it was open. I asked if I could come in and sit and talk. This man won 8 daytime Emmys for playing Luke.”
“Now what can I say about Jane Elliot (Tracy)? She had an aristocratic face,” says Simmons. “One moment her character was very nice then she was the queen of mean. She allowed me to come into her room and chat while she was putting on makeup.”

Then, Richard recalled the late, great Stuart Damon (ex-Alan) and Jackie Zeman (ex-Bobbie). “I then met Prince Charming. Stuart Damon. He had been in a lot of TV shows and played Prince Charming on a special about Cinderella. Jackie Zeman was so cute. She had a pixie face.”
Simmons recalled when Rick Springfield joined the cast as Noah Drake, sharing, “While he was on the show his father passed away in Australia. I went to the news stand and bought him a bunch of magazines to read on the plane. How many times have you sung Jessie’s Girl and Don’t Talk to Strangers? When he came back from Australia he resumed his role.”

Noting his humble beginnings on GH running the aerobic classes at the Campus Disco, Richard recalled, “My first scene was in Luke’s Disco. All the nurses and other actresses were there dancing with me. I had never memorized lines before. So much was going on in my head. At the end of my scene, I heard the sound of heels clicking on the floor and everyone froze. It was Ms Monty and she was talking to me. ‘Richard the television is this big . You are talking like you are on a screen in a movie theater…bring your voice down.’ So I did.”

Tristan Riggs is General Hospital’s New Aiden
Looks like there is another new actor in the younger set on General Hospital. Tristan Riggs is taking over the role of Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Aiden.
Previously, Enzo De Angelis played the part of Liz and Lucky’s (formerly Jonathan Jackson) son since 2021. Soap Opera Digest confirmed that Riggs is now firmly in the part.
The switch happened on today’s Thursday May 2nd episode in scenes. Recently, Aiden came out as gay to him mom after admitting his interest in one of his classmates.

As Riggs begins in the part, it looks like Aiden is being bullied at school. Elizabeth is trying to get to the bottom of things and made an appointment with school counselors to find out what’s going on, after seeing his book bag had pink paint on it.
Riggs has been acting since he was 7-year-0ld and has appeared on the TV series Walker, True Lies and Best Foot Forward to name a few.

Juliet Donenfeld is the Temporary Recast as General Hospital’s Georgie
Those who saw the GH preview for today’s May 2nd episode were a bit confused when they saw a young actress sitting with Lois (Rena Sofer) and Violet (Jophielle Love). As it turns out, that young girl is a recast Georgie.
Juliet Donenfeld is stepping into the role temporarily replacing Lily Fisher. As viewers know, Georgie is the young daughter of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) named after Maxie’s sister, Georgie who passed away.
According to Soap Opera News, Fisher will be back soon in the part.
As for Donenfeld’s credits, she has appeared as JJ in the Netflix’s WWE series The Big Show Show, Better Call Saul, Good Girls, Station 19, and Sydney to the Max to name but a few.
In addition, Juliet became the youngest nominee for an Annie Award, gaining recognition for voicing the character of Sally Squirrel in the Animated TV/Broadcast Production of Pete the Cat.
